Reviews of The Mitre Bar
T. C.
Nice pub with dining area, definitely overpriced but at least their food was nice. Both our servers were polite and helpful, the kitchen did have a lot of 86s but the waitress made sure to inform us in advance. Steak ale pie looked better than it tasted, but again, it was not bad.
A. P.
Really Nice restaurant. The position is great. We order typical food (smoked salmon, the Scottish pies ..) and it was delicious.
C. E.
Friendly service with a rich menu with Scottish traditional food for good price. The atmosphere is nice and the place has a nice and livy vibe to it. In the restautant area there are booths if you prefer a bit more privacy. Definetely worth eating here if you are looking for traditional Scottish.
J. S.
As expected from a nicholsons.
Just popped in for a drink, no food but will be back.
Bartender was very friendly, crisp cols drinks, rustic and welcoming interior.
All around welcoming vibe.
S.
The service is top notch, very friendly and great suggestions (special shoutout )! Highly recommend the Steak And Nicholson's meat pie
D. K.
Well priced and overall good meal. Atmosphere is cozy whether it’s be for alone or with friends or family. Not too loud, not too quiet.
A. S.
Lovely afternoon watching the rugby.
Bar was very busy, always a good sign.
We had a meal after the games and it was delicious.
Husband had steak and I had fish and chips. Both meals were very tasty, served hot and freshly cooked.

We visited The Mitre Bar in Edinburgh on 31st October and can say that the service was excellent. Lisa served us and she was so friendly and professional and really couldn’t do enough for us. The food was really, really good, we couldn’t fault any of it at all and came away very full. The wine and beer was good too. Four of us sat in a booth to the rear of the pub and it was very comfortable, and the place has a good atmosphere. We would definitely return and would recommend a visit to anyone - thanks Lisa, you made the experience really enjoyable! Excellent service really does go a long way, thank you 👍

Just a great little pub in historical Edinburgh, we were welcomed at the bar, the staff were so friendly and happy to accommodate us for food which we were unsure if we could because it looked busy. Food was all just spot on tbh, standard pub fayre but done very well. Originally we had planned to visit the Tron but they were closed for food that evening so thought we'd try the Mitre, very glad we did as it was all amazing. Thank you.
I. M.
Deacon bodies pub Edinburgh Mile, great staff lovely food, the only place to have tatties and neeps with haggis as a starter
S. C.
Great service, wonderful food and atmosphere, great drinks choice
N. W.
Christmas Dinner was probably one of the best meals I have ever had, the service was second to none. The staff were superb, could not do enough to help. Great atmosphere.
T. N.
Traditional scottish food, haggis was lovely, lots of drinks available at the bar plenty to choose from. Service was amazing from a lovely lady who was very helpful and nice. Food was quick and delicious. Good portions as well and good price would 100% recommend.
S. T.
Good pub good food good beer
Friendly Staff in a good area 👍🏴 🍺🥃👌
Highly Recommended ☑️ Merry Xmas To All The Staff and A Happy and Safe New Year 2022 To You All My Local / Mitre Bar High Street 👍🥂🍺 All The Best From Stuart 🏴🙏

Good service and great food. Atmosphere was great and the booths are a nice place to sit. Adam and Rosie were both on their game and we had a very pleasant lunch. Highly recommend.
A. w.
Such a lovely pub with excellent food. I got the fish and chips with scampi and it was delicious. Also the staff are very welcoming and would highly recommend
N. C.
Good beer and exceptional food and service, I had the crofters pie and it was lovely.
S. K.
Lovely point of Stewart's. Great selection of beers, but many from Cornwall, which is pretty odd.
F.
Fantastic service and great food. We came in for lunch after travelling since 4am and the waitress was fantastic! She was super engaging with our daughter and we had a really lovely lunch. We tried to visit again later in the week, but we couldn't get a table as they were so busy! When we come back to Edinburgh, we'll be revisiting and book in advance :)
M. P.
In the centre of the Royal Mile, this historic pub offers typical Scottish dishes, one of the best pub to watch the Six Nations on tv in a awesome atmosphere.
We were at the Mitre bar during two Six Nations match and outside the pub there was a tank truck from Guinnes, really cool and impressive advertising!
V. B.
Had only some gin but food looked good as well. Really cool pub and nice looking. Although full, real good place
S. W.
Amazing food, amazing bar, staff were very nice and friendly, and there was a good atmosphere
c. s.
I really liked the location and the food, also the staff was very friendly
F. B.
This is a great, centrally located, midsize pub. The fish & chips were spot on. The whiskey flights are a great feature covering the basics to the more advance. They were able to accommodate a group of 6 where other pubs could not.
M. H.
Tends to be rather busy and loud. It's more of a dining place than a pub. The bar area is rather small and the drinks are on the basic, limited side. Wouldn't recommend if you're looking for a cosy, chilled out pint. It's got more of the Wetherpoons vibe more than anything.
M. H.
Great feel in this pub. Staff were delightful and happy to help you make a selection of food and drink. Quite a few things on the menu unavailable which was a shame, but the food was delicious.
A. G.
Great selection of wines beers and spirits .
S. D.
Loved going here while visiting Edinburgh. Just happened to stop for dinner and it was one of the best meals out I've had in ages. Went back the next day and it was just as good. Staff were also very friendly and seemed to keep a nice relaxed atmosphere. Would recommend to anyone who likes hearty full meals
J. B.
Great spot we found, our waiter was great, table service was very nice, food was top notch as well.
h. s.
Good food with very friendly staff and is located at a great spot. There is a good selection of alcohol and its reasonably priced.
S. V.
Great pub lovely atmosphere great food .. was waited on by a lovely young girl very friendly asked how our food was great service wud recommend.
R. K.
I tryed nearly everything from menu, when have been visiting Edinburgh, food was delicious, staff friendly, a great view from outsides tables. I just love it inside and outside.
-. -. R.
Got told 30 mins wait for restuarant area wait ( 2 of us) so sat down for a drink and a bar snack to wait, 5 mins and a party of 4 who just walked in not reserved got in and seated after asking if they are still doing food...was sickened
S. K.
Very tasty meals, good ciders and friendly staff. It is a local "wetherspoon" restaurant located in the centre. I can really recommend this place. They have also other traditional dishes like huggis (kind of lamb sausage) or cullen skink (fish soup). You can see a hammon steak in this review :)
a. a.
We were looking for a place to have genuine scottish pies, available on Friday evening, after our whiskey tasting experience. Walking down the Edinburgh old Town Mile on Thursday evening we found a free table for next day only at The Mitre, lucky us. The booth was nice, offering good intimacy. The waiter prompt, friendly and knowledgable. Even if they didn't had all the pies în the offer, the 3 we took, were delicious! The Cranachan desert was also good.
T. A.
Friendly service and good pub food! Lots of classics to try. The haggis sausage was served with delicious mashed potatoes and crispy onion rings.
M. Z.
Ended up here during my first night in Edinburgh. Would have rated it three stars due to the endless waiting for the staff to clear the table after the previous occupants. But the service was otherwise good and there was a nice selection of alcoholic beverages. So a 4 minus is maybe fair then.
L. R.
Great place to drink and eat, staff are amazing
j. R.
We come here every year during the Edinburgh Festival for lunch and drinks, we always have a wonderful time. On this occasion, however, we were admitted into the bar, took a seat and placed and order for food and drinks via the app, paid £60 plus tip. We did not see the 'Please wait to be seated sign' when taking a table and the lady who brought our drinks admitted the sign was tucked away and difficult to see. The first lady who approached our table to confirm if we'd made a reservation was abrupt,
rude and very unwelcoming. Chastising us for taking a seat without adhering to the sign. It was a genuine mistake, admittedly as the sign was obscured. We witnessed her complaining to her colleague about us, she came back eventually to advise us "You can stay" then left. She came back with cutlery and placed it on the table without a word. Admittedly we were wrong to have taken a seat after being admitted into the bar there is no reason to treat a customer in such a rude manner. We apologised and were left waiting to see if we were to be refunded and asked to leave but the manner in which she conducted herself towards a customer was inexcusable and unreasonable, despite the honest mistake. The lady did return in a more calmer tone and frequently checked everything was okay. The food, however, was delicious and the drinks refreshing.
K. G.
Been here a few times whenever we visit Edinburgh. Disappointing this time, nobody seemed to know what their own rules were. We sat in the bar area, asked about food, young girl got us a menu, told us to order at the bar. Then we were told we couldn't eat in the bar area, we'd have to go to the rear of pub where there is a dining area (despite the fact there was another couple sitting in the bar eating) so we went through to dining area only to see that they were continuously taking meals through to people sitting in the bar! When we queried this the lad behind the bar just shrugged his shoulders and didn't have an answer! Definitely don't value their customers.
C. B.
The staff were great. I had the steak and peppercorn sauce which wasnt great but ok. My partner had the Nicholson steak and ale pie which was nice, but she wasn't keen on the mash. The Nicholson pale ale was nice and I had a local lager, can't remember the name and it was nice too. They let us bring the dog inside as long as we stayed in the bar area which is great.
M. L.
Nice Blackpool town centre pub. Real ale and 'baby guinness' shots sold here. Super professional staff.. And polite as well, while working in difficult times. Juke box offering cheap tunes.. Really, really nice...
B. L.
A 'Nicholson's' bar
Had such a good G & T (or two last night) we thought we'd come back for lunch after the tour of Edinburgh castle this morning, so glad we did, Peroni on tap & my favourite beer in the fridge (Beavertown Gamma Ray) lovely Club sandwich for me and a steak sandwich for the wife cooked to perfection, rare as ordered) & good normal prices too, absolutely recommended.
K. S.
Lovely food ..great attentive service
P. H.

M. G.
Great range of on tap beers. Fairly good whisky range
D. B.
Nice bar, interesting history. Good friendly staff.
P. T.
Lovely pub, so packed though, Saturday night so wouldn't expect anything else
H. H.
Nice pub grub but portion size did not justify price. Grand total of 10 chips served in a bowl and partner had only half a fish.. left feeling hungry
K. F.
Amazing place, warm staff and good drinks. Really not bat idea to visit ;)
S. M.
Perfect location on Royal Mile. Excellent customer service. Very good pub food. Generous children's portions. Booth type tables at the back of the pub feel safer in times of Covid.
T. B.
The Mitre the pub was very busy we went to another pub, looking at the insided it looks very good pub offering good range food and drinks, the windows clean looked like staff busy with orders. will visit the bar next time Edinburgh here is picture of it.
R. D.
Staff were really lovely and attentive with one of our party's nut allergy. Food wise, was a typical pub and nothing special
S. M.
Fine pub. Table service. Great selection of drinks
L. B.
Always nice, relaxed atmosphere. A great place to just enjoy a dram with a friend.
M. A. R.
They have a great whisky menu! Nice staff and service :) recommended!
A. D.
My mate booked it cos he read it was one of the 10 best bars in Edinburgh to watch football, but must have been a typo, surely one of the 10 worst. A few small TV's but no commentary/sound on. Other than that will be back, a good pub, just don't go for the Euros!
H. R.
Amazing food and fantastic restaurant staff, the 2 girls were so hard working and very attentive, I would highly recommend.
J. W.
Fairly standard chain boozer elevated to
4 stars by great barstaff while we were there on a busy Saturday. Bar food is bar food great for soaking up mucho beer but no epicurean treat.
K. A.
Decent ale, app didn't work but staff took the order anyway
R. H.
Well used. Good atmosphere. Not too crowdy. Standard Nicholson's beer range.
d.
Good pub that I've been to a few times. Drinks are always good the the service is great. Sadly the lock in the gents toilets doesn't actually lock the door, which leads to a great game of resting your foot against the door/standing in various hilarious positions while trying to sort yourself out.
S. H.
Popped in here for an early evening refreshment.
Staff were lovely and we felt safe as far as social distancing concerned. Staff all wore masks.
a. b.
Friendly staff, good food and atmosphere.
M. C.
Nice tasty traditional Scottish fare 🥃
S. W.
Love this place. Fantastic drink selection, so much to see and look at. Lovely staff.
M. C.
No value for money. Mediocre food and missing things out of the menu
L.
Friendly helpful staff. Great traditional atmosphere. Good quality food and efficient service. Not too expensive for Edinburgh. Covid rules adhered to.
K. C.
Very friendly atmosphere, excellent staff and excellent food
P. G.
Only stopped for a quick drink on the way home from sightseeing. Waitress friendly and attentive, toilets spotless!
C. D.
I'm struggling to find fault with this place. Everything was brilliant. The atmosphere was warm and friendly. The staff super friendly. The food was proper hearty and sublime. I had the Balmoral Chicken and my partner had the Chicken and Mushroom Pie. The Jack Back real ale went down a treat as well. Thoroughly recommend this place if ever you're in Edinburgh.
T. V.
Great atmosphere... sadly closed early due to staffing issues 😪
D. B.
Nice bar with a good selection of drinks.
J. M.
First meal in a pub environment since lockdown. Booked our table online. Felt very safe and the staff are 100% complying with rules set out due to cov19. Staff were friendly. Food was very tasty. Big thank you to Kirsty who served our table.
S. R.
Great pub, great atmosphere.Onnthe Royal Mile so easy to get to.If it's good enough for Mary Queen of Scots and John Knox to drink in then you should definitely give it a go.
J. Y. (. Y.
Great service and Atmosphere, great bar snacks and drinks Just what we needed
A. C.
Didn't get the name of the manager who was on but he was great. Very friendly and couldn't help enough. We'll be sure to frequent The Mitre Bar when in Edinburgh as a consequence of his good work.
K. D.
A local traditional pub for all tastes
A. O.
We both had steaks at Mitre on Saturday night and were excellent, cooked to perfection , Enjoyed myfirst pint of Nicolsons Pale ale since lockdown, quickly followed by another. Felt very covid secure in our comfortable spotlessly clean booth , visit Mitre every time Iin the area, great wee pub.
B. R.
Nice friendly bar on the Royal Mile, we went in every day of our visit and really enjoyed ourselves.
We were very impressed with the seriousness that they took in ensuring that the current virus has a difficult time getting in. Very thorough cleaning and better than anywhere I have been to in England.
S. T.
Excellent range of drinks.
Excellent food.
Service is attentive but very pleasant.
I visited Saturday evening & Sunday lunch (15+16/12/18) for food & drinks - both times there was no soap in the washroom, the hand dryer was broken & there weren't any towels.
Very poor management from a food bar.
G. H.
Food was lovely but the portions weren't very big.
Staff were really polite and helpful.
Thankyou
J. M.
First time visit to The Mitre. It was getting busy enough due to build up to the rugby so was a good atmosphere. The food was really good, with special mention to the crofters pie and also the kedgeree fish cakes which were so good IMO.The two lassies that served us throughout our lunch were great and on the ball. No complaints at all.
J. S.
Great pub staff are very helpful and fun, food is fantastic and value for money guarantee, can't wait to get back to this wee gem, recommended, best pub ON the royal mile in Edinburgh, good luck and best wishes to all the staff at this brilliant pub, XXX.J
S. F.
The mitre bar is one of the best bars in Edinburgh. The food is excellent.the staff are very friendly .on our trip we kept going back there .Highly recommended
E. M.
Very limited menu, portions on the small side.
I. B.
Very good had a good night staff friendly will go back.
I. L.
Ok bar, sunny outside until 6 pm.
L. B.
Great draft beers and cider, had a plate of neeps and tatties too! Braw!
S. S.
Popped in with my partner for a pint was a very nice warm atmosphere, shiny and twinkly. Decor is very nice for a pub. Bustling, lively but the staff were also really friendly and all looked happy to be working there. Good selection of drink and well priced xx
P. K.
VIsited this Pub recently. Lovely meal served by a very well mannered and informed waitress. First class place to visit.
F. a. F.
This is one of my top places to drink in Edinburgh. What’s most appreciated is that they have a great knowledge of whiskeys and gin’s and are happy to help you find the best drink for you. If you are fortunate enough to be there during gin fest you will find even more options. Grab a bite or just a pint (and maybe meet the ghost that apparently haunts the place)
*i also like to add as a gay traveller I had no issues on my many visits so I consider it LGBT friendly
M. R.
Good traditional Scottish pub on the Royal mile. Great Scottish food.
M. S.
Great atmosphere. Loved it
F. S.
Really nice traditional pub in the busy Royal Mile. First time there last night. Was impressed by the interior, drinks selection and food. We had pies from the pie menu, a big portion of hot tasty food arrived at the table... Would recommend!
K. D.
Can't fault the food , ale or the service from the staff.
We would definitely recommend
G. D.
Lovely place nice to see good selection of beers on the bar as you walk in. Friendly staff as well...
I. M.
The mitre bar , nice and friendly staff ,when you go here go to the very back off the bar and wait to be seated. But need more staff as one person doing to much IMHO.
Food was nice ,if you are looking for something nice too eat on the royal mile.
Burgers have herbs or something green inside ,I asked what it was but never get a good answer.
Was told some kind of herb but no one knew exactly what it was thanks for reading my review ,appreciated.
Getting refurbished but still open.
W. L.
Good atmosphere, the staff were very helpful. A tourist friendly lace to go for diner or a drink. I liked their collection of world currency around the bar. If I lived closer I would make it my local!
s. b.
Sorry for a late review. If anyone thinking of booking christmas day please do. We booked for last year 2018, as our son lives in Edinburgh. We thoroughly enjoyed the whole experience, lovely and helpful staff. & first year in a long time I didn't have to cook. Just sorry we can't book this year as hubby not too well. We booked the 5 course menu.
R. F.
It a must if passing call in have grate food and beer's good nice friendy staff
T. H.
We ended up coming here twice on our trip to Edinburgh and really enjoyed both visits. Visited on Saturday night and had a great time drinking + listening to the live music and came back to eat on the Monday.
Drink service was fast even though it was pretty busy. The sloe gin + lemon tonic was really nice.
Food was basic pub grub but was delicious, we had the gammon and the fish and chips which were both great. Staff were all friendly.
Next time we visit Edinburgh we'll definitely come back here!
j. s.
Visited the Mitre twice at the weekend. Very lucky, weatherwise as we were able to sit outside in the sunshine. The beers were good. Although we didn't eat there, the food looked good, pub grub but a good deal more.
Good vibes. I could quite happily go back there.
M. D.
Great pub, nice staff
J. B.
My boyfriend and I stopped here on our way down the Royal Mile, we checked with the barmaid if we could eat at the bar or at the sitting area we decided to sit at the sitting area we were shown a table quickly advised what they didn't have on the menu and left to look at the menu we were advised that there was a little wait of about 20 minutes but that didn't bother us.
I ordered the chicken club sandwich was very filling and came with chips, I ordered sticky toffee pudding for dessert which was very nice aswell.
The only downside i would say is that there should be more staff on at a lunchtime as it seemed to be that there was only two staff to cover and sometimes you had a little wait.
All in all good food and a pub atmosphere.
L. R.
Delicious food and beer, service could have been quicker though!
J. W.
Great food in a wonderful environment. Excellent and attentive service. Highly recommended.
T. E.
Manager was great. Good beer. Food was good, I had Haggis. Good service. Enjoyable experience.
R. H.
A lovely traditional style pub, I popped in for lunch and also grabbed a beer. I went with the regular fish and chips and it was quite tasty. I was surprised at how quiet it was but u guess middle of November is not really going to be crazy busy anywhere.
A.
Food was amazing and staff very helpful and friendly even in a busy time when they were in a rush. Big selection of typical Scottish cuisine (pies, Cranachan, Haggis one of the best I had).
Good selection of drinks as well. Worth to visit👌
R. C. L.
The game pie is a must in this place and the staff is very kind. Very good place to lunch or dinner.
K. M.
Lovely place and great food.
r. a.
Rarely give 5 stars. This place would have 6 if I could give them. Superb lunch experience.
The sharing platter, haggis neaps and tatties will make you feel Scottish to the core.
Washed down with a marvelous selection of craft ales. Who could ask for more.
J. B.
The Mitre Bar was excellent ! The waitresses were super nice and we ate really well-cooked and traditional haggis, chicken balmoral, fish and ship and beef. I recommand !
R. L.
Was really great. Good service and company . Will go again. Good time had.
N. S.
Good selection of beers and quite cosy too, but not good if you have child with you. We sat at one of the booths and were having drinks and snacks in the company of a 5 year old at about 4/5pm and were told by staff we could only stay if we were having meal, despite ordering little snacks like chips and etc. The lady was nice enough o her approach but you wouldn't expect that sort of issue in this day and age in the afternoon.
J. T.
Fabulous. Classic Scottish pub fare served in a classic setting on the royal mile. We were seated in a beautiful old world glass-and-wooden booth, and had traditional pies-venison and port, steak, and chicken. All were exceptional, as was the service. Sticky toffee pudding sealed the deal. A sticky thumbs up!
s.
I like the decor, staff busy no chit chats just order eat and go. The old school booths but very traditional beautiful. Unique food on menu but nothing amazing i can recall. Toilets also style well and clean
D. W.
Good old pub with decent line of real ales but sluggish service !
A. S.
Great pub. Saturday they had a very good singer entertaining us
k. “. g.
One of our traditional stop offs on our trips to Edinburgh.
D. B.
Great old world pub with a good selection of food and drink all served by friendly efficient staff. We spent a day in there watching Wales v Scotland and enjoyed it all so much we returned the following day for more food and beer.
J. S.
First visit to the Mitre since 1978 when I was a student. Pleased to say it is still a very nice Edinburgh pub
G. P.
Very nice pub for food and beer. The Cullen Skink was pretty good, tasty enough but not the best I've tasted. The chicken and chorizo pie was brilliant with mashed potatoes and veg. Finished off with salted caramel profiteroles, yum yum. Service was first class. 😆
A. D.
Good food and service. We caused a little confusion using the app trying to get a £1 drink that we never got in the end. Food was tasty and timely.
C. B.
I came in here to try a traditional meal of Haggis, Neaps, and Tatties and was not disappointed. The service was very friendly and prompt and the prices were fair considering the excellent food quality. I would highly recommend if you’re looking for somewhere to eat while exploring the royal mile!
n.
Food was fantastic, would come back for the burgers, pies or haggis anytime! Atmosphere was great too, unfortunately the place is let down by the service. Not particularly friendly, brought out my partners meal 15 minutes before mine, gave us dirty cutlery, didn’t even seem to know how to draft a pint properly. Giving 4 stars because with better service this would be an awesome pub.
B. P.
This is one of the most exciting pubs in Edinburgh City, Scotland, Located along the famous Royal mile. It serves some fantastic traditional British or perhaps Scottish pub Dishes as Scots might like to hear it. They have live music every evening every day of the week and they brings in some amazing bands and artists to perform. Good selections of drinks and the atmosphere is just so relaxing and refreshing in its own rights. I can't forget to mention the warmth of the stuff too.
R. F.
The pub inside is very nice and they serve good food and the staff are very friendly.
J. F.
Great food staff were very efficient and helpful went 3 times definitely pay them a visit
S. E. L.
Lovely pub, the staff very friendly would recomend it to any visters. Great service
J. C.
Wonderful food, pleasant staff and quirky place
J. S.
Had a nice hour there got talking to the young lass serving there and it was nice to hear her talk about Mcphersons rant etc Nice that the young ones have a interest in our history
P. F. M.
Enjoyed this bar, very good with all social distancing, although the staff seemed a bit stressed.
m. c. j. c.
Really tasty food and the staff there is very nice
G. G.
Excellent nice bar easy access within covid restrictions, staff very helpful
S. H.
Staff here were so lovely! Visiting for the weekend and squuezed some pints in. Food was alright too, it was really the staff though, shout out to Donald for the kind service and warm welcome to Edinburgh
A. R.
My friend and I have stopped in here for a drink a few times. While the drinks are a little expensive for the area, we keep coming back for the excellent and varied live music. Their patrons are a good mix of locals and tourists, middleaged and young.
H.
Stopped into this bar which looked nice from the outside while visiting Royal Avenue. Decor inside was beautiful and cosy but dirty dishes from the people who had the table before us sat on our table the full hour we were there, toilets hadn't been refreshed and at £5 a pint I wasn't expecting to sit at a sticky table
M. B.
Very disappointing starter but lovely main course - lamb pie and lentil pie 😍
T. P.
We were wet and cold and they had a really nice table next to a large radiator :) Also they had a good selection of non-alcoholic beer.
K. J.
Lovely staff and setting
C. R.
We had a fantastic snacks here (starters). Great gin and tonics
M. N.
Great pub, friendly staff.
S. V. P.
Such a lovely meal , different menu options . Cask Pale ale is amazing.

Stopped in for lunch on a Monday. To eat you need to walk back to the center of the establishment to be seated. There is a bar and pub tables up front. Traveling we eat one meal a day (besides coffee), so we ordered the lamb chops, Nickelson burger and skink. The skink (soup) with fish and potatoes was good. The bread served with only ok. The burger was huge, a little dry, just ok. The lamb chops were good at least 2 out of 3. The service was fine. It's a restaurant on a tourist street it was ok.
C. W.
Had great haggis and tatties the neeps were very peppery and my guests has cullen soup that was not very creamy. Service was a little slow for not being that busy. Few changes and it would get a 5*!
G. M.
Being around halfway up (or down) the Royal Mile this is good place to stop for refreshments. Although it's always busy it never tales long to get a table. Good pub food and good selection of beers.
J. A.
Nothing wrong, just a descent bar, bit low on atmosphere.
m. w.

I. B.
Only went in to have a drink very good all round service will be back again 👍
K. M.
There's no doubt it's location lends itself to being a tourist trap, but to be honest, as a local I have to rate it highly as it has never let me down and the staff are always professional both at the bar and in the kitchen. Because of it's location you won't find loads of locals, but I have to give respect where it's due.
J. W.
Great bar fab staff thanks for the welcome
D. H.
Lovely pub and very welcoming staff, we didn't eat but the food that passed me looked amazing!
J. S. D.
Good selection of beers. Food was great but the portion was a bit small. The interior was nice. The prices are a little higher as it's directly on the tourist street.
C. W.
