Reviews of Jinglin' Geordie Bar - Beer Garden
Nice little pub if you can find it ( not too hard)
Sky sports , great music in background. Decent prices and good choice.
Nice old pub tucked down an Alley. 3 real ales on of a good quality. This place and the Royal Oak are a must if you like a slightly off the mile pub. Eastern European bar lady was friendly, very easy on the eye and was happy to change my first pint which was the bottom of the barrel.
I have been here many times, a great starting point with friends for an evening out. One of the best places to have a great city drink. I am fast becoming a regular and can happily say this place is clean, has very friendly staff and a really great place ! A hidden gem.
Neat pub with a cool patio out back. Just off the Royal Mile, but with a much more “local” feeing... with prices to match.
Edit: Confirmed the local feeling by drinking and chatting with some Edinburgh residents for several hours. The pub was great, the company fantastic. Had a 10/10 great night here.
Always my last call every time I visit Edinburgh before I drop down to Waverley station for the train home, always a decent pint
Old pub off the beaten track. Good local beers. Polite bar staff who let us taste the beers and even offered to top up my wife's pint after she spilled some 😀
Smell as like old fashioned sweets or pic n mix, but lovely pub, slightly expensive but good for a quite pint and sky football on if interested, good selection of McCoys crisps as well.
Nice enough bar smoking area out the back, just expensive you couldn't afford to drink here as your local!
Love this bar. Traditional, no nonsense boozer in centre of Edinburgh
Just to have a pint in a haunt of Rebus.
Good old pub between the station and Cockburn street. Closed at the moment because of this pandemic but is on the list for a visit.
Great pub, friendly staff, what's else to say, would definitely go back.
Perfect pub if you want a pub. Only downside was the slow server who was more interested in gossip than service.
However, certainly worth the wait 👍
Nice quiet place a bit off the beaten path
Good stop off point on your way back to the train station or when you've first got into city. Nice traditional pub, speedy staff.
Nice traditional pub
Good place for a drink before boarding a train if you have some time to spare. Better than the bar at Waverley Station.
Old pub athmosphere. One of the few.. Love it!
Now my new favourite little bar to pop into after work. Nice little hidden away smokers garden and plenty of choice on tap
Old time pub ,got on the chat with 3 gentlemen and as it turned out we were connected through area's and names and sports from 45 years ago , fantastic wee pub.
Cosy bar.
Brilliant bar with small seating area outside. Great atmosphere.
Proper pub in the centre of Edinburgh. Nice change to the pubs full of tourists and actually had some real locals in. Felt and smelt like a real boozer. Well kept beer at good prices. Will definitely be returning in future
Had a great afternoon here. Watched the football and then the Davis cup. Staff were friendly, drinks are reasonable. Cannot fault anything :)
It's small of course, but don't miss it - it's not among my top favourites in the city but it's absolutely worth a visit from time to time.
Always nip in for a drink if early for a train down South. Better than Waverley Station bar by far.
A proper bar. Good selection of beer. Not one for people with younger children
Decent pub, nice for a quiet pint. Good location too.
Very friendly place even although it was busy during the festival.
Good beer good service friendly staff and customers
Great little pub cozy full of atmosphere. Would definitely recommend to others
Good priced beer slightly off the beaten track

Small pub with good prices . Off the main the
Route beer garden with no sun
Cosy little pub with reasonable prices. I'm sure Mr Best would still approve!
Lovely little pub and loved the crack about Georde Bedt
Really good bar, it is a little too hot for me inside.
reminded me of the small traditional bars from my home town, worlds away from the many commercial pubs in its locality. will definitly be back!
Nice little find
Great wee bolthole in Edinburghs old town.
No bells and no Geordies. Honest, central Old Town, old school pub. Decent range of beers.
Great little traditional bar , good prices , friendly staff
Friendly pub with terrace for smokers. Cozy wee place in town 😊
Known for being George Best favourite pub!
Its like steppin back in time
Old school pub. Good selection of drinks go for a drink and banter.....
This pub is a veritable oasis, right smack bang in the centre of the city. Guid beer and guid company. Sheer Nectar, I say.

Hidden fun pub in a backstreet of Edinburgh, 1 minute away from the tourist attractions
Had a great time yesterday afternoon, watched football, few beers then train home.
Was good. Old bar. Reasonable prices.
Relaxed, happy and a lot less people than on the tourist pubs above.
Always a favourite. No frills.
Excellant pub and the staff make you feel so welcome, especially George.

Hidden gem always worth a visit when in Edinburgh, good beer and company. I’m not sure the beer garden has many plants.
Great atmosphere
Cracking pub with good music, I think from a jukebox.
This is my second home in Edinburgh so go figure.

Cosy old pub
Very homely
This pub is located close to Edinburgh train station. This pub is located in a narrow alley leading from the station to the old town, making it a great place to feel the atmosphere of the area. Seeing Scottish people drinking beer and chatting with friends in the pub made me feel like I was part of them. It may feel like it is located in a back alley, but perhaps because it is located in such a place, it feels more intimate. The pub also has a wide variety of beers, so you can choose the beer you like. Since there are many rainy and inclement days, I think it would be an experience to stop by a pub outside to avoid the rain, have a quick beer, and watch the soccer game. If you want to experience Scottish pubs, it would be a good idea to visit at least once. It's located near the station, so it's a good place to catch the train while enjoying a leisurely beer. There was only one employee, but he welcomed the guests kindly, and even when paying, he waited slowly until the money was correct and responded kindly.
Our regular pub in Edinburgh
Located in a narrow lane, the pub is inconspicuous. The drinks selection is also clear, but if you go into the smoking area you get a sense of old Edinburgh
It's a tiny courtyard, partly covered, partly open-air. The seat cushions have seen better days and the walls of the other houses are very close!
It's anything but a fancy in-location, but after the second or third visit you'll be recognized again - and you'll quickly get into conversation with very nice locals
Nice bar
Brilliant bar and its in such a brilliant location near the train station. The drink choices are decent and the bar feels really snug and cozy. The decor is proper old style which is what I like. The bar lady that served me was both friendly and welcoming. Would definitely come here again.
