Reviews of The Bishops' Mill - JD Wetherspoon

A typical Wetherspoon's pub. You know what to expect when you visit one of these and it's hit or miss. It's a lovely pub, sometimes absolutely chokka block with students, sometimes half full with families. The food is good and the service in general is ok. In my opinion, the tables could be cleaned a little more often.

Scampi was lovely and freshly cooked, the peas and chips had obviously been pre cooked and hanging around as they were like warm and soggy !

Good selection of drinks at great prices. The food is basic but reasonably priced. Gets busy Saturday afternoon till late, can be slow to get served but overall a decent pub. Cleaning of tables could be better. Good Weatherspoon prices as usual!

Amazing prices, great food friendly staff, clean and comfortable.
I would recommend bishops mill to everyone they have a massive range of alcoholic drinks at gob smacking prices compared to other bars and restaurants.
Well done and a big pat on the back for making a Sunday afternoon affordable.
Cheers Phil and Sheila young

Spacious bar with large outdoor area on the Riverside. There are a lot of steps down to the bar however there is a lift for disabled access. The staff were pleasant and table service was quick. The only reason I knocked a star off was because of the breakfast. I know it's pre made food and kept warm but the bacon looked like it was made from the fiery pits of hell and tasted like Satan's scorched earlobes.

very quick service after ordering through the app. Didn't go in but had a meal in the pleasant beer garden.

Had a lovely walk round Durham but there is only one place to eat and drink. Stopping at the Radisson hotel across the river.

Very modern & clean. It's a typical 'Spoons where great value for food & drinks.. Very busy in nights with students ..Friendly service on the bar and breakfast was as expected..great value and free refilled coffee..

A very busy pub and full. The noise as you enter was very loud and not ideal for a relaxing drink. However, we found a seat outside which was also very busy but the decibels were lower. I congratulate all staff for their professionalism and service.
