Reviews of The Loveable Rogue
J. T.
Wonderful experience at The Loveable Rogue. The food was delicious, with ideal portions, and the service was very friendly and considerate. We had to wait a few minutes to be seated as the place was busy, but were able to order drinks & peruse the menu at this time.
Due to how busy this place can get, I'd highly recommend booking a table in advance. It is very much worth the effort.
The only thing I could fault this pub/restaurant on is their very small selection of scotch whisky, which you would expect to be more eclectic in Glasgow!
Highly recommend this restaurant!

Fantastic Sunday lunch, roast beef with all the trimmings including Mac & cheese. Very busy but service was spot on & all the food was excellent. First visit but already planning our next visit.
C. L.
Great experience at The Loveable Rogue. Food was absolutely top notch and service was great as well. Couldn't fault it really, Pork Belly main and Sticky Toffee dessert were amazing 🙌🏻
I. S.
Really enjoyed our experience- a delicious and reasonably priced tasting menu. Kitchen were nice to accommodate an allergy too. Would go again to try a different menu.
V. R.
Beautiful. This has to be the best Roast in Glasgow. Fabulously cooked, brilliant ingredients. Lovely staff, fabulous. We will absolutely be back
C.
Lovely cosy pub with a nice chilled atmosphere. We went for drinks, but the food menu looked amazing too. Cocktails were delicious.

Found ourselves in this wonderful restaurant at the weekend. No booking but staff found us a table in a busy evening and after that things only got better. Atmosphere brilliant, setting brilliant, food exceptional but most of all staff were amazing. Carly and Max were attentive engaging and joined in our fun evening. Can't wait to return. Maybe for Sunday lunch. Excellent find.

We’ve eaten here 5 times in 6 months.. it’s that good! Their Sunday roast is epic, tonight we had the valentines tasting menu, amazing flavours & textures, what a talented team in the kitchen. The front of house staff are super lovely. Relaxed dining at its very best. We’ll done, can’t wait to come back 🤤

Fantastic, fresh and tasty food. Not something you see very often, but the whitebait and garlic aioli starter was delicious, as was the lobster roll. Staff very friendly and great atmosphere - Would highly recommend this place!
D. M.
Very nice inside. Staff were lovely and the food was excellent.
I. F.
Incredible food, and amazing service from the young fella. 💪🏼 Highly recommend this place.

Love love love this place ! Popped in for a bit of lunch today - wasn’t busy on a stormy Wednesday afternoon but still a lovely cosy vibe- food was fantastic, staff were brilliant, music was fabulous, everything was perfect- could have stayed all day! Will definitely return and would highly recommend to everyone:-))

I would give this restaurant 6 stars if I could.
We always book in advance so we definitely get a table.
The staff are so friendly and welcoming. The food is unreal! It's so delicious and every time we have been it just gets better and better. When our friends come from out of town we always pop in the loveable rogue as we know we will never be disappointed by quality or service.
The Sunday lunch is without fail the best Sunday lunch i have ever tasted and our friends said the same.
My friend has severe allergies and the kitchen staff couldn't have made her feel more comfortable and she was able to eat all the food with confidence her allergies had been taken seriously.
The atmosphere is relaxed and cosy. It's great for small groups or couples. Can't recommend this place enough.
See you in a few weeks for some more tastey food.

Amazing roast. Such delicious beef. And a whole ready of sides. Staff were on point at all times . Hard to fault! The desert was amazing Also! Will be back
R. B.
Probably one of the best Sunday roasts I've and definetly one of the best in Glasgow. I'd pass on the coffee though, not great. Much better spots for coffee about

111 is local to me and been a favourite for years. Not only is the food excellent, the ethos that Nico has of empowering people in his employment really resonates.
So in Jan this year a wee while after it opened I was intrigued to see what Nico had come up with Public House.
I went with a mate and we loved every single dish. The food was delicious. The menu changes (and I've been out of commission for a good few mths) so I can't remember the exact names of those dishes from January. But what I do remember is how courteous and helpful the staff were in letting us try a few things and explain what was in some of the dishes as the flavours were great.
I'm looking forward to going back. Especially for the Sunday Roast.

This gastro pub serves great local food for fair prices, in a very pleasant atmosphere. There is a pub menu (what we took), not super fancy but nice and on the cheaper side, and a restaurant menu with more upscale dishes (reflected in higher prices). If you want a taste of Scottish food come here and you'll find something right for your palate and your wallet! Also the staff was really really nice and present but not intruding, and during the evening a couple of guys started playing lovely live music on guitar and violin.
D. S.
Not really a fan of the 'small plates' concept unless it's tapas in Spain however this was well done. Staff were excellent, service was very attentive. Chicken Kiev was delucious. Desserts were small and over priced in my opinion.
J. D.
This is the best gastropub in Glasgow. The food at Public House is classic and innovative pub grub executed at the top level, what you expect from Nico. There is an emphasis on local Scottish cuisine with arbroath smokie coquettes, scotch eggs, haddock and chips, mussels, and mackerel. The menu is varied with something for everyone (veggies, gluten free, carnivores..). The highlight was the stunningly cooked pork chop -- the best I've had in Scotland. The drinks menu is carefully crafted and features local craft beer and wide ranging wine selection. Great for after work drinks and a snack, brunch with friends, or a group night out. Just go and enjoy great food, comfortable atmosphere, and attentive service.
J. B.
The most amazing Sunday roast! Haven't found a roast as good as it in Glasgow so far.
J. C.
Food was amazing 😋 really enjoyed it infact there was three of us and all of us were impressed
I. F.
The serve is excellent although I would say the food is a little niche, having to order side dishes rather than have then included.
I. P.
The staff are attentive, the food is amazing, I love this place!
F. M.
Love this place. Impeccable service, amazing food guaranteed and great cocktail list. Great wee West End gem.
W. R.
Staff brilliant and very helpful, food brilliant and tasty. Only gripe (as it always is) price of the wine.
That's why only a 4
J. C.
The sharing plates were scrummy, there was a good choice of dishes.
I. W.
We had the 6 course tasting menu and loved every mouthful of it, it was delicious.
D.
Thoroughly recommend this has to pub. What a roast dinner and pudding to match. Thank you
I. C.
Delicious food and cocktails. Service great and a really relaxed vibe. Crowd pleasing menu which did not disappoint. Homemade chicken and chorizo pie with side of triple cooked chips a particular highlight. Thoroughly recommend!

Visited tonight for my fiancé’s birthday and so glad we did. We live in walking distance and have always seen how popular it is, now we know why.
We shared 3 main plates with 2 sides, everything was incredibly fresh and cooked to absolute perfection. We couldn’t fault a single thing, if it was socially acceptable to lick the plate - we would of. We’ll definitely be back!
T.
Really excellent food. You can go big and heavy or light and tasty, whatever you fancy. We had the octopus with black garlic and the mackerel with dill with a beetroot salad and a chicory salad. Superb.
d. g.
Good food and drinks but overall slow service.
E. M.
Had a takeaway Sunday roast from here tonight and it was utterly delicious! Everything tasted incredible and was cooked to perfection. It traveled surprisingly well and was so easy to assemble. Brilliant value too. Will definitely order again!
C. H.
Had a very nice meal here. Wonderful hospitality. Strongly recommend giving it a try
A. P.
Great food , great drinks and an amazing ambiance. Especially love the open view into the kitchen and Harris Tweed chairs and other accents. Very cool would 100% recommend.
G. Q.
Service, very welcoming and food flavour delicious. Portion sizes good. Mussels were large and and tasty
C. B.
Lovely food with an interesting menu. The chicken and mushroom pie was lovely. The churro which comes as a savoury snack is something really different and super tasty! Nice service. The place is not adequate for social distancing though, we went there and it was full ans tables quite close together.
C. M.
Great food, great service, will deffo be back 👍
C. R.
Excellent food and excellent staff. Regardless of how delicious and awe-inspiring the food was it was the staff that made my experience and made my night!
g. c.
Very nice meal, good service and nice drinks. We had the smoked trout and also crab ravioli for starters, both were very good, with the crab ravioli verging on excellent. We both had leek and mushroom pie with sides of creamed mashed potatoes and roasted root vegetables, both complemented the pie. An excellent glass of merlot to accompany the main. Neither of us was able for a dessert, so a coffee and tea to finish off a very tasty and pleasant meal. Second time we have been, and we will definitely return.
S. H.
Had lunch there today. Food was excellent and the service relaxed but efficient.
Not the cheapest but definitely worth the little extra for some high quality eating.
Highly recommended.

Amazing food. Proper place to taste some decent Scottish dishes. The service was excellent and the people friendly. We got a table outside so we got the chance to dine at a beautiful spot of Great Western Road, during a warm summer evening.
I. C.
This place has an amazing atmosphere and outstanding food. I went here for my birthday dinner with my partner and we both had an excellent time. Friendly, fast service of brilliantly crafted food at reasonable prices. A great Scottish atmosphere as a treat for yourself or to give any non-Scottish visitors a literal taste of Scotland.
J. R.
Sluggish service. Food was well prepared and tasty.
F. B.
Well, ordered a roast dinner and picked it up for takeaway at 11 today. Amazing.
Got recommended by a neighbour who was raving about it.
Genuinely it's that good, I've actually taken a breather from eating it right now to post a review :D. #truestory.
Get involved.
Now to find out if they plan to do Christmas dinners...
M. K.
Lots of lovely fish dishes as promised. Fish pie I had was a bit too salty, but friends had lovely mussels and fish and chips. Do feel they need to offer a meal deal. It was quite quiet for a Saturday lunchtime and maybe this reflects the prices. A house wine would be good too.
F. b.
This is a great place. I love being able to see into the kitchen. The menu is amazing and everything we tried was perfect. Great decor and vibe.
D. H.
Just had the best Sunday roast lunch ever.
Staff delightful and Covid protocols first class

2 course Sunday lunch and 2 drink plus bread and butter £52. If you're expected to be blown away, I am sorry to disappoint. My beef was cold and 1/3 fat, soggy roast potatoes but dry in the middle, almost like they'd been in the microwave or on a hot plate too long. Yorkshire were dry and not enough gravy to satisfy. Perhaps if there was more I wouldn't have noticed the temperature of the beef. Overall very average roast and certainly not worth the price tag. Schooners being the only option for draught is a bit pretentious.
Friendly, attentive staff and nice decor. Best thing of the day, the sticky toffee pudding.
Was really expecting something better from the infamous Nico but that experience today wasn't one to remember unfortunately.
C. o. G.
Guys you’ll need to up the game with the fish pie ….. all potato & peas and hardly any fish . Other than the odd slither of salmon it was virtually non existent. Service was slow but just about acceptable… but pleasant staff.
B. M.
Decor is stunning, staff are very friendly and attentive. Food was excellent, we had haggis and churros to start, Cote De Bouf for the main and dark chocolate praline for dessert. Looking forward to our next visit.
D. C.
Scottish produce right down to the boutique Gin selection. Lovely staff. Good layout with a cosy area around the bar and an open area for dining. Small enough to feel intimate but not cramped either, and neither too formal nor informal, its right on the balance.
One thing I have to say though, is that I think the food here is simply outstanding at least in my experience. I'm not a food critic. I'll leave it at that. There are quite a few good eateries in Glasgow but if you're here this is a place you should try out.
K. B.
Fantastic venue. Two menus for choice. Food was fish based and delicious. Smoked haddock croquettes to die for. Monkfish cheek scampi was a triumph. My fish & chip main? Well, it was a whale and chips! Beautifully cooked. No space for dessert unfortunately. A definite must to visit.
S. C.
Brilliant Sunday lunch - excellent staff and nice website too - easy to use!

A.
Ate here twice so far - once for dinner, once for breakfast. Amazing food both times, good service and atmosphere. Reasonably priced too. Can't wait to try the new cocktail menu, which wasn't released when I was there last (but I gather is now).
J. L.
Lovely place!
I was just in for some drinks but the food looked delicious too!
L. C.
This little place has it all. The food is unbelievable, the atmosphere is great. The staff are so friendly and enthusiastic about the food they serve. Hats off to the chefs. Don't miss out make sure you give it a try
R. D.
Perhaps a work in progress considering its a new place, but the Sunday roast fell a bit short for the price. Imo a bit cheeky to charge a supplement for the beef, considering the portion size is half that of the pork chop. That being said, I would recommend the pork chop - a good size which ensures the meat does not go dry. Yorkie Pud was crispy like a poppadum; but swiftly replaced. Potatoes bland. A shared portion of cauliflower cheese even though I was expecting my own. Sticky toffee pudding - cake was exceptional, but miserly drizzle of butterscotch sauce let the dish down. Overall, lots of promise but some tinkering to be done yet.

Warm, cosy, super friendly service. Very tastefully decorated. Good menu, excellent value. Really well worth a visit, the mussels were fantastic.
