With a wide selection of cask and keg beers on rotation, this is a wee gem is a pub with a friendly and knowledgeable team behind the bar. Nice relaxed atmosphere, with a modern feel. Worth a visit if you fancy a craft beer or two.

This is a fabulous and intimate little bar with a great selection of beers and whiskies. They have a wide selection of whiskies, including many independent bottlings and special offers on drams. Well worth a visit.

Been a few times for a few separate sorts of ventures out; before Edinburgh rugby games, during the Christmas period, during the heavy snow & bad weather and on Sunday evenings. Really great looking, and cosy bar with a fine selection of beers and spirits for everyone's taste. Feels somewhat between a "proper" pub and a special treat night out. The staff on shift were great. And a special shout out to whoever runs their social media- they picked up on and replied to instagram/twitter posts WHILST we were still there in a friendly manner. Such a nice vibe and atmosphere has been created there and I hope it stays for many years to come. Cheers!

Absolutely brilliant venue, staff and friendly and knowledgeable, I have a feeling they drink a lot of whiskey. I don't really know a lot about whiskey, just that I know I have it occasionally so I didn't really know what to ask for. I was just honest and told them and then they gave me a good range to try and was really helpful picking some options to get a good range. Sometimes these kind of places can be pretentious, but it really doesn't have the vibe. Went back a couple of times, and every time a a different but very good experience. They also do Pizza's from a near by restaurant which are very good.

Been on and off for several years. Just came last month and noticed all the beers were craft. Real craft meaning I’d never seen most of them before. Didn’t even have any of your run of the mill beers which was great. I would have drank even more if I could have. Nice and cozy place.

My fiancé and I had our first look here while eloping in Scotland. It was the perfect pub and we only have fond memories of the space and the staff. They were incredibly nice and went out of their way to make our day more special. Wish I could give more than five stars - highly recommend grabbing a drink here. Its the perfect Scottish pub.

Visited Monty's for a few brewskis and watched the Scotland v England. Despite the very unfortunate robbery by Lizzie's rugby lads, we had a great evening. Decent selection of beers on tap and the crowds are small. Could easily stay here a while and get well tanked.

Great little pub just round the corner from where we we're staying in Edinburgh. Photo is from the mezzanine. Doesn't take much for it to get full but nice friendly atmosphere with reasonable prices.

Constantly changing the ales so makes it interesting every few weeks to try something new. Regular melting pot of different nationalities frequent this pub making for some interesting conversations with random people. It's also close to Haymarket train station, tram stop and bus stop for heading out of the west side of Edinburgh.

I used to like Monty’s some years ago when it was called Carters under previous management, however it went down hill before it closed down. Monty’s is great, the staff are very friendly and welcoming!! The choice of beers and spirites is fantastic! Highly recommend this place!

Many moons ago (well, maybe about a year) Monty's used to be Carter's, one of my favourite bars in Edinburgh. Carter's had a good choice of beers, good tunes, football on the TV and great, friendly barstaff. Even though Monty's had the refurbishment that Carter's desperately needed for a while it unfortunately hasn't retained the character and atmosphere that made Carter's one of my regular haunts. The choice of beer is still there but it feels a lot more reserved with the TVs and loud music (and mental barstaff) gone, which will suit some people but if I wanted that there were plenty of other bars in the area. If you want a quiet pint near Haymarket you could do a lot worse, but if you're looking for a lively pub you could do better

Tremendous, snug bar handily located in Haymarket. The beer list is always interesting, with the excellent Jarl from Fyne Ales a permanent fixture. Staff are friendly and well-informed and there are TVs with Freeview sport.

Door policy discourages loud mobs of lads. Saw a guy come in and loudly order 6 pints of Tennents, for which he was politely asked to leave. This is a plus in my book. Great civilised place to sit and chat with some premium beverages and a zero tolerance policy for soccer hoolies. 1 star off because they used to have Hoegaarden on draught and now they don't.
