Such an amazing atmosphere especially on Fridays and Saturdays when the DJ starts around 20:30/21:00. Staff seem incredible at meeting requests and helping customers. Can get busy yet standards of cocktails never decrease at all. A must visit for locals and tourists alike for a Slug and Lettuce experience like no other.

Came for a hot drink and ended up staying for food too. Hash browns were to die for!! And everything else was so good. We were basically the only ones here so were attended to very well. Smiles and relaxed atmosphere all round. So pretty will definitely bring my mum for a boozy brunch on mothers day. 😊😊

Where to start this place looks amazing after there new refurb also there new management who are working extremely hard. Ive been here for food and drink and cant fault it food was cooked to how i like it and drinks come quick and fast there was one person who stood out the most when i came her name was Joice she a very hard worker. Came for a birthday lunch. Location is great it’s a really pretty place. Everyone at the party enjoyed there food and service was great. Only downside was for myself as a gluten free vegan person it was lovely to have a choice of options but on the day the main I chose was off as was the pudding so that was really disappointing. Cocktails were amazing but crazy expensive and more ice than alcohol.

Very good service and attentive bar staff. Was served by Katy at the door who was lovely, Deni on the floor who was absolutely unreal and then when I had an question James on the bar was extremely helpful and obviously great at his job. Place is in very good hands overall, one of the top locations in Edinburgh city centre.

Had a great time tonight thanks to Katie. The minute we walked in she greeted us with a smile, we were late due to our train being cancelled and she still accommodated us and couldn’t be nicer; she also helped us get a charger when our phone was about to die and if it wasn’t for her we wouldn’t have been able to get our train home as our tickets are on our phone. All in all, 10/10 experience especially thanks to this girl, will definitely be back, she made us feel right at home!

I come through to Edinburgh every so often for day trips and always come here if I'm after a few drinks. It's a very well laid out bar, with fresh and bright decor, the cocktails are delicious and they have a great selection of food/nibbles to keep you going on a night out. I didn't catch everyone's names but Lewis, Hugo and the team where all great and very friendly, including the manager on shift who was very friendly and upbeat. Always a great place to visit. See you all next time.

Nice newly refurbished surroundings and greeted by a pleasant girl. Our first choice of food on the menu wasn't available so had to have a rethink, chose the smothered chicken. Recently been to the newly refurbished slug & Lettuce on George St, the inside is stunning, modern bright and airy. Social distancing is still ongoing and as you walk in someone by the door checks your booking and you check in for the track and trace before being shown to your table. We were only having drinks on this occasion and we were served by a lovely girl Becca. She was a very happy polite young girl who chatted to us each time she brought over our drinks. Even though the bar was busy and all the staff were working full out she was always smiling. Which is nice to see. We had several different cocktails while we were there, they were all brilliant can’t fault them. Next time we come we will definitely try the food as this looked and smelled amazing. Keep up the good work guys. 👏👏👏

Visited here on 28/07/2021 , all started off okay staff were really nice, We got our drinks fairly fast despite the place being packed full. The food is very average wouldn’t eat here again though. The desserts came and it wasn’t until I had a couple of bites and there was a chunk of tangled hair in my dessert, not just one piece of hair, a whole chunk of hair. We sent the dessert back and the manager (i’m guessing) sent a new one out and said he would issue a refund but no refund was issued. I can see why this place is really popular for drinks though, but I certainly won’t be ordering food from here again nor recommending it. Will be back for drinks next time I’m in Edinburgh.

Great cocktail selection as always, can't fault that. We had issues with ordering. Was told we can only see the drinks menu through the app. Tried downloading it but WiFi server didn't work and no signal in the bar. Asked for a paper menu and was given the one print out they had, all fuzzy as done from screenshots of the app. I understand changes have had to be made due to COVID but a batch of disposable menus or some that can be wiped clean should have been available to people who cannot get online.

I've been in many bars within this brand and this was one of the worst. Sticky tables ,no soap or even water in the gents toilets so my husband went back to the main door to use the sanitizer. The chilli con carne I ordered came out cold so was sent back it was sent back to me with hot sour cream and soggy nachos obviously the whole dish had been shoved in a microwave with no thought to the end result . The only positive about this visit was the bar staff who were great

Visited the slug and lettuce in Edinburgh. What a palaver. Took us around 30 minutes to get a drink each. Had to download their app, fill in personal details, find the correct venue, find the drinks/cocktails which are in different sections so you have to jump in and out instead of a simple search facility, pay by credit card for every order, then wait for your drinks to arrive. Once the app is set up it did quicken the process a little but you still have to re-enter all the details. The app also asks for your date of birth, can they not see I am over 18 considering I'm in my 50s? Anyone could enter any age in that section so it's just not necessary. What happened to a simple drinks order paid by cash, it's pretty straight forward. Bank of England has confirmed there is very little risk of catching Covid from bank notes.

Staff were very accommodating, good procedures in place around staff wearing masks, and ordering only via the app. Cocktails lovely as always! And staff very friendly. A few tables that were clearly more than 2 x households (groups of 6 x teenagers at tables) so a little disappointed there was no monitoring of this, but tables well spaced apart so didn't feel this was putting our own table at any additional risk

Varied drinks menu, good atmosphere and value for money. We weren’t able to prebook anything specific as the offers were limited, but cash deposit was refunded at the bar, worked a treat. Furniture could do with a freshen up, stained chairs etc. Also there weren’t enough chairs for the number we’d booked for, apparently this can’t be guaranteed. Bar staff were wonderful but absolutely rushed off their feet, waited 15-25 minutes each time at the bar. When I asked one how they manage like this, they said “you just deal with it then go home and cry”. The place was mobbed, there’s no way labour costs are beyond the money the establishment must be bringing it, get more staff on shift!!

Not the best experience here. Hardly any gluten free options, no meat options before 4pm. My friends all ordered the wraps and they were all given the wrong ones, not good when one is a vegetarian who was given a chicken wrap! Cocktails were good although very slow service and quite over priced to some places. They did take the drinks off as a sorry which was nice but expected after a mistake like that.
