I visited The Markeaton on my Birthday yesterday they serve great food and drinks. The staff were very polite and looked after my every need i would highly recommend this pub for families it also has a large beer garden for the kids to run riot. I can't fault this pub.

Such a lovely pub and great food. Staff are so friendly and welcoming. In the winter they the fire is on so it’s lovely and cosy, in the summer there is a ample sized beer garden so is ideal all year round! They also do beautiful cocktails which you just can’t say no to!

Called in for food and drinks chose their Dipping Burger which comes with a lovely Beef Dripping gravy for dunking purposes . The food was hot and fairly prompt service was good nice atmosphere and made a very good Cranberry and Soda . Would recommend plan to go back and try a steak with the sauce .

My granny's favourite eatery. She passed away in December 21 and this may be one of my last visits. The staff have always been lovely to her. The food had always had lots of great staple options, and a large glass of Merlot always accompanied the meal. The Markeaton will always have a special place....

Really nice ,cosy feeling to this place although it is quite a large pub.staff were really on it and very welcoming! The menu was classic pub but also some nice salad,fish and vegan options! Good choice of starters and delicious puddings! Also a set price lunch menu and lite bites! Good choice of beers and a very good atmosphere !

Great service. Easy order app. Large sunny garden. Lovely posh fish finger sandwich and a king prawn Marie rose ciabatta both with fries and good salad. Dirty fries with smokey pulled pork and cheese. 😋

We had a lunchtime meal there on 06.08.21 for 4 of us. The service was very quick indeed and there was hardly any wait for our meals. The meals themselves were freshly cooked and enjoyable and I have no hesitation in recommending the Markeaton for a meal.

Slightly disappointed. Lovely hot day and they refuse to allow food outside even if you take it yourself. So we sat indoors, the windows closed. How that is good for preventing the spread I don't know. However everything else was good, service fast and polite.

A nice pub, the 3 course meal had a good choice and was reasonable in price. Gentleman who was on the bar I entercountered a few times when also delivered food to our table was always polite and had a smile. Just had a "Light Bite", a pulled pork wrap with a bit of salad ,& a small bowl of crisps £5.45. It was ok, service was quite quick, when we asked for salad cream, we were brought a plastic bottle, which we had to remove the top from, & put a knife all around to scrape the salad cream off the sides of the bottle, as it was almost empty.!

We were looked after well at the special occasion we booked at the Markeaton. The food is brilliant and the atmosphere good. There is a toilet for the disabled and baby changing but it does need freshening up to make it pleasant in there.

Visited the markeaton today on our way back from a trip to mercia marina. I myself chose the red wine lasagne while the wife picked the pork belly. Both meals were excellent in taste and presentation, and I must say we're quite substantial. The staff working here today were really polite and professional. There was a fine selection of cask ales and all were at a reduced price today as I later found out this was not only for Easter Monday but for every Monday. Good atmosphere, tasty food, fine ales, all this with great service what more can you ask for, give it a try.
