Good food, good drinks! Industrial setting which added to the charm. It's down quite a big staircase so be careful if you have access needs. I ordered the hotdog and it was yummy, the chips were also really good!

Loved the falafel toastie, so comforting!!! And no fresh coriander inside which was great. Amazing muffin and I was so thrilled to find a frangipane tart.

Menu has slowly been going downhill for years. Used to love this place and get excited to eat here, until they changed the menu the first time and everything on it seemed....average. I still enjoyed it to an extent but it was no longer my favourite restaurant.
However, the recent changes to the menu is what really caused me to write this review. For example, their"Grilled Cheese" sandwiches are truly, truly awful. The Philly Cheese Steak was literally a piece of normal bread, toasted, with some undercooked seitan and some soggy onions and peppers. This was roughly £10. I swear I could have made it better at home and I'm not even a great cook.
Their bathroom sinks are also never working, almost every time I have been there too. Seems to be taking a very long time to fix that.
Completely disappointed in their effort recently. Good bar, good venue, maybe eat somewhere else.

I love the flying duck! Its my fav 100% vegan place in glasgow.
S. N.
An underground pub & music venue with a completely vegan menu. The place is split into two large rooms - one with the bar, kitchen and eating area (they also have board games and a pool table) and the other with a cosy concert hall. The staff were friendly. The food was really good though the menu was a bit limited the day we were there (probably being mid-August and students being away) but we had a nice time. I had to ask for some changes to my dish due to a dietary restriction (in addition to being vegan) and they were happy to accommodate. Despite being next to the music room where a band was playing, the bar and dining area were quiet. We went to the music hall in the next room afterwards for a bit. Nice ambiance...younger crowd.

Hi there, so firstly I adore the flying duck! It’s a really great venue and it’s probably the only place I can think of that does a decent Vegan Mac and cheese!
My only upset is that the venue isn’t accessible, it’s down a couple flights of stairs and The the gig venue is down even more stairs. And I know nothing can be done about it but I think having a bit more visibility on that the venue isn’t accessible would be amazing!
I would recommend this venue though it’s a lively place and I’ve always felt welcomed! Just from the point of view of someone with access needs it’s tough to want to have events here as I have many pals who are also mobility impaired.
But again too venue despite this

Absolutely delicious food, cool place and nice people!

I loved the vibe of the place. It was completely suitable for vegetarians and vegans. It was a lovely setting and I thoroughly enjoyed my meal. I had a Bean Burger with some apple cider and both were delicious. The burger was flavourful and full of a lot of leafy vegetables which was very different and enjoyable.
Highly recommended. Thanks!

Went to see my friends gig, (Quatermass, check em out on insta) and while there had some rumskis and food (decently priced)

GREAT ATMOSPHERE WITH GOOD FOOD
Was taken here on a Friday evening a couple days after new years. Arrived at around 7:30pm and there were a lot of tables available. Started getting a lot busier later on.
I got the Colonel Chipotle burger which was recommended by one of the staff. It came with chips and coleslaw. Both were great quality and very more-ish. The burger was pretty good but honestly I like the sides a lot more. The burger patty was a little to thick for me. Still tasted great!
The atmosphere is probably the best part of this place. It's in the sweet spot where it wasn't too busy or too quiet.
They're also looked like there was a lot of events going on which I need to go back for!
Would recommend going here if you're looking for a place with a decent meal and great atmosphere.
L. R.
The food here was so so good! I could have eaten it all over again. Delicious kebab sandwhich- side of coleslaw and chips was perfect.
They have boardgames behind the bar if you're so inclined, a great way to pass the time as your food is being put together.
We enjoyed some rhubarb sodas along with our food, great for those who don't drink much but want something from the bar.
Overall cool atmosphere and very friendly staff.
Only thing that didn't match up was the toilets.. they sort of looked like they might at 4am with a crowded bar, though it was about 2pm when there.
R. H.
No contest for the best vegan food in Glasgow! Everything they make is superb and all the staff are great. Not for the faint of heart though, The Flying Duck definitely has a "underground hipster" vibe which might be off putting, but if that sounds intimidating, trust me, you'll be put to ease immediately by the relaxing atmosphere and cool staff!
M. O.
Nice enough place, with casual atmosphere. The food is good, we had some loaded nachos and a burger. The nachos are good but don't really stand out, and they would be nicer with more salsa/fresh veggies instead of just mainly the 'cheese' sauce. The burger was ok but a bit bland and the patties could use more spices and seasoning. The chips and salads were good. You order at the bar, and they bring the food to you. The selection of drinks is decent, and the prices are ok. Worth a visit, I would probably give it another chance when in town.

The Flying Duck is a great place for a wee date night. The service from the staff is super friendly and welcoming. Spacious with a great layout, You have plenty of your own space and a great variety of tasty items on the menu!
N.
Good grilled cheese club sandwich! The bacon was really good and the cheese was nice. Amazing value, it's 7£ and only 5.95£ for students! I was almost going to get garlic bread as a side when I ordered, but it wouldn't have been necessary as I was absolutely full from the fries and sandwich.
c. g.
Chilled vibe, great service and absolutely delicious food. Everything is 100% vegan and you know when a meal just hits the spot, well the grilled cheese with bacon did just that.
s. p.
Came here for a live music night to support a friend. Arrived early to have some food first. Looked at the menu and saw classic kebab, bacon ect I was really looking forward to eating....then noticed everything was vegan 🤮. How is a classic kebab vegan? This is new age kebab not classic. Very misleading. Suffice to say I did not partake in that food. Each to their own I suppose but I think they would make more money catering for everyone. Vegans expect other restaurants to cater for them so they should cater for us normal people too, 1 rule for 1 and not the other. Oh well, live and learn I suppose.
Beer prices were on average/high end for glasgow City centre.
Staff were very polite and welcoming so 10/10 for that.
Toilets are unisex with cubicles and open urinals, did not bother me but that could put some people off. On this occasion I went there was no running water in any of the taps so washing hands after hitting the heads was an issue. Good thing covid was around so you could still use hand gel.
Free WiFi which was handy as the bars are downstairs in the basement so don't expect phone signal.
Overall it was a friendly atmosphere and a half decent place to go, but unless I'm supporting a friend again I would not choose to go here again, unless they start catering for everyone, this in turn would up profits and depending on the greed of the owners lower the price of the beer.
Food N/A / 10
Price 5/10
Atmosphere 8/10
Facilities 4/10
Service 10/10

It's ok but I might not go there again! It's best for vegan!
E.
The food was excellent however it got really cold after we had sat down for a little bit.
B. M.
It was the greatest food experience of my life if you love food go here. If you're vegan go here. I had the "zero to hero" burger which was unbelievable. The atmosphere was great and the staff were wonderful and nice. 5/5
J. T.
Lovely food, great friendly staff, great vibe and 100% vegan couldn't ask for me
C. G.
Fabulous place with lovely staff. 100% vegan!! The vegan Big Mac was soooooo delicious and they have an impressive selection of vegan alcoholic drinks.
Would definitely go again.
No photos as the food was inhaled lol.
S. O.
Lovely bar, right in the heart of the city centre of Glasgow, shows and live music can be seen here.
C. L.
Was the first time for me in Glasgow and I was looking for a vegan restaurant. A friend recommendet the FlyingDuck. I went there and was surprised, its not a restaurant, it is more an underground student place which is nice. I was a bit overdressed but who cares. The food is verry good and came quick. Not that much gravy withe the mash, that maybe needs to be improved.
M.
We were too busy enjoying our burgers that we forgot to save some for our special girl. The chef tonight was so generous he made a little one just for her. You're awesome man!
T.
Very, very tasty food! Will definitely come back! Buffy season 1 was streaming for free in the room next door and it's a lovely casual atmosphere for such great food.
S. M.
Menu is a little limited but entirely animal product free. The burgers were really good and I would recommend for anyone in Glasgow looking for a tasty burger to drop in. The decoration is a little shabby and dingy being in a basement where they hold music events but this place is all about the food for me and that is what is great about it.
K. J.
One of the best vegan places in Glasgow. Fantastic food and lovely people, dogs welcome. Over 18s only.
C. W.
Could this place be any better? I really don’t know. Hard to believe the whole menu is vegan, I want to come back and try everything!
K. N.
Really great food - huge portions! Service was quick and everything was delicious. Would definitely recommend for anyone who wants a vegan hot dog!
S. C.
After a long time away from Glasgow I'm delighted to say that this place is still right up there ... "Big Mac" was delicious
s.
Really nice service, food was delicious. The seitan big mac is my favourite. First time back since lockdown and we'll definitely make it a regular thing.
B. G.
Vegan comfort food at its best. Deffo try the vegan big mc. Will be back
J. B.
Unfourtunaly the food wasn't nice, but good wcpensive bier ypu get here.
D.
Decent music, friendly staff, GREAT food and really interesting underground ambiance.
Z. V. r.
Really nice vegan food and lovely friendly staff!
P. M.
Went the the flying duck for my 30th, good night from start to finish. Bouncer on the door was very pleasant, bar staff friendly, customer in good spirits. The DJs playing that night were also very good and speaking to them they were very keen to hear my mixes. Give them a follow on instagram if you like techno surge.80
M. C.
The best vegan bar/restaurant in Glasgow. I prefer more family friendly places but it's great nonetheless. I recommended it personally to John 5 before his show in Glasgow, I hope he tried it.
P. D.
Fantastic setting and great food. A vegan lovers haven.
M. B. C.
I love the atmosphere of this place; it feels like a secret club when you walk in. It's never empty but never too loud. The food is generally pretty good and will impress non-vegans' palates as well. My go-to are the chilli cheese fries, although sometimes they're a bit but and miss, hence taking one star off. The staff are always friendly and it's just a great place in general to spend a few hours hanging with friends and having a nice bite to eat, especially on a rainy day.
C. M.
Loved the food- dull interior but great food
T. J.
Really cool underground bar. The venue is really small and speakers are not the best, but most people will be in for food and drink. The beer selection is fantastic with lots of Scottish beers. The food is all vegan and I haven't been disappointed. Would like to see them include fries with the meals though as they would make a great addition.
S. A.
One of my favourite vegan places to eat in Glasgow. It is absolutely fab! Very delicious, reasonable price for a massive portion, good drinks and amazing atmosphere. The staff is very friendly. Highly recommend their doner, mac&cheese and garlic cheese bread is to die for.
C. O.
Enjoyed the concert. Very impressed with Paula Gomez and Xose Liz. They played A very fine set. The rest of the concert was also enjoyable.
B. B.
Cool bar tucked away at the edge of the City Centre. Came mid-week and was pretty empty so can't comment on how the place is on a weekend but is quite large so I'm sure there's always lots of room.
Not a vegan myself, came with a vegan friend knowing it's a vegan venue but did enjoy the vegan kebab. Food selection is quite limited even for a vegan place though I'd say.
Staff were friendly and has a good drink selection. Reasonably priced.
S. O. T. W.
If your looking for a bar to have a munch & a few drinks before you hit the city nightlife, then this is a good place to start. It's a basement vegan bar, I myself am not vegan but I still enjoyed the burgers. They were delicious! Staff were really nice also.
C. C.
Excellent menu, all vegan. Honestly I couldn't tell the pan fried prawns were not actual prawns. The meat substitutes were by far the best I've tasted in quite a few years. Also refreshing to see an establishment with realistic toilet protocol for the world we actually live in. Toilets were unisex and the flying duck has an anti homophobia, gernderphobia, seeing how-it-goes-phobia, so if it could have 10 out of 5, I would give it. Food excellent, cocktails brilliant, quality, friendly staff. Best pub in be found in the city.
H. H.
This is the most superb bar and restaurant I have ever been to. What do you want? Great beer? Come here! Pool table? Great food? Come here! Great vegan food? Even better! The staff looked like they could be having more fun but still a great place to go!
E. D.
An amazing vegan place with awesome atmosphere. So many things go choose from on the menu. The owners are clearly very environmentally aware which I just love. Amazing food, especially the homemade mayo. Can't wait to come back next time I'm in Glasgow!
S. B.
Food is absolutely amazing and imaginative. It's not a great place to sit and eat though, more of a studenty pub with scruffy tables and chairs. But that didn't actually bother me though, just more of a place I'd go for a drink than food.
However, the food itself surpasses all that and it's well worth it. Will definitely be back to try more of their excellent range of vegan burgers and hot dogs.
N.
Had lunch here with my husband last week. It was to die for! I had vegan Big Mac and he had a bacon double cheese burger. Will definitely be coming back to try different things, especially desserts. The mains are really filling. Loved the atmosphere and decor. It's quite dark but I liked it.
I. W.
Brilliant food and atmosphere. The entire vegetarian/vegan menu is hugely helpful and makes picking the best options easier and is a nice change from the usual one or two options most restaurants feature on their menu.
The pricing and student discount is also amazing and makes it a place i definitely think I'll return to
R. C.
Good vegan eatery. Vegan Big Mc was very tasty and coupled with a side salad rather than the usual fried offering. Decent enough atmosphere for a meal for one, imagine the place can get pretty pumping at the weekends in its underground location.
A. W.
Atmosphere is still great and staff are always awesome. All the interesting graffiti has been painted over in the bathrooms, which is a shame.
What really sucks is that so many amazing options have been taken off the food menu (including the hot dogs!). Still tasty but feels so much more limited. There are also still no chips (which used to be a real highlight), so the burgers don't seem as good a value anymore.
Plus, we were charged nearly £2 for a lime soda - seemed excessive.
C. A. R.
Really nice bar, great vegan food! However, one time I came here and pretty much everything on there menu was out of stock. This shouldn't put you off going there cause the food and drink is awesome, it's just something they need to make sure doesn't happen again.
n. j.
Really love the food in here, especially their vegan Big Mac. The only downside is they had no desserts at all last time which was disappointing. Everyone likes a dessert after dinner! My fiancé also misses their selection of hot dogs which they took off the menu. Overall, good food and vibe.
D. S.
Great atmosphere and magic for vegan food
B. D.
What to say about the Flying Duck other than it wears it's heart on its sleeve. It's unassuming entrance and art laden staircase hide a hidden gem of Glasgow; quite possibly the best vegan bar I've ever been too. The staff are awesome, the food even better and their selection of drinks is essentially the standard you'd expect everywhere else. Couple that with its other hidden gem, the film club hosted in the back rooms and the pool table located next to bar and you've got the recipe for an excellent vegan night out. Try the Mac n Cheese, you won't regret it!
T. T. G. M.
Took ages to get served even though place was quite empty on a Saturday early evening. Booked a table but told to sit anywhere when we asked. Drinks expensive. Food was good vegan junk food but would rather have had restaurant food for same price. Not the best Vegan place in Glasgow. Bonus it's near the cinema. Food was quite good if you like a burger.
J. H.
The Flying Duck is a good stop for groups looking for some good hearty vegan food and drinks, less so for a quiet drink and meal. It's a place that clearly thrives best when busy and full of energy. When it's less full it feels grimy and dirty, and the food is pretty heavy. The service was friendly and helpful, letting us know that the kitchen was closing early but that it was no problem to order food. It was a bit frustrating to see our food sit on the side for a while before it was brought over but it was still hot when it arrived.
R. A.
This is a vegan place. I went because my friends heard they had a good pub quiz. The pub quiz was fun. The cocktails were good. But the bathroom was full of guilt. I'm a meat eater. I don't need the hand dryer to make me feel bad that as an omnivore i eat meat. Its why we have cutting teath as well as molars.
K. P.
How refreshing to have a place where everything on the menu is vegan! A relaxed, friendly and very laid back dining experience where you order and pay at the bar. Many burger types to choose from, plus they also have subs and paninis I think. Not much else though in terms of dishes. The service wasn't very quick, but it was fairly worth the wait. I believe they have bands play there sometimes -Definitely, of the alternative or progressive style. Unfortunately, being located underground makes for a cold restaurant, so I'd recommend wearing an extra layer if you go.
K. L.
So good! The best vegan burger I've ever had (I have had many) without a doubt. The space is really edgy and cool. There's a huge amount to choose from (all miraculously vegan). It is mostly fast food type things - e.g. burgers, hotdogs, nachos - but served with lots of extras and huge portions. Doubles as a concert/event space. Love it love it love it!
J. D.
I'm torn here because as a pub I quite like the flying duck, good choice of beers, has a nice vibe, a little bit hipstery but it's still good, bar staff are nice and helpful, the burnt church film club is held here which was an awesome experience, good people. Now as for the food, I'll say this now I'm not vegan so maybe my opinion looses credibility, but I thought it was awful, my girlfriend who is vegan, said it was terrible as well, I can't remember what she had but I had the burger which felt and tasted like I was eating bubble gum, I've ate in one other vegan restaurant which was a bit better but not by much, so maybe I just don't like vegan food much 😂 I've heard that the mac and cheese is good, but I don't think I'll be eating here again. Good pub but if you're not vegan stay away from the food in my opinion.
N. A.
One of my favorite places in Glasgow, and the UK as the ultimate stop for a vegan!! The food is great with a rich variety and cheap drinks. Head there during the day and play board games available there or got at night when the place turns into a club with great music.
The only downside is the service isn’t always as great as the food, people are friendly but sometimes the food is late/ you need to remind them of your order.
M. M.
Used to be one of my favourite spots to chill and grab a vegan bite to eat but, in my opinion, the food has gone down hill recently. Still a great place to get a drink and meet friends. Lots of great event too.
L. L.
Entirely vegan menu serving a variety of comfort foods that satisfied the carnivores in our party. I had been craving a hearty burger and their Canadian Seitan burger really hit the spot. Cool, dark, underground setting with a poster plastered walls giving a rock n' roll vibe. Can't wait to go back to try more from the menu.
G. L.
Loads of tasty vegan and gluten free options available. My only wish is that they had chips... otherwise awesome. They also host Burnt Church Film Club there which is amazing fun and run by wonderful peeps too. ❤️😍💋
H. B. P.
Loved the food! I really like the vibe of this place, just a shame they didn't have any ice cream for a milkshake! Definitely recommend to any vegans and non-vegans, I'll definitely be taking my friends there 😊
A. A. M.
It's good place. The donner is the best choice in the menu for me. Tried two different burgers were not wow. Side dishes are really nice. Big portions served. Could be tricky pick the best of the menu. Still I would recommend it. The burgers are not their best speciality other plates are better.
L. L.
Delicious vegan food which is very flavourful and filling. Had the classic quarter pounder which was really tasty. It came with a zesty beetroot slaw and cheesy nachos. I liked the laid back atomosphere and the interior was chic and industrial. Would definitely visit again!
N. B.
This is a great place to come if you're craving some greasy vegan food! Definitely tasty vegan food, if not healthy! Cool, laid-back (if a bit loud) atmosphere that's a recommended experience.
R. C.
Grungy pub with excellent vegan food. Often has live music or live performance. The venue is also often used for vegan show case. The food is fantastic and offers up excellent vegan alternatives to classic pub food. Good opportunity to try less mainstream vegan substitutes. Can be a bit pricy for alcohol but the pub does do a discount on food for cinema ticket holders.
J. W.
Had a fantastic vegan meal here, really delicious burgers. The dessert was also delicious. The staff is super nice. Next time we are in Glasgow we will definitely come back again.
D. D.
Good gf vegan food choices. Can be a hit or a miss regarding food waiting times. More a hit than miss :) have always found staff to be friendly. Portion sizes for Mac cheese and fries is great. Not enough gravy on the mash though :(
H. C.
Delicious food and welcoming staff. Very well priced and a lovely atmosphere. Had a slight delay on food but staff were very accommodating x
T. M.
I had no idea this was a vegan place. Do you know why? Because it's run just like any other bar. It doesn't smack you in the face with 'vegan this' and 'vegan that'. It's an alternative bar that sells alternative food. I go on a Saturday afternoon for an Improv comedy class so it's pretty quiet but I can imagine this place being a riot on a Friday or Saturday night.
From the outset, it looks like most other rock/metal bars in Glasgow. It's black; It has heavy music playing through the speakers; There's venue space; And, the staff are all donning the alternative gear. Last Saturday, the barman was wearing a Mayhem t-shirt which certainly bumped up his Black Metal cred.
Food and drink are standard prices with a well-stocked bar providing a wide range of beers, spirits, wines, etc. If you want a tea or coffee, you can do so (herbal teas are available) but, for non-vegans, be aware your milk choice is oat or soy.
I haven't tried the food but the menu looks appetising and the smell from the kitchen is delicious so I certainly will be trying their food in the future. The fare on offer is quite extensive and I can tell it's been created by people who enjoy their food and want to be inclusive of others and not by people who want to advertise their lifestyle choice whilst narrowing their customer base.
So, if you're vegan and a member of the alternative scene and are looking for a place to hang out in Glasgow then look no further than the Flying Duck.
Even if you're not vegan and just want a cool place to visit then add the Flying Duck to your list.
A. G.
Really good vegan food, right near our hotel.
E. R.
Went for a meal and some drinks and I couldn’t recommend more! The food was phenomenal and the staff were very friendly and welcoming. I couldn’t recommend more :)
S. L.
An actual fully vegan place! I was very excited when I found this restaurant. The food was awesome the atmosphere is so nice and casual and the staff was great. I absolutely would go here again.
T. W.
At first you were ve-gone, now you will begone!! That's what i say whenever I eat at this place, the staff are often confused, now onto the important stuff. This place is fantastic, I've eating kebabs, ribs, mac and cheese and other things I have forgotten. All meat free, wowsers trousers. I would recommend anyone come here as in my opinion it's the second best vegan food in Glasgow, next to falafel to go. They do a beer and a burger deal not the cheapest but pretty damn reasonable. Good spot for a first date if they don't mind being underground and like scrabble. Also saw Sun Araw here lol. Thanks for reading
H. H.
Amazing food and great staff, definitely worth checking out
V. C.
One of the best vegan place in town. Great food, lovely atmosphere, beautiful music and the stuff is just awesome. I ordered zero tohero hamburger and it was amazing.
C. P.
So many vegan options! Lush tofu burger and amazing nachos
M. L. G.
Such a wonderful vegan menu. It was hard to believe that the dishes didn't have any meat. Both my fiancé and I had some burgers. They were loaded with veggies and came with coleslaw and cheesy tortilla chips. For drinks you're spoiled for choice of beers and artisinal soda. Would definately go back.
J. P.
I was a bit intimidated when I first walk in as it's so dark with graffiti on the walls. The decor is quite dingy but when you get past this it's a great place to eat, relax and drink. They also allow dogs which is always a plus in my book. Good variety on the menu as well as at the bar. Discounts are available if you have a cinema ticket or student card. I'll definitely be back.
A. A.
A place not to be missed while being in Glasgow. Vegan food and rock music, what more could you ask for? The staff, the location, the design, the food, everything makes this the most wonderful place to be in! Loved every bit of it.
J. L.
The Flying Duck is a superb idea with some awkward and ill thought out execution holding it back from true greatness!
What I like/dislike:
+ timeless underground surround and decor. I could be in Shanghai, New York, London or anywhere else for that fact with the atmosphere being truly unique, inviting and free.
- it’s COLD. people with jackets on in winter due to a bad heating layout.
+ some great vegan offerings, including a cracking burger and the best fries I’ve had in a fair while.
- some bad vegan offerings, such as a tasteless and texture unspecific macaroni cheese. The Christmas dinner alternative was also a huge disappointment.
+ wonderful helpful and friendly staff.
- completely inconsistent preparation and wait times.
A. S.
Absolutely the best vegan food I've ever had. Cocktails were delicious. Good prices on house liquor & beers. Great music selection.
R.
Friendly service! Chilled Ambiente and on top the vegan food is so good and the „close to meat taste“ makes you corious if it is plant based - amazing! 100% vegan though
Maybe move to Germany ? :)
K. K.
Atmosphere is good and friendly staff, however the food is below average. Long wait for the burger, which was dry, didn't taste any sauce in it. Tortilla was basic Tesco's, a spoon of guacamole really wasn't enough to dip.
J. M.
We found this place by chance and we fell in love with it. The place is 100% vegan, the staff is friendly and the food tastes amazing! We got a Mac n' Cheese and a Kahuna Burger, both delicious.
L. F.
Been here quite a few times. You could come here for a few pints or for food and feel pretty comfortable either way. The food is delicious. It’s a shame they took the fries off the menu as they used to have absolutely THE best fries ever. Here’s hoping they make a comeback!
P. P.
Great venue, 5 bean dish was lovely
O. K.
I’m not a vegan, in fact I’d say I’m a card carrying carnivore, but I have to admit the food here is pretty good. Their fryer has been dead for months so no chips, they lose points for that in Glasgow.
A. S.
Stunning food, cheesy garlic bread is to die for and great music, will definitely be back. Also had a great seitan burger and tried my friends nachos which were nice but not really my thing, my friend on the other hand loved it.
H. L.
Delicious Vegan Burgers. Fair price and good quality. Nice place to hang out, chill and they also welcome dogs :-) Nice beer sellection. Would recommend!!
D. R.
Food was alright, still felt hungry afterwards. I felt cold all night. Seems nice though to hang around, I'm glad there's a few vegan places to go in Glasgow. Just wish it was more filling and it was warmer
S. V.
First time at Flying Duck on 18th Nov. We had some lovely, well priced vegan food off an interesting menu in the bar. Bar has a great underground, bohemian feel and has a decent selection of beers. We then went into the back room for the main event...Smoove and Turrell, who were outstanding and had the floor pounding with dancing feet in the small, sweaty but awesome gig venue.
Great place...will be back:-)
S. H.
Delicious dessert!!! The banana split was a game changer, and my life now has new meaning. For a vegan spot, everything was weirdly meat-themed. Some veggie-based items would be a great addition to the menu.
M. G.
This is one of my favourite places ever. Food is excellent, people are super nice, tou feel safe and accepted for who you are.
I remember a few months ago there was a shelf with books and CDs you could exchange; haven't seen it last time i went to Flying Duck, that's a shame, i loved it.
However, every single time I go to Glasgow, I do go to Flying Duck. I highly recommand.
J. D.
Update!! Significantly reduced waiting time the last few times we've been, thank you Flying Duck! We love you and your delicious macaritos :) xxx
We LOVE to come here and enjoy the food so much, BUT there seems to be a huge increase in waiting time for your food - which you aren't warned about. This is particularly annoying when you are about to go to the cinema (they offer a discount for cinema ticket holders) and have been waiting for over an hour for your food and end up missing the start of your film! As I said though, great food so a place which I really want to give business to, so we continue to give the benefit of the doubt. Maybe it's a short-staff issue? An easy way to solve this would be to inform customers of the waiting time before they order so they can make a more informed choice. An hour wait on food is super long if you're hungry! Please do something Flying Duck! We love you!
J. M.
Wonderful staff, decent drink prices, good music and amazing atmosphere. Came for a birthday party and it's worth mentioning the venue space is absolutely fab. Glad to have found the place and will definitely be back.
B. A.
Great food served in ratty stripped back surroundings with a very laid back and mellow atmosphere. Places like this can often be a rare find as a vegan, even in big cities such as Glasgow but so rewarding once stumbled upon.
N. F.
Yummy food and a great atmosphere.
S. A.
Idk, I was excited to try this place after reading such good reviews and having a personal recommendation from a friend. While the atmosphere was super cool (and I'd come back just for this, w/o ordering food), the food was disappointing on all accounts. The tempeh rashers did not in any way resemble any tempeh I've ever had, and it was tastless. The curry dog came with the tiniest smear of curry and the cheese sprinkled on top wasn't even melted. Both said they came on pretzel buns - what they came on were not at all pretzel buns. They were dark brown yet normal (and kinda stale) buns. I don't know how anyone can call those pretzel buns. No salt on them, just normal bread. We left still hungry.
I hate leaving bad reviews and rarely do it but this place really missed the mark for us. Perhaps we just ordered the wrong things? But there are far better vegan places in Glasgow.
D. C.
Some of the best vegan mac & cheese I've had, and the alcoholic milkshakes are not to be missed. Staff is very friendly & helpful and a very relaxing atmosphere.
S. P.
The vegan kebab and chips was phenomenal. I gave up meat two years ago and I did miss kebabs the most, I left so happy and full of a glorious meat free replica.
c. m.
As much as vegan food isnt really my thing the food was good and the bars revamp is fairly good. Pub quizzes to live music happen on a weekly basis. Worth checking out.
K. R.
Milkshakes are amazing, the vibe is good and it's very cute. Only thing is most of the food is not as great as other vegan places. Great place for drinks and snacks though
R. K.
Whether it's for food during the day or karaoke at the weekend this is fast becoming my favourite place in Glasgow and as a meat eater in a vegan restaurant it still easily out does anywhere I've eaten in Glasgow. And for a night out it's easily the best karaoke night in the city anyone who goes will not be disappointed Hope you enjoy.
R. M.
Amazing street food for vegans/ non-vegans alike! Would highly recomend. Came in for lunch had The Brooklyn burger and the Philly Cheese Steak with BBQ Jackfruit. Yum!
S. H.
Great local scene with excellent vegan fare. Full service bar is a plus and the staff are friendly. Specials are interesting and well thought out. Highly recommended for veg food!!
E. E.
One of the best vegan places I've been too defo recommend and try the doner kebab! 😂😂 staff were amazing and so accommodation to surprise birthday dinner. Will go back!!
G. M.
I'm new to not eating animal carcasses so I'm not too well versed on what makes vegan food good, but I liked the atmosphere. Also, the food is the best vegan food I've ever eaten.
M.
Delicious burger and soup , big portion;)
T. M.
Tasty food, all vegan, great gluten free options. Reasonably priced. Burger fries were amazing.
D. S.
I was craving a vegan burger and they delivered! Great basement vibe and there was great tunes playing too! Wish i had room in my stomach for one the their shakes.
M. L.
Great selection of vegan food. Good club nights in the evening too. Though it's dark in the daytime, and they don't supply real plates, just plastic baskets.
B. C.
One of my favourite places for vegan junk and good beer. Also hosts some fantastic events, quiz nights, music and a pool table. Also, the graffiti in the stalls is lays good for a laugh.
N. G.
I had the Mac and cheese. Was nice. Generous portion.
D. S.
Very friendly vegan cafe bar, the staff were very hospitable as a solo traveller I felt very welcome and at ease, it was nice to try some of the protein meal alternatives I can't usually find like fakon and seitan, a bratwurst sausage meal, nicely priced too, the bar has a nice friendly welcoming atmosphere.
K. M.
Are you any age? Any gender? Generally just a cool person? Then this is the place for you!
Went here for the first time today and loved it so much I wish I could work here! Good food, good people, good drunks, good music, good graffiti, just all good!!
E. B.
The chipotle chicken burger as well as the doner kebab were really yummy and quite filling. Service was also good. However, being in a basement it's not really cozy as lunch place
C. L.
One of my favourite bars in Glasgow. Tasty food, great atmosphere, and drinks are actually an okay price. It's also very rarely heaving, so a good place to check out of you're looking for somewhere quieter.
K. G.
Super cool vibe. A vegan restaurant with performance space. Great food and interesting drinks menu including Club-Mate and the Fritz soft drinks.
A. V.
Wow. So good. We had a burger, hot dog, Mac & cheese and a shake... it was all so good. No compromise to flavour at all, everything was excellent. Definitely coming back.
M. B.
What an absolute delight of a bar. Vegan food and an extremely welcoming quiz master with some of the most ridiculous questions to ever have been asked. A must visit for boffins and food lovers alike.
S. K.
Great vegan food and also dog friendly!
G. S.
Great food. Place needs warm water and lick of paint though . Shame that all vegan places seem to be run down but that's the 'look'
T. M.
Inventive recipes, also a great venue for vegan "junk food" and ideal before going to the cinema. Also amazing milkshakes. You might struggle for healthier options though.
S. M.
Absolutely delicious food, the seitan donner meat & chips was really nice, music was good and you're allowed dogs in there as well which is always a plus!
A. D.
Wonderful vegan pub food in the perfect divey setting. Super-friendly staff. Decent beer selection. Come hungry.
L. O.
We absolutely loved it! Food was really good and in great prices and the selection of craft beer complemented the relaxed, casual but very stylish interior. Great staff. It feels like home in there :)
D. C.
Best Vegan Burgers in the world! a cozy chilled out late night haunt with a separate venue with loads of live music and DJ's.
B. H.
It's a big, open and decent enough place. Thing is though, over 5 quid for an Old Mount cider? They don't take card payments for under a fiver either, which isn't a problem with their prices unless your on the softies. £7.15 for an Old Mount and an Iron Bru.
G. L.
Love staff and food.
R. G.
Really nice, and had decent gluten free options
M.
Genuinely one of the best places I've been to that caters for vegans. The dawgs are to die for, combined with the cool atmosphere, reasonable drinks and live music...What a place!
D. C.
Hipster beyond belief but don't let that discourage you.
Look beyond the beards and tweed and you'll find a cool bar running interesting events with a chilled out vibe.
Well worth a visit.
A. M.
Awesome, Vegan fast food. Tasty and the Milkshakes are insanely good. 15% discount on food with a cinema ticket or student id
w.
Vegan food was amazing I had their seitan burger it was absolutely sensational, plus there's a pool table so you're onto a winner.
I. H.
Friendly staff and great vegan bar food. I had bratwurst and tortillas and my first ever vegan thick shake : )
s. m.
Suppose it's good if you into vegan stuff.
The food had too much strong tasting sauce to cover the bland fake meat.
D. D.
A lovely offbeat vibe and doggo friendly. Food looked good. But the downside is this used to be a bargainous location. Gone a bit too expensive for little apparent reason in a competitive environment.
D. K.
Not what we were really expecting based of it's reputation for food, but this basement music venue, although rough around the edges, serves up some top notch vegan alternatives to burgers and hotdogs...
M. M.
I've not tried the food yet but the Venue itself is really nice and Muso friendly - perfect for intimate gigs - stand up and bigger gigs.
H.
Service is often slow but the food definitely makes up for it. Absolutely amazing fake meats and cheeses and some creative things on the menu like peanut butter and jam fries (which are amazing)
K. S.
Food always blows me away.
M. D.
Amazing food, amazing range, not even vegan or veggie and still a place I'd choose to go again and again. And real good prices.
J. G.
I preferred the Flying Duck when the cosier, smaller room was the main bar. But it remains one of my favourite city centre drinkeries. Good atmosphere, great music, plus a pool table.
D. S.
Best vegan burgers! Period
P.
This place is sooo good. Dirty Vegan food at its best. Funky alternative environment: officially cool.
J. F.
Lovely vegan food. Don't be put off by the entrance. If you are vegan or vegetarian it's well worth braving the stairs
A. C.
Nice concept, nice idea, good liberal vibes. No whiskey sours (even if they have the ingredients ;) )
G. L.
I was here for some drinks with my friends, pricing is great for the town centre and the decor is very cool and gives and very casual vibe. It's very easy to just chill out with friends.
K. J.
Not bad. Pints are a bit pricey. Mostly IPAs. Not a vegan myself but the food was good none the less.
L. A.
Good food, good ambiance and great people
C. W.
Slow service. Good food.
R. L.
Great food, friendly staff, cool atmosphere. Just wish there was a bit more variety in the menu.
J. W.
I always come here when I'm in Glasgow because the food is amazing! If you're vegan or not, just eat it :)
G. x.
Good range of food from an all vegan restaurant. Helpful and friendly staff and a relaxed atmosphere.
H. M.
Great atmosphere, delicious vegan food, cheap drinks, welcoming staff!
C. S.
Awesome staff and some decent vegan food
C. P.
Excellent food and grungey decor, I highly recommend the Seitan Worshipper burger. My only criticism is that its can be a wee bit chilly on a snowy evening.
J. M.
Food is amazing, as is the beer selection. Staff are really cool and friendly, and the service is great. Definitely go here!
G. R.
Absolutely lovely staff and service. I was in with a couple of friends and had my little dogs with me, they got plenty of attention lol
P. C.
Great selection of food, burgers were excellent. Would recommend to people vegan or otherwise.
D. M.
As carnivore eater, had an super experience with the vegan BM so delicious. Would recommend it!
E. W.
Homely feeling, plenty hip music/comedy nights. Love the peanut satay chips! City's best hidden bar
D. B.
Best vegan food I have had. And the coffee flavoured Fritz cola is amazing.
J. S.
Lovely place to get together for a drink or a vegan meal. The food is lovely I would definately go back
J. D.
Good vegan food in a basic basement pub. A bit overpriced for what it was though - £12 for burger (without any chips)
R. O.
Awesome selection of vegan pub/street food. Also, the milkshakes are definitely worth a try!
S. M.
Very nice vegan place. Good atmosphere, music not too loud. Thanks a lot :)
M. R.
excellent food (vegan). friendly staff. great atmosphere.
S.
Food was good really enjoyed it lots of selection and all 100% vegan
א. E.
The food was good, the kitchen messed up my order so I had to wait while my friends are their meals. No apology or anything.
P. D.
Not a veggie so probably not the perfect demographic for this place (girlfriend is veggie) but the food was great, staff really nice and the place had a chilled vibe.
S. C.
Great service, loved the food, meat eaters left saying the burgers were the best they had ever had. Had Club Mate in stock as well.
U. A.
Amazing food and service, would definitely recommend to all vegans and non vegans alike!
R. H.
Great college atmosphere but the food is uninspired. I thought vegan had moved way beyond trying to make meat dishes with vegetables.
Y. Y.
Vegan Kebab is the Vegan King. Hip laid back atmosphere. Not for squares, all shapes welcome.
L.
Good food, small portions, pricey for the portion size. Love the ethical values of the place, service with a smile would have been appreciated.
N. E.
Nice food. Gender Neutral toilets. Staff sometimes just let the place down a little hence 4 stars.
L. P.
Amazing food. Nice atmosphere. Definitely one of our favorite restaurants in Glasgow!
M. W.
The vegan Big MC was is possibly the best burger I've ever eaten! Lovely service too
G. E.
The radical / queer ethos here feels quite authentic, and they're not trying too hard. I love that they have board games and plenty of table-room to play them.
A. S.
The foods were good. The atmosphere is classical while the most of the other pubs are chain shops.
P. M.
Really good, proper dirty vegan junk food wit big portions and a huge choice, including a specials board.
L. S.
Excellent food and drink selection. Even managed to get rave reviews from my friends who are meat eaters!
8. w.

D. D.
Burrito was Hella good
A. S.
Not your typical pub/bar. Place where anyone and everyone can feel free. Downside, if you need 5+ pints, it might get expensive.
C. M.
A favourite of ours for some time. Burgers are amazing and the awesome graffiti in the lady loo makes it a trip to remember.
d. m.
