Great local pub, been coming here over the years now and then for food and it has never disappointed. The fries were awesome, a meal in themselves and the staff very friendly and helpful. Miss the beef stroganoff though, that was awesome!

We went for something to eat. 7.30 Sunday turned out to be the start of the quiz, if you are interested. Efficient service and the food was grand.

Booked a window table in advance for a special occasion and when we arrived were told we were sitting beside the tv, I objected and the staff reluctantly moved things around and we got our window seat. Food and drink were good but the small portion of the fish is tiny!

The staff were great, enjoyed my meal. I went for a fairly late lunch and it was pretty quiet with a mainly older clientele but that's just my own we snap shot. The surroundings were clean and comfortable and I loved the menu choices. Would visit again.

Very accommodating staff, excellent bar for food and drinks. Dogs and kids welcome too which is really nice. Little bit cold inside in the winter but overall a comfortable 5 stars. Will definitely return!

Really nice vibe. Feels like the staff really care. Didn't eat but food coming out of the kitchen looked well presented. The only reason i didn't give 5 stars was because too bright, music was very low and felt it needed minor updates to venue but will definitely return. FYI drinks variety is good 👍

Went for breakfast and wasn't disappointed. Had the vegetarian option which came with a good selection. Wasn't asked for my preference of eggs. Our server was a pleasant and chatty fellow and they knew their regulars on a first name basis and what they wanted. Nice place and with some minor tweaks such as asking how you like your eggs would have got the 5.

Good breakfast menu to kick off a Saturday morning! Stay on for watching sport on the many screens but if that doesn't appeal there are booths to escape to. Real ales are well kept and change regularly. Daytime food also good quality and reasonably priced. Staff friendly and efficient although I wish they would write down the order rather than try to memorise it more often!

A nice bar which I wish I went to more often. Good selection of drinks, including beers, ales, gins and vodkas. Have eaten both breakfast (all made with good quality stuff) and dinner (service was a little slow, but the burger was excellent) once each, and am keen to go back at some stage. Slightly pricier than your average Wetherspoons, but the quality is much better. I've heard they host a very good pub quiz on Sunday.

Eaten food hear a few times now. Really good quality meals and reasonable prices. The quiz nights on Sunday are good fun. Also big screen TV for football. Dog friendly which makes a big difference.

The Waiting Room is one of the best establishments in Morningside with a good light meal menu a good choice of drinks. It is especially good for sport lovers with a large number of stratecally positioned televisions.

The waiting room is a finely balanced and quiet restaurant , during the day, week and weekends, noisier with drinkers at night ; the waiting room serves breakfast , lunch and dinner with a nicely priced menu. Kids are welcome before legal bartimes and with a small car park and easy parking outside prices to be a good choice for Sunday brunchers, local golfers and drinkers.

Pretty rubbish selection of cask beer. 2 advertised on the board which were wrong and only 2 out of the 5ish cask taps were pouring. Coke draught and bottled available. Standard draught taps. Staff are fine. Came in to watch the football and it's decorated nicely at christmas. There's a big selection of food and the pub quiz seems good from the outside. Live music occasionally on a Friday night.

Nice atmosphere My caesar salad had tomatoes cucumber and olives but was okay. An excellent burger with haggis, but the star was the french toast with maple syrup and bacon. Stick to the traditional and breakfast menu for the win. Sharing plate pudding was fun.

Decent sized bar with nice decor, good drinks and food. Can see it being a bit of a pest for anyone with mobility issues as there are various steps up to bar, between sections of the pub and toilets. Particularly strong for sports watching as they have big screens although I've never seen it be particuarly rowdy. Good for a bigish group meetup.

Good wee local pub when I lived in Morningside. They often have some sort of entertainment, live music etc and also have loads of board games and cards which make a fun night. The food is good, a good mixed menu and not bad prices.

The Waiting Room used to be my regular haunt when I stayed in the Oxgangs area of Edinburgh, partly because it's a great pub and partly because Oxgangs lacks just that. The food was generally very good, a step or two up over average chain pub fare. The seating is comfortable and the pitchers of cocktails lethal. Friendly staff, decent service and a relaxed atmosphere. Not necessarily the best pub in Edinburgh, but still a great place to drink and spend time with friends. If you stay locally you can't go too far wrong with the Waiting Room.

This place has a really, really good selection of beer, and pretty cool train-themed decor, but it’s let down with the atmosphere. I’m not sure what it lacks, but it’s never somewhere I’m tempted to go back to. They’re big on live sport, and sometimes it just doesn’t feel as nice a place to settle down for some drinks. Head up the road to Bennets of Morningside for a cosier time!
