Reviews of Nor’ Loft

Brilliant setting with stunning views, comfortable seating, fireplaces, good food, and most importantly: excellent Champagne.
The vintage bottles are very fairly priced, and the food options are varied and perfectly suited to their Champagne companions.

Chic, sexy but comfortable space located on the 7th floor of the Market Street Hotel. Perfect place for tapas or drinks.
Staff can’t be nicer or more helpful.
Great selection of champagnes, whiskeys and cocktails. Interesting small plates. Love the views (and if nice weather, the outdoor patio)

We love Nor Loft for drinks... absolutely brilliant selection of champagne and cocktails! The view is great and it feels super exclusive. We were guests at the hotel and visited for breakfast too, and the service was a bit slow. Otherwise perfect!

Was treated to a champagne afternoon tea by my wife. I have to say the whole experience was fantastic. Every member of the team were great. Attentive, but not too much! Always someone there to top up our champagne! It's not your traditional afternoon tea.....it way surpasses that! Tom the head chef took time to come and talk us through each of the dishes which were all amazing. Thank you to Tom for a very enjoyable afternoon and to every member of the team, we had such a great day! 😀

We came on Tuesday for evening drinks. The bar is absolutely beautiful. We sat on the terrace which was amazing. Drinks were great and very reasonably priced. Our waiters were also great. I would highly recommended and would return again if in Edinburgh

We LOVED this place the first few times we went. Staff were very attentive and the balcony has amazing views over Edinburgh. However, the past times we weren't as impressed, I booked in advance for my husbands birthday asking for a table with a nice view and we were put right in far corner, no one wished him happy birthday and service didn't seem quite as slick. Previous time we tried to get in for a few bottles of champagne and despite being almost empty we were refused because they were full, I feel it was because we weren't dressed up enough but I could be wrong.
A nice place but the opening few weeks seemed to be a bit better jn terms of service and quality. I did have the best espresso martini cocktail I've tried in Edinburgh on my first visit.

An alternative take on afternoon tea with a really tasty ‘tapas’ style flavoursome savoury mini tasters followed by Scottish themed cakes and tea. Views out across the Royal Mile in a trendy top floor vista.

We had visited in December 2021 and enjoyed a lovely white wine, but couldn’t remember the name. The girl who served us (sorry, can’t remember her name) could tell us what it was. Service from her in particular excellent and generally lovely setting, food, wine and service. Not cheap, but absolutely worth it; we’ll be back. 🌈

This is Champagne Bar located in the Market St Hotel. It has a roof terrace over looking Princes Gardens. We had a first class meal in here of Venison in red wine and bramble jus with roast potatoes with rosemary and sour cream and cress. Service was excellent

Nice rooftop bar. Friendly staff and (although I did not get a chance to test) good food. Don’t forget to check the view!

Lovely wine/champagne bar. Great views across the city and lovely staff. The food choice (just small plates if you're in the bar) is also very good and goes great with a glass of fizz

Really lovely place to go for cocktails with great views over the city.

Expensive at £14 a cocktail once you include the mandatory service charge but a lovely view of Edinburgh makes it worth it for 1 drink

NON-traditional afternoon tea. Very interesting take with great food served in place of wee sandwiches and a sausage roll. Small taster versions of steak, bream and pulled pork among the treats with scone and cakes to follow. Fine service and great views across to Princes Street and beyond. Well worth a visit.

Well worth a visit has some excellent cocktails all served by professional and friendly staff, how ever it's drinks are on the expensive side for similar establishments in the city.
Nice view over the gardens towards Princes Street.

Nice hotel room. Just what I was looking for a one night stand in Edinburgh and I wanted to be close to the station so couldn't lose. Known Edinburgh but left about 3 years ago and don't miss this life style at all.
4 start only as took me a while to realise that for checking needed to go to the top floor could be mentioned down the main entrance. The thought we can check in online is not every one has access to mobile and Internet all the time. And also didn't realise that needed to book early the table for breakfast but that is now at my advantage ☺️... Would I recommend this hotel yes if I know the person like this lifestyle and I know some of my old Edinburgh friends will like it so will spread the word..... Would I stay there again yes if travelling by train...... Overall well done to the staff.

We came here for drinks on a drizzly day and just took in the view over the roof of Waverley station to Prince's Street and the Scott memorial. Lovely staff, very nice rosé!
