Reviews of The Bow Bar

Great little pub. We visited during lockdown so it was a bit surreal. Limited numbers and a teddy bear on the table either side.
They specialise in local beer, gin and scotch.
Well worth a visit.

If you are real ale and whiskey (over 390!!!) lover you'll be well happy to take a seat in this little pub. Staff is welcoming, pleasant and knowledgeable. Perfectly conditioned cask ale is served from 8 air pressure tall fonts which it's a rare way of dispensing beer nowadays. Simply must visit if you haven't already.

Excellent traditional real ale and whisky bar. Dozens of beers, hundreds of Whiskies, easy going atmosphere. Other customers were up for a chat about what beer I was drinking and which whisky. Was it good? Why go for that etc. Very enjoyable.

One of my new found favourite bars! Solid Draught options, with both keg and cask, huge can and bottle range, with an extensive Whisky selection, there is something for everyone, beginners to the more discerning palate. The staff here are knowledgeable, friendly and helpful, its clear they have a passion for Craft Beer and Whisky based on the selection available and liquid rotation. While a small venue, it's big in character, lively and popular, it has a wood burning stove and a charming traditional decor. Located in the heart of Edinburghs Old Town between the Grassmarket and Royal Mile its easy to find. Consistent in its approach you can go back time and time again to great service, a lovely environment and good drink!

Lovely little bar in the Old Town serving a fantastic array of local craft and real ale beers, ciders and spirits. Bar staff very friendly and knowledgeable. Currently limited capacity and table service only due to Covid.

Awesome pub with a great selection of scotch (over 400) and incredibly good beer, an especially good selection of cask ales that is hard to find nowadays.
The staff are very nice and knowledgeable so if you have any questions they always seemed happy to answer.
The place isn't big however and fills up quickly but customer turnover is fairly high, we stayed for just over an hour and most tables had turned over twice. So if you're told that there's going to be a bit of a stood up wait, it's definitely worth waiting until tables free up.

Small and cozy bar in the centre of the Old Town. There's usually a wait at peak hours, but the quality and selection of beverages is worth it! The staff is friendly and are knowledgeable about the drinks. There's table service only, and it is fast. Would definitely come here again.

Great selection of different kinds of whisky and ale. A wonderful little pub to stop in mid afternoon along-the-way for a small drink. Recommend this place.

Fabulous bar, great choice of beers served by caring and knowledgeable staff. Great background music too at a low level. Very chilled and sociable.

Fantastic pub with great staff and great beer. Covid restrictions taken seriously (unlike Johnson) so felt safe in a great environment
