Reviews of Robbies
B. M.
A really great traditional Scottish bar. Great character and a good selection of drinks. A real neighborhood bar
L. T.
Great local, nothing complicated about it. Easy place for an easy drink
H. P.
Great pub, not been in for a few years friendly staff and decent clientele
S. w. S.
Wasnt in robies was working on windows above but made some mess and they didnie moan once so canni be bad lads
G. O.
Decent beers on tap, had 2 handpulls, Fyne Ales & Stewart Brewing, enjoyed both but the Fyne one shaded it.
Good racing coverage, better than my bets.
Would definitely recommend for the serious drinker although I'm sure the amateurs get as warm a welcome.
M. W.
Friendly Local with choice of Real Ale.
A. J. B.
In for wee drink with my mate . Great wee pub
J. T.
Friendly bar staff. A lot of the customers can be a bit funny at first, but OK when they get to know you. I would highly recommend for Sport. But definitely not on a quiz Night. Unless you like watching it without Volume. Good all round pub though!!
j. s.
Great traditional bar good service and excellent choice of drinks
I. F.
Staff are friendly and helpful and very quick to serve, pub is tidy and has a nice atmosphere
I. G.
Just a great Leith pub excellent pint of Stella and always a good place to chill with terrific friendly knowledgeable staff and a good mix of punters old and new 👍.
m.
Good prices, Blue Moon on the tap and football on the screen 😁
L. G.
Lovely local pub with great service. Drinks are a great price while still using 35ml measures!
G. L.
Great Bar and Not to pricey as some of the bars in Leith are becoming.
Good selection of beers and real Ales. 5*
T. E.
Honest, friendly local Leith & Edinburgh pub with a positive outlook on life and a good selection of local real ales and beers.
Historically and aesthetically a tasteful and interesting boozer too.
You can be an everyday local, or a complete stranger, or anything in between, and you'll get a good welcome here, in my experience.
Gets busy when the football's on.
c. s.
God pub with good beer selection. Gets extremely crowded on match days. Real ales often warm if there's not much being sold. Not in the Good Beer Guide.
P. C.
Great location, lovely staff and terrific prices. Proper no nonsense pub.
N. S.
One of my favourite local pubs. Well kept beer, friendly atmosphere, reasonably priced drinks & a great place to enjoy a couple of drinks whilst watching the footie
P. D. L. N.
A Leith Walk classic. Affordable booze prices, good selection of cask ales, lagers, alcohol free beers, whisky and spirits in general. Robbies has several plasma screens for sports events (football & rugby, mainly) The service behind the bar is usually good and you get to know the locals too. Its interiors are classic and beautiful late XIX century style. If you are around, just pay a visit.
R. K.
Comfortable and friendly local bar... a cozy atmosphere, long and narrow... prices way better than the tourist pubs ... fair selection of beer and whiskey ... lots of tv's to watch the games ...
A. M.
Great bar, great staff and friendly customers! I always come here for a pint when I'm in Edinburgh and would recommend it to anyone! It is what it is... A warm, welcoming, friendly, honest to goodness pub!
K.
Traditional Edinburgh pub, popular with the local Hibs fans. Bar can be busy but staff cope well. Plenty of usual beers. Welcome relief from twee tourist pubs.

Robbie's - your typical footy loving, local, Leith boozer!
Now, I didn't think I'd really fit-in in a pub like this, with real Leith locals and footy fanatics, but on one of our Leith pub crawls - along came Robbie's, so I thought why not! It was a bit daunting at first, but you know it's not all that bad in there! It's a traditional pub with leather banquet seating, a great selection on draught and spirits, including a wheat beer on draught (my preferred liquid refreshment at the moment) a roaring open fire and the occasional dog! It's a bit rough around the edges but then that's what I expected.
More recently I went there for a mates birthday drinks, there was a big group of us, at least 20 and I was surprised how well the staff coped with us. We managed to secured a long section of the pub and there was even cake (supplied by ourselves)!
Sadly there's only one female toilet (which is the disabled toilet), I was told the female toilets are currently out of order and have been for a while, which on a busy Saturday night lead to cues outside the loo.
I wouldn't rush back to Robbie's as I prefer the atmosphere of the neighbouring pub The Tourmalet which has a much better selection of wheat beers and has a more homely feel.
L. F.
Great pub. Proper football pub. Great beer selection, wide range of whiskies, gins too. Perfectly poured ales and Guinness. Good selection of crisps and nuts too.
G. M.
Went on June the 5th. Staff were brilliant and first come first served at the time. No need to book.
L. B.
Cheap pub. For two doubles it cost less than a tenner which is unbelievably cheap for Edinburgh and you get 35ml on the optic not bad. First time here with friends and would recommend it.
M. M.
Best spot on the Walk for a pint, a malt of the month and a catch up with friends. Great staff, great prices, dog friendly and screens. We always gather at Robbie's when I'm in town!
W. T.
How have I missed this, a friendly, reasonably priced pub on the walk. Popped in during the afternoon, very friendly and good beer. Will definitely be back
b.
Lovely pub, good choice of ales
P. L.
One of my favourite pubs, brilliant atmosphere, good pint of real ale (usually about 4 to pick from), shows football on big screen, gets busy.
R. D.
Great fun good beer
S. M.
It might not seem much but if you want to have a real Scottish pub experience this is the place to be. Fare priced beers, sports playing on the tele, old and young folks having a talk. Was a perfect experience
J. R.
Great wee pub and atmosphere staff were very friendly, visited with my cousin as our grandparents had this pub then our father's so nice to go in relax and fullfill our memories, very clean toilets emaculate and staff and customers were very chatty.
T. E.
Great pub for watching sport. Fast service even at the busiest of times. Cheaper than most places nearby.
A. T.

J. M.
Fine but do we have to watch football !
i. t.
Proper pub, beer, rugby TV, socialising etc. Has not been closed down and turned into a gastro wine bar, that's good evidence right there.
A. S.

D. D.
Visited in the early afternoon and then later that night. Better, more chilled, in the afternoon but still pleasant at night (except for the two dogs fighting).
