Reviews of The Swan at Milton

Lovely little village pub. Not been here since 2015, great to see it again. Nice warm welcome, I will be back again sometime
J.
Great food with a varying menu. Often walk over with the dog as it seems so do many people. Always made to feel very welcome even on my first time visiting. Good beer, good food in a warm setting and welcoming environment, all at a good price. What more could you ask for?
d. r.
Nice pub with separate dining area. Good selection of gins. Staff are friendly and helpful
D. C.
Fantastic village pub, great atmosphere. New chef...new menu....and the food is exceptional. Olly and his team were so helpful and very attentive. I can only imagine this going from strength to strength. Thank you.

Had a delicious Greek meal here cooked by the wonderful chef Andreas who we've known for years. Lovely relaxed place with a friendly atmosphere & great staff & service. We will definitely be back. Loved it.

Absolutely spellbinding food and loveliest service I've recieved in a long time. I was all by myself & the staff made me feel so welcome and looked after but seriously, if you love exceptional food this place is well worth a visit!

One of the best locals around the region, plus excellent food from a small but great menu.

Fantastic, friendly staff. Great food, superb quiz nights!

Perfect little country pub with the added bonus of an incredible Greek restaurant. You have to try the Stifado, one of the best dishes Ive had in a long time.

Really lovely pub. Great selection of drinks, fantastic service and a cosy atmosphere.
P. S.
Homely and welcoming. Can't vouch for the food as I've not eaten there but if it's in line with their service and drinks selection it will be well worth it. Great real ale selection. Well worth a drop in or an extended stay!

We went for my father's 70th after one of favourite Greek restaurants shut down during covid 19, the food and service was amazing and turns out we met up with the previous owner of the restaurant we used to go to who is the chef here! Overall a very good experience Oliver was so good and had a good sense of humour which is hard to find these days and the food was exquisite by Andrea's as always! I will be back again soon!

Always love this little village pub, we have been going here now for the last 2 to 3 years since having new owners.
The staff are really polite and the owners are great as well.
The inside of the pub has been renovated over the years and has been done to a really nice standard, it has that proper village pub feel now.
They have two real fires which is really nice after a week working and you fancy a pint in your local.
Dogs are welcome as well, which is good after a walk.
The choice of beer is good and well poured and the wine served at the right temperatures.
I would definitely recommend a trip here for a pint or two.

Good homely country pub with well kept beer garden various activities advertised. Excellent service from friendly staff providing a good choice of constantly changing cask ales with Bass being the resident ale could go on but just enjoying this pint cheers

They fitted us in at short notice on a busy Friday evening. Food was all wonderful, starter plus two dishes each was plenty for a family of four. Thank you!

Really enjoyed our meal at the Swan. Lovely decor, attentive service and the Greek food was top notch. All for a very reasonable sum.

Really friendly pub. Fantastic selection of Gins on offer. The lunch menu was limited to a pie selection, with gravy, peas and mashed potato, but wow. Fantastic food. Definitely a thumbs up and will visit again soon.

Lovely village pub serving a variety of real ales. Cozy real fire and a warm welcome from friendly bar staff.
The Pub is under new ownership and the new owners are doing a great job of bringing out the best of this traditional village pub.

We had a lovely meal today at the Swan .There were seven of us the hospitality was second to none . A family run pub with great home made dishes, great value for money . Our meal was so fresh and tasty and hearty. We would definitely go back there again and we intend to. The pub has a very homely atmosphere. The puddings were to die for all made on the premises by the owners. Thank you so much .

Dropped in for a beer due to the close proximity of Foremark Reservoir. Great beer garden with an excellent choice of beers. The pub was welcoming and looked like a great atmosphere. I'll be returning for the excellent beer and hopefully a meal!

Great family run place, different beers and plenty of spirits. Great food too. The atmosphere is always friendly where no one is a stranger even if you’re visiting for the first time. Excellent country pub.
C. B.
Went for the Greek Tapas menu as we knew the chef Andreas, absolutely first class, it felt safe and the staff were very friendly and helpful, if you like Greek food look no further,
Will be back, highly recommended!

We regularly visit the Swan. One of our favourite pubs in South Derbyshire. The beer is always good but I do have one major gripe. Why is the smoking area right by the rear door which leads out into the lovely garden? We were sat there minding our own business when 3 ladies appeared and lit up simultaneously. We had no choice but to move. Could you please consider moving the smoking area further away from the pub. Do you know when the restaurant will be up and running again? Best regards Phil 😀

Very friendly village pub in a great countryside location. The cask ales are kept very well and some good wines on offer as well as an extensive gin menu. Well worth a visit.

I called today with my son and had an excellent pint of Bass. The pub looked spotless, the bar person was great, but it was a pity the locals were so hostile. They spent the whole time staring, as if I'd just landed from Mars. I was born and have lived in Derbyshire all my life!!!
R. F. G.
Really impressed with this pub today. We stopped for a quick pint at the end of a walk around Milton and Foremark. The beer was excellent, our dog very welcome, and the hot chocolate came with a top up! The land lords was very friendly and talked to our soon about Pokemon Go! He also fetched a bowl of water for our dog when I mentioned he was thirsty (I was going to get it out of my ruck sack). Very impressed and certainly a place we'll be visiting again.
A. O.
Proper Pub with a greater selection of Pies.
A. H.
Photos of food looked great. Upon arrival was told they no longer serve food, not even simple snacks such as sandwiches. Also they don't serve hot drinks such as teanor coffee. Better off in Repton or Ticknall. Shame as great village, great looking pub and little immediately local alternative.
S. S.
Food first class will definitely been going back ,the Bass beer is the second best pint I had
G. J.
