A rare treat, to find a traditional pub, with top notch food, which isn't part of a generic chain. Stopped for a family lunch with 3 x steak pie enthusiasts and I can say it was absolutely fantastic. Loved the slightly haphazard presentation (gravy slightly off the plate!) as it was all about the flavour. One of the best I've ever had. Was around a tenner, great value, and the kids burger my 8 year old had was about £6 or so, real brioche bun, well toasted, real cheese melted on (not some cheese single). Just so refreshing to see somewhere that's still doing things properly. Thanks for a great lunch!

We were staying nearby and chose The Bruce Arms for a meal. There were 3 of us. When we arrived the place was heaving and there was only one table in the bar, which we used. Our drinks and food order were quickly taken, and within what seemed like a short space of time, delivered to our table. We were served by a young girl who was just lovely. We were not disappointment, the food was delicious. A great experience from beginning to end. The lady who I think was in charge was really friendly and chatty and explained the busyness was due to the 'bad mum's club' 🤣....lovely meal, lovely people, we'll be back.

Had an afternoon at the Bruce on Saturday with some friends. Brilliant experience with very efficient service from all the staff. Beer garden is well set out and protected from the elements. Had a really nice lunch in The Bruce Arms. First time we have visited but it won't be the last. My husband ordered the steak and always pie and it was a proper pie. He was so happy as it was delicious. I had the fish and chips and I have to say they were the best skin on chips I have had. Well done, keep up the good work.

We were made to feel very welcome at the Bruce. The food is excellent too. They have a marquee out the front which is lovely in these strange times. Covid sure can kill an atmosphere but not here. I would give 4.5 stars if possible. Very enjoyable meal - great views, large portions, and great service. I had to make a slight deduction because the burger I ordered was overcooked. All other dishes were well prepared, and the soup was excellent. Would definitely go again.

So popped to Limekilns for a coast walk on a really sunny day. Beautiful area. Beautiful weather. Really friendly, welcoming people. Public toilets that are open!! Hurrah! Went to the Bruce Arms Hotel for good old fisn n chips. Serving from the door. Take away. Large portions (did my tea as well)! Crispy batter. Lovely fresh fish. Peas. Great chips. Tartare Sauce and Lemon. We took them to the benches alongside the pier. Sat in the sunshine enjoying first fish supper for months and months. Delicious! Thank you.

Chance visit as passing by on main road. Luckily we turned off and found the Bruce Arms great welcome very decent local beer and a wide selection of others. Simple bar menu which includes Haggis, which I have had to eat elsewhere on Burns night so I had scampi and my partner had the Haggis which was by far th by far the best I have every tasted on the small forkful I was allowed. Shame we live so far away

Had a meal here and was impressed with the staff who were very helpful and attentive. The tables inside were spaced according to Covid 19 protocols with perspex screens between all the tables. Food was piping hot and tasty. We will return.

A small maybe a bit quaint but well worth a visit. The meal was very much home made top marks on quality and definitely quantity so much so I couldn't finish it. Very unusual for me. And the staff were friendly but not intrusive. I shall return in the future given the chance.

Excellent pub with a good selection of ales and lagers. You may have to wait to get a seat and service for meals but the friendly and apologetic staff will make you very welcome and the wait is well worth it for the pub classics on the menu.

Stopped in Charlestown for a couple of days seeing the sights, then popped in on an evening for an excellent pint off John Smiths and excellent food. The staff are lovely, warm and welcoming, i couldn't recommend The Bruce any higher! I live in Leeds but if i,m ever in that neck of the woods again it,ll be my first port of call : )

We had a special family event on Sunday 15th March at The Bruce Inn. 30 of us gathered and were treated to a lovely lunch. Phil and staff were great and put on a fabulous selection. The thanks of the Murray Clan go to all at The Bruce Inn.
