Great service and excellent food as always, highly recommend. Kids eat free throughout the holidays is a bonus. 3 x kids breakfast and 2 x full English for less than £10, BARGAIN. We were served by April who was excellent.

Celebrated our 27th wedding anniversary 💕 lovely food, drinks, and staff were friendly and helpful, quick service, although we did hear someone complaining too slow, but we're still in a pandemic, and they were good at clearing and cleaning.

Stopped for breakfast. Toast (done to perfection) with honey, and a sausage butty. Ideal, good value, nice surroundings, and the staff were lovely.

On our arrival, the premises was obviously busy with a lot of people at tables, however, we were still able to easily find a table. The table and seating area was clean, tidy and well stocked with menus and condiments. It was order at the bar on our visit which was no issue and the staff were more than happy to provide an alternative menu for dietary needs. Food came in a reasonable timeframe, with it being hot, well portioned and very tasty. Staff were polite, friendly and even though busy didn't let this phase them, still carried out table checks and even gave a friendly goodbye at the end. Will certainly visit again.

Play area outside and Indoor soft play which is about £3.50 -£4 each, also few kids £1 surprise ball machine and grabber machine and separate dining for soft play, u can eat and drink without leaving kids unsupervised, brilliant and good pricing on meals

Came here the other day to bring my 9 month old niece to the ball pit they have here. It was her first time at anything like this and she seem to love it. She was a little taken back at the other kids and the balls but she found her self soon enough. She loved the pepper pig car ride too. So it's a nice little place to bring young kids to let off some steam for an hour or two while you enjoy a coffee etc. We did also eat in the restaurant Which was a decent meal , no thrills but enjoyable burger. The staff was friendly my only fault with the place was where we sat a few tables hadn't been cleared but it was more the amount of time it took to get those tables cleared and ready to be used again and it wasn't that busy . Not something alot of people will be concerned about but as a former manager of a restaurant those details stick out a little more and something I still look at. But don't get me wrong it's a lovely great , clean family place to come and enjoy.

Had a lovely lunch at Bonnie Prince staff were very helpful, pleasent. They were always cleaning areas that had been used by earlier diners. I really liked to see this, i cannot fault them for keeping the pub and restaurant clean.

We tool a trip here for a Sunday lunch with the kids, the food was quick to be served and for the price, pretty decent. However, what could have been a great overall experience was let down by what feels a very run down pub, and the ridiculously loud music belting out from the kitchen, with little consideration for customers.

Nice staff but table left dirty and full near entrance looked like it had been forgotten about, not the ideal table position, but first one you see as you walk through the door, able to take dog in, but asked to sit near door area, this was fine by me, I understand that not everybody likes dogs close by whilst eating, food was very good, nice polite server, just marked down on stars due to the state of the dirty table and floor on entry.

Nice clean pub and friendly staff. We were a bit disappointed that when we arrived there was no staff in sight, even though there is a sign asking you to wait to be seated, so we found our own seats. There was a couple of dirty tables around when we sat down but they were soon cleaned. The food was very nice and quick service. All covid rules are in place.

Visited the Bonnie Prince again today for the eat out to help out scheme, we definitely were not disappointed, the already reduced steak Monday being half price, I had a 9oz sirloin steak for £3.75. It was really tasty, although the steaks were mixed up, I had medium, my mother in law well done and I had sauce, but we just swapped the steak and all was good. The chips were very nice and fresh too. One slight problem, they were out of onion rings, but It didn't really affect my meal too much! The man who showed us to our table, I didn't catch his name was very helpful and friendly and our waitress April was very helpful and friendly also. We are regulars at the green King pubs and always enjoy it, but having saved some money aswell makes it even better! Will definitely return!!

Nice meal, enjoyed the food. Had to wait a while to be seen in initially, but was shown to table by cheerful member of staff, greeted nicely by duty manager and main course arrived quite quickly. Ordered desserts (only 1 adult and 2 children's) but it took over 3/4 of a hour to arrive. Will definitely go back again. Not our first time there and will definitely not be our last visit. Popped into soft play area afterwards with our 3 and 1 year olds, left (grudgingly in our 3 year olds case) with 2 tired happy kids.

Such a lovely meal this afternoon at the Bonnie Prince. April (our waitress) was such a wonderful waitress, so friendly and really lovely. Greeted us with a smile and really couldn't fault her at all. The food came out incredibly fast and was sizzling hot. A real credit to Jason the chef!! Great food at such an amazing price! It's a lovely pub with a great soft play. However the toilets within the soft play area need looking at they are not fit for purpose at all, it's like playing tetras while peeing, and the sinks are so small prepare to get showered while washing your hands. The staff are friendly and will go out of there was to help you so really can't fault them there. However when kids are being unsafe in the soft play and parents ignore the kids which we all know them types of parents the staff don't step in which makes the health and safety issue worse. If your going to have soft play in a pub you need to be prepared to kick children out the soft play for not following the rules, instead of ignoring it and waiting until it causes injury.

Nice little pub. Good meau and price. And with wacky warehouse attached the kids are entertained but will add there is a charge to use this and you must sit in on plastic chairs and bright lights. There is a out door play area which is free. Would go again as they have good offers all week long. I.e free desert day, burgers buy one get one free.

This pub/restaurant is another in the Hungry Horse chain. However, the HH operates a differential pricing structure on its menus depending on which restaurant you visit. The Bonnie Prince is slightly more expensive than the Tall Chimney in Swadlincote, for example. This differential pricing extends to the special offers as well... We use both venues but today, visited the Bonnie Prince because the Tall Chimney was fully booked... The food and general standard of presentation together with the condition and ambiance of the venue is equally as good. I am more than happy with my experience at the Bonnie Prince and happy to recommend the place which, I am sure to be visiting again before long... 👍👍😷

The food was chain standard so fine. Only three stars because the bar service was pretty awful. Clearly the only person behind the bar didn't like serving you if you were standing at the "wrong part of the bar". Had to wait 5 mins both times before being served in a practically empty pub. Lots of staff milling round looking busy not serving customers.

Last week our favorite steak burger turned out to be gristly, unlike previous weeks. We have fed this back and the attendant was very responsive to report it and then coming back with apology and replacement offer. This is one of the nicest places to go for your family friendly food and drink afternoons or evenings out. The staff there are really nice as is the manager. The place is almost surrounded by beer gardens which can be very relaxing. I didn't eat there but it looked fantastic as it came out. I'll definitely be returning for some food next time.

Used to be amazing here me and my fiancé used to come every week for date night but now no. The food is a hit and miss sometimes great and sometimes not cooked or burn. The bar is so under staffed that you wait about 30 minutes before you get served a drink. But the staff are nice and normally helpful if you can get hold of them. I would say it needs to be improved again before i come back as a regular.

Love cold beer, love good food and love live music. The Bonnie Prince didn't disappoint. Friendly bar staff, fairly priced drinks and a local band playing too. Went there for the live music, ended up eating. The 4 muppeteers band were average and unfortunately tucked away where it's difficult to see them so the 'live music' wasn't the experience we were hoping for but overall we had a good night. Will keep an eye out for better bands and hopefully the pub can sort out the live music area. We will be back!

Came here for an early New Year dinner with my family. It's a nice place and I would return but not in a hurry. The food was ok nothing to shout about. They didn't have the beef dinner from the kids menu on their till?? A bit confusing. So I ordered my son the tomato pasta which I'm sorry was very poor. A big bowl of pasta with what looked like a teaspoon of sauce just plonked on top. No attention to detail. They forgot my coleslaw and my husbands extra sauce. We ordered desserts but had to wait a long time to get them resorting in us asking how long they'd be. I'm sorry but the Bonnie Prince has gone down hill.

Great service this time. Been many times before as the food / beer / wine deals are actually good VFM. Often the Bonnie is understaffed which puts a lot of pressure on the few. But they are always polite and courteous. The food is pub fare at the better end of the scale. Don't expect haute cuisine, but expect to be well fed. Definitely worth a mid week visit our you can't be bothered to cook.

Cheap and cheerful chain pub. Service is somewhat lacking as they always appear to be running on 2 or 3 staff. But, you can order through the Greene King App now. So thats problem solved. As for menu, their portions aren't shy. The new menu launched Feb is good, Haloumi sandwich is a beast. Accessible, quiet enough, comfy and clean. Its acceptable, but don't expect a gastropub taste sensation. But if you want a a pub menu classic, then you're going to be alright.

We've been to this place before and it was very good but we visited yesterday and it has very much gone downhill. Wrong sauce was served with one of our mains, cutlery was dirty and nobody seemed at all interested when we complained.

This pub is a good pub. Cheapish drinks along with cheapish food. The only problem is the quality of food is very temperamental. Some days it's amazing and others it just isn't what It could be. The atmosphere at times can be a bit dead but then other times it's good fun. Overall this is a pub with quite a bit to other you just need to go on a good day.

Great place for the kids to play, management dealt with my problem and were really apologetic. Its ok for a drink and play for the kids, but wouldn't recommend, spending your hard earnt money on the food, as you will be very disappointed. Yes it was busy, but the food was very overcooked and dry, 45mins wait and we all, just asked for a refund, that we were given with no quibble, with lots of apologies. Left with empty bellys, but my little one had fun in the play area. I will always try to be honest with my reviews. Supposed to be getting a phone call of management today.
