A great local pub. Visited for a private party and we were well looked after. All staff were friendly and professional. Food was superb. The pie was loaded with meat and was very tasty. Nothing was a problem for the staff. 2 enjoyable ales were available (Harvest Pale and Bass). I would definitely visit again.

We knew of the good reputation of this pub through friends who know it. We went to a private function - a celebration of a dear friend's life, actually - and it was excellent. The hospitality provided was excellent and the atmosphere was comfortable and friendly. The parking is easy. The whole experience was very positive.

Myself, Wife and 2 teenagers had 3 sirloin steaks and the Aberdeen Angus burger. The food was excellent, the steaks, all medium rare were succulent. Just one criticism that prevents 5 star plus is the table size, for 4 us we were just too cramped and ended up adding an additional double table to ours to make it comfortable to enjoy our meal. The staff were excellent, very welcoming andcattentive

Basically a good pub and restaurant with good beer and food. Sadly let down by not being dog friendly in the bar. You have to stay in the garden, not much fun when raining or the winter. The Malt at Aston a little further on is worth the extra mile. They are very dog friendly with exceptional good beer and food.

Visiting the area for a trackday at Donnington park needed a good meal after a long day. This place did not dissapoint. The Beef and Stilton pie in particular was incredible as were our other meals also very good value. Staff friendly and attentive and a good atmosphere. Will be back when we return to the area!

Passed this quaint place many times over the years and never called in. Lovely village setting too. Ample car parking at the rear with a bit of a beer garden. Inside is cozy but does get busy. We arrived at 7pm and had no problem finding a table which was clean and not sticky. This place does seem to be very popular and soon started to fill up. Food was ordered, I had home made steak n ale pie with chips. My partner had something with a salmon steak. Excuse my ignorance but I cant remember exactly what she had. I've had many steak n ale pies over the years and this is by far the best I've ever had. Staff we very attentive and polite. Though our visit cost slightly more compared to a similar country pub, the quality overall made it worth it. So we shall definitely be back to The Harrington very soon.

We had a takeaway Sunday roast for valentines day. Easy to order and the covid-safe collection system is done really well. The food was absolutely superb. Looking forward to ordering again and going for a sit down meal when things are more normal again.

We went for Sunday lunch last week which was excellent. The food arrived promptly and hot. Excellent choices on the menu, portions were large and were delicious . There was loads of meat, roasts and new potatoes, cauliflower cheese, cabbage carrots and broccoli so loads of fresh veg. Something I have never had was 2 huge home made Yorkshire puddings and loads of tasty gravy. We were full to bursting but forced treacle tart down...home made. Excellent value for money with choice of 1,2 or 3 courses for slightly more for each course. There was about 6 choices for each course with vegetarian. My relative said the beer was great...proper beer. The service was excellent. Although the pub was full with diners we were promptly seated, order taken and delivered in 5 minutes. The Harrington serves great homemade traditional pub food at a competitive price and excellent service.

We stopped here by chance prior to travelling South. We wanted proper food not motorway service s**t. Omg it was fantastic. The Sunday Roasts look amazing but as vegetarians we had the mushroom risotto. When it arrived it was shortly followed by the arrival of incredible veg. Cauliflower cheese, carrots, broccoli and cabbage. Everything was served piping hot and perfectly cooked. The best pub meal I've ever had and I'm 57. Definitely worth a visit.

Due to Covid restriction weve been waiting just over 2years to return to this wonderful pub. We booked a 1.30 table in the restaurant for Saturday. Oh my God, it was so worth the wait. The food is fantastic (proper hot plates too) and the place was full as usual. I had the very popular Steak pie, the best pies I've ever had. Vegetables perfect , fantastic pint of Bass too. The whole place is quality. The staff are attentive and lovely. I popped in to the kitchen to congratulate the chef on her food. One of my my favourite places to eat . Cant wait to return in a few weeks. Mmmm

I have been eagerly waiting to return to the Harrington Arms after my visit last year. My wife and i took an elderly friend ( she is a regular visitor there ). Friday lunch at 1.00 and the place was full, always a good sign. I knew what i wanted before i had got there , the stunning Beef and Ale pie everyone goes on about washed down with a pint of the best Bass ive had for ages. My friend had a pie also ,my wife had chicken and mushroom pie. The server Anita was lovely ( as are all the staff to be fair), the plates were hot ,as they should be. We had Garlic mushrooms to start with...Mmmm. The pies arrived in their own individual dish with only the ´melt in your mouth' pastry on top of beautifully cooked tender tasty beef . The vegetables arrived perfectly cooked with a full gravy boat too. I don't normally drink ale whilst eating food but the Bass complimented the pie perfectly. My wife eat what she could ( the portions are very generous ) . We asked if we could take the left over pie home in a doggy bag and they put them in a nice takeaway pack. Even though we were full to bursting, we still shared a sherry trifle between 3 of us. I must compliment Shelia the Chef on her fantastic food. This is pub grub at its best . Completely home made and freshly cooked. I eat at a few nice pubs in and around my village and this one is the best by far, Excellent. Cant wait to come again in the very near future .

Recently moved to the area and have been going to the Harrington Arms for a couple of months now. The staff are brilliant and make you feel welcome. The food is really tasty too and great value for money. Plenty of parking available, and i would recommend to give this place a try.

I requested a table in the dining room which was decorated very nice, probably best to book ahead at the weekend. There is a variety of food to order on the menu and the portions are rather large so you might not need starters depending on your appetite. Will be visiting again!

We will do the same next year as there were no complaints this year either. Needless to say The Harrington has our recommendation. UPDATE: We did indeed have our Pre Christmas meal here again this year, 2019, and we have decided to come here again in 2020. The food is well made and the staff deal with our number very efficiently. Highly recommended 👍

Really nice food, homemade (not freezer into microwave) serve to your table with separate veg,ask for more and they'll bring it. Ask about two courses,starter and main menu both for £9.95 and they are full portions. You'll need to walk it off after so head for Elvaston Castle.

They should reduce the portion sizes and up the quality of the food for the prices. For instance, the lasagne with chips is easily enough for two people, but is very cheesy, with a rather uninspired salad and coleslaw. Better quality in much smaller quantity would be much better for the £11 charged.

5*****+ Food is excellent..... Sunday lunch is a must. .... from the Landlord all the way through to the resident cat very friendly. ... quite afew beers/ales to choose from.. Been going there for over 10yrs & always met with a warm greeting...... The pub is that good we had our Wedding there......which was left to the Landlord & Landlady to plan from food/drinks to a Marquee erected in the beer garden. .......alot of our guests said it was one of tge best wedding's they had been to.......even the landlord wrote in our book how proud he was to host our wedding. ..... You will not find abetter pub in Derby than The Harrington Arms in Thulston
