Reviews of The Babington Arms - JD Wetherspoon
W. B.
Decent food bar staff on point.
Team leader of the staff was mint crack willing to engage in conversation unlike some spoons.
Bar manager was chatty but busy.
Nice food good atmosphere.
Charles is a local don't be put off with his dementia absolutely lovely bloke.
Would pop in again.
p. b.
Very quiet on my visit.
Some interesting information on the walls about local theatres and Babbington Hall.
I had the mini chocolate brownie with ice cream and unlimited hot drinks for just over £3.
There's a nice outdoor terrace with plants. Sadly, I can't see this one lasting 😢
M. N.
Sticky table but.....the food was easy to to order. It arrived quickly, was piping hot and much welcomed. Friendly attentive staff, made a pleasant dining experience. Just needs a good clean!!! 🙄🙄 The lamp shades were full of dust and the underneath of the table was sticky 🥴
R. C.
Good place to get very reasonably priced drinks, Great selection of Ales. The Barmaid told me they have to have 10 different ales at any time, and because they are one of the busiest pubs in town they can sell enough to keep the quality up. Good place to people watch and find someone to chat to
k. h.
Enjoyed my Steak and Leffe here. Busy but short wait for food.
R. W.
I've been using the Babbo for 10yrs or so now without complaint, the beer has always been excellent, the staff very friendly and knowledgeable. What has happened since lockdown? The beer is still good, but trying to get served is another matter. For some reason there's always a queue for the bar .3-4 people behind it but only 1 actually serving. Yesterday we called in for a quick pint which took 15 mins to get. The new manager has got to get the staff better organised . Use the App? The couple at the next table did so and waited longer than us.We have already migrated to the Thomas Leaper ,further to walk but much better service. Also the Babington is long overdue for a refurb ,especially the disabled toilets, it's a disgrace ,always swimming and smelly. It's used by far too many who just can't be bothered going upstairs
T. P. T. B. D.
Great local pub near to us! Great service. Never too busy, due to the Standing Order being closed for refurbishment it is a bit busier now but still great!
S. G.
Excellent, as always, can't beat a wetherspoons. Loads of choice for beer, ale, lager etc, very reasonable prices. Nice place, chill, relax, enjoy. Alot less busier than standing order.
S.
Only came here as the Standing Order is being refitted. However it's nice enough, obvs hasn't got anywhere near the decor.
Service was ok, food standard Spoons fare and quick as usual. They had run out of the beer we came in for, but that's the chance you take with high turnover premises.
N. C.
Always a good vibe in here.. slightly off the beaten track compared to its sisters the other side of town but always plenty of space and decent ale.
D. E.
Very stuffy no ventilation. The upholstery and chairs are dirty. The baby change/disabled toilet was disgusting floor covered in wee and absolutely stinking. Food was okay and staff friendly but the cleanliness of this pub is definitely not up to scratch!!
N. C.
It's been years since I was last in this pub & I won't leave it that long again. Its a really nice pub with good bar staff and the average age of drinkers must be 50's plus which makes it a really nice safe pub for a female.
M. l.
Great service cheap and cheerful, excellent value for money with a great choice of food and drinks, first time I've tried spitfire real ale and was awesome.
j. H.
I think it is so crowded that Covid must been rife in there. The tables are so close together that it makes it impossible to safe distance. I suppose because it is always crowded, it must be popular but not a place for me.
N. S.
One of the nice Weatherspoons. Same good food and value. 1 of 3 we found in Derby. 2 more next to each other near the cathedral
T. M.
The Babington Arms is one of several JD Wetherspoon pubs in Derby, close to the Antu shopping centre. It is a large pub, suitable for groups - especially when sports events are on. However, the décor certainly has seen better days, and you will find a classier JDW option about 7 minutes away, at The Standing Order.
Of course, the menu (with very minor variations) and drjnks selection is the usual, and the prices are highly competitive - you simply won't find a cheaper cocktail or real ale than anywhere else but at a Spoon. However, a real ale I had when I visited in February had already gone bad (very notable vinegary smell and taste).. That shouldn't happen - casks of real ale once opened wiil start to go bad after 3 days. The food is solid if unexciting, which you've also come to expect from JDW.
All in all, not the best JDW option in Derby.
T. B.
Good friendly service art this venue, tables cleared and cleaned quickly. The club meal of the day was good.
V. M.
Had a lovely meal fantastic prices for food and drink. Curtious staff excellent 👌
B.
Not been here for a while, it seems things have taken a turn to the bad. No pizzas no salad got the wrong burger everything we got was like a 3rd rate school dinner from the 70s we won't be going back 👎👎👎
S. b.
Found a table quite easily, used the app to make an order, swift service and friendly staff,
Well done Wetherspoon.
L. H.
Had a lovely meal in a busy pub. Staff were calm and capable.
T. J.
Food good and staff friendly and helpful.
Good value for money
S. T.
Come in here for breakfast. Weatherspoon menu so u know wot sort of price to expect. Breakfast was good and staff were approachable and came across pleasent when dealing with me on order or clearing tables. Was even asked if food was ok. Defo come back for more maybe lunch too. Can't say what it's like as a pub atmosphere when people drink as we only went for morning breakie but I'd happily return.
T. S.
Great fish. Great service. Great Guinness! Cheers.
A. S.
Typical weatherspoons. Nice staff. Beer well kept
J. G.
Lovely place to eat and or drink. We came back here every day for breakfast or dinner/tea during our 4day to visit to Derby and it was always good service and nice food. Will definitely visit again xxx
S. X.
Quality food options at sensible prices. Decent selection of well priced beers.
P. D.
Good basic pub, good prices and atmosphere and you can order from your table
K. C.
I am a Wetherspoons fan the beer and staff very good my only concern was the state of the upholstery 🍻👍
M. D.
Always plenty of people here. Always interesting ones as well. Good service
G.
I went in for breakfast excellent the service was good and value for money will be returning again. Thanks 😊
J. O.
Town centre Wetherspoon with the usual attractions. Good food at very reasonable prices. Beer choice was extensive and spirits also satisfied all tastes. Spacious dining area and good service helped us to enjoy our dinner. We will use it again when we return to Derby.
C. S.
Wasn't too shabby, slow service at times but other than that, wasn't much too complain about.
S. N.
It's okay. Not clean, not great and questionable staff but it serves it purpose and at least you can sit outside.
J. A.
Melanie and I loved tonight's government to eat out help out scheme.mon to wed .3rd Aug till 31st Aug. two alcoholic drinks and 2 main courses for less than 9 pound W🤩W
S. H.
It’s a Wethy - Good friendly service, bottle of wine for £6.99 and freshly cooked good value food.
M. F.
Typical wetherspoons,,plenty of staff plenty of options plenty of people..in Derby for a couple of hours so be rude not to..
S. P.
Met a lot of people I haven't seen for a while all good
W. K.
fairely inexpensive place. sometimes food tastes good while sometimes its stale and is clearly microwaved, the alcoholic drinks can be a hit or miss depending on if you like them weaker or not.
however, if you are on a budget it is a great place to go to
T. F.
Average Wetherspoon pub. Good food. Cheap Drink. And good service.
P. D.
Friday lunchtime visit... it was busy with a nice mix of shoppers and drinkers....good staff all friendly and hard working ..tables could have been cleaner...but that was my only criticism...toilets wereclean too...
P. D.
Another Spoons ticked off the list. Great choice of real ales on today.. A bit dark inside.
J. W.
Not just the best Wetherspoons in Derby but up there with the best pubs fullstop.
It shows what can be accomplished by a passionate manager who knows and care about sourcing and serving exquisite real ale and cider. The hand pumps run into double figures and you're guaranteed a great pint at incredibly cheap prices. A highlight of a recent visit was a cask aged cider which went down dangerously well at 6.9% and less than £3 a pint!!
It's cosy for a 'Spoons which makes a change honestly, and the staff are without fail friendly and knowledgeable. As you'd expect with an offering this good it does get busy from early most days.
Food is standard Wetherspoons fare but has certainly improved over the years.
Highly recommended stop-off when in Derby.
b. m.
Lovely place, lovely food , friendly staff
A. P.
Friendly staff, nice food and good quality
M. B.
Brilliant pub, great atmosphere, food and such a range of ales! Staff are very friendly and helpful and as it's a Wetherspoon pub it feels like you're at home.
T. B.
Really busy today Grand National and the 2 staff down and still their doing a great job.
X.
Its a Wetherspoons. Feels a bit run down. Beer prices as you would expect are about the cheapest around.
f. b.
Very efficient, bar staff and kitchen staff ,breakfast didn't take long to be served.
One young lady was certianly happy in her job singing and smiling.
M. P.
Very nice family environment good food.
K. B.
10 out of 10 once again brill staff see you next week cheers Babington arms
J. m.
A realy nice pub thats pretty quite portion sizes are small for a spoons buts same old
M. Y.
Easy to order on the app and the toilets were not 14 miles away like many other Wetherspoon's. Tables did seem very close together so if that was an issue to yourself you may wish to find a corner seat or something.
D. H.
Not the nicest of weatherspoons. When our food came the gentleman that brought over our food put the cutlery down on the table that hadn't been cleaned before we sat down which was very disappointing.
J. W.
Nice food nice atmosphere whats more to say 5 gold stars ✨️ ✨️ ✨️ ✨️ ✨️
J.
Had a good breakfast & quite cheap
C. C. (.
There's a beer festival on now. Only moderately stick Spoon's
j. m.
Food was sooo good. Friendly staff. Tables were dirty but when I asked staff to clean they were more than happy to oblige
D. M.
Dimly lit , but spacious, also quieter than standing order or Thomas leaper as it is just out of the main drinking area. Did seem to be having issues with getting orders correct, but the food was cooked well. Overall a okay experience.
S. M.
Doesn't have the incredible historical interior of The Standing Orders but we really enjoyed our visit and the burgers were perfect.
w. h.
It was ok just a normal city pub with grub
R. P.
Two steak and ale puddings, with mash or chips, peas, gravy and brown sauce...plus 2 pints of beer...£9.65!!! Admittedly this was under the Eat Out Help Out, government promotion, so obviously changed now.
Fantastic value and tasted superb.
Very well designated walkways for social distancing, plenty of hand sanitizer available in multiple locations throughout the venue.
Friendly, if slightly frazzled staff.
Recommended.
K. C.
It's a Spoons. There are no surprises. Toilets in the sky, sticky tables, cheap beer (decent but small selection of ales) and the ability to send side orders of peas to random tables.
V. S.
Cheap & cheerful
Usual menu, but not expensive. Beers are very varied & we'll kept. Place could do with a spruce up its looking tired & tatty in places. Most staff excellent, polite and friendly, although the manager often comes across as very grumpy :)
k. h.
Service was quick and excellent, ambience spoilt by a member of staff who had her two young children with her, who were over familiar and a little boisterous, their mother was louder
R. H.
Stayed with a friend in Derby overnight but the hotel wasn't doing breakfast, so we walked into the city at around 9am and headed for the Babington Arms (Wetherspoons). There were a few other people in the pub as we took stock of available real ales. From a limited range, there was just one dark beer, Lymestone Brewery; Stone the Crows 5.4% abv. Omg, this beer was nectar and we cursed the fact that we never made it to this pub the night before. The other two 'Spoons in Derby had nothing we were interested in but the Flowerpot had a decent Chocolate Stout. So, the delightful Stone the Crows was paired with a wonderful 'Spoons Large Breakfast £5.59 each, which set us up for the day.
In summary then; comfortable pub, quick service, great food and fantastic beer (on this occasion). Loved it.
J. F.
Great Value meals & service.
H. C.
Cheap but very dark inside, needs a good clean and a refit, foods as you'd expect at a wetherspoons, service very quick but tables are not cleaned after
J. M.
Nice and friendly bar and waiter staff
S. K.
A great place for ales, had been there once in 2017, and my favorite was Phoenix Porter, too good a flavour. Ambience was just amazing, it will take you back years. A must visit doe a drink and bite.
m. a.
Really good service, friendly staff, food is good
R. P.
The meal and beers was very good
A. P.
Standard weatherspoons, a bit old now and worn but still a good place for breakfast. We ordered using the app which was quick and easy. Love the fact they've done a build your own breakfast option.
J. H.
Walked from Notts to derby and thought I'd reward me walk with a pint. Oldest average age for any spoons av been to. Everyone seemed sound and service was quick. Could do with a telly imho. Ha'way the lads
E. S.
It's a OK place to visit if you want a cheap drink
C.
Steak from the grill.
Poor quality meat.
c. f.
its been here years. its a great wethers. the food is good quality, especially the mixed grill on a tuesday. sit in the back its quieter. good ales and ipas and bottled beer.
k. p.
Only here been here for their breakfast and it’s one of the best there is! Bacon is lovely as is the sausage. Large choice of different breakfasts. Gets very busy at weekends though. The large breakfast is excellent value for money. Could do with more beans though.
T. M.
Traditional weathspoon. Friendly staff. Cheap drinks.
A. M.
Nice pub with different seating areas ,first class breakfast, value for money 😋
M. R.
Excellent food and fantastic drink cheers
S. P. C.
Very large floor space with tables of all shapes and sizes. We went on a Saturday night , very busy but managed to get a table. The mushroom risotto was very nice and the wife had the barbecue chicken " sorry no pics " but very nice ! Toilets upstairs " again " but that's wetherspoons for you lol
I. S.
Best pub best prices in Derby
W. C.
Great Pub great food and beer - could do to be a bit brighter inside though
N. P.
My favorite pub in Derby so far. Excellent atmosphere and very friendly staff. Food is always great and well priced. Love coming back here with my friend even during the day for a drink, snack or meal. Definitely can recommend this classy bar to anyone! :)
M. B.
We popped in here whilst visiting family in Derby, and as it was my daughters birthday. Unfortunately she is fussy and Pancakes wernt part of the breakfast menu, I spoke to Kate behind the bar who then spoke to the kitchen and they were happy to do a dessert for her for breakfast. Kate then went out of her way and sang Happy Birthday to my daughter as she brought it over too. Thank you
S. D.
Suitable for all ages only if you want a quiet and cozy place to hang out with friends and family. Lots of local ale is available. Pleasant atmosphere with old English style environment. You get tasty English breakfast.
s. s.
Nice clean very friendly staff food nice
P. V.
Food is usually very good. Most/nearly all are brilliant. Been coming here as a regular for many years as I am a cider man and they have an amazing selection. I stick to my favs when possible which are always fantastic, but festivals you get at least 20 throughout it to sample others. As I said most staff are great. One inperticular 'Lorraine' flows around like a hummingbird. Precise, accurate, remembers who you are and your drink, plus can serve 3 people in the time some others server one. Fantastic for customers.
d. b.
Good pub, slow service
m. c.
Come to the steak club Tuesday £7.59 for steak with all trimmings and choice of drink. The meal was quick to come to the table and was lovely and hot. The place was quiet busy but seemed to be quick getting the meals out. This is the 2nd time I've been and both times meal and drinks have been spot on. Definitely be trying the other night offers so I will be size of a house before long lol. But yes this place is very good staff are all friendly and place is clean. Well done staff keep up the good work
P. W.
Nice friendly and welcoming staff. Nice breakfast but shame they stopped doing black pudding.
B. S.
Good city centre pub with friendly staff and good choices of food and drinks. Thanks 👍
C. G.
Visited Babingtons last Thursday and was treated very well, the service was very fast and also friendly. A few tables were a bit sticky and wet in places and the lighting seemed a bit too dark towards the back of the room, but apart from that a lovely experience, would recommend and would come back again.
J. H. B.
We are 4 ladies who worked together. We meet in Derby have a browse around the shops. We then make our way to the Babbington and have lunch together then make our ways back home. Lovely break with great friend's. Thanks to the staff as well, lovely food always.
M. M.
Not a bad place to visit, food was average, staff were nice though. Good value. Would recommend for cheap & cheerful.
V. “. C.
Cheap drinks nice place to sit inside or outside. Downfall toilets are upstairs thats a mission especially when u had few to drink. That's y I only gave 4 stars 🙂👍
G. M.
Smoking area is at the front which isn't great, isn't their fault, but there's tables and chairs there anyway. Staff are always friendly and the ladies room is modern and has been clean everytime I've used them
G. N.
A good place for families or friends to meet
E. M.
Famished we were of into Derby town centre came across this place and thought Hmmm looks inviting so we went in, good choice there were various offers to be had, like a meal and drink included, I chose the rack of ribs and chicken which was excellent and value for money, my friend had Burger which she loved. Ordered food came out relativley quickly which was just what we needed.
C. R.
Lovely pub. Great atmosphere. Really nice, helpful staff. Food was excellent
N. D.
Lovely chicken burger was surprised at the quality presentation could be upgraded but excellent food
S. H.
Service bit slow and when ordered a steak meal at 22.30 they had ran out so had a mix grill excellent food
M. C.
Good prices, nice atmosphere. Good place to start a night out or for a meal
A. K.
This is a really nice and friendly pub been in here lots of times for breakfast and lunch. The food is good and at great prices also have good selection of drinks available. Location is in the town centre very close to the shops and there is parking outside which is pay and display or you can park in a carpark round the corner for up to 2hrs it's 2.50 and for up to 4hrs it is 3.50
B. E.
It's a Whetherspoons! You know the score... Well-priced drinks. Good pub grub selection. I regularly order the Empire burger without the bun, chips or onion rings (v nice) which can confuzzle certain staff. Handy drinks ordering app if you're feeling lazy/continental. Generally safe feeling despite the usual loud/lairy types.
r. r.
Excellent establishment great staff well worth a visit.Cheap drinks good service.
T. M.
Very nice food alright prices very busy all the time
J. P.
Lovely breakfast. Excellent service. Nice n clean .Thanks
M. R.
The app wasn't working so I had to go to the bar, I only got a ridiculously small portion of mushy peas with my fish and chips so small I figured they must have run out.
M. B.
I've been to the Babington Arms many times and will continue too. The atmosphere is like your typical British pub. This place serves food and a wide selection of ales, so if you enjoy your ales I recommend coming here! If you need to use the restroom expect a hike as it's upstairs, although there is a disabled toilet on the ground floor so if you do find yourself a little tipsy I'm sure it'll be fine to use.
S. F.
Was busy when we visited on a Friday evening, but the tables at the back were free and more quiet. Orders taken, starters were brought out and the waiter told us to just give a shout when we were done and he would start on the mains, I thought this was a good touch so no having someone hovering round us and no sat with empty plates for 30 minutes waiting. Waiter was very friendly and apologetic when they realised they had no tikka masala left, but took a new order, gave us the money back for the difference, and both mains were brought out together. Really enjoyed the meal, very filling.
S. M.
I love the babmington. But when I was in on Friday The table service was very very poor. Good job everything is back to normal
R. B.
With a Weatherpersons pub you know what you're going to get. No music, no quality food, but the drinks are cheap and there's normally a lot f folks in there to provide some atmosphere.
F. F.
Wonderful place to visit for a drink
C. E.
I always enjoy going here because the beer is spot on. But, for the life of me why do so many make out there is something wrong with them and use the disabled toilet ?
T. “. S. C.
Good service, nice pub.
C. G.
It's a spoons food nice and cheap drinks what more could you ask for :)
D. M.
Food ok service good but took an age to bring our drinks
S. W.
I've been going to the Babbington arms for many year's. But must admit that I've not been for a while. The beer choice was good as always but it just seemed so shabby tonight. The tables were dirty and sticky a lot of the seats were ripped it just seems run down. There was a fight going on outside between two drunks as we tried to get in. Shame as even though the Standing order is the posh Witherspoons the Babbingtons was always the beer drinkers pub.
C. L.
Really nice old building lovely period features... good choice of beer and food.. excellent staff service friendly and very welcoming staff who are in control.. very well organized..
B. E.
It's a Weatherspoons pub. A wide range of drinks at really competitive prices, a large food menu that's available until 11pm and that's about it.
Don't expect elegance or sophistication, it's good at what it does however there are much nicer places in Derby.
C. P.
One of the better Wetherspoons. Excellent choice of ale. Quite, none threatening environment a good staff. The ale here is well kept and deserving of its place on the Good Beer Guide.
A. J.
Spit and sawdust weatherspoons just a short walk from Waterstones book shop, not as grandiose as the standing order but the food is better. Some nice cubicles at the back of the pub for more privacy, manager who served me seemed a bit defeated but pleasant enough, bud light £2 bargain 😁😁
M. F.
The better of the Derby Wetherspoon's pubs, slightly off the main drag, so avoids the student & stag do crowd in the main. The management are very ale-centric and have an eccentric attitude to service that you would normally find in a small real ale free house. You either love or loathe that aspect, but personally I appreciate anything that makes for a more unique experience. The cask ale selection is carefully planned and normally in great condition. There's also a decent selection of craft bottles, not in the Standing Order league however. Toilets are better than average, if something of a route march from the bar. Recommended.
A. S.
Really nice place to chill. We stopped of for a bottle of wine before getting on the train
V. D.
I use this place regularly for meals, social purposes, & as a meet up point. Situated in Derby City Centre. The place can get busy, especially on football match days, so don't expect to get served too quickly. Management always look stressed & miserable, & rarely break a smile. Bar staff are friendly, & on busy days, look shattered, but at least, can have a laugh with you. Meals are well cooked, & i find the menu quite boring, as with most 'Wetherspoon' pubs. We all know they have a very wide range of guest beers, wines & spirits. It needs a little bit of renovation work undertaking, i.e;- plumbing & roofing, regular customers have noticed over time, but is still worth visiting nevertheless.
R. L.
Good prices, ok service if near the bar. Can use app for ordering
C. F.
Well I normally have breakfast at wetherspoon. You can t beat there quality and price. But got there a bit late so had dinner think it was called triple chicken really enjoyed it they are starting to accomodation I stayed in one in Penzance it was really really nice .
T. F.
Nice breakfast and Coffee.
M. T.
Not a bad place... more a heavy drinker pub though.
p. d.
This Pub has free live entertainment Monday club is the best day for this. Disabled access for all the mobility scooters. Friendly service.
B. B.
You know what you're getting here, it's a Spoons pub. The Babbington Arms is a friendly little Wetherspoons pub, with a modest selection of booze and a nice little outdoor smoking area. The staff are all really nice and always up for a chat and a bit of banter. The selection of beer and floor-space is somewhat hampered by how small the bar is, but in a city centre, you can't really complain about that.
If you want a cheap drink before moving onto the clubs, or if you're looking for a hearty meal that won't destroy your wallet, you can do a lot worse.
M. S.
Beermats ipa was great today
M. C.
I could not expect more for such prices.
A wide range of cheap beers, good offers, dishes and snacks for reasonable prices + free Wi-Fi :) Great place to drink or eat.
I highly recommend the dish + beer offer.
a. n.
I enjoyed coming here to Babington Arms on my own and it's also lovely going for drinks with friends on Christmas eve. Staff are friendly food is great enjoying couple of drinks Lots people at the pub which was nice to see
O. C.
My favourite of the 3 Wetherspoons in Derby. Staff are always polite and the manager, I believe he is because he usually wears a different shirt to the others, anyway he is a delightful young man, always polite and on hand to help people.
K. C.
Lovely place and cheap
C. 2.
Perfectly ok Wetherspoons but not in the top 50% and neither as nice or well looked after (sticky tables etc) as the other one in Derby, near the cathedral. Better to go there if you're intent on Spooning it.
V. B.
It's the same menu at all Wetherspoons but I felt it was prepared a bit better than I've had in other places. Good value as usual.
A. C.
Food and drink was to the usual standard for a Weatherspoons. Very busy, city pub.
j. n.
It was very busy for a thursday lunch. However still found a table for me and little lady. We shared a deli lunch. Very tasty and great customer service
N. W.
Busy when we visited but it was a Friday lunchtime but the service was very quick (unusual for a Wetherspoons in my experience) and the ale was superb, well worth a visit if this one experience is anything to go by.
A. W.
We have been meeting up with my mother in law here for the past two weeks for breakfast and a catch upand really like it here. The only downside for me personally is that Iwould like to be able to have wholemeal bread as I'm following a Slimming World plan and have to "syn point" white bread, which excuse the CV pun but eats into my daily allowance of syns. I have asked for wholemeal but was told that they don't have it.
I. H.
Popped in for a quick pint bit rough and ready
K. H.
Food arrived quickly and was well cooked. Quality of food not as good as it used to be, but that's true of all Wetherspoons. Friendly staff.
J. B.
A comfy, down to earth place. Nice little coves for up to four to hide in near the back too. Friendly and helpful staff. One of our favourite local Whetherspoons.
Also, perfectly situated for a meal and a drink before taking a short walk to the Showcase Cinema de Lux for a film, just around the corner via the only pedestrian entrance to the big shopping centre that's open late at night (the one by the large Poundland.)
P. K.
Had a great day out ,was amazed at a ladies till skills....she was amazing....she had served everyone & in some cases dealt with everything&all that i nearly went & bought her a superwoman costume.....well-done SOPHIE.....& p.s thanks.
R. S.
Much quieter than the other one in town! Not the most scenic other than that it's good.
T. W.
Took a long time to get drink because only one till open the second one was cards only would have made sense to open for cash when busy .as he was standing there doing note
S. D.
Great beer selection, with plenty of real ales from local breweries. Other than that, it's a Wetherspoons so you pretty much know what you're going to get.
J. C.
Bit of an old fashioned pub but food is always nice, quick service and you can even use the app to order. Reasonable prices and always welcoming.
A. G.
Always friendly staff and great atmosphere and prices. Lovely place for a meal or a night out, vegan options available too.
N. T.
When we visited this pub it was around lunch time and was fairly busy, despite this we found the service was quite quick on this particular day but like most pubs it can get very busy.

The place is very tired looking and needs money spending on it, but the mixed grill meal that we had was as good as any other Wetherspoons.

Good value food and drink with friendly staff.
The pub is due a refurbishment as it's had a lot of use over the years.

A very nice weatherspoon ! Spacious and cosy, the food and drinks are good.
One minor thing: they should clean the tables more often, they are sometimes sticky
J. J.
I have been there several times and the food has always been great and is kept in top condition.
T. O.
Nice place but could do with free teabags so you don't have to keep asking like there is sugar and milk but love the place I always pop in when around the area.

You know what you're getting here, it's a Spoons pub. The Babbington Arms is a friendly little Wetherspoons pub, with a modest selection of booze and a nice little outdoor smoking area. The staff are all really nice and always up for a chat …
N. T.
When we visited this pub it was around lunch time and was fairly busy, despite this we found the service was quite quick on this particular day but like most pubs it can get very busy.
