D. H.We went to the Old Plane Tree and had a lovely meal. The service on what was an extremely busy restaurant was excellent.
The waiting staff kept us updated all the time and were friendly and polite.
The meal was warm and fresh and the portion sizes were good.
I would recommend the Old Plane Tree for anyone who is hungry and wants a good meal.
A special mention to Toni-Leigh our waitress. She was excellent and always happy to help no matter how often we shouted on her. If only all waitresses were like her.
S. M.We had an attentive waitress who regularly checked what we had everything we wanted. We were told that it was busy so there may have been a delay, we appreciated being forewarned.
Service and time waited was excellent and food tasted great with good sized portions.
Lovely relaxed atmosphere and the bill is by far excellent value for money.
I don't think I have any negative comments, I just hope the staff are paid well!

We had Hunters Chicken and it was well presented, tender and tasty, our only concern was that there was too much barbecue sauce on it - but we now know that next ime we need to ask for the sauce to be "on the side" - the chips and the salad and onion rings were great. Definitely will go again when visiting the area

K. M.2nd visit served both time by Toni-Leigh. Very pleasant both times, although first time was very busy Toni- Leigh still showed interest and was polite and gave us the same level of service. Kids enjoy the park and machines. Very relaxed and pleasant atmosphere. Will definitely return again.
F. D.Nice staff. Usual menu with great choices. Only complaint is disabled parking and the entrance is quite a distance for someone with mobility issues. Other than that a very pleasant experience.

K.I've been here a few times (mostly with my partner and puppy) but today I came with my mum and had the best service experience I've had so fat. Anne was so lovely, attentive and was just overall great and the food was delicious!!

J.There was 20 of us and the staff were excellent in accommodating all of us. Most of the food was excellent but unfortunately I picked the Pasta Alfreddo with Chicken. Quite a small portion and the chicken was overcooked and dry.

D. P.Our server Alexis was great and also had a good knowledge of children with ASN. She was great food was also good. A little longer to wait but was expected as it was so busy. We were also 45mins late for our table due to waiting an hour and 20mins on a taxi i did call and say i would be late and they still had our table there waiting on us and were more than understanding with that as well. Also dog friendly.

K. E.When we arrived there was no member of staff evident and not sure what to do, we took a table and waited. Some time later we were approached by a blond waitress who asked if we would like a drink. I enquired if she could explain the menu procedure to us, which she did with confidence. We ordered a pint of Martson's Best and a glass of red wine (no choice of wine wine variety was offered) she upsold a large glass.
The drinks arrived promptly, quickly followed by the food which we had ordered ( 2 X lunchtime Hunter's Chicken). All was hot and paletable.
We noticed that there were a few tables that had been occupied, now empty but not cleared. However, the waitress soon busied herself to do so. Later a second waitress appeared and service improved.

j. w.We live locally, it's 5 minutes to walk for us so The Old Plane Tree is a place we love to visit regularly. It has everything you could ask for, good food, good drinks and the team are always so lovely, friendly and accomodating.
If we want, we have the option to bring our dog, where they give him a wee biscuit and some water or if we fancy going out for a couple of hours on our own, they do karaoke on a Saturday night, which is always fun. I can honestly say I've never had a bad meal in there, everything is great, on Saturday I tried the Southern Fried Chicken Burger off the new menu and it was delicious, portions are great too.
We are very grateful and lucky to have this amazing pub on our doorstep and we look forward to many more great nights to come.

Although it was a very busy time,our server Alexis was very attentive as we're all the staff keeping us update with how long we'd need to wait for our meal. Excellent service and excellent food. Also my husband and his friend known as (the pokemon guys) have been regulars every Thursday for the last 6yrs and will continue to do so. Thank you to all staff .

Her customer service is top class and she makes you feel so relaxed and comfortable, nothing is too much trouble for her! Overall, we have always had a great experience but made even better when Alexis is on shift! Would highly recommend!
M. O.Normally really enjoy this place but on the day we were in there was only one girl waiting tables and ended up leaving before dessert as it was taking so long for everything.
Food was still good though but think maybe a short staff issue created some issues.

Made sure the table was doubly wiped down, checked with the kitchen that there was no changes to the food on the app and the food came out flagged as allergy specific. We were really impressed and grateful for the care taken, the food was great and the service was excellent.

Surroundings were Ok rather disappointed in table placement as 4 of us were stuck in a wee corner encroaching on the fire exit. R. S.This is our ‘local’ and it lives up to being a great family restaurant. Always a warm welcome, cosy atmosphere, child friendly & good value. We love coming in for a wee pub lunch at the weekend, nothing is ever too much trouble! One minor complaint, my son would like some more toys in the grab machine as it’s nearly empty!!

s.This is our local restaurant and we visit usually midweek or a Sunday .It is a great family restaurant. You always are met with a warm welcome by friendly staff . The prices are great and buy one get one free usually so great value for money . There are usually good cocktails also .The staff are very efficient and nothing is too much bother . The manager usually visits the table at one point also which is a friendly touch .

T. *.Staff member, Rachel, who served my table was friendly, efficient and seemed tuned to our needs. Service was provided when needed and she offered the replacement drinks when glasses approached empty. Food was Ok for pub grub tho' next time I'll try the pizza as the next table had one which looked really tasty. For a starter we had the double share portion of Nachos - a huge plateful was served, the kids at the next table exclaimed 'wow' when it was delivered.
Main course was OK if a little basic.
Imagine our surprise when we got the bill, seems the place does 1 meal free so our bill was about 2/3rds of what we expected. I checked and the offer is - two for one everyday, cheapest main course free. Overall it was OK for a chain pub and we both said we would try it again if passing and needing a quick bite.
16012018 revisited. Served by the same waitress, she is an obvious asset. She attended to us like we were the only customers. Friendly and not pushy offered refill drinks at the right time was efgicient and helpful with our Gluten Free requests. Place was quiet, meals served quickly and were again OK for pub grub. I fancied one of the specials on the menu board but as it was snowing stuck with steak and ale pie.
As it was a quick meal and coffee we were only about 45 minutes and went away again chalking this up as an obvious place for a quick bite.
One main course free with another was still on offer, which made the meal even more acceptable.

We ordered the ribs to start. We got 3 small very dry & tough ribs on a plate with some lettuce, well it was 3 & a half ribs but one was just a bone? At nearly £5 we we're expecting a bit more. No barbecue sauce with them but we asked our waitress who promptly brought some out.
Dinner then arrived. I had the roast. Which was ok ish. The beef I think was the frozen variety the veg was very tasteless, even after adding salt. No where near enough gravy.
My husband got the sausage & mash. He said the sausages & mash was tasteless.
He asked for mustard we were given French hotdog mustard?
I asked if they could change it to English mustard None. So I asked for horseradish sauce to have with my beef none!
Come on guys get some condiments in.
Also maybe get the food sorted. Beautiful well decorated establishment but food is lacking.
We will give it another go though to see how other food tastes.

P. K.The Old Plane Tree is another in the chain of new "ye olde" pubs built on the outskirts of new housing schemes. As you'd expect with these chains there is a north of England type feel to the pubs and are run as fairly tight ships with staff buzzing about keeping up with the orders.
There is a huge choice of food, with this particular franchise specialising in pizza. The food has always been well made and fairly generous portions. As well as the extensive menu, there are also 15+ specials on the board to choose from.
It's a family orientated place with a small kids play area as well as an outdoor play section for the kids to run about in. My 3 year old is absolutely content with the touchscreen games and outdoor play.
I'd recommend this place, but watch your timing - at busy periods, it's very busy and can be a bit chaotic. Off peak - it's a lovely place to have a munch!

I would recommend this restaurant to anyone who don't like to be rushed to finish
