Have been here a few times and always had a good time. Staff are very friendly and attentive. Great list of drinks, something to suit everyone. Cocktails can change so you never know what you will be surprised with. They will work with you to suit your needs too. Had a couple of toasties when I was there and they hit the spot. They do bingo events which I highly recommend too. Overall a hidden gem in Glasgow and well worth a visit.

This is single handle the best place to drink in the east end! Easy. You go in and you are already taken..a yellow light guiding you through the door, staff awaiting at the end, very friendly staff, a great quirky and stylish place inside..the design is just so amazing, brick walls, leather sofas..perfection. there are cocktails whiskies and you can find ciders too, few beers and non alcoholic stuff. Few things to eat on the menu too. I recommend you try it out! Good vibes only

One of the prettiest bars in the East end. Nice atmosphere and an interesting cocktail menu. Prices for cocktails range from 8 to 10 but some of them are small and not strong enough for my liking. Not many beer choices on tap. There are a few food options like toasties for £5 and a mini cheese board for £6. Staff are friendly.

You can not go wrong with this gem of a pub. The staff are outstandingly good - the cocktails are exquisite and the olives to die for! Can not recommend this place enough for a cosy atmosphere, great music and generally just a great time.

This bar has got it down to a T. Dropped in before a Barrowlands gig. Doesn't look much from the outside but don't be fooled. They go above and beyond to treat every customer like a VIP. Not something you experience too often in a bar in our city without having to pay premium prices in so called elite establishments. Brilliantly run. Loved this place.

Absolutely brilliant. Decided to take a detour away from Glasgow Green, great move. Don’t/never be deceived by outside looks. This is one helluva funky (sorry, I’m 60+ 😏) place. Really very nice and knowledgeable staff. Had my first cheese toasty in absolutely yonks, it was on a bed of monsters, what utter brilliance (I last had them 40 yrs ago, I bored the staff with that story 🤦‍♂️) so I proceeded to a whisky sour (a first) it’ll not be the last, superb. Thanks lads n lassies.

A nice little Scottish pub with fantastic service and lively atmosphere. I am pretty excited that I found this neighbourhood gem! Looking forward to pay another visit there. PS. The nuts in the menu are served with what I think is red pepper on top, which may be a problem for people with little tolerance for spicy food, so take notes!

You know what's properly excellent in ways I didn't even know existed? The Gate is excellent in ways I didn't even know existed. Everything, from the drinks to the service, was executed to a level of such acute detail and care that I feel compelled to go door to door telling anyone I meet about it. The cocktails are some of the best I've tried anywhere, and the "hauf & hauf" is a proper must for anyone who enjoys a little liquid tourism. The staff were clearly drinks geeks with encyclopaedic understanding of all of the fiddly bits but were mercifully easy going and generous with their time. I loved it. *One extra star should be awarded for atmosphere, because I've never felt like I was in Coen Brothers film more than stepping out into the neon lights of Barrowlands Ballroom*

First time coming here was with my partner on the 12th December 2021 after seeing The Levellers at the Barrowlands. Lovely wee place so it is. Staff are so nice, friendly and helpful, relaxed and comfortable atmosphere and a very good drinks menu. A nice place to go after having a fantastic night at the Barrowlands and it definitely rounded our night off. Recommended to a few people so we'll definitely be back again at some point.

Honestly the best bar service I've ever received. A really cool atmosphere and the staff are right there to give you the best service. Cocktails were top notch and the accompanying cheese toasties were fab! This is a Scottish gem and a must for anyone visiting Glasgow. It is a shame The Gate doesn't have a bigger profile as it is very much deserving a spot in Scotland's top bars! The service is fast and staff are friendly. The cocktail menu is great and the beer recommendation I received was great. This bar makes me want to revise my previous five-star reviews so I can set this place a level above them.

Fancied a proper cocktail to cheer myself up on my lockdown birthday and came across The Gate's cocktail delivery service. Would highly recommend! I didn't know what I fancied, so I did their Create My Cocktail option which asks you different questions to determine your ideal drink and they got it spot on. Loved the touch of asking your favourite movie or song too - I thoroughly enjoyed my Stormy Cloud Chase made by Drew! Great communication from Phil about delivery time also. Top class - thanks very much!

Bit of a find. Nice, relaxed, 'grown up' pub. Staff were friendly and attentive without ever being pushy. The only minor issue is that the toilet was tiny(only one urinal and a cubicle in the gents) could be an issue on a busy night. Otherwise, I would definitely recommend.

Had a quick drink here with a friend and the service was excellent. They gave us pretzels as a snack with our drinks which was a nice touch. Prices are good as well - around £4 for a pint of heverlee. My friend had a can of watermelon beer which was slightly more expensive - around £5.

Cracking wee place. The beauty of the bar hits you as soon as you walk through the second door (the excitement starts building after the first). Greeted by a friendly bar man who happily made my pregnant wife a mocktail which was fantastic, as was my pint. Only managed one drink but will definitely be back. Highly recommend 👍

A very cool bar in Glasgow's East end across the road from the legendary Barrowland Ballroom (The Barras). A great selection of beers, cocktails and spirits as well as some very quaffable wines. Friendly, helpful staff and occasional food pop-ups from some of Glasgow's best. They also do their own excellent toasties. Just a great place, really.

Looking for a place that you can recommend with confidence. This is it. Location = Glasow's history. Drinks = Every flavour has been spot on.
