Reviews of Stereo
F. R.
Relaxed atmosphere and the food and drinks were great. Visited twice in a 4 day trip to Glasgow. The gochujang tofu burger was probably the highlight for me, really good texture and a bit of spice, less heat than I expected but enough to be really tasty. The cocktails were really good too and it's so nice to have a fully vegan bar so there's no need for googling ingredients. The staff were all really friendly too. Definitely recommend 😊
t.
Friendly, chilled and spacious. Loads of really good drink options. Alcohol free craft beers, sours, tap ales. Menu is vegetarian/vegan. Has the odd gig and staff are friendly, happy to help. A wee bit off the main centre of town so often avoids the crowds. A bar of consistent quality
J. M.
Such a groovy bar and gig venue. The staff are all very friendly and the place has a good atmosphere. I attended for a friends book launch and he totally outdone himself 🙌 what a fab evening with some cool cats 😎 …
S. M.
I have visited to eat many times and it's great to have a fully vegan menu. This is much smaller due to COVID closures, and the dishes have changed a bit. In my view the food is not as spot on perfect as it used to be, but still pretty good. The live venue is operated with safety in mind and is great for small gigs.
j.
Random gathering of old school friends yesterday. Absolute chance we rolled into Stereo. We only had drinks in a very relaxing atmosphere. We read the menu and sat close to the service area, and witnessed some outstanding food coming to the pass. Loved the staff, so friendly. Thanks guys, we shall return x
D. B.
Great atmos, staff, and food. Lovely rustic feel. Food is adventurous, all vegan, surprising, really tasty and fresh.
The Chip Supper was awesome. The banana blossom was like really meaty dish or even chicken texture.
Highly recommended. Reasonably priced for inner city nosh.
C. D. J.
Absolutely deserves more than the 4.4 review score they currently have. If not a full-on 5, then at least 4.7+, easily. Lovely, creative vegan food, possibly the best vegan burger I've ever had, great cauliflower Buffalo wings and amazing ramen. Only downside is that the portions were slightly bigger then our stomachs allowed... great work, deserving of a lot of praise!
G. R. (.
Stumbled upon this place last time I was in the city and had to go back. I had a photo of a drink I really liked and the bartender could easily identify it (even though it was out of season)! Being lactose-intolerant vegan dishes are great to have but sometimes can miss the mark, but everything here could fool me for the real thing! Try the buffalo cauliflower with the mayo – you won't regret it.
R. Q.
We visited here for 'small bites'. The food was really delicious, and it was clear care had been taken in the presentation too. Our drink order was slightly wrong but the staff dealt with it and were very friendly. Would visit again, as the range of vegan food (all of it) was nice and they had things most restaurants wouldn't (no falafel in sight)
T. G.
We love this place. The bartender was knowledgeable and I tried some gluten free beers while other ventured into beers. Fun laid back place
D. H.
Been twice and slowly becoming a favourite place to visit in Glasgow
R. H.
Such a great menu here and everything is vegan. Arepas and the tacos are probably my faves. Also a great drink menu and they always have specials on
A. Z.
I am a regular customer and but was extremely disappointed by my most recent experience attending their Halloween party . Bar staff were arrogant and discriminative , they kept serving customers ( who were mostly white and cishet ) who came after me for 30 mins until I finally confronted them.
As a Bipoc, it was mentally exhausting when you just wanted to have a good time .
A. S.
Food was excellent. How the hell did we not know Stereo existed!? Oh, saw the "Cocteau Twins" afterwards - absolutely fantastic.
B. T.
The manager of the restaurant has a great customer focus. Some of the waiters should follow that exemple. Great atmosphere (LGBT+ are very welcome), good music in the heart of the city. I strongly advise.
D. H.
Excellent food in a good atmosphere. I are here a couple of times and was very satisfied.
I really recommend a kind of fake fish made of jackfruit. Really amazing!
D. C.
One of the best meals I’ve ever had. Myself and my partner had between us the chip supper, cauliflower wings, tacos, asparagus. It was all delicious. The service was 2nd to none and Eevee the server was great. Fantastic!!!!!!!
C. B.
The food here is always impeccable but the staff are always very lacklustre. You always have to wait ages to get your order taken, to get plates taken away and to get the bill. The drinks are also kind of expensive. I keep coming back for the food but brace myself for how bad the service can be.
c.
Literally the best restaurant I've ever been to - fully catering for all dietery requirements, great staff and service. I will be visiting frequently when in Glasgow and hope to try everything on the menu - do yourself a favour and check this place out
H. R.
Staff is very friendly and helpful, it’s a bit pricy, but the menu is different from others, not only the normal meals you get everywhere. Posters on the wall against discrimination, and the cafe is wheelchair-accessible!
A. M. -. S.
Really friendly, calm staff ( we were served by James). Food was amazing, would have had more if we weren't so full. Prices are what you'd expect for an all vegan menu, drinks prices are what you'd expect for such a central location. Really great time overall
The downstairs gig venue is also fantastic, but a complete contrast in vibe depending on the show. 10/10 would recommend to anyone.
J. T.
Nice space and good drink selection (you can't go wrong with Beavertown beers). Cannot speak for the food menu as I have never had a meal here, but the event area downstairs is pretty solid and good for gigs ( a lot of good memories). Bathrooms are unisex which is nice as well 👍🏼 …
S.
Great place for a concert sound was good only downside is that there is a huge pillar if your at the back restricting the view,so you have to Jostle for good view.
J. Y.
What's not to like about Stereo? Great atmosphere and good surroundings. Can get quite busy at the weekends so can be difficult to find a seat but when you can it's really nice to chill here with your friends.
They also serve food. It's a vegan bar / restaurant and the food is surprisingly good. It's impressive what they can make with vegan ingredients and the best thing is that it's guilt free!
W. B.
Loved the food. Jackfish is amazing. Staff in general were friendly and helpful. Only reason I give 4 stars was the time it took to pay. Eventually gave up trying to get the guy's attention and paid at the bar. However I would go back again. Definitely recommend 😀 …
S. M.
Great selection of drinks and food. Friendly staff, quick service and tasty food.
S. C.
Best vegan grilled cheese sandwich I've had. Great service! Opens at 11am but only serves sandwiches and soup for the first hour. At 12 serves the full menu. Free wifi, around 10-15 pounds for a sandwich and coffee. Quality food.
K. M.
Really nice food and great vegan options
U. A.
Great vegan food, absolutely delicious and healthy.
Banana blossom is highly recommended.
L. H.
Amazing combination of flavours in all the food we tried, it was so unique and special. The portion sizes were really good and all very reasonably priced. The ambiance in the café was nice, the music was very interesting but made the dining experience more enjoyable. I highly recommend the buffalo cauliflower wings.
M. I.
very nice place, tasty food and nice atmosphere. I would recommend. Go vegan :)
A. M.
Great bar/venue. Friendly staff, always a good night!
K. C.
Fantastic place for a rock gig. Drinks not that expensive, only thing it could do with a bit of air conditioning. First visit and it won't be the last hopefully
R. L.
Great food, they had lagunitas which I love, friendly staff and then downstairs for music. What's not to like!
R. S.
Great choice of vegan food, tried the Stereo burger and vegan haggis pakora which were both very good, also friendly welcoming staff
I. D.
Great venue for gigs and live music, the upstairs bar is great as well.
I. T.
Excellent live performance by Cloudhouse as usual. Support bands were worth seeing as well, especially Moonlight zoo 👍👏👏 …
I. ..
Brought my family here on a weekend trip to Glasgow (although it was also my first time). Really great food and really great service!
G. M.
Nice venue great for night out live gigs and club events in the event section, staff are friendly, great place to have a night out or a quick drink
A. N.
Stereo is our go to for lunch mostly, but the menu suits dinner too. Vegan menu that really makes some delicious food. Friendly staff and well priced. Somewhat hidden, though that works to your advantage as it's never too busy that you can't get a table.
l. G.
Really lively bar, good selection of drinks and the music was current. Not too loud that we couldn't have a conversation but loud enough to be able to enjoy it! Fair priced aswell and really central for good atmosphere and train/bus links. Only criticism is when I showed up I was on my own as I was waiting for a friend. I walked up to the bar and waited to be served, at the time I was the only one there. No one acknowledged me and soon after a few other people joined the bar, they were served before me (which in my eyes is bad etiquette) Other than that, really good night out!
T. P.
Fantastic staff, who are incredibly knowledgeable about the range of vegan beers and food.
Normally quiet-ish midweek if you're padding, but worth booking if you have your heart set.
F. B.
Delicious, quick vegan food in a really central location. Great for all, not just vegans. Recommended! Will be back!
J.
Our first choice for food when visiting Glasgow, this was a really great location close to our hotel. My first time trying banana blossom in the 'fish' and chips and I was really delighted with the offering. We also tried the miso side dish which was yummy, and the seitan burger which was a popular choice from the looks of the tables around us. Dessert was a chocolate orange tart with a peanut twist. We had a theatre show to head to after so we didn't stay for the live music but it seemed like a great venue, even if you're just there for the food. Really enjoyed ourselves. I'd recommend booking in advance.
E. C.
Lovely bar, made room for us even though we didn't have a booking
L. H.
Had heard all about this place as one of the best vegan options in Glasgow and so maybe my expectations were a bit high... Quite pricey for the quantity of food and it wasn't remotely the best vegan I'd had in town. Seemed a bit stuffy for my tastes to be honest. Nice enough atmosphere but 78 off Finnieston is so much better!
C. G.
Had the jackfish and chips, was absolutely amazing. Consistency of fish was nice, and some of the best chips I've ever eaten. Good beer selection too
L. F.
Great atmosphere, vegan food and the chips were amazing. We went for lunch and the venue seems to be a good for all occasions. I would definitely recommend!
L. M.
Great concert venue, great to meet singer also. Few leaks u need to sort out as the night went on wooden bench as u enter
B. S.
Friendly staff and delicious food. Fab drinks selection 🙌 …
V. M.
Great atmosphere and staff ! Love to see a out and proud queer place .
For the food I expected it to be more tasty because the plating was so meticulous
L.
Great vegan options. Really enjoyed it
A. R.
Cracking vegan food! Friendly staff and good vibe all round 😁 …
A. G.
Good vegan food, was a bit disappointed that no vegan steak. Was looking forward to this on our holiday. Hopefully next time we are in Glasgow.
V. t.
Always had great and tasty food 😋 …
J. B.
Really tasty vegan food with a lot of choice. I would definitely recommend the buffalo cauliflower wings, delicious!
A. S.
Small, intimate venue, can be difficult to see band if small in stature .
S. D.
Came in for lunch when passing through and was totally taken aback - really tasty, chill vibes (was quiet since we came in off hours), lovely waiters. Ordered the black bean arepa - literally the most flavorful vegan food I’ve had in the month and a half I’ve been in the UK.
J. L.
Really delicious vegan food in the centre of Glasgow - really close to Central Station.
S. E.
Went for a quick drink. Good atmosphere.
o.
Amazing vegan food and great cocktails.
B. G.
Lovely evening and entertainment first rate.
M. G.
Food and service fantastic Menu is adventurous and totally delicious
K. M.
Chill place with good vibes, always busy, good beer.
F. M.
I had a dish which included cauliflower leaves. They were drastically undercooked to the point I couldn't cut them with my knife or bite through them. There's Al dente and there's almost raw. The rest of the dish was delicious although
A. B.
One of Glasgows atmospheric venues. Vegan food restaurant bar upstairs. Electic cellar venue with stage and bar.
B.
Easy going bar. Reasonable beer on tap, more choice in fridge. Occasionaly pretentious crowd, but staff are cool.
E. J.
Totally amazing vegan food. Maybe the best?
D. M.
Late night bar with outstanding staff.
T. B.
Food was good in the cafe and the staff were lovely. However, the venue is tired and very grubby
M. G.
Great food for an affordable price. Nice place with an industrial and trendy spirit.
e. S.
Great place, cheap drinks and loved finding the live music downstairs
j. m.
Was there for a concert. Brilliant venue, authentic, well run. Recommended for a good night out.
S. S.
Great vegan place to be in.
J. F.
Amazing vegan food (Buffalo cauliflower and carrot lox on rye particular highlight) and great club downstairs
C. G.
Saw some reviews about bad service but our experience couldn't have been better!! We went on a very busy Saturday night and our server was extremely polite and even humoured our excessive chips order (we like chips). Food was quickly made and so fresh and hot.
Great tasting food - houmous and cauliflower wings were excellent. Pepperoni pizza was huge and very flavourful. Seitan and lentil burger was fantastic, great combination of flavours and seasoning. One of the best vegan meals out we've ever had. Highly recommended.
K. P.
Visited this place 3 times while in Glasgow and can’t wait to go back. Entirely vegan menu and gluten free options also available. The vegan mince and tatties is a must. Great selection of beverages. Place can get very busy so try booking in advance. Super friendly staff.
p. j.
Good vibes, crazy vegan options and a good location
R. B.
This is a lively, loud (due to so many conversations) restaurant serving only vegan food. It's somewhat trendy and is pleasant enough. It's very handy for Glasgow Central station.
The food is tasty, or the main courses were anyway. My hazelnut, avocado & like cheesecake though was very bland and needed much more lime to give it a little zing. The. Pizzas are brilliant. Coffee is fine but any milk is soya not real milk and as such it will curdle in the coffee so stir it often or it will look awful.
It's good value for a UK restaurant. Our meal for 3, 2 had alcohol & coffee, 1 had a sweet, none had starters, came to £50.48
The seating & tables are all very basic or rustic if you prefer but then it calls itself a bar which does food which is pretty accurate.
I'd be happy to go back there but its clientele are somewhat younger than I.
G. P.
Nice bar with tasty vegan food. The staff is friendly and the food is affordable. Thank you !
A. S.
I went for lunch here with a friend and it was lovely. The music is maybe a little loud (makes it harder to hear people in conversations) but it's a nice place, it has a relaxing atmosphere and the staff are very friendly and attentive.
The menu has plenty of options, everything is reasonably priced and you get well sized, filling meals. We didn't have to wait long on our food and the food itself was really nice.
It's definitely worth visiting, I'm looking forward to going back sometime. I'm impressed. :)
B. N.
Amazing vegan food and alcohol with cool events and friendly staff. Love Push It, should happen more often, great music and lovely people. Highly recommend their desserts as well as soup and half a sandwich deals, never disappoints.
D. S.
Drink selection is good, the atmosphere is cool and the food is very tasty. As a vegan restaurant I didn't have to worry any egg which actually do for veggie places. Had a good evening with friends
L. M.
A great place to see great acts!
i. k. a.
Super cosy amazing stuff on the menu and great beer even for gluten intolerant peeeople!!
C. P.
Dive of a club but intimate setting.
Bar has some solid good options! Amazing selection for such a small venue
A. K.
Tasty vegetarian food, reasonable prices, casual and relaxed atmosphere.
J. R.
Nice bar, restaurant hidden away in an alley in front of Central Station. Good selection of wines and beers with vegetarian/vegan options on the menu. Concert venue in the basement. Don't be put off by the insalubrious exterior as the staff are friendly and the service good. Look out got their cocktail offers.
L. S.
Great selection of food including vegan takes on meat dishes, and a good choice of beers. It's justifiably busy so best to book if you're a group, although the staff seem happy to rearrange things to squeeze you in!
D. T.
A well hidden vegan gem of the city. Its located down a side street/alleyway. I absolutely recommend the buffalo cauliflower. There is no need to worry if you are sticking to a new years resolution in Stereo the whole menu is vegan even the drinks behind the bar so don't expect a Jack Daniels. Downstairs is a large gig venue where local bands play and all the staff are friendly. Drink is moderately priced.
D. R.
REALLY GOOD food. I had gnocchi with pesto and fennel, and it was delicious. Full of flavour, great texture to the gnocchi. The gnocchi seemed to have been pan fried so they had some crispier edges, which was nice (they were not all mushy at all, they were beautiful). The pesto tasted fresh and the flavour combinations with the pesto and fennel (and rocket) were mature and enjoyable!
B. B.
This place had plenty of options for vegetarians and vegans (neither of which apply to me but still great to note!) If nothing else, come here for a beer and some Buffalo Cauliflower. Get two orders if you're going to share - you don't realize how much you're going to like it until your first bite!
Definitely a cool spot with easy seating for a casual night out!
L. C.
:: 100% vegan menu :: Amazing staff, went with my vegan sister as she loves this place. Had the Stereo burger which was very interesting and incredibly nice! Keep it up, love the feel.
S. A.
Really cool atmosphere and great food. Tucked in an alley near Glasgow Central - perfect for stopping at when coming and going from the city. We had the AMAZING mac and cheese and a delicious daily special (gnocchi). Huge list of beers and some ciders - loved this place and will definitely be back!
S. C.
Great place. Friendly and helpful staff. The foods yummy. And the music venue downstairs is one of my favourites in Glasgow. It does get super busy though. Was there on a Friday night and it's hard to get a drink at the bar or find somewhere to stand if you haven't got a table booked. Some of the seats are such that you'll have people squeezing past you which bothers me personally.
A. O.
Just love stereo. Very friendly staff and very tasty vegan food. Glad I work locally do I get to enjoy frequently! Less reading of reviews and get yer arse onto a seat in the dining area at stereo!
D. S.
Good vegetarian and vegan menu, all drinks are also vegetarian vegan .
Service usually good too.
Bohemian atmosphere is very appealing.
We have seen all ages enjoying their meals.
c. m. b. d.
Great wee venue, look forward to its return after this lockdown is over
B. B.
Great live music venue. Friendly staff and reasonably priced drinks with a decent selection.
Haven't tried the food, looks/smells nice from what I've seen/smelt but it is limited to only vegan options - not that that's a bad thing but know what to expect!
A. S.
I've got to say I'm probably the last person to be seen in a vegan restaurant but I really enjoyed myself. The food was delicous, the staff were friendly and the selection of drinks were good.
I would never become a vegan for many reasons, but I enjoy diversity and this is a place I would visit again.
C. W.
First visit to Stereo but certainly not my last. Although the dining area is a bit dark and rather basic the menu and food is anything but. I had the fish and chips - in gorgeous sourdough batter - and my young, nonvegan friend had sour dough pizza which she said was delicious. Staff couldn't have been friendlier and our young male server (sorry I don't know his name) was very informative about the menu and went as far as to go to the kitchen to bring out some parmesan cheese to show us so I could try and find it somewhere. What a great find👏👍
B. W.
Alternative music venue and vegan friendly eating place. No frills as catering for a younger indie student muse vibe, which it does successfully. Downside for me personally was being charged £5.25 for a 330ml bottle of gluten free beer (which to be fair, they had 3 choices, when last time I was in they had none). 'I don't set the prices' replied the server through his fringe.
L. R.
Fantastic vegan food with a great selection of local beers. Didn't get the chance to go to a gig put really enjoyed the place. We got a table ok but it's a busy place and maybe worth booking.
B.
AMAZING vegan food, huge choice of drinks, lovely staff. Wished we weren't only visiting Glasgow for the weekend because we'd probably come here all the time if we were local. So many upcoming gigs we'd have wanted to see
J. M.
Great place - even locating it down the slightly dodgy-looking backstreet is fun! Excellent food, drinks, service and atmosphere - just like Mono nearby. The two sister establishments have noticeably different menus, tho, and both are worth checking out in their own right. Here at Stereo I sampled (with some initial trepidation, it has to be said) the "haggis pizza". I need not have worried - it was delicious, as was everything else. Establishments such as these are reinventing veganism, and are deservedly successful. Highly recommended!
A. G.
Had potatoes dauphinois for a side, mushroom pasta and fish and chips for main and a blueberry cheesecake.
All food was very food and interesting. I loved the selection of soft drinks. The vibe of this place was very nice, I enjoyed my time spent there and the staff was friendly.
S. H.
Good selection of beers and spirits, reasonably priced. Bar staff pretty good at keeping your wait to a minimum.
Only wish there was something more to advertise this was the original Daily Record building.
Nice wee bar in a quiet wee lane
P. S.
Great live music venue - small old school with great atmosphere and cheap drink
N. S.
Tremendous vegan food, booze, alternative/indie music hangout, one of the best if you're into any of the aforementioned. Highly recommended, great gigs happen here as well, in an iconic hidden Mackintosh building.
D. G.
One of the best places to get a good bite in the city centre, despite what one review said the vegan hand made pizza is only pricey if you would rather eat processed cheese from a 5 in 1 in the schemes. Great range of sandwiches, mains, sides and tapas.
S. T.
I would give the bar upstairs 4 stars as it's pretty cool, hosts a range of different ages, and has a nice atmosphere. The club section downstairs was slightly disappointing however, a bit in the small side and the DJ (on a Friday night) was ok, not great. I still had a good time though and could be better another night!
C. M.
Usually a bit too crowded for my liking coupled a limited selection of lager (charded at the 4/5 pound mark) makes this one of the least favourite pubs I frequent. It is however one of the few places that caters for the vegan crowd and the food is decent enough. Feels a lot like a bar for mature students but its talent for securing quality musical acts means it's an eventual destination for the up and comers of the Glasgow music scene.
R. M.
We visited stereo on a very busy weekend, unfortunately there were a number of things not available due to this, however staff were helpful and there was still plenty available.
The entire menu is plant based, however still named as they would be elsewhere which can feel a little alien. We ordered a meat feast pizza, jackfruit fish and chips, buffalo wings with ranch dressing, and seitan burger.
All were delicious and the staff were accommodating when I asked to order just ice cream for a children's dessert. Prices were average for city eating.
M. Ż.
Interesting vegan options in menu, bood beer
L. N.
From the atmosphere to the food to the style and the ambiance this place is an absolute win in every way. The staff was knowledgeable, courteous and service was prompt. We were very impressed with the menu and returned several times rather than try other places while on holiday. I cannot rave enough about Stereo.
M. G.
The vegan menu is full of variety and very delicious. We had the soup of the day, gnocchi and a tempeh sandwich. The gnocchi were spring-ish fresh, the sandwich with vegan cheese was rich in a positive way (loads of umami) and the soup herbal and fruity. Can't argue with that - the dishes convinced us at the fullest. Also the vegan cheesecake was fantastic, very creamy and flavorful. Just keep in mind it is a very lively bar. So it's rather noisy, but I actually liked the flair a lot.
G. S.
Great place to see a band and a great place to play as a band.
E. C.
Friendly, welcoming and helpful staff. Very cool venue and with lots of character - one of my favourites. The vegan cafe above is also a must try for those in Glasgow keen for good scran.
F. L.
One of the best places to go and grab some drinks! Food's nice too, and vegan!!
S. B.
Great atmosphere, the sound was amazing, l would highly recommend going to a gig here
G. H.
Always have a great experience here. Delicious, inventive vegan food and a cool, casual atmosphere. Always nice but relaxed staff and good music. Great place for dinner, drink or a gig.
N. B.
Probably our favourite vegan place in Glasgow. The food is always fab, the staff are friendly, the atmosphere is enjoyable (if sometimes a bit on the loud side). We often take guests here to show off Glasgow's vegan scene.
G. J.
Vegan food, good beers, former newspaper office designed by Charles Rennie Macintosh. Bagel with mac n cheese balls and gochujang ketchup was excellent with a Lightbulb extra pale ale!
M. M.
Food and service today was fabulous, sesame tomato ramen, I thoroughly recommend
We will definitely be returning
M. T.
fantastic atmosphere, great crowd and interesting music I always have good time partying
S. Q.
Went out for a meal here 'cause vegans and all. It was good food but very busy. Definitely recommend booking a table prior to arriving though. Staff were very friendly as well. We ended up just waiting a wee bit for a table but it was worth it.
N. G.
Awesome place, amazing food, friendly staff! Thank you!
S. B.
Stereo have proper upped their game lately with the food. What a transformation in their menu, it's totally up there with Mono and 78 level now. Thoroughly enjoyed my food there. They've also made it a bit cosier and nicer to sit in. Well done stereo, looking forward to my next visit 🌱👌 …
S.
Been a few times for live music, great variety of genres played downstairs.
Known for its vegan dishes, had a blackbean burrito and tasted a vegitable tika. Both were good although the black beans could have used a little sauce to wet them.
I had my first coffee (cappuccino) with oat milk, man that was the best coffee I've had to date. So creamy.
V. P.
Lovely Vegan/Vegetarian food. Great place to go eat before a gig. Helpful staff, great drinks selection, kitch interior. Hidden gem in the center of town!
B. W.
Amazing food, friendly and helpful staff and a really relaxed and not too formal atmosphere. Recommend for lunch, dinner and drinks! Actually... Don't go! Or I won't be able to get a table next time!!
R. D.
Enjoyed the experience and a superb mushroom and hazelnut winter pie, but disappointed with my partner's burger. It was very busy and a good atmosphere, with staff still efficient and welcoming. A slightly disconcerting walk down the alley to the entrance, but all doubts disappeared when we entered. Will be going back and undoubtedly taking others with us.
L. A.
Nice mellow atmosphere. Good variety on the menu and dishes of the day. The dessert of the day is usually great.
H. P. M.
Great vegan food and live music venue
M. J.
As usual a very good experience. My salad without dressing was delicious, light and well within my weight loss plan. How did they manage to get a confirmed beetroot hater to enjoy a salad that featured beetroot?
W. D.
Great food, friendly staff in a central location, can't go wrong.
A.
Good vegan menu. Friendly staff. Very central. Great venue for gigs downstairs but could do with a brush of paint. I think it needs more atmosphere.
T. O.
Everytime I have been here, it's been a night to remember. Whether testing some of the fine selection of drinks with friends or seeing a gig. The gig area is perfect for those seeking a more intimate experience with a bar very close to the action.
A. M.
Great place with great food and atmosphere. I actually arrived as the kitchen was closing yet they still accommodated me and my particular diet. Very grateful. Friendly staff,
B.
It was really nice, the food was tasty and the staff were friendly. The sticky cauliflower wings were amazing. Only downside was the bathroom looked a bit scruffy and was a bit chilly.
A. E.
One of my favourite places to eat in Glasgow, the food is delicious. The cauliflower on the tapa menu is amazing I would highly recommend it. Great service, fast and friendly staff. Great place just to sit and have a beer as well.
C. M.
Boasting a huge menu of vegetarian and vegan dishes, we couldn't wait to try this place out for dinner. It was really busy when we arrived but the staff were really friendly and managed to squeeze us in. We ordered a veggie burger with a side of vine leaves, sweet potato wedges and polenta fries which all tasted delicious. The only downside was when we asked for a box to take our leftovers away, the waiter dropped the food on the floor and he said he'd take it off the bill but never did.
K. C.
I'm not vegan but I would come here regularly! the food is fantastic and there is a friendly atmosphere. it is usually pretty busy so get in early or book a table
d. d.
Visited Stereo for a gig downstairs. The bar restaurant area was very busy and appears to offer Vegan food with a great selection of beers and drinks. The gig area is ok however, seating is very limited and on each side of the stage along the wall. Toilets weren't great and parking is "on road" nearby if you can get a space. Overall was a ok venue to see live music.
S. G.
Stopped here for lunch during a day trip to Glasgow. It's a great building and the food was delicious. I recommend the vegan haggis and balsamic onion pizza.
W. L.
Great place for food. We had a lunch with the family here and we all liked the food we ate. The staff was friendly and helpful. Also the food was brought to the table quite fast which was great for our busy schedules.
M.
Really excellent food in a good location in the centre of town. Staff were friendly even though it's always busy. Note the tapas deal on Mondays is a good way to sample many different dishes.
A. B.
Stereo has an eclectic and inventive vegan menu. Many vegan restaurants are both vegan and healthy, which gets boring. Stereo gives you a wide range of healthy and junky options and pull everything off with success. A huge bonus of Stereo is that after dinner you can head downstairs and see some live music.
D. K.
Delicious vegan food! The buffalo cauliflower wings are truly world class.
If you're a hefeweizen lover, get the Maisel Weiss.
Tips only accepted in cash. If you want to tip, carry some cash.
L. W.
Consistently great food (I'm not vegan). The mezze platters (gluten free option available) are huge and delicious. They do both the best potato chips and the best polenta chips I have ever tasted, and their hoummous is fab too.
K. I.
Best meal we ever had! Fabulous food, excellent service, and so wonderful to be able to order anything on the menu 😁 Even as a ridiculously fussy almost vegan! …
E. M.
Went here for a date on a Saturday night. Absolutely mobbed but a really nice atmosphere and wasn't too loud. Staff were really friendly too! Great place for just a drink or a date
B. P.
Stereo is a great and somewhat hidden vegetarian restaurant. The portions were quite big and prices were good. The pulled pork is great when you don't think of it as pulled pork :) a great atmosphere is included and the staff is super friendly.
M. S.
Good beers and brilliant venue so central but so quiet you'd think you were the only person who knew about it.
J. V.
I don't know there is much to say about Stereo. One would imagine that for Vegan diners the quality of food is quite high, however as someone not needing all dairy removed there is a noticeable drop in dishes and prices are at a novelty high.
However, as a bar Stereo is quite good, that is I should say until my recent trip. My partner ordered a dark and stormy. It's a nice drink, fun to receive, the layers always look great. However the bar has banned straws. We asked for one, mostly to stir the drink we just got, no was the answer (actually I got a much more arsey sermon on degradation but hey ho?). So... Maybe don't serve layered drinks then? Could we have a spoon. I'll see was the answer. 3 minutes or so later the spoon showed up.
Now I'm all for saving the environment, I really am, but don't get arsey with customers when they need straws or something to stir the layered drink YOU made. If you're not willing to service the customer, take the drink off your menu.
A. M.
Seems like a great place. But I'm not in Glasgow much so can't compare with similar places. Beer hugely expensive at £6.80ish per pint. Be aware of this when it's your round!
B. A.
Saw Extc a fantastic night the Venue was just great up close and personal the sound was amazing all in all a fab evening
s. m.
Good vegan food. Interesting place. The wait staff were very nice, and tried everything to seat us comfortably even though the place was packed.
N. M.
Firstly the staff were pleasant and accommodating, the vibe nice enough I'll be honest, the food was pretty underwhelming and unimaginative tbh, just the same run of the mill lackluster attempt by westerners to try and turn western food vegan. I don't like to criticise without at least giving some help to improve so...
The best vegan/vegetarian food I've had is from the The Hare Krishna Temple in Lesmahagow, they make beautiful vegan food and bless it and call it prasadam, finer food you cannot get. If you wanna start making more authentic vegan/vegetarian food that's as special for a vegan as a steak is to an ignorant carnivore, maybe take a look at a book called The Higher Taste based on the teachings of his devine grace A. C. Bhaktivedanta Swami Prabhupada. You can get from the Bhaktivedanta Book Trust. I'm sure they have many books on cookery which will be a true eduction. It's a good start. Peace ✌️
J. L.
Stereo is found down the kind of alleyway where Batman’s Parents met their doom... however don’t let this scare you off from one of Glasgow’s too Vegan eatery’s (at time of writing!!)
I highly recommend everything on the menu, having visited enough to give everything a try at least once, and the staff at this restaurant are always able to answer questions regarding ingredients, their use and their source.
A must visit place on any Glaswegian Vegan journey.
L. G.
Great choice of vegan meals and a wide range of beers. Cheap, high quality, and very queer-friendly. Frequent live performances.
D. F.
Fabulous vegan food. The flavours that the chef conjures up are out of this world. The atmosphere of the restaurant is relaxed and friendly.
R. H.
Lovely atmosphere, friendly staff, yummy food (with good size portions to boot)!
S.
Super cool, hidden in an alley and wroth finding! The vegan burgers are amazing!
r. d.
Excellent atmosphere small gig down stairs would recommend for intimate one on one with the band can't wait to go again
D. F.
Here I had one of the best nights in my life during the party PUSH IT tribute to Britney Spears, cause the energy of the place was incredible, everyone was excited and comfortable. The venue also works as a restaurant, so you can come over early in the night with friends, hang out, have dinner and then remain until the party starts at the lower floor.
J. H.
Tofu burger was the best tofu I've had
J. R.
Nice food at a reasonable price.
D. D.
Been here a few times and it's generally not bad for a drink. Certain drinks are overpriced though, even the staff agreed! Had food once and it was pretty poor, pizza with no cheese and pickled onions! The food at the 78 (another similar vibe vegan place) in finnieston is way better.
P. L.
Decent beers and OK sound in the basement concert venue. Bar is really busy between bands but not ridiculous. The upstairs bit looked pretty busy, I wouldn't choose to go there.
A. W.
The food was delicious, big portions and a good variety to choose from. Friendly staff, rustic decor and funky music. Slightly off the beaten path so perhaps a little tricky to find if you don't know where you're going but pretty hard to critisise otherwise.
L. M.
Cosy bar in a back street in Glasgow. Friendly staff, vegan food, LGBT friendly. Good beer options. Didnt eat here but the menu looks creative
C. G.
We had diner for two. The service, food and atmosphere were all good. Excellent value for money. Healthy and delicious food. Would recommend!
S. H.
Loud and cramped, however lovely staff and lively atmosphere. Wish they had a larger selection of food but I understand they are more focused on being a bar and a venue.
S. W.
I've been here for lunch, drinks and for live music. All 3 occasions have been great. Really good food for reasonable prices. I didn't leave hungry!
K. B.
The "jackfish and chips" is an excellent cheat day meal with the perfect chips and tartare. Even though the outside could be made a bit more visible the place itself has a great atmosphere.
S. K.
I like it in here, bar staff are friendly and helpful, foods worth the money and the music venue is really intimate. Should be on your Glasgow bucket list if you like your music or finding needles in haystacks.
A. K.
Buffaloes cauliflower was great!
c.
Helpful attentive staff, always a nice atmosphere where you can have conversation. Great drinks! Love it. Great food too!!
S. M. Y.
Great place. Their buffalo cauliflower is lovely. Best vegan joint in town.
A. s. A.
One of the best underground clubs in Glasgow for sure!! A diverse club that caters for all tastes from rock to Durtty teknoin the bassment, with a great bar & food menu upstairs with brill staff, & generally nice happy people set on having a good time!!! Get some!!!!
J. F.
I've only been to eat. The food is lovely, its really central and the staff are friendly. It would be a 5 but from memory I think the toilet could do with a bit of attention
c. m.
Great wee intimate gig venue with a good selection of beers.
C. S. (.
A classic vegan establishment, great food that is different from its sister venues but just as tasty. Expect city centre booze prices.
G. C.
Quality venue for this band...except for the pillar behind Ally all night 🤣 …
D. H.
Not a bad place for food, drink and coffee. The only down side is that they get really busy and then ask if you have reservations... It isn't exactly the sort of place that merits having to book a table.
A. A.
Went for the first time last Saturday, and was very impressed. The food was fantastic, service was efficient and the atmosphere was relaxed and friendly.
The drinks were a bit over priced, and the choice wasn't great but the overall experience was excellent.
A. S.
Nice venue, not a great view of the stage.
M. C.
EXTC brilliant. Especially Generals and Majors.
B. G.
Lovely, chilled atmosphere, great food. We had lasagne and the jack fruit quesadillas, you'd forget there was nothing even vaguely animal based on the menu
J. G.
All vegan. Beer pretty expensive for run of the mill pints. Pizza below average, fish and chips above average. Crumble dessert delicious.
A. T.
Like this Bar during the day and it's even better at night. The food here could be a bit more extensive I think there is a lack of choice but this food is worth a try
E. R.
So glad to be back! Stereo always has a great atmosphere and drinks are good price too!
H. S.
Really cool venue but the boys doing the live set could have been better x
K. V.
Seems to have lost its spark. Pizza was ok but lacked the rosemary and garlic it was supposed to have. Hot fudge sundae topping wasn't hot or fudgy at all and disappointed.
S. R.
Original and exciting vegan food. So great to be able to eat everything on the menu. Very reasonable prices too.
P. G.
Cracking vegan food, great range of beer and brilliant venue for gigs in an old Mackintosh building. Try The Old Hairdressers across the lane for a bit of shabby chic.
P. P.
Just had an absolutely phenomenal vegan meal here - shared a pizza, the jackfish and chips and cauliflower wings. 💯 …
S. R.
Great relaxed spot for a coffee, drinks and / or food. We only hand drinks. but I'd definitely come back and the food looked tasty (the soup and sandwiches especially).
J. M. N.
Cool, I felt like I was in Warsaw, Berlin or Prague in the 1980s, just awaiting Ewan McGregor or Charlize Theron aka Atomic Blonde, to turn up. A great addition to Glasgows culture rich array
M. H.
Watched a movie upstairs. Great fun! Good vibe from the place👍 …
C. S.
Lots of people on a Friday night fill this place. With the second venue downstairs, expect your feet to vibrate. Decor is very spartan and draught selection a bit light, but bottled beer options are numerous. Note that this place can get loud...to the point of not being able to even have a conversation!
C. M.
All the makings of a great wee venue; a back-street, subterranean cavern with a decent range of drinks and decen acoustics. But damn that concrete pillar. Something needs to keep upstairs from falling down but it means seeing the band isn't always the easiest. Not recommended for the very small.
W. P.
Really exceptional creative vegan food in a great environment.
E. M.
The bagel was absolutely exquisite
A. M.
Great Vegan Food, not the most exciting menu. But a great atmosphere and friendly staff. Very well priced!
P. K.
During lunchtime, one of my favourite vegan eateries in Glasgow. In the evening, good gig venue and bar with good selection of bottled beers.
b. h.
Great music venue and the food was not bad, all vegan. Slightly overpriced for my taste especially the IPAs.
M. S.
Always a nice vibe, good venue and nice upstairs bar. Wish they did more craft beers but always a nice spot to relax in at any time
N. D.
Amazing bar
1. Food for VEGAN lovers.
2. Vegetarian food only
3. Good options in food
4. Budget friendly for 2 _ approx 20 to 25 GBP
J.
Excellent location. Glasgow is a real center for vegetarian food, Stereo is one of the fine Glasgow Vegetarian restaurants that you have to visit if visiting the city
G. W.
Great food and staff. Causal laid back atmosphere. Great vegan food, will go back if in Glasgow again.
I. J.
Had a very nice vegan lunch here on a Saturday afternoon. Was quite busy, but had a drink while we were waiting.
V. A.
Great vegan food and welcoming atmosphere. Staff were great but book as it gets really busy
M. G.
Good venue- went here for a gig in the basement area. Restaurant menu looks interesting - will probably go back to try the food
L. D.
Lovely vegan food. Nice atmosphere. Also has a great space for gigs.
T. K.
Beautiful place and people :)
J. D. (.
Good beer and cider selection 😊 …
S.
An alright place to stop by. Once I went there the music wasn't overwhelming so friends and I could chat and hear each other. Since then it's been too loud really to talk without needing to shout. And to make it worse the music that was taking over was at times quite terrible.
Plus the even louder noise from downstairs mixed with the music in the bar! Sort it out!
Lastly, we were allowed to buy a round of drinks 5 minutes before close so we assumed it would close 'around about' whenever the close time was. But we were pretty much forced out and had to just leave out near full drinks or down them. Waste.
K. B.
Gig was amazing! Went for food in the cafe, staff were a bit weird and made us feel rushed. Would go back to the venue but not the bar and cafe bit 🍻 …
A. C.
Food was amazing. The restaurant was cold and uncomfortable though.
J. s.
The food is great but although the menu says all food can be takeaway but only before 5pm,which there is no mention of on the website.
c. c.
Great venue for live music. It's been a while since I've eaten there but great food
j. m.
First gig back after lockdown. Was well organised and felt safe inside. Glad to be back.
B. Z.
Great food, great place to chill. Gender neutral toilets!
A bit pricey though. But worth it.
T. M.
Great food and vibe
Would definitely return with a non vegan friend. I think they would be impressed.
A. K.
Good venue for drinks and catch up. Particularly popular with young crowd.
r. g.
Great venue. Great sound. Alcohol to drink.
J. W.
Great good, great atmosphere, friendly service.
C. M.
Favourite place for Vegan food in glasgow! Really popular at weekends so book in advance.
s. r.
Delicious food, friendly staff, good atmosphere. Will definitely visit again next time I'm in Glasgow
P. S.
Shabby but adorable hipstery bar with distressed (or maybe just old) interior and furnishings. Attracts a electic crowd of arty types. Always a good atmosphere.
A. S.
Loved the pizza, it was probably the best pizza that I've had. I'm not a fan of seitan, but an exception is worth it for this place.
C. M.
Was only here for a few drinks, but any bar that serves Birds and Bees is a winner in my eyes, nice atmosphere too, even though it is down a scary stabby looking alley!
P. S.
Great ambiance. Lovely staff. Excellent food
T. G.
We had some amazingly delicious food here. I don't know which one I prefer, Stereo or Mono. Both were delightful.
L. W.
Literally the best plant based restaurant we have been to. Great staff, great food incredible experience
B. O.
Amazing vegan food!
E. C.
Excellent food, good environment. Fairly prompt service. Tables tend to be a touch small for larger groups.
F. M.
Excellent food, friendly staff and a nice little venue downstairs. Would definitely go back :)
D. A. G.
I had a great lunch here. It's super casual and relaxed but the food is still great.
A. S.
Very modest title to be the best vegan restaurant in Glasgow. Amazing and creative food and solid service.
A. C.
I went to Stereo for what turned out to be the 2nd best gig I've ever been to, but when I emerged from the basement I found that I'd been missing drag bingo. I was heartbroken.
R. M.
Food was delicious. Although was a bit disappointed when the waitress couldn't tell me what half the things in the menu were.
S. M.
Cool bar down the lane. Never been before & was a good experience. Chilled & good selection of drinks.
A. O.
Great music venue with decent selection of beers. Food is vegan and ok. Staff are great.
D. W.
Cool bar/restaurant with super friendly staff. Great food well worth the slightly slow service. All in all a well worth a visit.
T. P.
Not bad, normally would drink somewhere else but there was an event on and it was pretty lit so will maybe come back if I'm in town again 🙂 …
C. C.
Great bar and food as well as a fun music venue. Super vegan friendly!
R.
Great vegan and vegetarian options for food plus a great place just to have a pint or two.
I. M.
Great veggie place to eat. Find it hard to get by the soup and sandwich option. So good
J. G.
This is great vegetarian food. Fast, friendly. But could do with a good clean up inside.
C. M.
The Squints gig on Saturday 👍👍👍 …
N. R. G.
Nice service, amazing cocktails and food
M. H.

Contains a variety of programs, including a cafe/bar and basement venue perfect for a small ceilidh. Well staffed
E. O.
Delicious vegan food, even left a lasting impression on my non-vegan family. Buzzing atmosphere, full of people and popular.

Difficult to get seats, missed out on food due to it and very noisey - hinders convos. Great venue downstairs for music though
F. M.
Good food - whether you are vegan or not. Friendly helpful staff.
X. M.
Good beer, good food - great venue downstairs for gigs, fairly centrally located - really liked it

The food and service are both excellent. We go there fairly often as we both enjoy every visit.
A. H. T.
Great little relaxed club and bar. Cool atmosphere. Surprisingly good sound downstairs.
S. M.
As good as Mono I think. I need to go back so I can eat everything off the menu. The beer selection is also good.

J. N.
Quite trendy and busy, had jack fish and chips, was nice. Not mind blowing but nice!

One of my favorite places food wise, decor as someone already said on here- tad spartan, can get too loud at times but the food is worth it- my meat eating friends are over the moon with it.

Alternative place for a good food, drinks and live music.

Too noisy, it needs better sound insulation.

Vegan. Good beers. Somewhat expensive. Great live music venue.
