Reviews of Nobles Café Bar & Restaurant
L. M.
We went for the first time last weekend for brunch. Some of our friends love this place, and we get why. The food was delicious, some of the best pancakes I had had in a very long time. The restaurant/café itself is very cosy, beautifully decorated and the staff friendly & professional. We paid about £50 for two adults and our kiddo. Our son loved the waffles, and we enjoyed delicious coffee as well. Nobles is a great spot to catch up with friends as well. It’s cosy, not loud, with a lovely atmosphere. We’ll come back.
M. I.
Ordered their beef burger and eggs Benedict. The taste was pretty good! The quantities weren’t that good though. The serving sizes were quite small considering the prices but the taste was nice. The ambience of the place is good and the decor was good too. The location is quite central.

Friendly and helpful staff, good food and drink and a nice atmosphere. Definitely worth a visit if you’re in the Leith Shore area. Do check your bill though as service is automatically added (optional but you would need to ask for it to be deleted). However the service we received we were happy to have it included.

Years ago, Nobles was one of the best bars in the city. A great location down the shore and a beautiful premises with an outside terrace and quirky decor which gives it a cool feel without trying too hard.
However, the last few years they've pivoted massively towards being a restaurant first, bar second and this is a shame.
The food is fine. Its nothing special and while it's not expensive, you can certainly find better at the same price point elsewhere.
They segregate diners from drinkers into different areas of the bar. You're pounced on immediately on entry and asked if you're eating or drinking and it doesn't feel very welcoming.
They do table service, and while the service is very good, I miss the relaxed, more low key atmosphere of the old bar. They used to be packed, with live music and a great vibe. Now I find the place a little sad.

Food is outstanding here. Always fresh local and seasonal produce on the menu. Delicious. A warm welcome from the staff every time, they are just perfect. Great selection of beers and gin. I ❤️ Nobles.

Great pub, lovely location, awesome atmosphere, excellent food & generous servings. All illuminated by lovely stained glass. Also best toilet I've visited this year
L. M.
3 amazing Brunch dishes. Fruit, nuts and pancakes was delicious. Smoked Barlotti beans, poached eggs for 1 and tofu for the other amazing. Friendly staff and great coffee.

This gastropub is absolutely gorgeous on the inside and has a great drinks list! I ordered the salmon to start which was delish and the cod tagine with a side of fries as my main. The cod tagine wasn't quite what I was expecting though it was delicious. Was a bit underwhelmed by the fries but that wouldn't stop me visiting Nobles again! Absolutely loved the dessert which was a platter of brownie, millionaires shortbread and a homemade marshmallow. Definitely a great way to end a lovely evening!
K. B.
If you like beef you MUST try the Braise Beef Cheeks. Service was great as well. I will be back before I leave Edinburgh. DELICIOUS!
E. B.
Fab wine and the petite four of deserts was fantastic!
Y. L.
Beer is fine, food good too. Not too noisy so we can talk.
M. U.
The ambience is really nice and the decorations really cute. I really liked the inside of the pub and my meal was excellent. Really quite delicious. Service was a bit messy because something went wrong with our order and we ended up waiting for it for about an hour but they made it up to us and we stayed long anyway for drinks so it was fine.
G. C.
One of my favourite bar restaurants in Leith. The staff are freindly and the food and drink is great. You'll feel like a royal captain just docked in the port when you see the historic decorations around the walls in this place.
R. G.
Delicious brunch, got the Nobles Benedict in order to try black pudding, got a side of haggis. Very rich, tasty, but could've done with some more acidity in the hollandaise or added a vinegrette to the salad to balance it out. Cosy vibes, were sitting close to the fireplace, and pleasant service.
V. C.
Had 2 full English breakfasts. Would have given 5 stars but we found the haggis, black pudding, sourdough bread and the potato scone very dry. Could have done with butter for on the sourdough. And maybe some condiments too. All in all we love the ambience. The service is excellent. Breakfast was well presented 🥓🍳🍅. This is positive feed back and we will be back 🙂🙂. It fell slightly short on our expectations for the price
S. D.
Great atmosphere. Phenomenal cocktails. Good food. Several gluten free options.
E. S.
Very nice place for brunch with lovely stained glass. Food and coffee was delicious
I. S.
The decoration, light and music create a really friendly and cozy environment. Great food, beer and an amazing staff without being expensive. Definitely the best pub we found in Edinburgh!
L. F.
Food was excellent. I'm a coeliac and I had plenty of choice. Staff was very friendly. Couldn't fault it.
A. C.
Great brunch menu! Excellent quality of food for the price.
Helpful staff. Wonderful atmosphere and a historic setting in the heart of the old Leith town.
J. R.
Excellent menu and food. Good beer. Beautiful venue. Was fairly quiet
L. M.
amazing fish and chips (the best i’ve had in a while), lovely staff and really nice interior! gorgeous place
S. B.
Popped in here for the first time at the weekend with friends - a really lovely place in a nice building. Our food was great and their cocktails are decent too. The staff were really friendly and always on hand to help. I think a bit of quiet background music would have helped with the ambience, but will be back!
B. B.
My friend and I were only in for a few drinks, we got a table even though it was a Friday evening and we had not booked.
It was table service and that was fine.
My friend was on shorts and I was on beer. Unfortunately they ran out of Crabbies alcoholic ginger beer ( which is brewed locally! ). Paid by card at the end of the night.
Would have given 5 stars apart from the ginger beer.
J. B.
A lovely meal served by friendly attentive staff and cooked by a kitchen who knows what it's doing. We will definitely return. Thank you!
C. Y.
Best black pudding and haggis in Edinburgh hands down!! Big portion of full Scottish breakfast with the works. Also amazing french toast. Great service and nice interior.
M. J.
Delicious brunch, we ordered full Scottish and full Veggie. Great service and nice atmosphere.
L. V.
Eggs Benedict, Dark Chocolate Fondant, Coffee, all of them are delicious with good details.
Efficient staff
Nice interior (Tidy ladies room: make full use of nature light)
K. S.
Great to be back in a favourite neighbourhood haunt. Lovely food, great vibe, top service and a productive meeting! Winning.
J. D.
The food was great and the staff was accommodating. The chocolate old fashion was the highlight.
C. P.
Very nice. Highly recommended
R. S.
Nobles is one of the best bars in Leith - great atmosphere, fast friendly service and super food and drink. This is quality so there is a price to pay - but well worth it.
C. W.
Really nice atmosphere with friendly staff and great food. I'm often here for brunch with the misses and we always enjoy it.
F.
Excellent Burgers and great service
A. R.
Great interior and ambience, we all really enjoyed our Sunday brunch. Nice staff too
P. P.
Beautiful Victorian cafe bar with amazing interiors. Lovely menu but on the pricey side though.
R. N.
Five Stars Brunch and incredibly delicious Tartar sauce, congrats!
e. k.
very cozy place, amazing food and great service. went there twice while in edinburgh:))
C. V.
Nice atmosphere and good food, especially the mussels! Good cocktails too.

Great brunch, and espresso. The beef brisket benedict hit the spot!
I. M.
We all had tea or coffee and thoroughly enjoyed it.

Great food, lovely staff and beautiful old interior which is also still really comfortable
K. M.
Lovely Nobles is such a great spot for brunch - relaxed atmosphere, friendly staff and delicious food. All social distancing measures adhered to, without impacting on the quality of experience. Love it here!
S. W.
Great food in a vibrant, busy venue. Very helpful staff too.
K. S.
This was my second visit - lovely food and friendly service in an interesting building with some beautiful decor.
N. B.
Beautiful restaurant! One of my absolute favorite haunts in The Shore area. £5 cocktails throughout the week, plus a diverse and interesting selection of craft beer. I always discover something new when I'm there! The food is beautiful. Lunchtime favorite - Vietnamese Chicken Broth - so delicious!
Recently went to try the new dinner menu - oh my lord, it was heaven. My Monk fish starter was stunning, followed by a beautifully plated Barbary Duck main course. The staff made my evening so enjoyable, I felt incredibly welcome and cosy. Could have moved in!
10/10, 5 stars, 100%.
Thanks Nobles!
M. B.
Lovely place to go either for a meal or for a few drinks in the evening.
Brilliantly stocked bar and knowledgeable staff make choosing a drink a bit of an adventure. But in a fun way.
Nicely chosen art work adorns the walls and the room keeps a nice old world sensibility about it.
An enjoyable place.
M. B.
Always good live music on a Tuesday night. Went for a Friday lunch, and the food was excellent. Really great fish and chips, and the soup was good, too. Would have been a 5 star review, but after asking twice in advance (once when booking and once on arrival), the waitress failed to give the 7 of us individual bills, meaning we had to spend 10 minutes doing sums, which we specifically wanted to avoid. When politely challenged, she said that the group size meant they had to add a 10% service charge to the bill. This would have been fine if they had told us in advance, but they didn't, which is very wrong. It also would have been fine to add 10% service charge to our individual bills, as long as she told us in advance, but she said she couldn't remember which of us had which meals and drinks. Very frustrating. Still, the food and (rest of the) atmosphere won the place 4 stars. Well done to the chef(s).
j. r.
Staff didn't know what beers they had, pricey
E. M.
Very friendly staff and nice venue. Unfortunately the Bloody Mary was disappointing, very watery. The veggie breakfast also very dry.
a. v.
Beautiful and comfortable environment, good food, great choice of drinks, very good service and accurate diet information.
T. H.
Fantastic! Just visiting for a few days and saw the fish and chips on the menu. The batter was light, and crispy with no excess oil. Probably the best I've had anywhere in the world. Fish was delicate and flakey, the way it should be, and the chips were spot on. Service was excellent, and even when we moved tables to the casual area, they were very accommodating. Highly recommended.
S. C.
I love this place. A great local beer selection on tap, every other kind of alcohol you could need including some interesting cocktails, a fantastic brunch offering and excellent staff. Decor is a mix of super traditional and more contemporary (and artwork including a truly glorious cat oil painting) which is stimulating and complementing rather than clashing. A must visit in the area
A. F.
Breakfast of champions! Amazing full Scottish brekkie.
Z. M.
A bit of a hit or miss I think with this lovely pub. The staff and the ambiance are both really great, and the menu seems to be updated quite often!
My partner got a beautiful plate of lamb, really well presented and interesting flavours.
I went for a classic fish and chips that left me a bit disappointed. Overcooked and basically uninteresting for the price.
Overall we had a great evening date there, the coktaila were excellent and the service top notched! Will try my luck again !
d. w.
Friendly staff. Good food. A relaxed brown bar feel.
S. H.
The attention to detail in the food and overall experience is beautiful, have been frequenting for a number of years and it gets better all the time. You can't go wrong with the fish and chips and there's always an interesting selection of wines and ales and beers on tap.
r. s.
Great service, wonderful friendly staff and the most beautiful building. They also have a good amount of seating outside. Great selection of beer and lovely food, very focused on brunch style but great
C. C.
Had a meal here and lunch and it was really good, although the menu is quite small I would say. Only thing I liked on the menu was a burger but luckily enough it was delicious. Too much cushions on some seats also although very good atmosphere in the building. They also add tip onto your bill which I think is a lot easier than trying to work out how much to leave, although this may not suit everyone's taste.
J. G.
Gorgeous interior, inviting atmosphere. Will definitely keep it in mind next time I'm in Leith. It seemed like a great place to stop in for a drink, and brunch was definitely a hit, as well.
I had the full vegetarian breakfast, which was huge and very well done. I appreciated the big pile of spinach - a creative addition to the standard inclusions of veggie sausage, veggie haggis, mushrooms, tomatoes, potato scone, and eggs. (Did I leave anything out? I feel like I did. It was a lot of food.) Coffee was good, and the waitstaff kept the big carafes of ice water on our table full. I will never get tired of free ice water.
J. B.
Nobles has a really nice atmosphere, perfect for Saturday morning brunch. Comfortable seats, pleasant decor and friendly staff. The weekend brunch menu has a few interesting items like pork belly benedict and polenta, and there's a large range of Mary cocktails as well as coffees and teas to choose from. The food looked good, was well cooked and delicious, however I'm taking a star off for the wait time - although we ordered our food within five minutes of being seated and the place was very quiet, a half hour wait for the food is a bit too long.
C. S.
People make the place! Came here for Sunday brunch and had a wonderful time, inspite of a slight mishap with the food (nothing Nobles could have influenced, simple mistakes), which was delicious. Portion sizes were great as well. What really made the experience though was the staff, who were super friendly and willing to help with everything! All in all excellent place for sunday brunch!
Coffee was great too :)
J. A.
Nobles may appear to be one of those chain-type pubs but, on closer inspection, it certainly isn't! It's a lovely gastropub with really great food and some nice craft ale choices. Service is excellent and very friendly. Relaxed atmosphere and nice ambience in the evening.
g. c.
Had a great early evening in Nobles. Just had drinks, beautiful bar inside, staff were so helpful and a great range of beers, wines and spirits.
W. J. C.
Great staff and a solid playlist 😎✌️
A. G.
Nobles is a nice surprise, my Dad says it used to be a right rough old place back in the day. Now it exudes an understated trendy vibe with nice pub grub and some art pieces - look out for the jammy dodger chandelier. Food is served promptly and is always well prepared. They have some nice ales on tap and the staff always seem friendly. They have live music in the evenings and it is a dog friendly pub. It's nice place to hang out for a while with friendly patrons and enough space for larger parties.
I. E.
I live right round the corner from Nobles and yet it took me nearly a year to pop in for some food. I've been in a few times for drinks with my workmates but have only recently visited for some brunch.
I decided to go for Nobles Full Scottish Breakfast (A Full Scottish Breakfast is usually always my first choice where brunch is concerned). The Full Scottish Breakfast was just superb. It far exceeded my expectations. Everything was cooked to perfection. The poached eggs were runny enough for dipping. The bacon wasn't too crispy. Perfection.
Nobles fully deserves that 5 star rating. I've not had a brunch quite this good for some time. If you're in the area I'd recommend popping in and trying it out for yourself.
K. S.
We were looking for a place to eat late dinner. We found this place via google maps (near our hotel). They didn't have ingredients for half of the menu, but all of us could eat a good meal. The music was not so loud, so we could sit and talk. Very friendly staff. We got water to the table before ordering anything, and while waiting for the food, we got good bread and olive oil. Very nice place.
J. L.
Great food, lovely staff and a really nice atmosphere for brunch! Highly recommend.
D. R.
I have been there several times. Nice pub with lovely food. Before covid they hosted nice live gigs
A. G.
I think most people know Nobles for the busy bar it is on Friday nights and the weekend.
I don't go then. Why? Because it is busy.
I prefer Nobles as a lunch time venue. The staff are quick and friendly.
The food is good. The menu changes infrequency but it does change. What Nobles provides isn't a huge range but enough for a choice. I like Nobles for their tasty meat options. The burgers here are good with a choice of chunky chips or skinny fries.
As noted; this is a bar with a good range of drinks, not all mainstream.
The wonderful look of Nobles doesn't vanish when it's not busy. Take the time to admire the stained glass windows and impressive tiling.
T. L.
The eggs benedict and the flat iron steak sandwich were good. They also make good iced coffee. It takes a bit of time for them to serve your food so just make sure you're not rushing or starving when you go to this place.
A. F.
Very good food, friendly staff, will happily go again
叢.
I don't visit here very often, even though it is close to where I live. I do tend to take visiting friends and family here for a spot of Breakfast / Brunch. We also had a brunch here with a couple of friends and I was not disappointed.
Their pancakes and frensch toast are not too bad, but I did have had better in quite a few other places.
The atmosphere here when going for a pint is not what I look for, a little too.. 'brown pubbish' - nothing wrong with that, but to me too old fashioned - and the only way I like that is when served as a cocktail.
People behind the bar are friendly, but sometimes a little slow in serving, but that could also be the kitchen in that aspect.
In all; not a bad pub, but not my cup of tea.
M. f.
Good food, decent beer selection. Atmosphere is relaxed and enjoyable. Staff are friendly. Been coming to this place over the last few years and never been disappointed. Would give 5 stars but they ran out of crab....not their fault but really really wanted the crab.
g. f.
Good food, excellent service and good drinks in a nice friendly environment 👌
L.
Nobles is a place that manages to straddle the boundary between pub and eatery really well. The decor is unique, the staff are friendly and attentive, and the food is really tasty.
This dog-friendly establishment is a favourite amongst locals and visitors alike, so there tends to be a nice mix of people across a broad demographic.
Just fancy a drink? You're covered. With a good range of beers and ales there's going to be something for you.
Out for lunch with friends? Sorted. The menu is somewhere between gastro-pub and restaurant and quality is superb.
Don't forget to try the "amuse bouche" with your tea or coffee!
S. J.
I've always had a great meal here. Great selection of drink, fantastic atmosphere and aesthetic and as a big plus the staff are lovely; attentive, friendly and always up for a bit of banter everything I lool for in a meal out with friends or family. Totally afforable too - approx. £30 for meal, drink and coffee.
A. M.
Edit: the pub has been in touch to apologise for the barman's behaviour and assured me this wouldn't happen again.
Shocking attitude towards families. My little baby wanted a nap, and we popped him down on our table to sleep comfortably on a sleep mat. When we ordered drinks, the barman said, "do you want to do something safer with your baby?!" in an aggressive manner. What could be safer than a baby - who cannot yet roll - sleeping on a table surrounded by four sober adults? He then tried to defend his aggressive attitude when questioned by my husband.
Unbelievable behaviour for a pub that claims to be family-friendly. There are nicer ways to express concern, and he unfortunately was a barman on a power trip. Luckily there are many more family friendly pubs in the area, such as Compass, that will not judge you if you want to have a quiet pint with a few friends on a weeknight!!!
S. M.
A really nice bar, great stained glass decor and welcoming staff. Brunch menu is extensive but not overwhelming, with some very interesting combinations. Portobello mushroom with goats cheese and rosti was delicious. And they do proper breakfast tea. RESULT.
K. M.
Good atmosphere, good food, nice selection behind the bar, friendly staff - what's not to like?
L. A.
I really like Nobles. It's relatively close to where I live and work, and they pull great pints and delicious food. The staff are hardworking and cheerful. The decor is fantastic, classy candles in old whisky bottles, fake portraits including cats from the Internet, but genuinely impressive stain glass windows.
Great for a lunch and pint after visiting Leith market.
P. D.
One of the best bars in Edinburgh, a great all round pub. During the day this is a great place for business meetings over a coffee or a spot of lunch, after work our team regularly enjoy a beer in a relaxed environment here. Later in the evening there is regular good quality live music too. Highly recommended.
C. F.
Beautiful venue and great service. It would be five stars if the main had been more generous.
A. H.
Nobles is a pretty interesting place. Aside from the great food, the atmosphere and general aesthetic is also really great to look at. Some of the paintings alone make for some great conversation. They also do amazing fish and chips.
L. M.
Who doesn't love this bar - with it's colourful chairs and friendly staff you can only feel cheer in this pub. The live music nights are rocking & i go cos they stock great rose blush! If you don't frequent this bar - you should!
A. B.
This was my every-fortnight-or-so regular breakfast local for quite a few years. Was great! Personal highlight was a Portobello mushroom with a sublime umami taste. Recently (last few months) something seems to have changed in kitchen and now it's a decidedly average pub brunch. :-( Ah well.
R. P.
Always a good place to go. Service fast and friendly. Food always delicious. It gets really busy but staff are great at making space. Drinks selection is good. Atmosphere and surroundings are top notch.
L. S. (. N.
Everytime I've had brunch at Nobles it's been a fabulous time with friends. The coffee is lovely and I usually ask for an altered menu option which is never a problem. The staff are polite and the food always delicious and fresh. A great place in Leith to kickstart your day.
A. M.
Best fish and chips I’ve had in Edinburgh and the interior of the place is brilliant!
M. M.
Wonderful experience in all aspects. A very charming, gastropub style, with terrific atmosphere. We had several appetizers, and all had different mains. We loved them all. Service was very friendly, and terrific. I would highly recommend, and certainly return.
T. B.
Nobles bar is a lovely surprise. I found this bar while walking around Leith and I don't regret it. Victorian style bar with lovely people working there, the food is really good and as they say: fresh and seasonal. Last time, I had a delicious burger but everything on a menu looked amazing. They also have tables outside which are particularly appreciated for a sunny sunday brunch.
I highly recommend to go there, even to grad only a drink and sit comfortably on one of their sofas.
M. W.
Great choice of food and staff are friendly, not to expensive.
I. W.
Absolutely packed on a lovely sunny day, inside and out. Really good service and despite being unreasonably busy not to long to wait. Staff efficiently delt with a large grumpy (hangry) table next to us, they all left smiling! The true sign of a great place. My bloody Mary was to die for and eggs Benedict better than any other I've had before! Full marks!
A. K.
Sometimes you just walk into a place and know it'll be amazing. This is one. The décor is perfect for a pub but down the back there is a restaurant.
Service is fantastically attentive and the pigeon entrée I had was a perfect blend of meat and beetroot.
Main was OK, presented well but perhaps the pigeon had overpowered my taste buds and the spicy pork ... wasn't spicy for me.
D. R.
Nice place food was lovely.
I. T.
Nobles is one of my favourite bars in my area. The interior is really nice, and the food quality and prices are also great. There also bands playing often so it's a good choice if you're around The Shore and don't know where to go for a couple of drinks.
P. C.
Came her for dinner on Valentine's day. Great restaurant, great service and great food. Really nice vibe, pleasant and attentive staff and the food was delicious. One of the best steaks I've had in a long time.
J. P.
Nobles has a really great atmosphere and lovely nautical decor. Excellent beer select, prompt and friendly service, and good good food. Recommend for dinner more than a rowdy night of drinking
J. b.
Absolutely amazing good quality food . definitely now my favourite place to go for brunch . The coffee is one of the best I've tried aswell
M. O.
What a gem. Will be visiting again for Sunday brunch. Dog and child friendly with a laid back atmosphere. My only gripe was that I could not cut through the crust of my Croque Madam with my knife. It was topped with an egg so I did not want to eat it with my hands. Maybe a choice of bread would have improved this.
n. b.
Lovely staff, great food and drink. Nice vibes.
s. l.
Worth a visit just for the full Scottish!
Great place.
J. G.
Wide-ranging menu and exceptionally tasty meals with great service in a fantastic building.
B. W.
Warm, welcoming, good beer, food much improved and genuinely good. Such a lovely setting with original stained glass and wood panelling, great gastro-pub.
P. P.
Great food, nice atmosphere but be prepared to wait. It’s a beautiful place inside and the staff are super friendly. The food can take a long time though.
A. R.
Beautiful building/ decor. Great drinks selection. The food is generally nice but can be inconsistent
R. A.
This is a very "nice" bar!.. But!, it's not my cup of tea!.. It's ok!. It's certainly a comfortable place, I'm sure the food is good too! I guess it's ideal place to meet a friend for a beer & chat.. But there are far more fun places to go in Leith.. The truth is.. I find it pretentious & overly posh. If you're happy to sit beside a bearded knob, sipping a small wine, while browsing on his Mac Book Pro .. Then you'll be in you element! Not me!.. There are hundreds of these "NICE" bars around town.. this one has history, unfortunately its been lost in the last bland refurb.
It's been happening for years.. one day soon, all of Leith will look this smart & sterile! .. Have a small wine.. Then go & explore the rest of Leith, you have a miriad of options.. you'll be rewarded!
M. F.
Excellent fish and chips! Good outdoor space and excellent service.
L. S.
best Bloody Mary and Mary Sherry ever! Super friendly staff!
A. L.
The latte or 'flat White' was great(I had the soy version). It was Sunday brunch and I had the beet burger and the chips which were thick potato wedges. The food had great flavor and was not overly oily.
T. F.
Lovely staff, a great selection of beers, and unusually excellent food. Leith is great for food and drink, and Nobles always delivers. Can get loud when bands are on, but can also get fun!
D. W.
Lunch on a cold February day. Wood burner in the corner making it cosy. Discreet service. Lovely food. Good choice of wines and beers. Will be going back.
K. C.
Cosy, beautiful boozer. Replete with panelled wood interior and stained glass windows, Nobles looks great - you can down a drink in good looking surrounds. There's a fine selection of ales and lagers available - the tasty Black Isle on tap - and a pleasing array of gins, as well. The food is gastropub chow, but is particularly good - burgers are sizeable and come with all the trimmings. In particular, the rabbit burger has been declared a success on repeat occasions. Staff are ever-so-friendly and attentive, and prices are very reasonable.
Nobles also has a stage area and frequently hosts live music. It makes for a relaxed venue.
P. A.
Great restaurant, good atmosphere, excellent service, great food. Good space between tables so not hemmed in by other diners. Altogether s fabulous place. Will definitely return.
D. K.
Great food
Friendly staff
Fair price

I loved this place. The food and dessert was really good, so was the drinks. And the staff was really friendly and knowledgeable. And I really liked the interior as well. I highly recommend this place. 😊

Great atmosphere and unique food menu. Would go again :)
W. M.
This is fairly local to me. Lovely atmosphere and often have good live music. Food has also been really decent in the past. However, just before Christmas went in with a group of people on a bit of a pub crawl around Leith. This is the ONLY bar (out of 12) that chucked us out. This is of course fair enough because there was a group of us - but it was barmaids attitude which ruined it for me. She stated very unsmiling, rude and anti-crimbo... "We are a restaurant and NOT a pub". Ok then.. consider us telt.
K. H.
Nobles is perfect for a hungover winter Sunday afternoon, their bloody Mary's are fantastic- served in a huge glass. We ordered a burger and the Mushroom and goats Cheese rosti, both meals were extremely tasty, I think they may serve the best handcut chips in Edinburgh. The atmosphere is always cosy and the staff are really friendly. I love the artwork in the bar, there is so much to look at and every time I visit I notice something quirky and new. Nobles is one of my favorite bars in Edinburgh, it ticks all of the boxes :)
s. l.
Amazing Leith bar, quite simply everything you could want from a local and thankfully it is mine! The beautiful interior is inspired by the maritime Victoriana in keeping with the location. Look around a you'll see pretty stained glass windows, comfy large bar seats, ship murals up high, chesterfield sofas and eclectic vintage framed pictures clustered on the walls.
Nobles hold a pub quiz on Mondays, open mic night on Tusdays, live bands all week in the evenings, super friendly staff and customer alike. I've never eaten in here but always heard good things about it from friends. Go and visit, you won't regret it.
M. F.
My favourite bar to eat and drink in Leith, these guys have been going strong for years now and just keep getting better and better, staff are friendly and the music is always good! Don’t sleep on their specials either. fantastic! Would recommend.
S. F.
A great little bar down in Leith, unpretentious but with a good selection of Scottish beers and strong wines. The Victorian details and cephalopod touches adds atmosphere and charm and weeknights its a perfect cozy spot to hunker down from a storm.

Really cool nautical themed pub. Great food with some unique options on the menu. Not cheap, but definitely high quality.
A. W.
Without a doubt one of our favourite pubs near the shore.
Nice and friendly staff, good vibe and great food for a bite in a pub.
Bloody Mary and brunch are highly recommend!
A. P. (.
The meal was great and by no means disappointing. The waiting service was very attentive. A small menu but not short. Overall a nice restaurant, that I have no problems to go back to.
K. S.
Nobles is a great all rounder of a bar. When i worked nearby we often popped in for lunch, they'd just undergone a refurb so i feel like i was there from the start. It attracts a good crowd, they play live music and we managed to see some great musicians last summer. We went down during the festival which made a change from the busy city centre, the atmosphere was brilliant. I've brunched, lunched and Dinner'd here, with a different bunches of friends, it lends itself well to that. Wasn't keen on their black pudding the last time I brunched but then i'm super fussy. Another great thing about Nobles is that they allow dogs! Nuff said.
P. M.
Really nice space and atmosphere. The staff were friendly and attentive. The mussels (either as a starter or main) were delicious and wholeheartedly recommended!
E. O.
Perfectly warm atmosphere, like an old-school pub with an updated twist. Fantastic craft beer selection and the best fish & chips I've had in Edinburgh!
A. L.
Absolutely gorgeous interior with brilliant food and friendly staff
E. F.
Stopped in for a Boxing Day dinner while in Leith. Staff was friendly, prices were reasonable, and the food was quite good. A cozy place that is worth a visit.
R. M.
Busy, friendly atmosphere. Food was lovely but, long wait for drinks and food
H. M.
Delicious food, lovely atmosphere, good beer selection. The only reason I'm knocking off a star is because the hand dryer in the bathroom blows lots of cold air, leaving your hands feeling freezing!!!
J. F.
We enjoyed a lovely meal last night. Trudy food was excellent, the service was friendly and attentive and the decor and atmosphere was great.
Next time we’re in Leith, we’ll be back.
Thanks for a great evening, guys.
C. P.
Great place. Went back the next day for a repeat of the full vegan breakfast.
T. S.
A pot of Earl grey is the same price as Gleneagles less 20p.but you get a 3 person pot of strong tea from Gleneagles. Food not bad but prices have recently become really expensive. Sorry not worth the money. Keep my visits to the occasional.
D. P.
Great service and amazing food. This is particularly great if you are into seafood options. My gf loved it here too. Thumbs up from us
C. K.
Great brunch, family friendly and a beautiful traditional pub setting. No surprise it was busy on a Sunday lunchtime. Can't book so get there early!
S. F.
Always good food and often has Leith Juice on tap - which should be worth an extra star. Also, beautiful stained glass interior.
T. B.
Amazing breakfast... well worth the price. Lovely setting and great decor, a whole round good experience
P. D. L. N.
Beautiful interiors, decent service, very good selection of whiskies, ales , lagers and alcohol free drinks. It worth a visit if you are in the Leith area.
R. M.
Lovely pub with great food and lovely knowledgeable staff. Very easy to while away an evening. There is music but it's not intrusive.

Loved this wee find it's a lovely quirky bar with a mixture of old and new. We had a lunch of burger and a steak sandwich...the sandwich was huge portion with fries so make room.
J. L.
Nice place, really like the atmosphere, only tried the cocktails and they were really good. Will be back to try the food :) !
M. G.
First class pub/bar/café fare. Fabulous food, great atmosphere, endless drink choices and dig friendly. Go. You may never leave.
M. M.
A true gem, somehow managing to be one of Leith's best restaurants whilst also being one of the best bars in the city if not the country, truly wonderful!
T. S.
More small glasses of coffee! When did this craze start and when will it end? I want a decent cup of coffee! I will pay more for it. Have the pretentious coffees for those that want to Instagram it and have a decent coffee for those who just want a decent coffee!
K. S.
Our favourite brunch! Best poached eggs, great burgers! Lovely staff 💜
K. T.
Food was amazing, i had the duck leg egg florentine with hollandaise sause for brunch, and one of the best bloody mary i have ever had. Cheers!

Nous y sommes venus sur recommandation pour manger un brunch. Le lieux est top, agréable et le scotich nobles brunch à tomber. Un vrai régale. Une bonne découverte, une bonne adresse.
A. C.
(Translated) The place is nice, nice, music not very loud and good place to have a few beers. When I went it was almost empty and still took a long time to attend. I think it was more of a kitchen problem. The waitresses are very friendly. They have good beer, desserts only had ice cream. I did not like the food but I do not think it was because of the preparation but because I do not like what is usually eaten in Scotland, I find the meat very tasteless and they hide that with many species. I liked the Tampico fish. The fries yes.
(Original)
Y. M.
(Translated) Excellent dinner. I recommend the beef cheeks and the pudding! Smiling and caring team.
(Original)
Excellent dîner. Je recommande les joues de boeuf et le pudding ! Equipe souriante et attentionnée.

(Translated) Pleasant place, not too loud. Very good matured meat. It is not necessary to book if you arrive before 8 p.m.
(Original)
Lieu agréable, pas trop sonore. Viande maturée tres bonne. Il n'est pas necessaire de réserver si on arrive avant 20h.
