H. T.A lovely pub that serves your Guiness with the ever familiar shamrock!
The bar bites are straight forward and unpretentious, savoury with the spicy chicken packing a nice little punch.
It's bar service now and nice to see a bit of enjoyable atmosphere coming back to savouring a pint!
The oat stout is a nice refreshing choice as well.
P/s: very clean facilities upstairs!

a. l.Such a classy Scottish pub! Love the decor and the vibe is fantastic. Great selection of beer and drinks. Reasonable price consider it is just a little corner away from Princes Street.
M. C.One of my long time favourites. Knowledgeable, polite staff. Lovely to look at , friendly customers. I remember years ago the staff were impeccable in their handling of a guy who was being an absolute a###hole to me and my woman friend. This was 30+ years back. I was so impressed. They took our complaint seriously. I recommend this pub to anyone who asks.
Y. A.A traditional pub with shiny bronze fittings and railings at a bar with friendly people ready to serve you and give you explanations on the different beers. They will be happy to offer you samples of the various ales.
If you decide to eat there, which I recommend, you will find a menu with a variety of dishes for every taste. I am sire that after a couple restaurants you will always go back!! We did!! A word of advice: if you intend to have dinner there try to be in before 17:00, because it will be packed!!
M. D.One of THE best traditional pubs left in Edinburgh. Superb selection of ales and guest ales. Always a good atmosphere and never a spot of trouble. Serves great food too. Nice, comfortable bar right in the city centre.
E. T.It is always an utter delight to bask in the beauty of this glorious bar. A keen selection of guest ales and permanent tap beers & ciders guarantees that only staying for OBE is a tad unlikely. For those not so fond pints, there is a lovely wine selection and a rather nice selection of spirits. The decor is to die for, and they also sell some rather good bar snacks. Though it has been some time since I sampled their dinner menu, I recall it being rather nice. A proper old style bar that has personality, class and quality. Can get very busy between about 5pm and 8pm, but that only echoes and reinforces the accolades I place upon the Guildford Arms.
M. R.We've been here before but due to Covid & not being out much, not for a good while. Phoned up. Really pleasant & easy to book a table. Great food & drink & service. The chicken/ haggis meal was absolutely delicious. Proper boiled potatoes with skin on, nice veg & sauce & lovely chicken/ haggis/bacon. Will be back when in Edinburgh

Brilliant interior and great staff make this a place to visit when in Edinburgh.
