Fantastic place. Went there for Glasgow jazz festival, totally enjoyed it. Staff is nice and friendly. Try their own beer called Swing.

Best to book ahead if you want a table. Small venue which makes it all the better. Wherever you get a seat you will get a good view. Excellent array of drinks and service from staff was good. Music I believe starts on the hour at maybe 8pm and 10pm and then a late show. Music was very good too the evening I was there, a Saturday. Highly recommended.

You must check this place out. From the minute you arrive you are greeted by a friendly doorman and then escorted down to your table by the host himself (best to book your table in advance).
Now your night begins. The staff are so friendly and could not do enough for their customers. The musicians are all so talented, and we were not disappointed. You will be sure to stay here all night long because the atmosphere is amazing.... Five stars from us.

Lovely place for a unique cozy and relaxed evening. Great shows and amazing staff. I really actually feel at home when I visit swing, i visit probably every few months or so and always feel really welcome. The owners are really warm and welcoming folk and apart from that you can really tell they have a deep passion for talented people who perform there. I've also played a gig with a line up there and was well treated. Absolute gem of a place. Hope to see you guys soon! Gav.

First time going to a swing/jazz bar and it did not disappoint! Atmosphere was fantastic by transporting you back in time with the decor. Different bands play each night with different sounds, so check online to see what's happening. Free entry however there is a £10 booking fee per person if you want to have a table.

Imagine yourself back in the roaring 20s. A speakeasy, full of random individuals who aim for the evening is to enjoy themselves and celebrate life. Success!
Never heard of Swing or even knew of it's existence. Tucked away at the top of Hope Street, in Glasgow's City Centre, it is well worth a visit.
Staff are friendly and welcoming, seating is cosy and adds to the whole experience.
The entertainment was superb, with a range of performers covering jazz and blue standards, yet creating "blues" style versions of better known chart songs.
Highlight of the evening was an elaborate performance by a variety act. Who knew you could girate and wiggle with five hoops at the same time and chew gum. A-may-zing!
Recommend a trip to this club, dancing ,singing and comic entertainment and that was just at our table. Great night out, will be back.

Met some of our new friends, including Kenny the amazing drummer, and Dennis on vocals, with Fraser John Lindsay on guitar. Many other top talents came to sit in to play the blues on Thursday. Great show in an intimate atmosphere. Jazz on other nights.

Absolutely loved this place! Great music, fantastic cocktails and whiskies, amazing atmosphere. The staff is really friendly and would go above and beyond to make you feel welcomed. Ended up going 3 nights in a row whilst in Glasgow. Highly recommend for a unique experience in Glasgow!

We paid £10 at the entrance...and haven't regretted... Great atmosphere! People of all ages dancing. Not a huge selection of cocktails, but cocktails are very nice! Great music and atmosphere! Staff also amazing

Loved it! I'd have given 5 stars, however the management did nothing about a very noisy table of girls who could be heard over the singer's and musicians. I feel they could have asked them to keep their chatting down to a respectable level, or leave. Apart from that we enjoyed it and will return.

Fantastic wee place tucked away on Hope Street- went for the Thursday night Blues Jam session and was really impressed by the standard of playing.
Gorgeous decor, and very cosy feel to the club. Staff were lovely and friendly, too. Mixed age range of clientele made it a good place to go for all age groups.
Planning on going back on a Friday/Saturday night to try out the entertainment offered then.
Feel like I have found a hidden gem, and would highly recommend a visit!

Quite pricey compared to other jazz bars I've been to (£5 for a pint, £8 for a cocktail), intimate venue though. Main issue I found was that it's less about music and more about social, people talking very loudly over live band. £7 entry fee on a Saturday, £5 on a Friday.

A sort of blues open mic night where various musicians got on stage for a jam. Some of the standard of musician was incredible, and the girl singing and playing the bass was brilliant. A great night to be honest, my only criticism would be the small venue meant standing room only for a while... But I can't deduct a star for that; the small venue also adds to the intimacy of the gig.

5 stars is a rarity. But this place genuinely deserves it. Live music is always on point. The most friendliest bar staff. You can even spot the management floating about greeting people making sure everyone is ok. It is by far the cleanest club I have ever been in. This place is a true gem of Glasgow.

Incredible. I went today for the first time. LOVED CHARLOTTE MARCHALL. Well, all the musicians in general were great. The acoustic of the club is really good as well. I got a new favourite place today
D. B.
Great wee intimate smart underground (literally) jazz (but not only) bar/venue, with good cocktails (Espresso Martini being my favourite!). Various performances (music & dance) on offer and really good professional service/staff, particularly the manager!😊

Had a great time last night. Old World News on top form. Dancing and singing the night away . Bar staff friendly and attentive. If you haven't been yet your are missing out.

Great atmosphere,in basement speakeasy type jazz club.Thursday night is blues jam night join in the fun 9.00pm-1130 pm. Free entry. Great selection of beers , spirits and cocktails.

A fun night oot but don’t expect any ‘swing’. It was straight eighths all night albeit well played. Also avoid the table placed directly behind a pillar. All you can see is your partner’s disappointed face..
K. S.
Really nice vintage venue - great live music and a show on a Saturday night and the staff are all really friendly (they were great at accommodating our group of 9). The decor is superb as well.
B. R.
Would highly recommend this venue, the staff were excellent and the cocktails were great! Not to forget the music, which was also very entertaining. I shall be back.

Myself and my girlfriend went here for the Glasgow jazz festival. £7 cover charge on the door and drinks are more on the expensive side but the atmosphere more than makes up for it!
A. B.
My regret is missing the aerial performance! Loved the DaCapo daughters and those delicious cocktails
G. C.
Really friendly, lovely bar. Went here with a group of friends and the barstaff managed to rearrange tables to find us a table together. Great live music too.
G. M.
This underground bar has a great look & feel. Excellent service & thoroughly enjoyable live improvised music! (Thursday evening)

This is my latest discovery. If you like good jazz and a good old-fashioned dance, come here you will enjoy it from the first minute. The location of the place and great service adds to the whole experience.

If you're out in Glasgow, GO TO SWING!!!
I have been going to Swing for years, there's hundreds of good reasons for this. Be it Scotty behind the bar mixing me an absolutely stunning cocktail or Craig (one of the owners) taking time out of his busy schedule to come and say "hi," I just always feel like a valued customer every time I go in.
The performers are amazing (if the Shiverin' Sheiks" are playing you have got to go in) and the music is always perfect for the mood.
It's got a nice "basement bar" feeling without feeling dirty or slummy.
As an ex-professional bartender, I seriously can't recommend this place enough!
Be it a private party, staff/corporate night out or a wedding reception, they seem to have the ability to cope with everything.
Go here if you have the chance; you will enjoy it more than I can describe with words.
