Lovely cosy atmosphere and really friendly, helpful staff! Drinks are well priced and the candle light is really charming. Would have been great if they served food - they seem to only have a few nibbles available each day and had run out when we went.

Quality menu and food to match. Small pub but friendly atmosphere and dog friendly which is always a bonus. All the food was served relatively quick and good portion sizes. Would definitely return to work through the rest of the menu as I could have had any of it! I went for KFC burger and buffalo fries with my partner going for Buffalo strips and vietnamese fries (they accidentally did vietnamese strips which we were given for free).

Lovely atmosphere. Cosy, a bit of vintage vibes with French chandeliers. Moretti available on tap. Good service. The burgers (served by the guys in the kitchen who are known as The Smokey Trotters) are fantastic.

It's a pub. In a way, it reminds me of the student union when I was at university in the late seventies. It's a little rock and roll (although they were playing funk and hip hop). The Victorian decor has largely been retained. There are heavy, dark wood fittings and comfy booths which are little like old railway compartments. The beer selection is limited, but includes two modern IPAs (Neck Oil and Lagunitas) alongside old favourites like Guinness. It's friendly and we'll run and also serves slices of pizza. The music is quite loud and may not be everybody's taste.

Expensive pints! £5 for strongbow dark fruits in a very standard pub environment! £6 for craft. Not sure what they do to justify the price tbh. Partners cocktail was nice though

Amazing burgers, one of the best I've had in a long time. Super friendly staff who were very kind and accommodating even when the restaurant bar was very packed. The Odyssey burger with black pudding was perfectly tender. We'll probably go back before the end of our stay !

Nice bar in the finneston area. We came across it on our way back to the hotel after a concert at the hydro. There was a DJ on providing good music. The bar was small and overall pretty busy but we managed to get a seat. I would certainly visit again if in the area as there were TV screens for sports events etc and a good cocktail menu.

Outstanding food. That classic burger is in my top 5 of all time. Amazing vietnamese chips and Asian slaw that was out of this world. The crispy onion rings were braw as well. Lovely friendly service. Cant rave enough about this place!

A LIP SMACKING TASTEY SUPRISE. ..Having walked past a variety of bars and restaraunts, at first the basic plainly written menu outside did not attract me in just the style of the bar and a very pleasant talkative manager. .the kitchen did have nice aromas coming from it. The manager mentioned all food made fresh including sauces by the chef...so I decided to give it a go theirs 3 types of burgers, own KFC , 3 types of chicken tenders and a few other items ..i chose chicken tenders n his own sauce and batter..I was still LICKING MY LIPS & mouth a hr later..CHECK PICTURES ON THIER FACEBOOK. You never guess the quality from the white one page menu outside in basic typeng no detail or pictures..I'll go back for sure

Visited here after a recommendation from a friend before a gig.... crackin wee pub, great live music on a Sunday afternoon/evening, good selection of drinks and incredible fries!! I had mine with haggis and whisky sauce and they were amazing! Well worthy of a visit if you're in Finnieston!

The Dirty Duchess was phenomenal! Kind and attentive, the staff were wonderful! Easily one of the best burgers in Edinburgh. I recommend the Kiev, Snobby fries, Korean Chili fries, and all the burgers!

During weekends it's possible to have some fun while other pubs are all fully booked. Several types of beers available.
