Reviews of The Voodoo Rooms
F. D.
The Venue is absolutely astonishing and beautiful. The location is unique and magical but the staff working here doesn't seem to be at the same level.
Waiting staff is polite but not very professional. unwashed food delivery sat on the counter where people are supposed to drink, the chopping board laid with chopped food the same as above.
one of the bartenders was rolling a cigarette on a table after finishing his shift.
The food was ok. I had a burger that looked handmade very thick and legit at first sight, but very tasteless. the brioche bun was very soft but not toasted at all.
very poor choices of sauces. when you serve a burger with only lattice tomato e cheese you should offer more than just 3 very regular sauces (mayo, ketchup, brown).

This place is a gem! I greatly appreciate a vegan option, an actual tasty one at that! The mushroom stroganoff was perfect! It was so flavorful! My non vegan friend even picked into my plate.
Great drinks!
The staff were friendly and attentive!
The decor of this place was amazing; looked like something out of a movie.
I’ll definitely slide by on my next trip!
L. P.
I have some great memories of being in the bar upstairs and in all the function rooms from ceilidhs to discos, festival events to friends parties. They do them all. Highly recommended. Also in the bar upstairs the food is tasty and the cocktails are very nice.
The place we had for my friends party is like the 80s disco room so the dance floor is straight out of Saturday Night Fever. Is it the only one in Edinburgh?! I don't know for sure.
Feel the toilets in this room could be done with a revamp and maybe some plumbing as sometimes they smell. That's my only gripe. Very central location too so easy for transport.
K. L.
A dazzling premise with splendid ornate ceiling. Food was great despite limited choices on menu. The cocktails we had were not as impressive, the tea for tiger was too sweet for us. We would go for something stronger next time.
E. K.
Gorgeous place, very imposing. Love the decor but I also enjoyed the food and cocktails. The watermelon salad was amazing and I have no words to describe how tasty the haggis tacos were, regular and vegan! If I lived in Edinburg this would be a regular spot for me.
D. S. (. B.
Great music venue and restaurant. Menu lacks choice but dishes available are excellent. Staff friendly and attentive.
R. K.
Such a fun experience! Came for cocktails and dinner with a girlfriend, and the atmosphere was so fun and quirky and excitable. Can get really busy in the evenings so plan ahead! Would love to come back soon.
B. G.
Visited on 5th July to see Courtney Marie Andrews in concert. Bar area is very nice and performance area was relatively small and intimate and all the better for that.
A. d. S.
Visited on 24 of august. Saw some great fringe shows. Want to give a special shout-out to the bartenders working that night, especially the one with the tree tattoos on his arm. He went above and beyond to make my experience top notch. Beautiful venue. Great time.
M. R.
Such an Amazing place, staff very helpful and friendly. Funky, fun and chill. Good choice of vegan food on the menu, might go back and give the big bad meaty haggis a go! Depending on how brave I’m feeling. Up market but at the same time not snobby.
T. C.
The bar is glamorous and the rooms are good for live music. Really enjoyed Bad Monkey (I think that was the name of the band performing) last week.
R. R.
Dark and quirky bar/restaurant in central Edinburgh. Service was honest as well as price. Great cocktails!!
A. J.
Enjoyed the food and the decor, staff were lovely but took a while to get someone's attention to order desert and to get the bill, though this may just have been a busy night. I recommend checking this place out!
L. D.
Sumptuous surroundings and really attentive and friendly staff. Such a must- visit place! Will definitely drop by again, if and when we return to Edinburgh. The cocktail menu is lush.
D. G.
A gem with it's own quirky features. You feel you are in opulent splendour with a casual style. The staff are genuinely lovely. The food was yummy compliments to the chef 10 out of 10 😊
I. m.
Always a pleasure to visit here. Gig, drinks. Minutes from both the Train & Tram stations.
T. B.
The food took over an hour to arrive - there was no apology or explanation - this was almost as long as trying to get waiters attention to order some drinks for the table.
The burger, going at a rather extortionate price, was presented with chips which looked like it came from a school canteen, not only that it was dry! The waiter also argued with us about one of the drinks this issue was so unnecessary.
Having previous hospitality experience its clear that voodoo rooms has gone extremely down hill, so do not get fooled by the beautiful design of the place.
My friend, had paid by cash while the other in card - and only the day after we have realised the waitress has overcharged us by £20. After calling voodoo rooms for this issue we were told they would call back yet no response or effort to resolve the issue(what does that say about this place).
Shameful how this place used to be so lovely.
P. T.
The place is a little gem in another wise fairly gentile area.
It has an atmosphere which I have a feeling changes from during the day and the evening. My experience was during the day. The service was prompt and the staff friendly and knowledgeable about the drinks.
The collection of whiskeys was good and had one I have never heard of.
A dear friend introduced this place to me and I would highly recommend it to all visitors to Edinburgh.
T. A.
Quite tricky to locate but worth the perseverance. It’s upstsirs above another pub. The bar is quite small but looks really impressive with its huge high ceilings and beautiful windows. We visited on a Saturday afternoon and it was pretty quiet with a really laid back feel. Perfect for drinks with friends or as a couple. Felt too grown up and peaceful for children or family’s. The service was excellent but we did notice people starting to wait as it got busier. It didn’t bother us, cocktails take time to make! Good bar snacks, good cocktails and gorgeous decor.
A. A.
Dark and quirky bar/restaurant in central Edinburgh. Service was good as well as price. Food was pretty average though, was expecting a little better from reading the reviews. The menu is unique but didn’t think the flavours really mixed together that well - cold duck and beetroot sorbet for example. Three courses and a nice bottle of red for ~£80 is pretty good though.
D. M.
Nicely themed cool-elegant restaurant. Music and lights are cozy. Prices are good. The food is really nice and tasty and the portions are good too. It is a bit tricky to find it, but it worth the effort. The service is good and efficient.
B. B.
Fantastic bar! I was in one of the event rooms for a friend's birthday. It is a great space with plenty of booths and a large floor space to boogie down on, there is a good sound system too.
The cocktails are amazing, the bar staff are very talented and friendly, especially Rory, who we were fortunate enough to have working the bar in our room.
Can't recommend it enough, especially after Sorting out my friend with a last minute room for her birthday.
M. S.
I Really liked this place. The decoration is great. The staff was very friendly and the drinks are great.
J. F.
Great place to visit for dinner. I had a watermelon cocktail that was both beautiful and tasted amazing. Started with the zucchini fritters. They are the best I've ever had and would highly recommend these. You get three fritters of medium size. For dinner I had a thick burger that was cooked well with a side of fries. I will say my girlfriend's burger was a bit over cooked. I had trouble cutting in. The inside is ornate and cozy. Wasn't a loud and environment and had a nice waitress. Would recommend to others visiting.
J. K.
The food and drinks were wonderful with a wide selection of drinks, and the staff were wonderful! Absolutely would go back again
D. H.
The staff were lovely and helpful. They made a cocktail for me that wasn't on the menu.
The atmosphere was a little dull but that could have been because it was 5pm on a Friday.
Very quirky bar.
J. B.
Good shows. Food ok. Very slow and rude staff, have such a stupid cocktail menu then mock us in front of us for asking for a strawberry sling instead of the stupid drinks on their own menu after telling us to order any other thing we wanted
E. M.
We did the cocktail masterclass for my mums birthday and had a fantastic time! The cocktails and the staff were great, could not recommend enough!
M. L.
Beautiful venue, great events, original drinks: what's not to love? The staff are also very friendly and helpful and Karagh in particular brings the energy to another level!
B. M.
Great place for a quick drink or a meal. New cocktail menu really good. Check out the Artemis and the Not so Innocent
L. T.
Very good and original cocktails. I loved the a bit dark ambiance and the post-colonial style furniture. Sweet waitress and staff. It’s worth the price.
P. B.
Dear oh dear, was expecting a lot more from Voodoo Rooms, pricey menu too, not like it’s a cheap eat!
Servings are tiny, my salmon starter was 3 tiny strips. Seriously lacking flavour.
Food was slow, took over an hour for a starters and mains and we eat quick.
Only saving grace was the fact we were here on a Meerkat Meals deal so food was roughly half price.
Not recommended unfortunately.
L. R.
One of the best in Edinburgh. Knowledgeable staff in a fantastic venue. Great music and drinks!
B. M.
Really impressive room. Very nice decor. Great choice of cocktails that are far removed from the run of the meal tacky ones that you get in cheap bars. That said not the cheapest, but they use the better ingredients. Worth a visit if on a night out, either in a group or with friends.
S. L.
Great place, multi use venue, restaurant, bar and theatre/club. Good was really good, bar has a wide selection of drinks. Restaurant area is really small but perfectly functional still able to relax. Plenty of gins on the menu and other spirits. Laid back but still attentive service, no rushing so you can relax, have a lovely meal and a great evening with friends. The outlook at the restaurant is a small park and the décor is exactly what you expect from somewhere called the Voodoo rooms.
G. N.
Very nice place with delicious food and drinks. There are very spexial cocktails and some beers. Charmfull and awesome inside areas with live music and quick service.
I. B.
A gem in a great city centre location handy for all transport links, a classy establishment on the three occasions I've visited it's been for gigs and it's a great venue but many visit just for the bar and eating facilities, they have a fantastic range of spirits particularly Gin, but also an exceptionally well stocked bar in general, the prices are high but probably synonymous with its city centre location, heartily recommend a visit
A. N.
Beautiful place and gigs and other things really good like friendly staff amazing people x
G. G.
Went with a group of 10 friends for drinks on a Saturday afternoon. Drinks quite expensive, but service pretty good. Quite noisy, though: we couldn't have a proper conversation.
S. K.
Absolutely stunning venue, we don't get here often for drinks but when we do make it out to the voodoo rooms it's never a let down. Great atmosphere, skilled bar staff and the drinks are great!
S. D.
Very busy when we visited but the atmosphere was great. Had ourselves a whisky!
L. B.
Food and cocktails were OK. Service was slow and staff need to write things down as they were forgetting and getting things wrong.
R. S.
Superb dinner in this quirkyittle establishment hidden up behind the Apple Store. Delicious food, well presented and friendly staff. Recommended for a cosy hide away meal!
D. W.
Really nice place friendly staff and great food, reasonably priced too! Bit dark but great atmosphere! Will go again!
J. D.
Beautiful setting / decor. Knowledgeable bar staff who will serve you great cocktails. Great selection of drinks.
The food is ok, but view this as a nice lounge/bar that can provide you with something to eat, rather than a restaurant that offers great cocktails.
K. P.
Excellent atmosphere and service. A beautiful place to enjoy a meal or drinks. The cocktails are amazing and the food is to die for. The menu is well thought out. Having visited three times now every dish has been well put together. Everything on the plate compliments or adds to the meal. What you are served isn't just for show it tastes amazing. Would recommend the Voodoo Rooms every time.
S. W.
It’s a good venue for bands, just a shame some of the people who came to see the band I’m in were unruly and as a consequence my band is now band from playing this venue. The antics of the few have ruined it for the majority.
H. R.
Great experience. First time back. Very Covid friendly. Good atmosphere, still maintains its class.
V.
Great place to enjoy big variety of drinks and cocktails. Food is very delicious as well . Fancy / superior interior. Great staff.
V. V. G.
Great place for food and drinks. Interesting venue as well. Great times
J. C.
We had a nice visit here for food and cocktails. Good/original, if quite small selection of cocktails. (They did say if there was something we wanted to just ask, but personally I'd like to see a more complete menu of what they offer, especially as it's advertised as a cocktail bar). We both had burger and fries which was very good. Not sure the coleslaw was that fresh though tbf, but ace fries & burger.
With it being a live music venue there was quite a mix of clientele inside. So we had a group of people who were pretty drunk on the table next to us - with one guy staring into the distance the whole time and everyone in his party ignoring him. They weren't causing an issue for us but it wasn't a cocktail bar vibe in that respect. If we come back to Edinburgh (I'm sure we will) I'll check out who is playing at this venue as it looks really good for live music.
Suggest ringing to book as the webform is a bit hit and miss.
F. R.
Good atmosphere , staff are very friendly would definitely recommend, if your looking for somewhere for a good night out.
J. B.
Sound, bartenders & people all made it a wonderful experience. Creative & diverse choices of cocktail, loads of traditional drinks as well. Cosy and chill yeah upbeat athmosphere and choice of music
R. B.
Insider tipp! Great location with very good and special drinks a bit outside of touristic places! Friendly staff and reasonable prices! Absolutly to recommend for one or two drinks! The bar has a lot of choices that everyone will find his drink. The location can also booked for private events.
M. H.
A very nice place, serving great cocktails in a rich speakeasy bar. Menu with unique cocktails and snacks, waiters quick and friendly. Cocktails are worth the price. I definitely recommend.
C. H.
Really competent staff that made some outstanding cocktails when I was last in.
P. L.
Nice location and good drinks.
K. P.
Beautiful bar and live music room.
Also has a restaurant room adjoining.
Live music almost every night on a nice big, well lit stage with great sound.
S. L.
Bizarre but fantastic place. Very regal but with a modern twist. Saw a gig in the ballroom and it was great.
R. S.
Love this place - excellent changing cocktails, friendly staff, awesome décor
O. B.
Friendly, knowledgeable bartenders who are happy to give you advice if you're struggling to make a decision .. Highly recommend!
R. S.
Came here for some late afternoon drinks before catching a bus to Edinburgh airport. A great venue tucked away in a side street near the station. Does food and drinks, but I only had a couple of cocktails which were good and reasonably priced.
M. T.
Fun place with a nice vibe. I enjoyed my food the drink I had was just ok. The service was good, the place is unique and fun.
L. W.
The drinks were strong but on the smaller side for the price. I loved the venue though it is beautiful although alot smaller than I anticipated.
A. W.
Lewis (forgive me if this spelling is wrong) was the all around BEST server I've had in the entire UK. I am not exaggerating. He was friendly, attentive, and had great drink recommendations. I will be coming back here 100% because of him. Yes the decor is cool and the drinks are very tasty, but Lewis was the absolute highlight of the bar. Service in the UK is an entity unto itself, so having Lewis be our server was an absolute treat and I can't wait to come back to see him again!
E. T.
Lovely bar and restaurant with an extensive amount of awesome spirits and a healthy knowledge of cocktails. The food is superb. The Vegan mushroom stroganoff was exceptional! For the record, I am an omnivore, but know that the calibre of a kitchen is measured by how good their vegan dishes are. Beautiful venue
F.
Good vibes and setting the cocktails are cheap although very watery.
R. H.
Excellent venu, drinks and service. Also went over and above to help me with accessibility at a gig, which was fantastic
D. D. N.
I go often, also my fiancee likes it as it resembles new Orleans bars:)
J. C.
Excellent bar /restaurant /venue, decor and atmosphere worth the visit. Cocktails made look easy by outstanding bar staff, a hidden gem worth a visit when you're in Edinburgh, best kept secret in the city.
D. N.
Great cocktails and service in lavishly appointed rooms. Snacks and food are also available. A private dining room is available for bookings. Highly recommended for a quiet drink.
W. W.
Such a great bar, gorgeous decor, brilliant atmosphere, the tunes and the staff were amazing. Love this place. 😊
N. H. H.
Friendly service and really happy with my cocktails. Will definitely come back!
E. G.
Very nice place, good cocktails and good service too
I. M.
First time visiting the venue, checking out Dubinski. Nice wee venue, looks classy. Good sound, reasonable prices and the band were good!
K. B.
Great venue with a fantastic pub. We didn't get to try the food because the reservations were all booked but we will be back. Custom cocktails were fantastic!
B. R.
Quite nice drinks, need to order at the bar.
R. G.
Went for dinner with a friend, got a burger which was good and the cocktail even better :) nice spot for having dinner with friends as well as something more private as the ambiance is nice.
K. K.
We popped in here for a few drink late Saturday night a few weeks ago. The atmosphere was great and Rory behind the bar was so lovely and chatty. Will be back again soon.
A. K.
Fantastic venue, staff couldn't have been nicer. All my guests had a fantastic night! Thank you!
W. M.
Saw an excellent gig in tiny event room. Staff and decor a delight. Highly recommended, have put it on my list to return for food 👍
M.
Great bar staff!!
Great atmosphere!!
Great choice of drinks
Reasonable pricing considering its Edinburgh
m. f.
It was a beautiful venue, the service was amazing the young lady who was Melissa,
Well she did an excellent job.
She gave first class customer service.
Well done. Many thanks.
S. M.
Cocktail masterclass with callum was fantastic he was very enthusiastic and knowledgable. Food was lovely however service slower than i would have expected. Beautiful place great atmosphere would definetly visit again.
T. B. P.
The food and drinks were fantastic and at a good price.
A. S.
Lovely venue. Very slow bar service, mainly because not enough people working there and making cocktails. However the staff and friendly.
M. C.
My favourite bar in Edinburgh. Great selection of tequila, tasty cocktails and a nice selection of beer. Great food and a really nice venue for gigs too. Generally maintains a great high standard for many years now. My only criticism being that service can be slow when it's busy but that's to be expected.
A. H.
Make a booking! Very popular. We were lucky to get in, had delicious salads and burgers. Amazing bar selection and the bartenders went above and beyond to make some fabulous mocktails. Cool ambiance and great staff. Following all social distance and safety guidelines, very safe and clean.
J. A.
An amazing place, the bar restaurant area is glorious the place was busy but staff very helpful and friendly. There was also a function room in building and a live band for a nominal fee. There was another bar area downstairs though we never went there. Well worth a visit and next door to two other bar restaurants equally ornate.
S. K.
Booked the Speakeasy room for my 50th bash. Had two bands playing. Nice room with what looks like a new (and effective) air conditioning system, a well stocked bar, and excellent PA / sound system with an equally good resident sound engineer. Would happily recommend.
J. K.
Just had cocktails but great decor lovely place good drinks. Just walked in and managed to get seated quickly.
J. B.
Great cocktails served by bar staff who actually know their stuff and deviate from the standard cocktail menus! Great music, great atmosphere and not at all stuffy like some cocktail bars can be. Went in for Fri afternoon drinks only to return the following evening and glad we did! Definitely worth a visit!
J. R.
Superb gig tonight, central location, tasty beer, good whisky and cocktails available, what's not to like?
J. C.
Great beautiful venue, lovely staff, amazing choice of beers and the best cocktails in toon... Book a table or go early cause this place is hot, even during the week
K. N.
Thats the best bar in Ediburgh. Honestly. All the staff are really friendly, environtment is super cozy and food is great as well. What else do you need? Cocktails? Yes, if you are not sure with the menu, bartenders are going to mix some delicious stuff! 💚🤙
F. C.
Wonderful night to see Bilbo after 40 years. Hall was packed. Sound quality excellent and easy to get a drink.
S. N.
Great atmosphere, food and service were brilliant.
A. D. P.
Place with a very good atmosphere, elegant decoration, excellent service. The kitchen had closed when we arrived and we ordered some very delicious and well presented appetizers.
K. C.
Fantastic place for a catch up with friends and few drinks. Staff is so so lovely and atmosphere is nice and relaxed , recommended 👌😊
V.
Fab meal, drinks & staff very tentative
A. S.
Fantastic bar and the staff are so warm and welcoming. This was our second visit to Edinburgh from Wales and we look forward to coming back.
G. S.
Food was tasty, fresh and came to table quickly, just as i asked. Staff were funny, respectful and made my night. Cocktails after were definitely the best in Edinburgh by far. This place covers all the basis from a romantic dinner for two or a night on the town. Fast becoming my go to place. Love it!
B. C.
Great classy bar located 2 minute walk from Waverly. Highly recommend if you're looking for a more middle of ground up-market evening.
D. H.
Very quirky place with excellent food and great selection of cocktails. A bit of a wait but worth it because the Spiced crusted lamb with Indian potatoes was really good. Not inexpensive but worth a visit for a great meal and wine. Staff really friendly and great service.
A. W.
Absolutely fantastic cocktails! Greeted straight away, took a few minutes for water which was tasty with cucumber and mint, ordered cocktails straight away, then waited about 10 minutes for the cocktails to arrive. Worth the wait! Looked fabulous, tasted even better! I thought the service was a little slow, but we're on holiday so didn't mind. The guys were friendly and professional. Highly recommend.
C. D.
Drinks have come down to a reasonable price from a couple of years ago so it's now worth going to see a band there without a second mortgage
J. R.
Fantastic venue for a gig or a party at a great price. We'd many guests from outside Edinburgh who found it easy to get there via train or bus due to its central location. Great atmosphere with very helpful and supportive professional staff. Happy to strongly recommend it to others.
G. T.
Nice setting, excellent customer service and decent cocktails.
Food was good but everything was dripping in oil unfortunately. Don't get me wrong, I enjoy a dash of extra virgin olive oil but not every dish needs to be floating in oil...
Might have been a fluke though since flavours were fine.
G. H.
Brilliant venue for music. Staff in main bar a little slow at times and don't really seem to bother about the order they serve customers meaning longer waits to be served than in better run bars. Also I was surprised to be informed that they did not stock alcohol free beers so, as designated driver I had to reluctantly resort to oversweet soft drinks. But overall a good venue.
J. C.
Lively place, great bar in the early evening, opulent surroundings and great location. Good selection behind the bar, friendly staff, some great events always a good choice.
The food is good for this sort of place, its the only thing you can think of during early evening gigs in the room with the stage as the kitchen is just nearby. This is a great room for dancing about it after a couple of shandies.
Last time I was here it was hosting the Vegas New Year bash which is great fun with many people dressing up in 50s style outfits and burlesque shows on stage. The Voodoo rooms have sensible door staff, friendly and very hard working bar staff, good food and know how to throw a party.
O. e.
Very impressive decor. Nice staff. A bit expensive
B. G.
An eclectic bar and restaurant with Great food, amazing cocktails and all reasonably priced.
G. M.
I went there for a birthday party on one of the rooms halfway through the 1st set of stairs to the right. We had almost our own toilets (as they are shared with another bookable room), a bar for us and our own music. At the bar they accepted both cash and credit/debit cards, there was a great selection of everything and the bartender, Sarah if I recall correctly, was a superstar so bigger bonus for her please.
S. A.
Loved this place! Great atmosphere and very friendly service who gave great cocktail recommendations!! Will definitley be going back and excited to go once restrictions ease!
c. k.
We had a wonderful meal & drinks in here on Saturday 1/8/2020. Food was amazing, thanks again to the Chef who single handedly cooked flawlessly for all, brilliant job done by all staff & all virus precautions in place were excellent. We will definitely return & Highly recommend.
R. M.
Interesting restaurant/ bar in Edinburgh. Small food selection, nice cocktail selection.
D. M.
Fantastic bar tucked in behind the East End of Princes Street. Food is very good and reasonably priced. Fantastic cocktail list that is very extensive. Drinks tastings are available as well, we did the Rum tasting and it was brilliant, I can thoroughly recommend it.
Does not look that enticing from the outside but I think that adds to its atmosphere inside. Regularly has events and music on so well worth looking at the events page online to see whats on offer. Cannot recommend this bar enough.
R. T.
Attentive service. Funky and eclectic old world atmosphere. If those walls could talk...
L. J.
Beautiful restaurant with fantastic food very well priced, great wines for only £21 a bottle AND you can use tastecard to get Buy One Get One Free on food. It was amazing.
S. M.
A stunning venue with beautiful windows and plush decor, well worth a visit for the decor alone.
There is an extensive cocktail list with some really interesting combinations.
This bar gets very busy on weekday evenings and the music gets really too loud, so I prefer to visit at quieter times during the day.
K. B.
The decor is amazing! Such a beautiful place! I e been here a few times. Most recently just for drinks. They have great tasting cocktails, well presented and a little different than the usual suspects.
S. M.
Saw the Genesis tribute band here 'Invisible Touch'. Great night and a perfect place for creating a fantastic intimate ambience. Almost felt we were part of the band! Great venue. Great service. Lovely atmosphere. Fantastic staff. Couldn't fault it.
M. M.
Whole gig experience ruined by dozens of people out to meet up with friends and make unreasonable noise during artists spots. No respect. Becoming typical of most music venues unfortunately.
R. C.
Had a fantastic time with great cocktails
R. F.
Food was good but I disliked the attitude of one of the waiters.
I politely asked him if he could take a picture of us whenever he had a minute and his immediate response was "no, I'm busy". Not the best way of making a tip.
I understand a waiter can be busy but, believe me, that waiter was not busy. We saw him standing near the bar not doing much. He was clearing a table when I asked and that's why I said "when you have a minute".
Rest of the staff was nice but his attitude put us off.
s. s.
Fun and lively spot. . Food was good value and well presented. Cocktails were delicious. Staff were friendly and we were given carafe of flavoured water when seated whilst we made up our minds a huge contrast to the previous place. Loved it
R. M.
Great drinks, music, and decor. Had a brilliant time!
L. S.
Very lush venue, lots of wood and dark red. It's mainly a bar that does great cocktails, but also has a restaurant area and a number of different rooms which host different events and can be hired for your own event.
Food is good, the bar can get very busy and the ladies toilets are right down at the far end so it can sometimes be a bit of an adventure squeezing through to get there.
a. d.
Great cocktails. Staff were welcoming and friendly
P. R.
An old gin palace converted into a cocktail bar, it looks decadent as, but still feels welcoming, the staff were excellent and particularly attentive to detail. Particularly Steve who made me extraordinary cocktails all night while helping other customers. Definitely a choice place for lovers of spirits in Edinburgh.
M. L.
Very stylish, good food, friendly staff,.
S. H.
Fun place with really interesting decor and cool rotating drink specials. I was here for a wedding welcome party.
J. H. (.
I went in out of my depth being more used to a weatherspoons than a nice place like this and discretely told the barman I had no idea what to drink but i like all alcohols and could he make me whatever he would drink which is relatively cheap and he made me an amazing drink and chatted with me the whole time! In most places like this the bar staff can be unapproachable but not here! An amazing place and would definitely recommend
J. N. C.
Amazing place. Very good looking bar/restaurant and the waiters were very attentive. Amazing drink menu. Only went there for a drink but next time I hope to get some food as well.

Second time here and I love it. Wish the menu had a bit more to offer. They need to put the selion steak back too. Service was great. Lots of drinks on the menu. But did not think that 10% of party of 5 (mandatory) or more should have service charge.

I always visit the voodoo rooms when in Edinburgh. It's a great place with friendly staff and relaxed atmospheric bar. We really enjoyed the bottle service which was an excellent price and will keep us coming back. We received perfect service from the bar staff who looked after our group and made ys feel welcome. I've also been here on another occasion for food as a couple and this was also a great experience with tasty food at great prices when using the taste card. Please visit for drinks or of you have time food, this is a must when in Edinburgh.

Fantastic. Classy decor, lovely staff, was attending a Blues evening in the function room, but used the bar and lounge areas, 1 star off as had to stand for 2.5 hrs at the gig, it's a small intimate venue, which in itself is great, but a seat would have been handy.
A. M.
Great Food and great cocktails.Food was all fresh made to order and cocktails you can watch them make them .Definitely our favourite meal on our holiday .Definitely will be back .
D.
Went to see a magician here during the festival, Eliot Bibby! A fantastic night with a really interesting and unique show. The voodoo rooms themselves seemed very luxurious and overall had a great atmosphere. Can be a tiny bit hard to find as it's down the bottom of a fairly narrow side road but overall is a lovely place!
A. S.
Went to Voodoo Rooms a couple of times for drinks with mates. Beautiful main bar, and a host of expertly-made cocktails. I never got to try the food but it looked and smelt amazing!! Would recommend to anyone.
G. R.
Post COVID and the food is still good 👍.
Took 25 minutes to arrive. Worth the wait.
R. C.
This is a different and bohemian style night club / bar / restaurant / live music venue... A bit of everything goes on here. The decor inside is very fancy if a little dark. The design on the ceilings is really nice, the gold paint is wacky but not too tacky! It is an unusual venue for a different night out.
m. s.
Had so many great nights supping on cocktails here, or attending live music gigs.
The staff here are fantastic and the cocktail menu is original and fun. It's tucked away so feels a wee bit off the beaten George Street track.
A. A. B.
Drinks were really nice, had plum bourbon myself, everything is around £5 regardless of alcohol content. Service was great but a bit slow for initial orders and bringing the bill.
T. E.
Good place for pre-club or pre-dinner drinks. Nice selection of drinks and good cocktail menu. Little bit pricey but not too bad. Hosts live music and other cabaret acts. It's on the first floor so wheelchair access could be an issue.
C. W.
Not bad on price just a little on the expensive side but very mellow place.
A. L.
Went to see Logan's close and Awkward family portrait. Greeted on the door by a friendly welcoming Door supervisor. Venue was busy but not too crowded, bar staff were polite and efficient. Good friendly atmosphere.
F. S.
Love the decor and ambience of the voodoo rooms. Good choice of drinks and cocktails. Good food and not overly pricey altho expect to pay town prices! Good music often on live, gets busy with a mixed crowd of people and age groups and regular burlesque events. Good night out every time!
W. B.
Really Great Location for live music and entertainment. Friendly stuff, moderate prices for drinks...well, Edinburgh is not a bargain...Restaurant was closed due a privat event...so no information about that. Concert was great, Martin Harley and Band...outstanding 110 Minutes Bluesrock at its best
A. M.
Amazing bar with a great ambience. Prices are absolutely amazing. A whisky cocktail for £5.75!
A. F.
Great small venue for live music, good service but we couldn't get fed in the end.
Must go back sometime.
E. *.
Great place. Very pretty decoration inside. We went here for dinner. Both the burger and risotto were very good. Lots of choice for drinks. Nice place if you want something different.
J. R.
The Voodoo Rooms is probably one of my favourite venues in Edinburgh. Not only is it small so it's only good for nice, intimate gigs but it's also well hidden so you feel like it's your little secret. If you didn't know where to look, you'd walk right past it.
If gigs aren't your thing, then it's also home to a really nice bar that serves awesome cocktails by the nicest staff for a decent price. What more could you ask for?
D. P.
Quirky and located just behind Princes Street. Food didn't take long to arrive and although they got the order wrong they resolved it straight away and were very apologetic. Would come again for food as had a nice atmosphere and they're on Taste Card which is always a bonus.
s. s.
Only been once for a concert but it was wonderful. We were made as comfortable as possible in our seats even though it was a standing room only venue. The food would have been terrific if we'd remembered to book in advance. We will next time
E. H.
The voodoo rooms are absolutely beautiful and serve the most amazing cocktails. Definitely worth a visit. There is a whiskey based chocolate and coffee cocktail which is out of this world, but honestly anything I've had from the menu was great!
T. R.
Visited as a Fringe venue. What a surprise! Fantastic decor once you get inside. Staff were good but service wasn't exceptional. Drinks were reasonably priced, though.
D. H.
Have been here a few times now for gigs and drinks. First of all the voodoo rooms is an amazing live venue for bands, feeling large enough to accommodate an audience of 250-300 and yet intimate enough to see the whites of the performers eyes. Acoustics are top notch too, having recently seen The Beards and Blues N Trouble there, I can't fault the sound at all! Now to the bar, which is opulently decorated, gives the feeling of being somewhere pretty exotic. Drinks are a little expensive, but this is a top class establishment so it's to be expected. Its always busy though so its best to head along early to get a seat. A must see destination hidden away in the heart of Edinburgh.
R. S.
Stunning bar and lovely staff. The venue has three rooms of entertainment. Beautiful. Also the food is great and the cocktails best in Edinburgh.
R. M.
The Voodoo Rooms is a bit of a favourite for a variety of reasons. First of all I love the feeling that it's hidden - Yet it's only a minutes walk from the busiest street in Edinburgh, Princes Street. You'll never know it's there without a little inside knowledge or if you stumble upon it by accident. The decor is super chic inside, very elegant and upmarket and there is plenty of choice in your tipple especially if you like your cocktails. The service is good too - the staff are all very friendly. During the festival the Voodoo rooms also doubles as a venue, generally showing free events. I've been to a few magic/comedy routines here which I enjoyed immensely and then followed them up with a few drinks. Definitely a great place for a night out on Edinburgh's tiles :-)
g. s.
Looks like a traditional pub on the outside but it is like the tardus on the inside, and the decor is fantastic.
Had a bit of an issue with a member of staff serving us drinks at last orders and then less than 10 minutes later telling us that we could not finish them. F@#÷!$
M. G.
Fantastic venue, especially during the fringe, the atmosphere is great, everyone are very friendly.
Drinks are a bit expensive and not very varied yet they're still good.
Very big space, to hang out and have a laugh
Recommended
L. L.
Great cocktails and mesmerising bar...a bit dearer than your local but definitely worth it!
D. A.
Renowned for its cocktails, it also has a good food offering. Pleasant staff. Fashionable clientelle.
A. R.
An absolutely gorgeous bar, that I love the idea of more than the actual execution. While it looks great with a mix of dark painted walls and gilded skulls and mirrors, the main bar isn't the best layout for a large group and I often find that I leave disappointed, as I really want to like this place. You can only fit a handful of people around a booth, of which there are five or so lined up in row opposite the bar. If you have more people than that, it doesn't matter where they stand, they will be in someone's way.
You can get bottle service, which is fun, but be prepared to wait a long time for it. In fact, be prepared to wait a while at the bar in general, as the staff aren't too bothered about making you wait. Drinks are on the pricey side, and cocktails are ok if a bit generic. Basically, this place looks like it tires hard, but doesn't really try hard.
J. A.
Lovely venue nicely decorated. Food a bit weird but I only looked at the menu. Cauliflower risotto with chocolate jelly. Saw really really good show. Nailed it : Jeans L'Oréal. Really good fringe stuff
C. P.
Best food in Edinburgh by far but not cheap
D. B.
Faded decadence, great atmosphere. Nice mix of bar and restaurant, more the former than latter. There was a mixup with our order but handled brilliantly. Delicious food. Definitely recommended.
V.
The decor only already warrants a visit! Nice crowd, okay cocktails.
D. C.
Excellent liquor selection. Quite a lot of gigs held here, usually a young fashionable crowd kicking about (of that's your thing). Pretty small, gets busy quickly. Service generally ok.
M.
Great food. Great cocktails. Wonderful and talented staff will make beautiful cocktails to suit anyone's taste. Couldn't praise this place more everything about it is wonderful from the décor and the music to the food and the wide rage of drinks.
S. N.
The place is great! Perfect atmosphere - not too dark, not too light. Just like it is suppose to be. Service is fast and friendly. Menu is full with different amazing cocktails and drinks. Recommend it!
A. H.
Rory was exceptional. He went over and beyond with my specific allergies and requirements and was extremely kind and went above his job to help me. He is a credit to the company and is an exceptional person. Also nick, brad, Sarah and tom are exceptional mixologists. Would 12/recommend
M. F.
Such a stylish venue: velvet sofas, twinkly ceiling, beautifully served cocktails. I must try the food one day as well, but already it's one of my top places for drinks and a good meet up with friends.
S. M.
Pleasant venue for drinks, I've only been twice - once for a twitter event and a second for after work drinks. Both times have been what I expected, the drinks have been in the right places (in my face!) and the staff have known what they're doing.
E. P.
Great decor and we would have liked to order food but we only ordered drinks. The cocktails were nice. We had a nice chilled evening.
D. R.
Fantastic atmosphere , service and cocktails
B. B.
Nice decor and vibe. Customer service was good but could be improved. Long wait for drink times but blame covid lol. Overall a good night
m. s.
Nice cocktails. Indoor decor is cozy.. good for a get together with friends. Helpful staff.
D. S.
I've been to the Voodoo Rooms many times for events and always loved it - we booked the Voodoo Rooms for a hen party and they took great care of us and the meal was fantastic. This is a great place with so much atmosphere to go for a drink - the speakeasy room is a great venue as well!
P. C.
I love the Voodoo Rooms. Seeing a concert in such a gorgeous place is a really good experience and their bar is amazing. It reminds me a lot of my favourite venue in Barcelona (Sala Apolo), with all that wood and the old decoration. Make sure not to miss it
J. w.
We had an amazing time attending a private Cocktail Making Class! Everything was spot on, from the gothic style interior, to the fact that we had a room to ourselves, and we couldn't have asked for a nicer really informative host 👍👍
T. A.
Love the decor staff really friendly the main hall was abit tight however still a great atmosphere for the concert
K. G.
Food and service was brilliant, they went above and beyond for our daughter. Would highly recommend.
C. W.
Brilliant place for a couple of beers and a nice bite to eat. Fantastic music venue, they have some great established acts but also an array of up and coming artists
L. H.
Absolutely amazing looking bar. With very friendly staff.
V. F.
Lovely Bistro/ Restaurant and venue where I watched Actress/ Singer Chrysta Bell of Twin Peaks perform with her amazing band on Sunday night 8th April. Brilliant afternoon and evening. 🤩
J. P.
Great venue for live music and good bars throughout. A special place to hire for the right occasion. Cocktails can be variable otherwise everything is done well.
S. G.
The atmosphere his really nice but the food his tasteless the staff are abit head in the cloud but friendly
J. L.
I want to like the place more but I just can't give it more than 3 stars...
I know the bar staff do lots of cocktails but service is always in slow motion. Sorry folks if that hurts but we don't come into a bar to wait longer than it should to be served.
t. s.
The Voodoo rooms are Classy. Beautiful caberet bar awesome selection of malts, gins, vodka's
Friendly staff. Wrapped up in building built in the 1860s.
A. W.
Here for a friend's birthday. Voodoo rooms booths are OK for small groups, but it feels a bit one sided. They need more stools. We ordered bottle service and it took ages to arrive. Which seemed bizarre as it's a bottle of spirit and a few mixers. Nice mouldings though, and the clientele were hot.
A. F.
Raucous, rowdy and a laugh during the festival. Good place for comedy, and home to some excellent PBH free fringe shows. Bar is very busy upstairs in the main area, go to the bars in the rooms themselves when the shows are on. Can't talk for outside of festival times!
C. B.
Gorgeous Victorian style bar with helpful staff, good music, and off beat entertainment. Great place for a cheeky cocktail after a long night while feeling a bit fancy
R. S.
That place looks very royal.
Live music venue inside.Very nice.Outside looks great, especially in the evening
E. H.
Nice vibe, the interior of this place is very charming. The menu could be more interesting and include more vegetarian options
D. D.
Excellent gig here tonight, staff friendly and masked up when moving between areas, decent crowd too.
C. S.
Quirky restaurant. Beautiful decor and tasty food.
P. S.
Nice place, crowded during the fringe as use they use every single piece of area available for performances but otger than that it's not as bad. Drinks prices are reasonable.
d. d.
Visited the Voodoo rooms for dinner pre concert (Ian Siegal band) starter was alright corgette or zucchini fritters with feta and guacamole; the Greeks do them so much better, however, it was the vegetarian option. Too follow goats cheese & roast pepper (red) ravioli again the only veggie option and again was alright not a huge portion three ravioli's. Wine was very drinkable and you get a discount if you show your concert ticket. Staff were lovely and service was great. Would I return probably not.
J. F.
An intimate live music venue near Waveney Station in the centre of Edinburgh serving food and drinks
K. B.
Lovely food, great atmosphere, staff were attentive but not overbearing.
Can recommend the cod, it was devine.
M. S.
Never been hugely impressed with the Voodoo Rooms. For an upmarket cocktail bar, the service can sometimes be a bit lacklustre. It does host some great events in its two large event spaces though.
P. W.
Tables and chairs at a standing room only gig, folks blocking doorways, could be a better experience. The gig was made less enjoyable due to a select few people who can't behave themselves in a crowded room due to consuming too much drink. VR needs a bouncer even in weeknight events. You go to see the bands, not to have to endure the bad behaviour of one unpleasant individual who spoilt the event for quite a few others.
J. W.
Nice venue, good for drinks, friendly staff
G. G.
Fantastic gig with Withered Hand (with strings!). Really Great... See him/them soon!!
Nice food beforehand in the restaurant. Great service, nice atmosphere.
R. S.
Decent enough for small gigs, nice pint as well.
M. S.
Enjoyed both the food and the atmosphere very much!

Anna Morris: It's Got To Be Perfect.
Anna Morris: It’s got to be Perfect Voodoo Rooms Ballroom (venue 68).
It doesn’t have to be perfect, it has to be worth it! A powerful take away message was delivered in the form of a brides (Georgina, of the Chipping Norton set) wedding rehearsal, about to marry a prominent conservative M.P. who is minister for women and equality (played each day by a guest) each days audience are the guests at the time of this review there were 18 more rehearsals until the big day, the comedy was constant the set up and choosing members of the audience to take part and the improvised rehearsal was smart quick and hilarious! the audience got to add objections, and choose the wedding music all of which delivered hilarious results, I can’t believe this was a free show and urge people this is at least a £10 show after all Vera Wang dresses aren’t cheap darling.
I. J.
A cool bar with very helpful staff, certainly worth a visit. Food is good too, as are the cocktails. Live bands and DJs in the music rooms make this a popular venue at weekends.
A. R.
Hidden gem in the heart of Edinburgh. A speakeasy bar and during the Fringe they always have amazing Fringe performers such as Phil Jupitus or Gillian English. Go here for a drink, food and during the Fringe in August - entertainment.
S. S.
Was there for a gig and it was perfect. The staff are lovely, helpful and friendly. The drinks are obscenely overpriced, of course, but that's Edinburgh(and Glasgow).
M. S.
Popped in quickly for a drink here and was enjoyable. Quite a busy place and the ambience was great. Enjoyed some great red which helped the Scottish winter blues.
B. K.
Just visited here to watch a band. I am disabled and unfortunately they don't have access. Had to climb 30 stairs to get in. Very helpful staff who assisted me. Lovely room where the band played.
S. M.
Great food and Cocktails! The place has a great vibe and design too. Will definitely come back next time we're in Edinburgh!
F. D.
One of the best events venues in edinburgh, anything from a ceilidh to Shakespeare
C. w. l. “.
Beautiful inside, good music and vibe. Friendly staff and service will definitely be back.
H. S.
The Voodoo Rooms upstairs bar has a very unique, Gothic atmosphere, which I loved. The staff was friendly and the drinks were good.
r. m.
Excellent service staff are very helpful and friendly. Cocktails are a bit expensive!
E. F.
With an elaborate and extravagant interior The Voodoo Rooms is an inviting sport for cocktails and a quick bit. The staff are willing to go off menu with the cocktails and offer you up something unexpected and delicious. With a live music venue downstairs, The Voodoo Rooms is often hosting music nights.
S. M.
Went to The Voodoo Rooms for a drink with some friends after going out for a meal. It was alright.
The place had a good atmosphere and wasn't overly busy. what I will say is that the music was too loud and the drinks are slightly over priced.
G. H.
The Voodoo rooms is the home of Vegas and various burlesque & cabaret shows during the festival
I can certainly say that the 1920 styled decor in the bar suits the Vegas vibe. Swing tunes showgirls, cocktails and casino tables (just for fun) makes for an enjoyable evening with a really good atmosphere and a packed dance floor
R. D.
Very enjoyable evening last night at The Voodoo Rooms.
The decor in the main bar is lovely, ornate and well kept. They have a fantastic range of booze available (apart from beers, although they did have Innis and Gunn and Brooklyn Beers by the bottle).
They have a very extensive range of gins, whiskies, bourbons, rums, vodkas and some alcohols I never heard of..!
They also make up a wide range of cocktails. We sampled a Gingerbread Whicker Man which involved settging cinammon sticks alight and capturing the smoke. Very dramatic.
I also sampled a few different bourbons which were great. If you like trying a sample of different drinks this is a great place.
We were at the Voodoo rooms to catch Tom Hickox. He was performing in one of the other rooms - The Speakeasy. This was setup with tables and space for standing. It was an intimate room which was just the ticket for Tom's gig. The Speakeasy has a smaller selection of drinkage, but still a good selection. You can go back to to the main bar to pick up anything not in the Speakeasy and take it in with you, offering the best of all worlds.
Would I go back again? I certainly would.
P. B.
Pleasant experience. Good food and drinks. Nice friendly staff.
S. C.
Lovely surroundings that make those who have nenver visited before go 'oooh!'. The voodoo rooms is tucked away behind princes street but still close enough to run for that last bus or train home. More for the cocktail fans as i didn't think the range of beer and ciders was very spectacular. Aside from the main bar and venue area there are a number of smaller rooms which are well utilised during the festival. They can also be privately hired for parties - one has a cool little dance floor.
D. H.
Oh how I Iove this place! Several performance spaces, a restaurant and a bar in a grandiloquent building. The bar selection is excellent but just a classic Margherita is pure joy.
D. M.
Grand and elaborate. Going to the Voodoo Rooms is just like stepping back in time, with their art deco interior and spacious bar areas. The Voodoo Rooms host a number of events, and if you can get to one of their 'Vegas' nights you will not regret it!
K. M.
Visited for a cocktail masterclass. Had an excellent couple of hours. Highly recommend!
D. D.
Came here to see Eivor in concert. Staff were extremely accommodating, unfortunately the restaurant was full but so we couldn't eat but were able to have drinks while we waited. Would definately come again.
S. S.
Stunning venue, excellent food, knowledgeable staff.
T. D.
Great venue for a party. Helpful staff and not bad on the bar prices. We had a fabulous evening.
P. A.
Love this place as bar. Set up well. Serve can be all or nothing. Not quite there with table service
A. H.
Fantastic decor and style, with an amazing bar with a wide range of cocktails and drinks to top. Staff are friendly and the events can be worth going to.
G. M.
Very well presented clean venue.Food was good highly recommended the Burgers 👍Very friendly staff
C. T.
Very quirky little place hidden away with a vibe for everyone
S. C.
Great rooms. Picturesque. Staff very friendly.
T. J.
Beautiful place, one of the best venues for Free Fringe shows in August. Food and drinks are decent but perhaps a little pricey.
C.
Amazing venue with a great selection of cocktails and spirits. Very cool interior, friendly staff and good drinks.
A. H.
Excellent atmosphere, very good cocktail selection. Not too loud so great to chat and catch-up with friends.
M. D.
Great drinks and very friendly staff
C. A.
I was there for a gig, bit short of toilets and bar staff. Appart from that not bad
C. S.
Not the easiest place to find, bit worth looking for. Was initially sceptical about the menu, but thought we'd give it a try anyway and was very impressed. Great tasting food.
P. G.
Cosy wood heavy bar that's got several interesting rooms that really come into play during the Fringe. A surcharge on all card payments is a bit petty which takes off a star, and the draft selection is a bit limited but some nice wines.
S. K.
Great decor. Light up dancefloor is always a winner with me. Drinks a bit expensive but all round a great venue.
J. K.
Well decorated cocktail bar. Usually full, and often a bit overpriced, but a decent atmosphere. Also has a bar for live acts, and serves decent food.
M. Y.
Was alright, just went for drinks. Expensive but the cocktails are strong. Not really my scene.
R. W.
Nice place good cocktails bit busy
D. N.
Nice place. Friendly people. Probably would have been a better atmosphere if it wasn't for pandemic. One to visit again in future, I think.
J. S.
I guess that's for drinks it's great. The food lacked a little flavor which was promised on the menu. E.g. Shrimp ravioli and chili didn't have a hint of chili and was too oily
E. A.
Lovely service, great food. Drinks are mainly lovely although not the cheapest! Decor is really nice and unique.
g. c.
Nice bar, good service, very good selection of interesting cocktails, but beer selection poor. Craft beer offerings very limited
E. B.
Was gd but they should have rested the burger properly. Some servers were more attentive than other X x
M. T.
Cocktail making as part of my henny. Very friendly, helpful and knowledgeable mixologist. Great choices, nice cocktails. Great experience
H. W.
Very inventive food and drink restaurant in a baroque setting, highly recommend if in the area. Gets crowded early so be mindful of the time when making dinner plans.
j. m.
Pretty average, dont know what everyone was raving about to be honest, long thin cramped bar, not my idea of fun
W. B.
From what I can remember it was pretty decent in there. Particularly liked the table service. Didn't get lost trying to find the toilets either. Will be back!
T. R.
Amazing meal and drinks tonight, service great and food amazing. Highly recommend x
K. M.
Great venue for StillMarillion gig.
A. B.
Very friendly barstaff! Place is a tad expensive but they definitely know how to make a fantastic cocktail!
C. S.
Was there last night to see nine below zero, good intimate venue and a great concert
B.
The Voodoo Rooms, good night of cocktails. Went for my birthday, free shot! Thank you 😊
R. A.
During festival this is THE only page to be at the end of the night. The rest of the year is an amazing place you begin or end your night... but make reservations, as it gets really busy
G. B.
Great service, good selection of spirits and a really cosy bar.
h. R.
Beautiful venue, great service, fantastic cocktails. And altho i never ate i heaed from friends the food was superb.
L. P.
Great venue but had to wait a bit too long to get served a drink, recommended for the not too thirsty :)
D. S.
Amazing art Deco cocktail bar with function rooms. My favourite bar in Edinburgh by far.
K. W.
Great vibe. Great food. Staff was nice but completely inattentive. We didn't seem to be in anyone's section.
C. W.
Not the cheapest night out you'll ever have but if you like good cocktails this is one of the better places in Edinburgh.
L. V.
Very interesting interior, great cocktails and friendly staff. You can't ''accidentally'' go there though, you have to be actually looking for it! Will go again.
j. h.
Great place for a cocktail.friendly welcoming staff.
M. A.
Beautiful interior, and a great Fringe venue. Lots of interesting cocktails on offer, at decent prices.

A. H.
Fab cocktails and great waiting service, would recommend!
C. M.
Peculiar but pleasant bar with a seedy feel, like your Mum. Good cocktails but service is decidedly slow. Wacky decor.
M. M.
I always love the Voodoo Rooms for an after work cocktail or four. The food it's delicious, the staff are always pleasant and the decor is beautiful.
D. D.

C. S.
Great looking place with lovely food and nice beer (Bitter and Twisted). Not overpriced either.... Highly recommend :-)
K. M.
Can't believe I've not been here yet - a wonderfully presented bar with delightful food and drink. I mistook it for a nightclub, but no longer!
C. A.
A lively venue during the Edinburgh Fringe. Efficient drinks service and very accomplished at organising the audience into and out of the performance space.
S. V.
The place looks fancy while the service and food are rather mediocre.
J. M.
Brilliant burgers, great choice of beer, amazing staff and perfect venue for live music
V.
a must see place once you are in Edinboro. location and menu are just fantastic. waiters are super kind and very polite.
A. N.
Excellent food and cocktails with very good atmosphere. Only downside is that service can sometimes be a bit slow.
D. N.
A unique and vibrant entertainment venue with a setting that will take your breath away! Its a must when in Edinburgh
M. S. (.
The interior design was amazing and so was the drinks. But the service was slow, even thought the amount of people in the venue was at a medium size.
S. H.
Lovely walking in amazing atmosphere but the cocktail was horrific literally tasted like they threw some vodka and water together and for added flavour threw in a GRAPE which obviously has no flavour until broken.
C. V. B.
Good cocktails in a very beautiful setting. Stop here for one drink before or after dinner just for the atmosphere.
D. S.
Great venue and the blues club was great fun.
M. V.
We came there and waited a moment between our orders and the serving, but it was good and the spirit of the restaurant is really nice.
C. M.
Visited for a wedding and thoroughly enjoyed it. Great bar staff and catering staff. Recommended
E. S.
Amazing atmosphere, delicious drinks, huge bar! Loved it and recommend it a lot!
A. E.
Very nice. Quirky with good food. Just lacked music to help with atmosphere
K. G.
Saw live band. Busy but not enough bar staff.
G.
Lovely food and cocktails offered in a beautiful setting, with very friendly staff.

F. S.
Went there to see a show/concert. Nice place with great cocktails and the food was great too.
T. W. (.
Good variety of both food and cocktails. Nice environment. Very large portion sizes.
G. B.
Wow, if that Café Royal is not enough go upstairs to the Voodoo Rooms, brilliant bar and food with lots of other rooms for music and the arts to showcase. O
I. M.
Great wee gig to get up personal to the band's. Bar well stocked and a nice menu.
A. D.
Great live music venue, sound is fab. Brilliant selection of food and drinks.

It makes everyone feel so comfortable.

A great venue and bar.... not that many left in our city
Amazing decor
L. W.
Small intimate place for a gig. Bar open everyday until 1am. Would travel there again.
