Our favourite place in Glasgow to eat, the owner is so lovely and the food is the best we have ever had eating out, we have been loads of times just us two and with our 4 kids and they always make them feel welcome, we've booked in for Xmas this year and can't wait 😀

Visited the Mailcoach today for a very late lunch. There was only around a dozen other diners already in there, but we still managed to get a table close to the roaring log fire, the place is nice and cosy and quite olde world charm, no plastic fantastic furnishing here, thank goodness. The service was good and soon there was a nice chilled pint of Bud and a glass of Chardonnay on the table while we scanned the menu. There was a great selection of meals to choose from, and I was just about to order a steak, when one of the servers brought me to the attention of the Chefs specials on the blackboard, there was Lamb shank with creamy mash and a minted gravy that caught my attention, also, chicken in a cream.pepper sauce with haggis and black pudding and Rosemary potatoes. All the food is cooked fresh, so expect a little waiting time, before you knew it, two large plates of food appeared at the table. The Lamb shank was succulent and melt in your mouth tender, the mash was lovely and creamy and the minted gravy the best! The feedback on the chicken dish was top notch. On being presented with the sweet menu, my preferred choice of sticky toffee pudding was sold out : ( However, I opted for my second choice, the apple crumble and custard, it arrived along with a separate little jug of piping hot custard, the other sweet had ice cream : ) this amazing two course meal left both of us full for the day, che cost including drinks was LESS than £40.00!! Fantastic value for money! I can see myself returning here once a month at these great prices, and good service too!

Its a nice wee pub. My first time in it. I was at a funneral at daldowy and was it Mailcoach afterwards for tea, coffee, sandeaches and sausage rolls. I also had a few fresh orange juices and lemonades before going away.

My hubby and I love the steak dinner you could cut steak with a butter knife it is so tender and delicious. The staff are really welcoming and take time to speak to you.Fantastic menu and I will get round to trying other dishes but I just cannot pass the steak. The mail coach hosted our reception after a funeral service. The staff were fabulous and seamlessly adjusted to increased headcount from 40 to 47. The choice of menu items was good and the food was all delicious. Very efficient and friendly service catering to such a big number in a short time. There was also no pressure on us to leave after the meal and we were welcomed to stay and chat with all our guests. I would highly recommend holding a function here.

Lovely surroundings inside and on looking outside into the garden area with benches. Rather inviting, to be sitting out on a sunny afternoon. Mailcoach provided funeral function recently for a special wee lady I knew. Lovely meals indeed. Beautiful well cooked fish and seemed very fresh. Only negativity was the fact staff focused on taking alcohol/drink orders rather than providing tea/coffee after the meal. We had to leave prompt due to the fact my elderly relative needed tea to take with her medication. Considering that the majority of the time people who attend funerals are older people, the staff hosting the funeral purvies should recognise that many people enjoy tea/coffee at these functions: whether young or old, in need of hot drinks for medications or non alcoholic drinkers. The tea/coffee serving is of as much importance at a funeral function as raising a glass to our dearly beloveds. Constructive criticism is fair. Otherwise 5 stars instead of 4.

Food is always great. Especially steak pie, good sized portions. Keep thinking I'm gonna try something new but always just order it. Lentil soup is decent and and only tried a sundae, which I never really enjoyed, too much ice cream and it's too small. Staff - generally nice but service can be a little slow, especially when place is over half full and staff don't seem to communicate with each other (you'll get someone talking to you and 5mins later someone else will ask the same think etc) Make sure you get your loyalty card - only 1 member of staff has ever asked me if I have 1. I've had to mention to others to get it signed.

We arrived without a booking even tho they were fully booked they were kind enough to make space for us. The staff were freindly welcoming and very attentive and the enviroment warm and inviteting . Food was excellent, nice sized portions. I had the mince and potatoes and my husband had penne with cheese both were lovely and presentation if food was nice. Told steak pie is lovely so that's for next visit. The staff are nice and friendly. Well worth a visit if you haven't tried the place before.

The first time I've ever been to this venue, the staff were terrific very accommodating and nothing was a bother to them. My reason for being there was not ideal as my mother had just passed on and we were having soup sandwiches and sausage rolls etc every thing was really nice we all had a really good visit. I would recommend it to anyone they also cater for weddings and other functions.

I booked for after funeral venue for my dear wee mum for approx 40 people and we had almost 70 turn up. Staff were amazing and accommodated everyone to a full cooked meal. All plates were cleared by all guest so that itself states how good the food was 👌 after all guest had left myself and some close family members went into bar area for some drinks, again staff were amazing and we had a good bit of banter with them, really recommend this place as a venue for a meal. Only As a wee suggestion the Carpark shrubbery could be cut back and tidied up as this might be a bit off putting for first time visitors, this in no way reflects how good the food and services are. I strongly recommend 😀👍🏼

I come here every Sunday and it's always lovely! Food is amazing, Staff are so friendly and helpful! It can get a bit loud if there is football on but it's mostly quiet. A great place to bring your dog for a nice dinner!

Went there after funeral service. More people turned up than expected but staff coped very well with the situation. My sister and 2 girls popped in for lunch after not knowing u were open. The last time we were there was over 15 years. When the smugglers across the road. We thoroughly enjoyed our mussels,breaded mushrooms, steaks and salmon. Absolutely top notch food. Would definitely rival fancy ones in Glasgow. Wee woman who served us was lovely. Great nature. Nothing was too much for her! Good staff like her is scarce, hold on to her, she is an asset! Got a loyalty card and will be spreading the word and definitely coming back! Can't praise you enough. Food was lovley great big portions my family took me for a lovley meal thier was 6 of us and not one of us had a complaint although 2 of us that had the stew in the steak pie found it a little tough but all in all the gravy in the steak pie was lovley and some stew was lovley ..the desserts were beautifull although £5 each is a little stiff for a pub but was lovely the staff was also great highly recommend will be going back nxt week and think this will be our new regular 😊

Been to the Mailcoach a few times and when home from California this time my visit was an unexpected one, parking layout is adequate for the location and decor was new within the toilets and out lunch was 5 stars as expected. Nice atmosphere inside and staff are ever so helpful and friendly. Will visit here again as makes a nice day or night being within an establishment with the homely feel.
