This is a private club. The man on duty was so informative. What a great selection of whiskeys. If you ever want to know the intricate details of Scotch this gentleman is full of knowledge. Though you must be a member I highly recommend that you visit for a better understanding of Scotch

Could do with some dedicated vegan friendly options, but managed to make a good meal from nachos without cream and cheese, and glad to see good veggie options at a traditional pub like this. We have been in the pub after the Simple Minds gig on 6/4/2022. Suddenly the live music played Don‘t you forget about me. My mate from Bergen (born in Glasgow) called the pub to play it. Simply great! Aside this - best pub in Glasgow and widest whisk(e)y selection of Scotland. A must visit. Feels like your living room.

I was initially on the fence about this place because of bad reviews on tripadvisor. It was actually good! The bartenders are friendly and attentive. I ordered the Scottish tapas (mince and tatties, fish and chips, clapshot) It was all piping hot and tasted fresh. The whisky was also good.

Really great expirience overall. Enjoyed the burger and the drinks. Also the live music was extremely fitting. Why its missing 2 stars? The fries and the Ambience. I believe a burger is no good without hand it fries. The fries here weren't even mcdonald's standard and tasted boring. The ambience was alright, yet there were massive bright ceiling lights illuminating the entire pub, making us feel like on a presentation plate rather than in a pub. So not quite the "pub vibe" that we were looking for...

Difficult to judge on the basis of having one quick pint at 1 in the afternoon. However I'd go in again that's not just because the bar lady was 'a nice person' 😉. It's because to me it's a nice pub in a nice location. Only drawback for me is that the facilities are upstairs.

Love this place, especially at the weekend - if it's not live music, it's one of the best music sets in Glasgow- whether you want to get up and strut your stuff or reminiscence of your hay day, this is the place to be!!! Never not had a great time in the Piper bar. Always friendly staff, never a long wait for drinks. Super knowledgeable on their whisky, always happy to recommend, plus there's the malt of the money. Great place for tourists and locals alike. If you want a traditional Scottish Highlands restaurant feel but right in the centre of Glasgow, you can't go wrong with the Piper. Food is traditional pub grub and tremendous, recommend the fish n chips and the chicken Balmoral

Lovely friendly staff and great food. I ordered the Cullen Skink and was no disappointed at all. It's like Irish seafood chowder but with only smoked haddock. Only £4.95 but I was stuffed after it. Amazing food choice in here.

Great idea having a bouncer on the door to make sure that the number of people getting in doesn't make it overcrowded.. Went here for a retirement do on 26/11/18. I have been here before but only in bar downstairs. Felt that the function suite was a wee bit cramped for the number of people there. I had to climb over chairs just to get to a table space. The music was good from the DJ but having initially only 1 barman was a bit naff. I can't speak for the buffet as I did not partake of the food ,but it smelled and looked good. Got to say the first barman coped very well and they had to replace him before I left with 2 others later on in the evening. I nearly missed the lassie's toilets as due to the "female stewards/concierges" stuff all around the sink I mistook it for the kitchen initially. Why was she there as she was practically on her phone the whole time. She did say something but I couldn't understand it.

Great little pub with classic pubfare. Based on the location I was expecting a hip cocktail lounge but that is not the case. The bar keep was a super friendly older chap and the place filled up rather nicely when the live band started playing. It was definitely am older crowd of which I am certainly a member.

Wow - what a selection of malts! Very atmospheric. And with live music that wasn't obtrusive - you could still hold a conversation. Ask for the "Malt of the Month"...... Chances are you won't be disappointed - and at an incredible price. I could have stayed a lot longer than I did, but then I did have to be up early the next morning....

Apart from the range of whisky in offer there is a large selection of good lagers with a limited selection of other beers. It's not a large bar and that coupled with an area set aside for a band taking up a quarter of the floor space meant we left after one drink as the atmosphere was getting claustrophobic.

Love this place! Cozy pub-like setting with amazing food for quite a good price. The selection of food and alcoholic drinks is great, they've often got live performances and the staff is very pleasant and helpful. The only negative about this place is the stairs and dwindling hallways to find the restroom, and that it's very often overcrowded.

If you want a mid Saturday afternoon until late on singer followed by DJ playing 70s and 80s music then this is ideal. If you want to sing and dance then this is the place. Great for a group if you want a laugh then yes give it a go. Amarillo comes on and folk are up doing the slosh. As usual the women know how to do this. Majority of guys...nope because although they may know some of it they're guaranteed to turn the wrong way at some point. It ain't Strictly. If you want a quiet place for a drink and a chat then either retreat to the stairs, the toilet or go elsewhere.

Stopped in because of the reviews and they are spot on. Malt of the month for 2.95 was Old Pulteney 12. Steak and ale pie and a pint rounded out the lunch visit. Only reason I am not giving a 5 is that it took awhile to get noticed even though I was sitting right in front of the bar. It's all good though. It is vacation after all.

I had my retirement night out on november 10 and it was fantastic and ennoyed by all who attended. Some of my colleagues described the buffett as the best they have ever tasted.
