We really enjoyed having our lunch here. I had a hunters chicken wrap. It was nice to spend time eating &chatting & not feeling rushed to leave. It was a nice relaxed atmosphere. Just one thing I didn't expect was that I'd asked for no chips,so I just had wrap & salad. Was surprised no reduced was given for not having the full option. But perhaps I should have asked about this. Staff were very friendly. Prices were reasonable. We'd definately revisit!

A real old family style pub. The home cooked Sunday lunch is the tastiest meal for miles around. Booking is essential as the get booked up very quickly, it's no good turning up on the day because you won't get a table! It's fabulous food for a great price, all veggies are self service and if you can't eat it all on the day they'll plate up what you've left to take home with you. I very highly recommend this pub. Staff are friendly and very helpful. Enjoy your visit!!

Welcoming with good service. They fitted us in despite no booking fairly early Friday night. Pleasant and quite extensive outdoor seating. Food was welcome, well cooked and hot, can recommend the lasagne, scampi, steak, vegan burger and fish n chips. Good quality beer can definitely recommend Epiphany which is even better because it's locally brewed, also with 2 cocktails on tap! Only reservation with recommending them is I might not get a table next time!

Umm...the pub used to be a great venue for food and drink. We went on a Friday night. The chap serving us could have been a bit more friendly. The beer was agreeable and I hear the food is top notch. Not sure what is going on in the car park, but it's very untidy and unkempt. Please sort out for the next time we visit. Thanks. Would definitely recommend.

I've been using this pub for around ten years. It feels like a village pub and is very cosy. The staff are amazingly friendly and there's a great atmosphere. I've come here for birthday meals and Sunday lunch and always had a lovely time.

Nice local pub that has a good range of beer and serves food. Had a carvery which is really well-priced, everything is fresh and nicely cooked. Initially we were told we'd have a 40 min wait but it was actually only half an hour - you can't book so you have to be prepared to wait - it's worth asking before what the wait will be if you know you're very hungry.

Busy little pub with a great atmosphere. Food is fantastic value for money and the staff are always happy to help. Good selection of bottled and draft beers including some locally brewed ales. Nice little garden for the summer and they do show the football when it's on. I would highly recommend!

Although the pub is closed due to the lockdown, we have just used the takeaway service collecting a pizza, beer and wine from the kitchen at the rear of the building. It was delicious, freshly cooked straight out of the oven. Highly recommended - we'll be back!

What a hidden gem The White Swan is. It's a really great little place. The food is not your everyday run of the mill pub chain rubbish. It's good wholesome, home cooked food with good sized portions and not over priced. I had a steak and onion baguette and there was so much steak on it, absolutely no fat and it melted in the mouth. The staff are friendly, polite and attentive to your every need. Nothing's too much trouble for them. It's clean and welcoming with ample parking and a lovely outside covered area with plenty of seating. I liked it so much I've been twice in a week 😊 I definitely recommend it, give it a try, I guarantee you will not be disappointed 😊

Lovely local village pub. Its always absolutely heaving inside so if you want a table make sure you reserve. Great ales and food. Portion sizes are massive. Even the light bites are huge so you won't go hungry. Very friendly staff that always have a smile of their faces. We're always asked if we've enjoyed the food and if we're at the bar there's always chit chat with every bartender!

Despite looking slightly run down from the outside the interior has been well decorated. Serves a good pint and an exceptional carvery on Sunday. The staff are attentive and were very accommodating to the needs of my elderly grandparents.

The Swan is just the kind of pub I like. A friendly atmosphere makes for a relaxing time whether eating, drinking or both. The staff are very good (apart from the young chap behind the bar on 12-06-17, must have got out of bed on the wrong side!), with polite, helpful service and are happy to help with birthday's etc, bringing out cakes with lit candles (which I forgot but they provided some) to blow out whilst singing Happy Birthday. The food is always excellent too, never had a bad meal and its not that awful portion control rubbish that pub chains churn out but proper fresh cooked nosh. Get there early on busy evenings to assure getting a seat to eat as they don't take food orders after 8pm and you need 5 or more people dining to be able to reserve a table. All in all a great place to go!

Excellent range of beers, nice friendly atmosphere/bar staff and an excellent Sunday roast (although you may have to wait half an hour or so for a Sunday table if they're busy). Sunday roast is less than £8 per person and can load up with as much veg as you can fit on your plate! Only slight negative about the Swan is that it can be very busy when football is on.

We had an indifferent experience at The White swan. We had booked our table for 7pm and although we were on time, it took an eternity for the waiting on staff to take our order. I suspect that the problem was the size of our group. If I was the manager, I would restrict the maximum number to 8. It was 8.30 by the time any food arrived. To be fair the food was fine, well cooked and seasoned. Might be an idea to avoid the weekends if you want to see the pub at it's best. Would definitely go back

I have dined at this pub many times and have always found the food to be of a very high standard at a reasonable price. You need to book a table most days and they do not take bookings for the carvary on a Sunday (which is really good value for what you get). You just leave your name at the bar and you then get a table when available.

My friend and I frequent the Whie Swan on a regular basis. Purely for the Sunday Carvery...Have to say it's the best in Derby! The bar staff , wait staff and kitchen staff are friendly. courteous and efficient. It does get busy on a Sunday..but even with a long wait, it's well worth it!

Ordered a carvery for collection at a allocated time for it to not be ready for another 15 minutes and then items missing from the order. Whilst waiting, there were no social distancing in place and it was rammed and felt unsafe. The gentleman behind the bar was of no assistance in chasing up the food order.

Good chips, well spiced veggie curry, average Pub fayre but a wide variety of ale including Castle Rock - Harvest Pale (which I believe there's a reasonable following for in Derbyshire) Good mix of folk in attendance however let down slightly by the bad parking by a number of the patrons when I attended. Nice stop off if you're out that way, nothing too fancy. Also has a dartboard in a 'sportier area' of the pub which is quite against the norm for a city pub but a refreshing addition nonetheless.

Only a three star just because we didn't didn'tknow they didn't accept credit cards so my husband had to venture off to find a cash machine, and the fact that they don't take bookings and had to wait a long time for a table to seat 6. A group of people wanting a table for 7 came in after us and many 4s and 2s and all were seated before we were. Also the fact I am a vegetarian and the gravy tasted alot like meat, so I was put off my meal. The rest of my family are all meat eaters so no issue there. The food otherwise was excellent, the place is lovely and cosy, staff friendly plenty of choice on the carvery. Just wish they had a suitable area for waiting (not stood in with everyone eating) or a booking facility if this can't be done, as it wasn't nice for my elderly relative to stand around waiting, as she can't manage the stools around the bar. My children also got very restless. Otherwise I really recommend the place, just when it is quiet.

Decent local in one of the more rural areas of Littleover. It's nothing special on the outside (or inside for that matter) but the staff and regulars are very friendly, even if you've never visited before. They have all the usual pub assets - food, Sky telly, pool table - and a couple of benches outside for when it's sunny. It's right beside a road, so probably not suitable for those with small children in tow. Oh, and it's really cheap. Perfect for when you want a drink and chat but can't be doing with the hassle of going to town.
