Reviews of Teuchters
M. R.
Excellent local pub. They have a whisky selection and a solid tap selection. The staff are friendly and helpful and they take pride in their food. The fish plate was more than ample for two and the mackerel pate was a standout. I would come here for dinner without hesitation and enjoy a pint or 3 as well.
S. F.
What a relaxing and nice pub. Businessmen, locals & a customer's dog greeted me. Lots of gluten free options, food & drinks we're great. Staff waited on me while waiting for the rest of my lost group. Such a nice pub & experience.
K. M.
Great Pub!! These folks took great takenof our whole group. Had a variety of delicious food and several flights of Scotch Whiskeys. Many thanks to the crew, they made an authentic Edinburgh pub experience a reality!

Cosy nice atmosphere. Friendly, kind and knowledgable staff.Good, professional and fast table service. The food was excellent. We ate mussles and fish board. This was my best mussles i've ever eat. Real ale, plenty of whiskeys and other spirits too. If you can choose then try the three whiskey flight. I think we sat upstairs - but not sure as it was in the street level. I recommend this place. We were there on a Sunday evening but was busy. I am sure i will go back again when i am here.

The kelpies were such a fun surprise. I had been told since I can't walk far that I wouldn't get to see them, but I brought my American handicap placard and had been told that it works in the UK as well. So when we pulled up we simply showed the placard and they are showed us right up to the front next to the cafe and gift shop and museum area and to the kelpies themselves. The informational video was awesome. It really taught me a lot about the area and the history of the kelpies. I would highly recommend visiting it if you're traveling that way. I don't know if it'll become one of the wonders of the world, but they certainly are intriguing, unique, and a fun break from driving.

My first visit was a random discovery. The food and drink is first rate. I'm now on my second visit of the day and may well be back tomorrow.
M. T.
Very rugby focused, but even if you’re not a fan come for the great food and atmosphere. Get a flight of whisky to finish off your meal.
M. S. S.
Great place. Fantastic service. The staff was extremely welcoming and helpful. The have quite a good variety of whisky and very knowledgeable about the drinks they have. Nice beer selection as well. A fantastic place all around.
j. d.
Great place to spend a couple of hours for a couple of beers, interior is very quirky with a great choice of craft beers and plenty Whisky. Didn't try the food but it did look tasty so I will try on my next visit then I have no doubt it will be 5 stars. All this backed up by polite knowledgeable staff.
B. S.
Great selection of beers and tasty food! Great atmosphere as well
A. W.
Classic pub with great service! A good range of drinks and decor was well suited, creating a cosy feel to the venue. Did not try the food but from spying on other table's orders I was very jealous, it looked delicious!
A. D.
Reserved a table for 4, enjoyed macaroni cheese in mugs and lots of wine and gin.
Excellent service, lovely friendly staff. Busy, but in a nice way, good atmosphere.
D. B.
Comfortable, convivial, what a neighborhood pub should be. Lively but not phrenetic. decent selection of beers and drinks and good variety of snacks and mains. A little off the beaten path makes it cozier.
V. S.
Great experience. Very authentic Scottish food. Ambience was very cozy. Large collection of drinks. Not a place to miss while you are at Edinburgh.
L. S.
Was recommended this place from our Aurbnb owner and wasn't disappointed. What a lovely place food was great and the service was brilliant. Also spent a few hours trying to work out the people on the mural on the wall, I'm sure Father Christmas isn't Scottish 😀
C. T.
4 of us we're here for a long weekend and went here for dinner they have a varied menu and the food we had was delicious 😋 they have a great range of whiskies and beers worth a visit but do book it can get busy
C. M.
Absolutely out of this world. We come here everytime we visit Edinburgh, it's usually our first stop as soon as we get off the plane. Highly recommended, the food is stunning!
A. J.
Coziest pub I’ve ever been in and the food was EXCELLENT
C. R.
Well stocked bar
Great choice of beer and whisky
Food looked great (although did not eat)
Good vibe
Well worth a visit, although does get busy
S. C. G.
First dinner out in Edinburgh and it was great. There is a ground floor, ideal for sports, drinks, and chat. The basement is cosy, has its own bar, and good ambience for dinner, far from the noise upstairs.
The service was great and very friendly, although a bit too wary of Covid (I don't think it makes any sense to make the guest pick everything from the plate by themselves, but some folks might appreciate the extra measures).
Good selection of beers. I asked for a stout and I was served a March of Penguin's, which I really enjoyed.
The food was excellent! Chips were handcut and perfectly fried. I had the venison sausage and the haggies in a mug (more like a thick stew of haggies) and I really can't decide which I enjoyed more.
Missus had the steak pie, homemade, and delicious from the filling to the gravy.
If you are looking for a feel of pub food in Edinburgh I can totally recommend this place!
M. B.
One of the best pubs in Edinburgh (at least, in my opinion). Very relaxed, helpful bar staff and great choice of drinks. I hear the food is good too.
A. Y.
Great bar, homely, atmospheric, with agreeable and friendly staff. Good selection of beers and lagers. If you're in the West End it's well worth a visit.
P. S.
Lovely pub upstairs which has an impressive selection of whiskies and great bistro downstairs. Great service, reasonable prices, excellent food.
T. W.
I do enjoy Teuchters; nice beers and tasty food (Mac in a mug); we've been back there a few times now! Worth booking ahead of time as there aren't a massive number of tables downstairs
P. S.
Weekend break in Edinburgh found this absolute gem. Tried the Cullen Skink and the Stovies never had either and they were superb. Good selection of ales and non / low alcohol beers - highly recommended
B.
I hosted a large event here, and Peter & his staff at Teuchters could not have been more accommodating! The place is absolutely fantastic. Very warm and welcoming, great location, and solid food and drink. Looking forward to many returns.
J. C.
Great Pub food, we had the Venison burger, Venison hot dog, mac & cheese, and Haggis Neeps and Tatties. All of them were great.
Beer selection is also great, several on both Cask and Keg.
Finally, the Whisky selection...one of the best in Edinburgh. Their tasting flights are great way to get started, and the knowledgeable bar staff are happy to help.
This place gets super busy if there's any kind of sport on, you definitely want to book!
D.
Excellent day today watching rugby in the bunker. Food was fab, atmosphere really good and staff were really friendly attentive.
A. M.
I loved it! Great beers, great Scotch, excellent food. Great price. Nice atmosphere. Super friendly staff. Can't go wrong.
M. J.

A fantastic gastro pub I visit every time I'm in Edinburgh. My first time back since 2020, and I wasn't disappointed.
I. L.
Best pint of Timothy Taylor's Landlord I have had outside Yorkshire. Nice burger as well 😀
M. W.
Good, local pub that’s a regular for my friends in Edinburgh. Had delicious fish and chips – and IPA (they let me try it first). My friend had a side of macaroni and cheese. Yum. And hosts were very friendly and welcoming. Will definitely be back.
a. c. s.
Great service. Great food. Well priced. Great selection of drinks.
J. N.
Absolutely fabulous pub. Didn't try food but looked amazing. Will probably try next visit.
k. S.
Great old style bar and their food is excellent, Haggis, tatties and neeps is very good, great selection of beers too. Tucked away off the beaten track but definitely worth a visit if your in the West end. Very welcoming bar with friendly staff, would highly recommend.
P. P.
Not at the very city centre so it wasnt packed, great atmosphere, kind service and great food. Large choice of beers and whiskey. Go for it
D. W.
Great Scottish pub food. Tried the Cullen skink here. Really nice for a cold evening.
Came again on a separate occasion and realized that you can go downstairs where there's a larger selection of food. Ordered the lamb shoulder which was really impressive. Really enjoyed my visit.
S.
We stopped by for a late dinner. We all really enjoyed our meals. Great, friendly service and of course an unique wall!
J. R.
Nice place for a drink, really cosy atmosphere with the fires and dog friendly. Food was tasty and hot. Wide variety of whisky available and some great local and independent beers too.
M. S.
Great pub, lovely staff, lovely beer.
S. B.
Good pub, drinks quite pricey - food was a bit singed but would recommend.
T.
Great pub, second to none service, great choice of draught and spirits. They never disappoint!
G. C.
Downstairs is really cosy, great food and very reasonably priced
E. U.
Great bar; staff are welcoming, fantastic choice of beers and spirits, and a good menu with some Scottish classics available.
J. D.
Amazing whisky choices, and fun hoop game. Definitely worth a shot!
M. M.
Good Food, good Drinks and friendly staff!

My dad and I had a great scallop risotto and beat the crowd on a Wednesday evening. Service was attentive. The atmosphere was dark but welcoming.
R. C.
Great pub with large selection of ale and beers. Super atmosphere.
M. R.
My favorite place during a week in Edinburgh. Good pub food, reasonably priced whiskey flights and other drinks + a very friendly and competent staff.
B. C.
Great pub for beers and range of whisky
S.
Had a great time watching West Ham win! Staff were friendly, helpful and very knowledgeable about their drinks too! Definitely recommend
M. T.
Wood panelling, honest pub, not trying too be too clever. From the decor, looks like a great place to watch rugby. Food great, staff friendly and helpful. I'd go back again.
D. S.
Good old-style bar with good home-style food. Welcoming and friendly staff, and good ambient atmosphere.
M. T.
Had a great day of beers (a wide variety is available) and rugby in this cosy and high energy pub in Edinburgh’s West End.
D. M.
Great atmosphere nice and cosy, food great all freshly made. Staff friendly as well..
S. S.
Really good little pub. Staff very friendly and accommodating. Nice setting. Great selection of drinks.
E. A.
The steak was awesome and I even enjoyed the haggis which normally I would not.
G. B.
This nice pub has great beer and mouth watering food
K. M.
There's a large selection of whisky and for the price of a dram you get 3 attempts to ring toss the bottles behind the bar; hoop a bottle to win a drink or miss 3 times and be given the dreaded "sheep dip" 😂
Mac n cheese, curry and other comfort foods are sold by the mug and I am here for that
D. F.
Absolutely great food and service. We got plenty of attention from the servers even though they had two large parties. Highly recommend this place.
J. A.
Friendly service, a great selection of whiskies and a delicious fish platter and cullen skink. One of the best pubs in Edinburgh.
S. M.
A pretty good pub with a decent choice of beer and good atmosphere
A. H.
Great service, great food, great atmosphere.
S. D.
Nice friendly atmosphere, good choice of whiskey and some good ales.
R. C.
Found this great pub only a few minutes walk from Edinburgh centre. Good beer and wine.
D. T.
Nice range of beers and good menu. Staff very welcoming and attentive.
E. B.
Brilliant for drinks up stairs and food down stairs!
A. P.
Great, friendly pub and the team are so lovely and helpful. I felt like I’d had a whiskey masterclass.
R. B.
Nice place that we went to after work for some drinks. Plenty of seating available although it was a bit pricier for a round, I suppose due to the location.
R. C.
Quaint pub with some of the nicest food and views in Edinburgh. Their seafood is generously portioned and amazingly tasty. There are also a wide selection of ales, beers, wines and whiskies. Prices are not extravagant for such fine cuisine either. And the atmosphere almost tops it off. One of the best pubs in Edinburgh, hands-down.
j. l.
Food was fabulous,staff were lovely
D. C.
Great, friendly pub in a good backstreet location. Good selection of beers and whisky.
A. C.
Nice old fashioned pub, gpod place for a. Proper pint from a great selection of ales.
Cider is also very good! Nice homemade food too: I've gone for the Daily Soup, very warmly and comforting, with a hint of spiciness. Haggis is also awesome!! Definitely a must try.
G. M.
Great pub, good beer, good atmosphere.
Y.
Quaint, friendly olde worlde pub with a great selection of beer and whisky, and the food is top notch too. What's not to love....?
R. M.
Great pub for a meet up. Has a fun game where for £4 you get three throws with a small plastic hoop at the back shelf bottles. Get it over a whiskey bottle and get a measure of whatever single malt's inside. Miss on all 3 and get a measure of of house blended whiskey. Good fun.
Also has a great selection of bar snacks.
e. g. I.
Since the pandemic some things have changed: There is open seating with strict rules regarding masks , seating and track and trace, but in all important ways, Teuchters is as I wrote 6 years ago:
This is my local and one of the best features of where I live. Friendly even when the place is teeming with rugby supporters who didn't just win, it is a well-run house. Whisky choices are more than ample and interesting. Wine choices are also good. Mug menu does the trick when hungry. I go there to watch Wimbledon, but also to read. Friends from all over the world remember when they've been to Teuchter's. The owners and staff are great people and great neighbours. it's just my favourite pub in Edinburgh and a real blessing to have them open once again!.
A. S.
Highly recommend this Bistro! We have just had a great meal at a reasonable price. Excellent service in a relaxed atmosphere. Our kids thoroughly enjoyed the food and the smaller plate option allowed our adventurous eaters a good selection.
E. M.
Great pub feel. Great choice of beverages with special concoctions promotions. Bar menu is simple with traditional comfort foods such as haggis, tatties and neeps, stovies or Mac & cheese served in cups of mugs. Really delicious.
D. S.
Great place, beer and staff fantastic. Restaurant below is really good. Has potential to be something incredible, chefs on the right track. Great value as it is. Good hearty Scottish menu. Recommended for tourists... and I'm a local!
N. S.
Really nice meal. Service was great and friendly. Food was really quick as well as really tasty.
We had wristbands for the Gin festival, the Gin and the cocktail were great as well.
Will definitely go back.
I. B.
Good range of beers and real ales. Good selection of single Mt if that's your thing. Great location. Central but tucked away just enough to avoid the tourists. Proper good pub. Well worth the visit if your up that end of town.
B. C.
We had a very enjoyable evening with our Son and his wife exploring new single malts... starting with a good pub meal, I had to have haggis! Comfortable and friendly, good value.
J. L.
This is a hidden gem. I've been here lots of time and every single time the staff have been excellent.
Hats off to the person who recruits and/or trains staff as this is what makes a pub.
Good food too. I like seeing smaller dishes as options as often I don't want a big meal when out for a night out. Mug of Mac and Cheese is fab.
C. G.
One of the best pubs in the West End! Comfy seats (although getting one on a Friday evening is often difficult!), good selection of beers and plenty whisky to chase it!
They like to show a bit of sport on the tellies but it's not really the primary focal point and doesn't overly distract from conversations and general banter if you couldn't care less who wins!
A. F.
Great welcome, good selection of food and drink. A must visit in Edinburgh
J. B.
Had such a good time here. We were just in Edinburgh for a few days, a friend who lives locally took us here and we had a blast. Really fun place, very busy but very friendly atmosphere so that was cool and the hoop game made drinking whiskey even more fun.
V. T.
Amazing. Food was great- had the haggis and ox cheek. Very, very good. The desserts were also fabulous. Definitely recommend.
L. D.
Food was great but the service a bit off. Waiters couldn't recommend wine and some beer orders were wrong.
R. G.
Great pub, great beers!
M. S.
Local and authentic pub, very nice to sit in, good music and great atmosphere. Huge selection of whiskeys and beers and of course delicious food, highly recommend.
N. H.
Relaxed, friendly atmosphere. Good bar meal that hits the spot.
C. P.
Countryside in the middle of the city. On the quiet William street, Teuchter’s is not to be overlooked. One of the best spots in the west end. Great selection of proper Scottish food and drinks. Stunning selection of whiskeys and good fun when playing the “hoop of destiny”. For a flat fee you can try you luck (or your inebriated hoop throwing abilities) and land yourself a decent whisky if the hoop lands on your desired bottle. An absolutely great find off the beaten path!
P. C.
Great bar just a couple of minutes from the west end side of Princes Street. Some nice craft beers on offer, decent gin list and great selection of whisky
B. B. H.
It has a geat basement restaurant
D. C.
Really nice seating area downstairs with candles.
S. B.
Really delicious food and wonderful service, I cannot recommend this lovely little place enough
A. F.
A nice, cosy and casual pub. Great for meeting up with friends for drinks and they have a fire going in the winter. Can be crowded at the bar on weekends but usually possible to get a table for a small party
D. H.
We visited the restaurant on a week night and found the place to be very quiet. The food was well priced and the ambiance inviting. The flavours were simple and relied heavily on salt (Scottish food I suppose). The server smelled of cigarettes
N. W.
Excellent food and service. Strange as it may seem you can take your own wine. Was a joy to be able to eat real Scottish fare and very much enjoyed it.
S. C.
Loads of pride in this pub taken by staff who let us taste the locally brewed beers. The perfect pub. Traditional get modern. In a beautiful part of town too.
G. S.
Great wee restaurant, downstairs below a great wee pub. Bit meat - heavy for my liking, but they always have a couple of fish and veggie options. Very good staff.
A. M.
Great reasonably priced food and wine. Well worth a visit.
C. G.
Teuchters is closed at the moment due to the Covid lockdown. Normally it is full of office workers from the many lawyers and financial institutions in the immediate area. The food is good and there is an excellent choice of beers, wines and spirits. Hope it survives lockdown.
N. R.
Good range of beers available and quick table service via their app.
A. M.
Just finished Beef Stew in a mug along with a pint of Jarl, could not fault either, will definitely be back for more. Word of warning, make sure you are hungry before ordering the large mug!
Been 3 years since I posted the review above. Still a great place for beer and food.
J. R.
Me and my girlfriend love this place. Our first visit just popped in for a quick one and ended up staying for a few and played the hoop of destiny! Will come again next time we visit Edinburgh!
A. S.
The best place in Edinburgh to watch the Rugby. Atmosphere great and bar staff are amazing. Considering how busy they serve you quickly and make sure everyone is looked after.
K. M.
Awesome! Best pub there is along with Teuchters landing.
D. J.
Old style pub with a very good selection of ales, spirits and cocktails. Breakfasts available till 12.30pm and other dining options are available. Has sports TV etc.
H. H.
meals tasted so good 😄
D.
Great atmosphere, very cosy
M. M.
Teuchters boasts of one of the largest whisky selections in Edinburgh and it's easy to see why. This West End bar is brilliant when it's not stuffed to the gills with rugby fans on match day. I've gotten to that age where a seat and the ability to hear conversation are important elements in a pub, so when Teuchters is only slightly busy it's the optimum time. If you're hungry, you can get classic comfort food served in a giant mug. The stovies are tasty. The staff are pretty friendly too.
H. G.
Cozy, friendly and welcoming, a really authentic spot with a great selection of whiskies. I really am sad the fishboard is off the menu though as it was my fav!
C. K.
Nice decent cafe with some pretty good food as well. Need to head down the bar to the restaurant though
C. S.
Dropped in here for a couple of pints, great pub and the guys behind the bar are very pleasant. Food looks really good, will be back to try it.
K. M.
One of the best pubs in the city, never disappoints with drink, food, or atmosphere. Cosy during the day and lively at night. Drink prices are on the upper end in Edinburgh, but I keep coming back anyway.
J.
Very local pub. I liked a lot. Good beer, actually not very cold, but good atmosphere, friendly company, and nice place.
S. F.
Perfect place for a quiet pint in a big leather chair most evenings. When it's quiet, a stovie (a hot mug of filling stew or haggis and mash) and a pint in front of the fire is blissful.
Come rugby season, though, it's standing room only and a bit of a streetparty outside. Jolly good fun and pleasant sporting crowds, but be warned, it's like an entirely different place!
F. K.
Love this bar. Not local but have drunk here for decades and through a few changes. Real ale offering is superb. Jarl and Landlord on draught were particularly good. Will be back. You can be sure. Aye.
B. A.
Distancing was observed and there was a decent level of cleanliness. I enjoyed a pint of Jarl but was disappointed that Deuchers IPA was no longer available.
T. B.
Had such a wonderful time here with friends on Christmas Eve. Felt like we were in the middle of the countryside in the middle of the city. Loved the food in mugs; great drinks and enjoyed playing the Hoop of Destiny.
B. G.
Good pub with a traditional feel. Offers a range of beers and spirits including malt whiskies. Lots of nooks and crannies add to the ambience. Well worth a visit.
A. S.
Nice bistro pub. Meals in the restaurant "A Room In The West End" a tad expensive but very good.
S. H.
Friendly pub. The shared fish board was fresh, varied and very tasty.
C. P. B.
Nice and cosy place, good food and great drinks menu.
P. S.
Absolutely our best pub experience first trip to Edinburgh. Staff, in particular Robb gave us a thoroughly pleasant introduction to the local brews of Scotland and, on a return trip, explained the variations of whisky in the different regions and climates innthe. As an added treat we met some locals and transplants who made us feel a welcome part of a very convivial crowd. Won't soon forget this delightful evening. BTW Also sampled our first Cullen Skinkdelicious.
K. S.
Christmas party dinner. Good lovely, service good. Cold coffee and no mince pies as offered on menu. Disappointed
E. T.
Cosy, friendly bar with a large range of whiskies. Fun whisky game where you try to hoop the whisky you want to try with a plastic hoop, if you win you get the one you hoop, if not you get Sheep Dip, a blend which is still tasty! The atmosphere is always brilliant in here.
S. J.
Fantastic local spot. Menu is limited, but everything is fantastic. My foodie wife and myself were here every night in Edinburgh on a recent trip. Excellent service and food. Highly recommended. Especially the Sea Bream.
L. M.
Always great place to have a drink (especially in the winter with the fire going). Really friendly staff and one of (if not the) best full Scottish vegetarian breakfasts in Edinburgh.
C. M.
Nice place, friendly service good beer and food, everything we wanted
N. M.
Well respected drinking hole for people who drink proper beer and the modern stuff is available too. Staff are well trained and keen. Mega haunt post rugby games.
C. C.
Very nice meal. Servers friendly. Food delicious.
L. W.
The best Italian restaurant I have eat. The service is also very nice.
N. L.
Great selection and atmosphere
E. P.
We really enjoyed our meal - veggie haggis, neeps & tatties, and a nice glass of wine. The atmosphere was nice, the music was old school (in a good way) and the service was friendly.
M. C.
Great for a rugby crowd. Staff were very welcoming. Prices were steep but they serve a great pint.
G. G.
If you're looking for a traditional pub. This is it with bells on. All the feel of an oldy worldy local but great Scottish tapas served in mugs and excellent selection drinks
R. H.
A proper low-ceilinged pub in the West End's slightly bohemian William Street and a legendary venue for 6 nations suppporters Teuchters (coming from a Lowland Scots term for Gaelic speaking Highlanders) is a charming place to spend some time.
Behind the bar there's a serious whisky selection that caters to all budgets and a good selection of beers on tap, food options are a mug menu of warming favourites that are seriously filling along with filled rolls. Sport is usually shown on the TVs but with the sound off unless it's a major event so it won't interrupt your time there.
It does get seriously busy on a 6 nations weekend but the buzz and warmth of the customers makes it a great spot to watch the match or refuel on the way back from Murrayfield.
D.
Love this pub, especially on rugby days
D. A.
Great pub. Always packed which says a lot. Very good beer and whiskey selection. Great for a drink
A. A.
That was genuinely a pleasure to go to this restaurant, the food was great (huuum this vegetarian dish!!!), the staff lovely and the service was great!
H. D.
Wonderful Venison sausages.
A. G.
Lovely bar. Great selection of beers.
N. M.
Fantastic pub. Great selection of beers and whiskeys. Staff are very helpful. Nice traditional Scottish hospitality
S. C.
We went there to see a rugby match: It was very crawded but i really enjoy the genuine atmosphere, as well as the choice of beers and the kitchen. Reccomended.
N.
Big portions of great food, friendly staff. Also very flexible with dietary requirements. Massive range of beers, whiskies and gins in the bar upstairs.
A. S.
We had a meal in the restaurant downstairs which was typical Scottish fare. It was well cooked and delicious. The Cullen Skink and haggis were particularly good.
J. P.
Friendly staff offering a variety of dishes which are good value for money.
H. T.
Fantastic food. Best dinner I had for years.
R. S.
Surpsingly busy for a Monday night. Lovely food. TV showing the football quietly. And a good selection at the bar. All rather good 👍
G. W.
In Edinburgh for work and popped in here for a drink. A typical period Scottish pub nicely done out and with very friendly staff and locals. Great place for a drink and chat.
M. S.
Stumbled upon this brilliant wee pub when I had job training around the corner. Really nice friendly staff and the food was absolutely delicious!!
Going to make it a regular stop 😀😀😀
R. K.
First class pie and gravy . Pity about the football
S. M. H.
Cosy atmosphere. The drink selection is impressive and average price. Food in the restaurant is of great quality.
R. D.
Best bar in Edinburgh.
K. F.
Amazing selection of whisky and beer, great pub food (haggis was awesome!) and fun local ambiance.
A. B.
Happy to visit a room in the west end as it was our work Christmas gathering and they certainly didn't disappoint anyone. All the three courses that I ordered were cooked to perfection. The cod as a starter was just amazing - followed by lamb which was so succulent that it just melted in my mouth. Finally it was the chocolate pudding that finished a great three course. Highly recommend this place 👍
D. H.
Knowledgeable staff and friendly locals. Didn't eat but food coming out looked good. Too many whiskys to choose from but bar staff helped.
M. J.
Nice place with good atmosphere and friendly. Quite expensive though, with almost £5 for a pint, so I don't go often.
T. R.

Delightful basement restaurant with alcoves and friendly staff. Nice local / Scottish food regularly changing. BYOB as well as licensed.

Difficult to review as it was Rugby day so it was stuffed with punters. No Deuchers!!!!
Seemed well organised on busy day but should be given location to Murrayfield

Had the "mug" chicken curry and it was excellent. Teuchters had a very nice atmosphere and I definitely recommend it.
K. S.

C. L.
Nice basement restaurant, went for a meal out whilst visiting Edinburgh.
Booked a table over the phone, as we wanted one of the "cosy alcove tables", very pleased.
Food was delicious, with generously sized portions, and a nice pub atmosphere. Staff were friendly and attentive, and food arrived promptly.
A. W.
Very busy pub but with a great crowd. Off the high street so not completely full of tourists. And there is the whisky selection. Massive.
J. L.
Fantastic pub with amazing selection of whiskies. Looks busy on match days but there is usually a quick route to the bar
L. S.
Dropped in for a drink and a bite to eat. The haggis stovies with oatcakes is delicious. My boyfriend had the teuchter hotdog which was excellent too. Will definitely be back to sample something else on the menu.
P. S.
I ask for beer, they give me it, as long as I pay. The staff are charming, witty and erudite. They have tables and seats. Who can forget the toilets where you can spend a penny without paying for it?

Food was great and relatively inexpensive. Probably the best haggis, neeps and tatties I've ever had! Lovely gravy.
Great selection of beers and whiskys, with flights of whisky also available. I went for the lowland flight, and whilst I wasn't a fan of those particular malts, it was great to get to sample a few new ones.
The pub upstairs is very welcoming - traditional with fire and boardgames.

A wonderful Scottish restaurant with local produce and great plates of delicious food. The menu is laden with well cooked appetizers and mains catering to a Scottish palate with partridge and haggis needs and tatties. The lamb shank with red cabbage was wonderful. The restaurant is centrally located and very close to the tram and bus stop and so is easily accessible. They have a good selection of beers and wines. It is also attached to a local pub (Teachers)that boasts of an amazing whiskey collection to finish your night. Great service and an rustic ambience make it a wonderful night out.
