This is the second Slug & Lettuce location I'd tried in England and I was very satisfied by this one. The chefs are pretty good. The chicken Tikka was very tasty and was just the right quantity. The cocktails were great and my girlfriend loved the fish and chips. The location is great in the center of Derby. I would definitely go again!

The staff did a really good job of making mine and my mum's Mother's Day Afternoon tea special. They even accommodated the fact I rang last minute to increase the booking from 2 people to 3 with no big issues. The afternoon tea itself was very filling, which I never expected as I thought "oh a few tiny sandwiches" but no was exactly the type of nibbles needed for the occasion. Finally a little hiccup at the end was sorted within minutes (not that I minded in particular as I didn't notice until after I'd paid anyway). An overall great experience and will definitely be booking next years Mothers day with S&L Derby!

We came down at lunch time on a Saturday for the bottomless brunch and we were so delighted with the service and value for money! Emily and Dan were fantastic hosts and made the experience so much more worth it. They were so attentive, ensuring our drinks were full at all times and had the most warm welcoming. Best aperol spritz around! I was in Nottingham S&L a month ago and they tasted like water in small white wine glasses. Derby on iron gate, the aperol spritz are in gin glasses and really taste like you’re in Italy. Josh has been exceptional at looking after my friend and I all afternoon. Extremely professional and attentive. Thank you so much Josh!

I booked a table for a friends hen do a few Friday nights ago, we all ordered in advance so it was a little disappointing that we had to wait 90 minutes for food and during this time we had to go back and forth to the bar to order drinks, sometimes having to wait 20 minutes to be served. Luckily we all had drinks at the point the food arrived. I get that Friday night is busy so unless you can get table service for drinks I stick to eating here during the week. The food however, dare I say was worth the wait!! I ordered two small plates (calamari and king prawns bites) and what was a very large portion of the best sweet potato fries I’ve ever eaten!!! Really well cooked and crispy not soggy. I’m not sure what the prices were as we picked from a menu emailed to me without prices on but when we split the bill everyone paid just over £10 each so very reasonable (without drinks). The cocktails are all two for one so pretty good value too although the espresso martinis are a little on the small side. Overall I’d recommend visiting here for a meal during a quieter night which I certainly will do and if the food comes out a little quicker I’d definitely change this to a 5* review!

Booked a table of 8 for my sister's 30th birthday - only a week before but nothing was a problem. Placed a pre order and even on a Friday night the food was quick and cocktails are always delicious. Shout out to Adi who looked after us throughout the evening and Jade who served ice cold prosecco! Highly recommend

Lovely bar!! Visited multiple times, nice for food as well as for cocktails 2 for £10 mostly. Can be a bit loud, but has a lovely atmosphere and gorgeous decor. Would 100% recommend for a meal with friends or family, or some drinks on a night out, I’ve seen people have engagement parties and christening parties here too. They also do cocktail masterclasses which have been going on a few times when I’ve visited, although I’ve never tried it myself, they look popular. I think there around £25 a person.

The service was good and the manager was very helpful. We didn't enjoy the Turkey dinner as the veg was very hard and the gravy was too thick and didn't pour out of jug. But we enjoyed soup and breaded brie. We also enjoyed the pavlova but friends didn't enjoy chocolate brownie. It wasn't what they thought it would be. There was five of us and we understand everyone has different personal taste in food as we've all worked in food.

Drinks were awesome but a bit on the pricey side which was due to them deciding not to offer their usual 2-4-1 on Cocktails. waited 10 minutes which was positive, we was served by someone who was called rhian who made us feel welcome for the simple fact of providing great host, confirmed order once arrived due to pre ordering as was a group of 9 people, allowed everyone to make specific mends to order, meals came out perfectly, anything that we asked or wanted was never to much of an issue, chatted with everyone smiling all the time and joined in our conversation and had a good laugh. Would deffo recommend this place for either pre drinks before night out or a family meal. Don’t knock it till you try it

First time in town at night for a long time. Greeted by really friendly staff.we were taken to our table that we had reserved prior.We could go to the bar or order via the app. That took a fair while to create an account and scroll through the hundreds of pubs connected to the brewery. Payment was easy and drinks didn't take too long to arrive. Food was tasty and reasonably priced. Although there was a 2 hour limit on the table we weren't moved and stayed alot longer.

I am not normally a drinker, well I never bothered drinking alcohol as it all tasted horrible to me. But I went to slug and lettuce with my partner who introduced to me, to it. And the cocktails are amazing and taste so good, it makes you get excited for trying different ones. The two for one deal is also a bargain, if your not normally a drinker like me, I highly recommend slug and lettuce as it will make you enjoy drinking alcohol with its cocktails.
