We ordered burgers, fries & chicken wings for 9 of us and the food was absolutely superb washed down with quality draft German bier. Great pub and atmosphere bar staff really looked after us. If your a fan of burgers then you got to try this place we will definitely return on our next trip to Edinburgh

Great atmosphere and friendly staff. Although I didn't order anything to eat, another in my group got a burger and chips, not only did it look amazing...he said was fantastic. Definitely would recommend !!!!

There's a selection of German beers and an interesting ambience. It shows the big sporting events too, if that's your thing. I thought the drinks were a little expensive and I didn't appreciate urinating by candlelight 🕯️. It has a good reputation in the area and I would consider going back.

Place is expensive which is expected with imported beers but it was mostly the stag party which ruined the experience drunk and aggressive and no signs of them being asked to removed. Other than that the place was nice and clean.

Great selection of German pilsner and lager with well informed staff. The menu was unique and well presented, tasting great. The bar is small, with interesting decor, a little too small to cater for large groups. If you're in the area and want good lager, this is the place.

Came here on a Monday with a friend. Terrific old-school atmosphere, woody and comfortable. And they have really good beer, so you'll be happy if you refuse to drink Aussie lager but love a Belgian. Having said that, it is NOT a real beer twathouse. But it is also not the place to go if you want a blue cocktail with sparklers, whipped cream and Curacao.

Great place...we watched the six nations there a few weeks back and it had a great atmosphere. The staff managed to work fast and get everyone served in a timely manner. The food is pretty good too. They have Augustine Brau which is my favourite from spending lots of time in Munich over the years!

Only stayed for a couple of beers. Lovely staff. Definitely not the Boundary bar as I remember it. Loads of taps of attempts at craft beer. Only had 2 cans of local brew (Pilot). The WCs needed a scrub, with nothing to dry your hands but a hand dryer with acute asthma. Would go back, just to see the smiley people behind the bar.

This place could be great with fantastic beer but an already tiny food menu, shrank to a speck when they ran out of fries and sauerkraut on a Tuesday night with the place half full ??. What was left was actually good. Staff pleasant and helpful (if embarrassed) nonetheless. Don't write it off.

Don’t quite get the name as I liked the Boundary Bar with the tradition of half being in Leith and half in Edinburgh. The barman was very friendly and this seems an amiable pub at first impression. Not quite sure what they’re doing with the decor. Has a good selection of foreign beer.

Despite being a hallmark of Leith Walk gentrification, the Bier Hoose manages to pay homage to the original Boundary Bar by preserving the boundary line between Leith and Edinburgh down the middle of the bar. I'm a fan of German beer and Bier Hoose does not disappoint on that front with its well stocked fridges. Their prices themselves are exceedingly expensive even on standard lager, which is a let down, but the trade off for being a beer specialist venue. The staff are pleasant and happy to offer recommendations, and the inside decor is befitting of a Bavarian beer hall.

Vast selection of beers to choose from with friendly service. Limited food menu including pizzas, nachos, bratwurst, fries. Took quite a while to serve food but lady doing bar and food herself it seemed. Could have done with the bar being a bit warmer on a miserable wet night but good surroundings nevertheless.

Boundary pub! Very cosey place with different types of seating .An interesting piece of stained glass up at the back. Made to feel very welcome and the are man made me a cup of tea even though he was busy just because I was cold in that's what I wanted, that is service.
