The first and foremost point to raise here is that even though it was a Saturday night, the establishment offered free entry. We were seated within 10/15 minutes of arrival as a group of six and really had the best luck in being placed right next to the piano. The pianist was excellent in taking requests and getting the audience involved. He played several of our requests and for that we left a sizable tip. All drinks were served to our table by our waitress who was quick to fix any problems. We had a cocktail glass shatter because it was so cold and before we could even get the table cleaned, 2 cocktails were made up and brought to us on the house. We spent over 2 hours here and enjoyed every minute. The only slight negative I would add was the location of the toilets. It was a fair old trek for tired old legs. If you're looking for that night put with a twist! Blue Dog is the place to be!!

Nice cocktail bar. Upstairs has a lively vibe, at the weekends there's usually live music with a loud piano player singing Elton John sort of music, it can be hard to tolerate until you've drank enough to enjoy it. Downstairs is a chilled classy speakeasy bar with great drinks!

Blue Dog has more upscale cocktails than some of the other bars in the area. Their menu had a lot of choices and the bartenders were friendly and helpful. Our drinks tasted amazing.

This is my absolute favourite place in Glasgow to drink. The cocktails are well made and the extensive menu means you’ll never get bored. The staff are lovely and it’s always clean and tidy. It’s usually got a nice buzz about it - if you’re looking for a seat/table on a weekend then you’d best book ahead. Well worth a visit!

Cocktail bar with table service and a live singer on the piano. Great music and drinks. It's a long thin bar so not much capacity and the stools are not very comfy. Sort the seating and this would be 5 stars from me.

Cocktail lounge with trained mixologist, so you may procure regular cocktails or they shall concoct Bespoke Cocktail, recommended and surprising. One reservation. Downstairs is boring as their is banal piped music, unlike upstairs which has live music. Reserve a table as it fills up quickly.

The problem with Cocktail bars is it takes so long to make a cocktail and thus it took me ages to get served here. Anyway quite a chic bar and a piano player / singer too, and now they've opened a further bar downstairs there's even enough seating

Five stars all day everyday. Not a standard bar, these bartenders are actual specialists. Drinks were amazing and at a reasonable price. Be sure to check out their loyalty card/scheme with which the price is very reasonable. Decor is lovely and crowd is mixed generally older, I'd say minimum 30s.

Been here a couple times, first time for my birthday and most recenly last night. We bought a voucher for cheese boards and cocktails and everything was amazing, great service and fantastic cocktails. The cheese board was also delicious. First time in here. What a lovely place will definitely be back. Was never comfortable in a bar on my own but here it didn't matter, the staff are warm and welcoming and really friendly. Music was really relaxing, Blue Dog is the kind of place you can come and relax either on your own or in a crowd. They make the most amazing cocktails too, I didn't partake as I was driving however I was watching and their attention to detail was astounding, nothing was thrown together everything was well measured and beautifully presented. A great place to recommend.

My go-to for cocktails in Glasgow! The mixologists are incredibly knowledgeable and will make you up something based on your preferences! Amazing! It's a great late night bar with a nice mixed crowd. Absolutely recommend it!

Nice cosy jazz bar in the city centre. The cocktails and atmosphere were great but the service was very slow. Visited on a Saturday night and it took 30 minutes to be served two cocktails. Although they were very tasty, as the service was so slow we decided to go to another bar. I think there were too few staff on to cope with the demand of making complex cocktails. If you do visit I’d advise going online and registering for a free membership card which gets you money off the drink prices (this is just on selected drinks, so make sure you read which drinks are included first!!).

I love this place. I've been here quite a few times. They have a good drinks menu. I really enjoy the cocktails and the live music. Its lovely inside with nice lighting and seating areas. It also has a good mix of age ranges and is good for couples and friends. It is open til 3am. Can be busy and difficult get a seat sometimes.

Great experience at Blue Dog - went here for New Years Eve 2018. You can sign up for a membership card via their website and through that card you can discounts on selected drinks, including some cocktails. Live music is often to be found at the bar, with a piano on the ground level. There is also a disabled toilet at the back of the bar, with quite good access throughout - apart from the lower level of the bar which is down a flight of stairs. I would definitely recommend this place. Nice vibes!

If you are ever in Glasgow, Scotland. Do yourself a favor and make a trip to the Blue Dog. A friend and I on vacation got a few tips on the local flavor for food and bars from our hotel desk clerk. All were wonderful but the best was the local bar Blue Dog, with a great atmosphere and fantastic staff mixing up some fantastic cocktails and even personalizing them!! They even have a local magician (who will blow your mind) that frequents on certain nights. The local bands that play offer a variety of popular music which makes for a great sing along opportunity. I can’t recommend this bar highly enough! This Oklahoma girl will be back...that is for sure!

Always a good night in Blue Dog. Was a little disappointed recently as an unexpected closure of the ground floor due to a refurbishment. But all done now and back to a usual great service. Late night live lounge is always a hit too. Keep up the great work with great cocktails too

If you end up here when there’s great music playing, and it’s getting to the end of your night, it’s the perfect place to chill out and reset. The cocktail selection is great, and even the mock tails are genuinely delicious and refreshing. Best cocktail on the list, for a sweet tooth, is the Lemon Meringue Martini.

Really chilled environment with a huge selection of cocktails. The bar feels far more upper class and is a great place to enjoy a quieter drink with your SO or close friends. No super loud music or roudy atmosphere is really nice. If that is more your thing head to wetherspoons a few doors down! I had a zombie and a long island ice team and both were really well done!

Nice bar and staff very attentive, lovely wine, but pricey at £8.45 for large New Zealand, however it is lovely. Very cold at the font seats and not allowed to close the large curtain as the very rude steward on Saturday night kept telling us. Would put you off sitting there and hopefully the stewards rotate and he can advise you in a mannerly way.

Ok cocktails , not great does depend some what on the bar tender preparing the cocktails as to if they are good or not. Considering the quality of the cocktails they are over priced. For a couple of years Bluedog has been 5star, and just absolutely head and shoulders above any similar bar, the cocktails are still as good as ever, the staff and bouncers are still fantastic and make the place friendly and comfortable, but the clientele has really taken a nose dive. What seemed to be like the perfect venue for any date or any quiet professional night out now seems like a hot spot for drunken chavs or idiotic chancers who didn't make the casino run. More than 2 times I have seen the police escort someone out in the last 3 weeks. I really thought this was my favourite bar in Glasgow and must stress how great the staff are, but I am now apprehensive about taking anyone there due to the crowd.
