Had meal there over Christmas. Nice atmosphere. The staff were helpful and friendly. Very good choice of beers . The food was well presented. My lasagne was piping hot as it should be fresh from the over . My wife's bangers and mash was again well presented, but could have a bit warmer . All in a pleasant experience. Well done the management.

Went in with family yesterday 20/11/22 what a lovely atmosphere. Also food was excellent nicely cooked and plenty as well also could off had extra without paying. Also good choice of drinks and the staff were very helpful and friendly looking forward too going again soon cheers

Such a warm welcome from behind the bar as soon as we walked in. Staff very friendly and accommodating. The bar itself is clean and tidy and feels homely wherever you’re sat. Live sports visible from wherever you’re sat, what more could you ask for. I’ll be returning for sure!!

It was good. However we looked looked at a few menus around Bawtry and they are all serving very simulator meals. Maybe change a few offers like pie & mash with peas and gravey. Pie and chips, salmon with rice, salad or new potatoes and veg. Meat filled Yorkshire pudding that sort of thing 😋 👌

The sandwich was great and the chicken tasted good and was plentiful, can't say the same about the chips - can't have been more than a dozen, however the meal came with a free soft drink. Turkpike is a great local pub with nice food and great cheap drinks! Adam is a great landlord who really cares about his customers! Would 100% recommend when our and about in Bawtry! Strictly 5*.

Nice setting. Staff were friendly food was very good. Cocktails are really nice. Nice atmosphere as the night went on and great music. I would say that they definitely need more staff on the que at the bar was constant. We waited 25mins for drinks ordered on the table app only to find when we did go and ask at the bar they must be a glitch on the system because they haven't gone through. The table next to us asked for their deposit back and left because of the waiting time. Shame really could be a five 5 but falling short on some areas.

We stopped by for a break in a long journey for lunch with our two teenage kids and our little black dog. What a find! Attentive cheerful staff, nice menu, and a comfy table. As far as pub food goes this was a step above! Every member of our group was happy with their meal, and me and the wife know only too well what it's like having two fussy teenagers. We left feeling content and refreshed. If we weren't just passing through this place would be a regular for us for sure.

First time in for a meal now refurbished and taken over by Stonegate franchise, the pub has been brightened up a lot and looks and feels a lot fresher. Meals are limited to the same pub Menu as the other pubs in the franchise , pretty standard and bland ok for a quick snack if nothing else.

The turnpike is a very nice pub,we went on Saturday night it was an eighties themed night,dj playing was very good playing all the eighties classics, great atmosphere what more do you need. Would definitely recommend a visit if you are in bawtry top night. We will definitely be returning 👍🏻.

Just been in for a drink and a meal and the menu wasn't that great...Ended up finding something in the end to then be told its not available and then told the next thing wasn't available.. Told them they need to change their menu.. Bit ridiculous really.. Also no draught ale as well.. Ended up having to have something I don't really drink.. Not a great experience in all fairness.

We were meeting up for pre-meal drinks and had met up there in 2017 and found plenty of seating available. But unfortunately this was not the case in 2018. It appears that the pub has gone down the food road, and unfortunately there was little or no seating available for guests who just wanted to have a social drink. It was also quite uninviting with almost a cold feeling. There were only two bar staff so getting served was a very slow process. I waited nearly five minutes before I was served by a very sullen man who kept pushing his greasy fringe back. Hand hygiene needs to be taught apparently!!!!!!!!! 👿 😈 😠 😡 All in all a not very good experience. Sullen staff, nowhere to sit, long wait to be served, poor hygiene.

Came in late on Sunday afternoon, the Sunday roast menu was nice and fairly priced. I had the lamb, the meat was a bit dry. The soup was great, as well as the side orders coming with the main course. Big servings... Friendly staff, good brews.

Visited this pub whilst staying locally and it's a lovely little pub! Very friendly from the off and they pull a nice pint. Plenty of seating inside, to the front and the back. Has sports on the tv and do various events on a night. Only thing that prevented them from getting 5 stars is the price of drinks. £3.80 for a pint of fosters. Newcastle quayside isn't even that expensive. All in all definitely worth a visit even if it is just for one.

A little disappointed with the menu. Went to the pub on Saturday for a few beers and thought we could get some sharer platters or something to go with the drinks but unfortunately they don't sell them. Be good if they could add some nachos, chicken skewers or something to the menu.

Had two lovely sunday lunches, slow service did let the side down but this was down to the kitchen staff. The owner had to spend a fair bit of time apologising to customers for the wait. Once the kitchen staff have had a "shake up" the unit will run like clockwork. Looking forward to next time.

A lovely pub i came for my 18th, the bar staff were really nice and helpful and the place its self was clean and there was plenty of seating both inside and outside ( heated outdoor heating ) the drinks arent cheap but its worth the extra for the use of the seating and heated areas, my only complaint is the music it was mostly classical with some disney and it killed the mood a little.
