Generous portions served for Sunday roast. Nice sun trap of a beer garden literally next to the canal. Only 1 cask ale on at the time of visit, but this is a pub that has tidied up considerably since my last visit a few years ago.

Great pub near the Ricoh Arena. Friendly staff, good beer and lovely beer garden beside the canal. They show live sport on the TVs. The beer prices were very reasonable. It had a great atmosphere and was busy with rugby fans before and after the match. Highly recommended!

The Longford Engine is one of the old pubs of Coventry with the canal flowing immediately behind it. I visit this establishment every Tuesday night to take part in a weekly quiz night. The surroundings are very pleasant and the bar staff are friendly. Like most pubs these days the attendance is quite low although weekends may be busier as I believe they sometimes have live music. I have also visited this pub for a meal in the past when I found a good choice of food at a reasonable price and of good quality. A good pub to visit.

Seen it busier In Times gone by so only 4 stars but the staff try and get 5 stars and alongside a canal which I like and usually good food . Truck park 2 minutes away so perfect for me 👍

Popped in on Sunday for something to eat. Lovely home cooked food. Great service. The gentlemen behind the bar was extremely pleasant and was always there on hand to help and asssit if we needed anything. Will defiantly come back to try more of the menu.

Got to the pub about 4.30 on a Sunday. First impressions not great, it was quite noisy with kids running around. However, by the time i had finished my drink it had quietened down, most of the kids had left and it became fairly decent and i stayed for a couple more drinks. Basically its a decent place if you time it right

(Translated) Such a great experience from a real English Pub... pleasant service, you pay immediately, the manager even posed for me with the legendary bell 🔔, which announces the last beer 15 minutes before closing... A wide selection of beers 🍻, but I wasn't impressed by Guinness, it was rather fine curling beer 🥌... That's the name of the restaurant, great guests and watching football together, beautiful interiors and outdoor seating by the canal where the boats are moored, I recommend visiting... They don't cook in the evening anymore, so I can't judge (Original) Tak prima zážitek z pravého Anglického Pubu... příjemná obsluha, platí se ihned, vedoucí mi dokonce zapózovala s legendárním zvonen 🔔, který ohlásí poslední pivo 15 min před zavřením... Široký výběr piv 🍻, ovšem Guinnes mě neuchvátil, spíš prima bylo pivo Curling 🥌... Opravu se tak jmenuje, prima hosté a společné sledování fotbalu, krásné interiéry i venkovní sezení u kanálu, kde kotví loďky, doporučuji navštívit... Večer už se tedy nevaří, takže nemůžu posoudit

Very busy pub, but it was a match day. It was nice to sit by the side of the canal. BTW away fans aren't allowed in and there's security on the door. Top tip, don't park in the zones you're not allowed to on match day or you will get a ticket (see pictures).

Had an awesome night down here on Saturday watching reverend Ragoo. Kept meaning to visit since the refurb as many have recommended it. Was not at all disappointed! Lovely outside area by the canal too. Will definitely be returning soon 👍

Really pleasant visit. Attended prior to a football match at Coventry City FC. Contrary to the comments below away fans are permitted unless the pub is given advice from the police not to, such as local rivals, the same as the use of plastic cups. My advice is to call the pub in advance and check. The pub was very busy on my visit and it was four deep at the bar. They could have done with extra staff and a policy in place, say 4 drinks max per customer? Some customers were selfishly orderly 8-10 (I kid you not!!) pints EACH. This meant other customers had to wait and some, understandably, just left as the wait time was just too much. That said, I did manage to get served and we sat out in the pleasant garden by the canal. Really friendly atmosphere. We returned after the game and the pub put a band on. The return visit was much calmer and we managed to get a seat inside. Again, home and away fans together and no issues whatsoever. Re parking, the pub has 15 spaces for customers on a first come, first served basis. Don’t park in surrounding streets as many returned to £60 tickets as the place is in a controlled parking zone, issued by the council. If you don’t fancy, or can’t get, official parking, I would suggest the non official car park opposite Novotel on Wilsons Lane. Always spaces and cheap prices too. It’s only a 10 min walk to the Longford engine too!
