Went today with a friend. What a wonderful find. The food was scrumptious and 2 courses for £10. Service was great too. Coffee and tea was nice. Very clean place. Won't hesitate in going back very soon.

This weekend we celebrated our friends 40th Birthday with a bottomless brunch. The Old Crown team were extremely helpful in making the afternoon a complete success. Our waitress Sharon was amazing and went above and beyond. From the moment we arrived Sharon helped us set up the tables, made fancy napkins and provided glasses for a toast ready for when our guest of honour arrived. The food was delicious, our glasses were refilled as soon as they were emptied. We handed the cake to Sharon and she completely took care of everything. A massive thank you to Sharon and the team at the Old Crown.

I think it’s important to inform everybody that this establishment is one not to miss.I have eaten in restaurants/Pubs throughout England and Europe and I can honestly say that the menu here is perfected to a high standard. I believe the food quality and menu ideas make an excellent meal and the prices are just unbeatable when It Comes to talking about a menu with this much class. I just want to thank the chef for making sure everything is cooked fresh and great feasting.I do have a special mention for the waitress Sharon who made sure we were met properly at the door and made us feel at home,she described the menu items to us and helped us with recommendations and she sure wasn’t wrong. She couldn’t do enough for us and brought some banter and some chat along with the experience,In my opinion the level of service she gave us I’m surprised she isn’t a supervisor and I do hope she is valued by this establishment. Thank you again and I will be back in October!!!

We went as a table of 4 on midweek lunchtime and was really surprised how busy it was. They did manage to seat us and we had the lunchtime 2 courses for £10. I have to say that the food and service was excellent. I would definitely recommend the liver and bacon with mash and the beef lasagne. Both were beautiful. We will definitely become regulars but will book next time!!!!

What a lovely pub with friendly staff . Great table service. Food was really tasty good homemade meal they really did go that little bit extra. Just before we paid our bill I was ask to check it specifically as they told me the till was playin up an there may be things on it that I hadn't had. How honest most places would have just taken the money. Would recommend to anyone family's welcome .

Amazing night had by all. Booked this for a surprise 30th for my partner. Had the upstairs private room hire. Pre booked meal for nearly 60 people everything was perfect from the start of planning to the end. Cannot thank the staff enough amazing all worked brilliant. Massive thank you to I believe Paul who worked the bar, speedy fast service Big thank you also so Andy who made sure the night went as smoothly as possible and him doing the DJ and disco and getting involved with the crowd too. Nothing was too much to ask. All in all 10/10 service. Will definitely recommend to everyone.

Wow! This pub has been on my door step 2.5 miles away. Never thought of trying here for food. After all these years, I know now that I've been missing the best Sunday Carvery for miles around. Went in large group and a few of them wanted pizza, staff member advised as they only have two pizza ovens it would take approx 25 mins longer for extra pizzas. So rather than have to wait they had the option to choice something else or wait. Nice beer garden and outdoor sitting area to watch TV and has cover.

My friend took me for lunch u don't eat out very often because u like my food piping hot and many places are well below average but wow extremely friendly staff asking if we are OK food was piping hot tasty and fresh pudding they boxed for me to take back and it was so nice and clean in there which is rare now so for me to give 5 star is under rating but that's all it goes upto hope my bext visits as good as I look forward to it.

We chose The Old Crown for a "lunch reunion" with friends coming from the South and the North of England, before visiting the lovely city of Coventry: current and deserving Capital of Culture. Food was really good, and the service even better, with both Manager and staff looking after us, and making us feel very welcome. Pity I forgot to take pictures. Great place!

A hidden gem! My first visit will not be my last. The staff were as sweet as could be and the service, excellent. The pub is pleasant to sit in and have a meal. We both had starters - lamb kofta and mushroom bruchetta- delicious. Then a hunters chicken burger for me and a cheese and bacon burger for him. We were very impressed. The food was nicely presented, beautifully cooked and absolutely scrumptious. Can't wait to go back.

Everything and everyone were absolutely fabulous. From greeting us, to serving our drinks and food, it was an incredible experience. Sharon, our hostess was friendly, professional and very attentive. The food was to die for. It felt like I was back home. I had the seafood platter and all that was missing was the sound of the waves and would be like a Greek taverna by the sea. Prices are really good. Nice atmosphere. Definitely a must visit if you are in Coventry and the surrounding areas.

Love this pub, i miss the fact i cant make bingo anymore due to work commitments but they really look after the elderly ladies and gents who go to play bingo during the week. the food is perfect, they have a garden out the back which they regularly have bouncy castles in, with swings for the kids. We have just been on the off chance we would get a table , we arrived with no booking but was offered 2 hours which was fine , the gentleman explained that they were busy and to please be patient , in all honesty we felt patience wasnt necessary. Our server was amazing and had smoke coming from his shoes nothing was too mich trouble ,and as for the food it was perfect to the point my partner ate his salad which never happens , we normaly eat at the same place all the time , but decided as we had been once before we would give it a go as not to far from home . I am absolutely the fussier of eaters and really did expect just your run of the mill pub grub and carvery on a Sunday. Well I and everyone I know that's been to this lovely pub have had nothing but great things to say about the food. Carvery is lovely and everything on it from the Yorkshire puds to the roast potatoes is freshly made, so nice. Went yesterday and took my Aunties for the first time where they had the mini fish with a choice of different potatoes and choice of peas. One had new potatoes and the other had the most lovely home made chips and the fish was gorgeous and huge for a mini fish with the crispiest batter I have seen. Everything here is cooked to order and so takes a little longer but so worth it. I would absolutely recommend the the lovely food in the week and most definitely the beautiful Sunday Carvery. My son had the mixed grill when he went and was so nice and cooked perfectly. Make sure to book ahead on a Sunday as it gets so packed. Such a lovely place for food with lovely staff that I have found in such a long time ❤

I reserved a table for five adults at the Old Crown for Sunday lunch as this was a meeting place, half way point between London and Blackburn, meeting up with my cousin and husband that we hadn’t seen for a number of years. The Old Crown has been given top reviews on Trip Advisor as one of the top 5 eating places in Coventry. When we entered the Old Crown the staff were very friendly and accommodating, everyone was enjoying themselves and the bar staff Ann Marie introduced herself and attended to our needs. She did advise us that the Sunday lunch was fabulous and the carvery Sunday lunch was outstanding. Everything was piping hot and we all agreed that it was once of the best Sunday pub lunches that we have ever eaten. Many thanks and we will remember this venue if we visit Coventry again.

We moved out of Coventry 3 years ago but this use to be our local for food and beverages (we called it the pie pub, for the amazing pies they served) after 3years we just popped in for lunch and OMG absolutely amazing, Craig and the team have completely revamped the place it looks beautiful, and the food tasted more amazing than we remembered 😋 😋 😋 😋 😋 We had a lovely lady who served up, was so attentive (forgot to ask her name) Function room available, sports bar, huge outdoor football screen, huge children's playground, lovely cosy theme, there is nothing this pub doesn't have ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ 5 star standard.

Had a great night at The Old Crown catching up with old friends. The Staff were very friendly and the atmosphere was superb; mixture of all ages. There was a 21st Birthday party upstairs in the function room so it seems it is a multi purpose local pub. A pool table, darts board, plasma TV and juke box mean that you are never short of entertainment. We didn't eat but the menu and food looked very good. Great to see a traditional pub busy when there is so much doom and gloom hanging over the trade. It seems we have found a great meeting place!

Stopped off for a beer with a mate. I haven't been in there in donkey's years. As I was ordering a pint of Guinness I detected the smell of food and ask the barman about it he handed me a pretty comprehensive menu on which I spotted liver and bacon with onions. I can resist anything but temptation and so place my order to just sit back down at the table and he's bringing over the Guinness when it settled. He did and the pint was great. 10 minutes later and the liver and onions arrived it was sublime.

Country pub vibes with a really warm, friendly and engaging couple (I think) running it. Just walked away with such a smile from it which I haven't had before! Respect to the hostess for upholding covid rules to a walk-in who was being challenging regarding using a mask on entry. My only criticism is there wasn't an option on the card reader machine to leave a tip; I haven't really carried cash on me since Covid19 and felt awful walking away without leaving something!! I will be sure to add an extra tip next time 😊

The outside of this pub looks dated and drab but surprised to see the amount of customers when we entered. Most, were all eating what looked like a lovely meal. The interior really needs decorating and bringing up to date. The window frames were filthy and rusty, a big hole in the ceiling where we were sitting, uncomfortable chairs and electric wires protruding through walls and the ceiling which really put me off. However, determined to see it through, the Sunday carvery was lovely (although I would have preferred cauliflower cheese instead of plain cauliflower!). A choice of 4 meats and plenty of hot fresh vegetables. The staff were very friendly especially the lady bar person ( even though she charged us wrongly!). With a bit more money thrown into this pub, it has the potential to be one of the best places to go in Coventry for a carvery. I'd certainly be a regular!
