Lovely little pub, extensive menu, polite welcoming staff, food portions are very generous & the food we were served was lovely although the beef on the carvery was a little tough, my steak was cooked to perfection, will certainly be returning

havent been here for several years dont know why but food was fantastic from home made soups to mains and desserts stay were really good nothing too much trouble for them . would recommed this to anyone. the soup was leek and potatoe i personnaly dont care for soup but tried husbands and was really good i would order it myself as that good in future.

Called here 4 the first time Saturday 29th Oct, nice little pub barman was very welcoming and friendly and the staff were polite. food was lovely, only thing the toilets could do with being a bit more cleaner. The decorations for Halloween were very good, overall a really nice little traditional pub.

Easy Five Stars From Us. Hubby and I came for our first time and had a great experience and delish food. I was craving Homemade Fish and Chips so I ordered that and it tasted phenomenal - and I don't normally say that about fish and chips so that's saying a lot. I got the small order and it was still a hefty size, enough I couldn't finish sadly. My hubby ordered the Homemade Cauliflower Cheese & Stilton Bake with Creamy Mash and Veg and oh my god that was delicious too! You can tell the food is house made and done right, the prices were good and the menu extensive. The staff were sooo lovely - I'm think it's family run and it may have even been the family serving us. They were layed back, helpful and kind and you could tell that they put love into their business. Right as you walk through the door there is a sign that states the name of the owners/staff welcoming you warmly inside. It was such a nice meal and I wanted to make a point to write a good review in hopes that people will choose this place to eat and have a great experience like we did!

An absolute amazing place for food. I've never heard anyone be negative! If they were then there would be something wrong. You get more than your money's worth and never wall away hungry. Staff are all so pleasant too.

2020 Covid review. Hand sanitiser on the way in. All staff wearing masks. Always good food. We came here for my aunts 80th birthday. We've been here twice and the food and service have always been good. there's free parking and wifi. You can sit outside or inside. I had the fish and chips for £7.50. There was lots of it and it was tasty. They have their own pale ale on tap at the moment but I think it was a little off as there was a slightly sour aftertaste 2019 review Really nice pub food. Free parking. Free wifi. Service was fast and friendly. A couple of decent cask beers. The food was nice and filling and very tasty. My fish and chips was only 7 Quid

Huge portion sizes! I had chinese special curry. I wasnt a huge fan but that was more to do with my tastes than the quality. My friend had lasagne. Her only complaint was it was lasagne, chips, salad, peas and garlic bread all with large amounts of each. But if you want good quality and value for money. Definitely would be back. Ive been goin here since i was a child and will continue to go. Lovely staff and beautiful inside and outdoor area.

The ship has a lovely, big, play area outside the pub near the car park and seating area. The food was lovely but the plates were cold, my husband sent his plate back to be warmed up, lovely seating areas inside to accommodate customers.Area in car park for hook up for motorhomes, caravans etc.

A word of warning about this place, they do very generous portions of lovely delicious home cooked food. Please be aware of this before you go. You'll have a hard time clearing your plate 😀. Popped in today for a quick drink. Ended up stopping for a Sunday Dinner Carvery. I liked it as they bring it to you. Had the medium size and it was fantastic and very tasty. Feel bad for giving 3 stars as the carvery I had was pretty good but we had two meals totally nearly £40 and the steak was overcooked and too tough to even chew/eat. They did give us some money off our bill which was a nice gesture

Just popped in here for evening drinks with friends. Loads of places to sit. The outside tables were beautifully painted and maintained. Great outside play area. Nothing was too much trouble. Bar staff bought extra seats so we could sit at one table, but still maintain social distance. Bar staff all using sanitiser. The toilets were spotless! We didn't eat but the food looked delicious. An absolutely fantastic meal, we stopped on the way through for a bite to eat, and were not disappointed. Greeted by the friendliest staff on planet earth, only a very brief wait for our meals to be served, freshly cooked and were very tasty. the chef brought us some samples on sausage that he had freshly made that day, they were that nice we asked if they sold them to take home, which they did so we took two bags back home. the meals were fantastic. the staff were wonderful. the price, well the price blew me away, very very reasonable. will definitely be going again in the very near future. thank you and i wish you every success

They are really trying to clean and do this place up a little, which is great to see as we would like this to be our regular, however the food is always hit and miss, it's such a shame it's a gamble whether or not to eat there, even the simple stuff can be a let down, other times it's nice. The play area is fab for the little ones and could settle there for a good couple of hours if they would just replace the fence to the car park, those with little ones are forever having to run after them to stop the running into the car park.

Is there a need to reinvent the carvery? Nope, and the Ship Inn doesn't even try. Loads of wonderfully cooked meat with a good selection of veg and a dessert which was free on the day we went - all from £6.95. Didn't have to book although it did start getting busy later on. I live local and have to say I have tried most of the restaurants in the area with some really nice ones nearby in Bawtry. But have to say the Ship Inn delivers in everyway. Price: Cheap as chips Food quality: If you enjoy hearty pub food then you wont find better! Service: Great couldn't ask for more! + they have my favourite tipple Blacksheep!
