First time visiting this establishment, didn't really know what to expect. On walking in we were greeted straight away and taken to our seats. The table was lovely and clean and not sticky like some you find. The waiter was busy cleaning tables nice and thorough. We had the carvery and the kids ordered off the menu which they didn't take long to arrive and the waitress came over and said the meals wouldn't be long If we wanted to get our carvery. Which was a lovely touch. The carvery was absolutely gorgeous, everything about it was lovely nothing to fault at all. Staff were lovely enjoyed the whole experience. We shall return.

I booked a table for 17 people, but when we arrived we had been given an area of the restaurant, much appreciated but nobody said if you wish to move the tables you can. In the end we moved the tables ourselves do we were all sat together at one table. Those of us who had carvery were a little disappointed, the Yorkshire puddings were very hard, lovely flavour but cold and hard. The veg was nice but again quite cold. The meat was lovely. Everyone who ordered main menu were delighted with their meals, the steaks were cooked to perfection. The ambiance was great, we enjoyed the fun evening and the staff were very helpful and pleasant. I've no doubt we could be back again in the future. Maybe the carvery people will order from the main menu next time. 🙂 Thank you.

Brilliant place and friendly staff, the staff are always very polite and cannot do enough for you. The food is always BRILLIANT too. Carvery everyday with top selection of meats and veg etc. There's always offers on too!! Don't just take my word tho, Take the wife,friends,family all are always welcome!! A lovely place for a carvery. I have been coming here since i was like 9 maybe even before. It is a staple in my family for a place to go to eat for someone’s birthday and we are never disappointed. Amazing value for money. Lovely staff who always make you feel welcome. Nice ambiance. Good drinks.

I came into the House Martin (Wheatley, Doncaster) for a carvery meal with Myself, My Son, My Mum and My Grandad. It was on the 28th August 2022 that we came in to eat. It was a Sunday. We were greeted at the door and served by Linzi. She was so friendly and happily engaged in talking. She was efficient in her work and very thorough. She came across like she wanted to provide us with the best eating experience we could have and she pulled it off to a tea! Very nice family oriented atmosphere. Came today with family. Clean, great atmosphere and prices. Sophie and Helen was extremely polite and helpful. Sophie took our pudding orders from our table and even went out her way to make sure I got exactly what i asked for which wasn’t even on the menu. We will 100% be returning and was very happy with our visit. Table was cleared not long after we finished, then offered puddings and orders took, which arrived in less than 10 minutes! We really enjoyed our visit, we were a large party of 12 all ordering different meals, our food all came out together with no issues. The food was lovely and deserts. The only point I would make is it was extremely hot where we were and there was no aircon. But we all enjoyed our visit and will be back in future.

The food were lovely and the staff are amazing especially Lindsay, she made everything magical for kids and was very interactive. There was a kids party for the Queens Jubilee and kids all loved it, very entertaining for them. We've been a few times and we're never disappointed.

You always get a good carvery here with plenty of choices. Most times we book a table for the family, but sometimes when we go just on a whim, we walk in and manage to get a table within 10mins. Mostly straight away. Staff are very friendly and helpful.

Come here at least once a week for a meal. The service is always fantastic and me and my husband have never had a bad meal. The bar staff and serving staff are always so polite, friendly and will go out of their way to help. In particular, we always get above and beyond service from Jo, Helen, Lindsay and Jane. We genuinely enjoy coming here - no other chain pubs have such a friendly/family feel to them.

We frequent this pub on a regular basis, and have come across the most professional, friendly, customer focused staff and management. As soon as you walk through the pub door, you are greeted with a friendly warm welcome, and served at the bar promptly and efficiently. All the staff are exceptional, which makes it a very comfortable, homely experience. On this occasion we have to give a special mention to Linzi, who is one of the friendliest, funniest members of staff we have come across. Undecided what to eat Linzi recommended the beef madras curry, which was delicious, the best we've had in a long time, and served drinks at the bar quickly with a big smile. Linzi is a breath of fresh air and would be welcomed by any establishment. Thank you.

Visited for the first time while out doing some shopping. What a wonderful experience, such a lovely and friendly pub. We we're served by Jayne and she really looked after us, she was so friendly asking about our day and paying attention to the baby with us. We also got talking to a couple in the beer garden with a couple of dogs. I assume they are regulars as they only had positive things to say about the place. I will definitely be visiting again next time I'm nearby.

I have not visited here for a long time before Covid. I was pleasantly surprised to be met at the door and efficiently dealt with. Procedures explained and asked to sit at designated table. All of the staff were pleasant and seemed genuinely interested in your experience. There was definitively a nice vibe about the place with a mix of ages of customers. It will be on my list again.

The 5 of us enjoyed Mother's Day....they found a lovely table for us that would be great for my Dad as he remains in his wheelchair. Glad I booked as it was really busy. They had no Pasta which was a shame as it's all my husband eats so he made do with chips and garlic bread.....and enjoyed chocolate cake for dessert. The carvey was lovely gammon delicious. We visited on a cold and windy Sunday, it was extremely busy and we were really pleased that we were able to obtain a table in a few minutes. We opted for steak and ale pie as the Carvery had long queue’s. We were not disappointed, the pie was excellent served with carrots and peas and chunky chips. We both agreed it was the best meal we had eaten out in a while. The staff were attentive and friendly and our meals and desserts were delivered really quickly. Upon arrival we were shown to a table which was too small for 3 of us but despite being really busy, our request to be moved to a bigger table was met immediately. The queue to order food and drinks was quite long but it moved along quickly and the man that served us was very friendly and efficient. Partner had cowboy burger which he enjoyed. Myself and daughter opted for the carvery, which was very enjoyable apart from the beef which was tough and chewy and as a result we ended up leaving most of it.

Warm welcome. Pleasant, cheerful staff. Quality of the beef I had was fabulous. The meat my husband and mother-in-law was beautiful too. If there was a tiny downside it's that the mashed potato was 'gluey' but I had the roasts instead and they were great.

Enjoyed a Carvery here, it was pleasant enough food, badic carvery which was OK, however we we're very rushed from entering the venue, pointed to where to sit, I appreciate it was a busy Sunday, but to make us feel rushed to sit down, without any advice about eating there, we didn't know if it was table service, eventually realised you have to go to the bar to order drinks then pay for whatever you wish to eat and given a ticket to hand in if using the Carvery. In terms of the meal, it was fine. Enjoyed what I chose (Beef) all cooked well enough, and I would eat there again, for a basic Sunday Carvery, it provided what we wanted.

This was my first visit to this venue, very clean, friendly and "safe" establishment. All the staff were welcoming, professional and helpful. Excellent and efficient service, with good adherence to covid guidelines. Brilliant food and drinks choices at reasonable prices. As a fully vaccinated, vulnerable person, i felt comfortable whilst in the venue although it would've been nice to have a QR code to enable me to "check-in" to the venue and i would personally prefer it if more customers were wearing masks whilst waiting to be served. The carvery was absolutely delicious and even though i have a very restricted diet, the choices/options available and staff were very accommodating. Everything was fresh, full of flavor and most probably the best carvery I've ever eaten.

We arrived and were greeted by a friendly, smiling face, politely asked to sanitise our hands and grab a couple of recyclable menus and then told we were allowed to sit wherever we wanted. The kind lady also mentioned that things were 'pretty much back to normal' so we were allowed to place our orders at the bar like the old days. The wait for the food was a bit long but we didn't even need to ask for an update as the lady came to apologise for the wait and explained what happened. Shortly after that our food arrived and it was cooked to perfection - best chips I've had in a long time and really great service! Clean place, friendly staff, great food! We will be back!

Very very very loud music/singer much to loud for size of venue. We went for xmas meal which was really nice spoilt by the noise. When we went in place was busy by 9.15pm there were probably less than 20 people think theyd been driven away by noise.

Father's day meal booked the web site said carvery now open To go up choose what you want and a member of staff would carry plate back to the table though I don't see the point just pass it to the customer to carry back less people touching the plates but that wasn't the case had to order at the table. Lady that served us was pleasant and helpful but the gent on the door was abrupt not very welcoming pointed to the table said that's yours the table with the green chairs and off he went. Food was OK bit pricey for the portion size (which had definitely gotten smaller). Just on a side note if you used a serviette to carry the plates to the table it would lessen the amount of times the plate is touched

Great family pub with great food. The carvery here is amazing, I've never seen a carvery give you so much meat with your meal. The main menu is varied and offers something for all appetites including a range of vegetarian options. Then again, it's not pricey, so you get what you pay for. We had the 'carvery' - I didn't know what it was. Now that I've had it, I won't have it again. The meat was passe', the roast beef tough, the pigs in a blanket left me cold. Service was good, ambiance pleasant, beer selection fair; although two craft taps were being changed leaving me only a few selections. I would come back but for another selection to see if the meal is better. There are no pics as the meal wasn't worth photographing.

It was very busy, sign at door said "wait to be seated" which we did, 1 min later we were shown to a table, we had the carvery, so ordered at the bar along with our drinks, we were given a ticket to take to the carvery where there is a selection of meats carved fresh in front of you and served on a plate with yorkshire puds and stuffing if you want them, the plate is then handed to you and you help yourself to a good selection of veg and roast/mashed potatoes. Everything was cooked almost to perfection (i say almost as peoples tastes differ). The staff were all polite and professional without exception, young and older alike. I went there for lunch with my friends yesterday, (Thursday 18th May) but had forgotten to take my specs with me so had difficulty reading the menu. I jokingly asked Julie our waitress if she had a pair of glasses about her, and she said , "no, but I can get you some, hold on a second", and came back a minute later with some reading glasses! I was so impressed I told her that I would nominate her for employee of the week!! She was lovely, as were the other girls who were on the same shift as Julie. Unfortunately I didn't get their names, but they were all very attentive, very friendly, and went out of their way to help my vegetarian friend who is also gluten intolerant, to choose from the menu, even behind the scenes, the chef helped advise her too and even made her some coleslaw without mayo. It made our visit a very very happy one, and we will definitely make it a regular place to visit for lunch and recommend it to others too. Thank you so much for the excellent customer service!! Welcoming family pub. I love the ales. The carvery is well done and tasty. I wouldn't mind more veg sides but can't complain about the quantity of meat or the quality.

Very tasty carvery. Wanted a table for two and were told we would have to wait 15 minutes but we obtained our drinks and thr table was then ready ....a maximum of 5 minutes wait....impressed.
