Reviews of The Pot Still
P. L.
Great place, very welcoming. High expertise regarding scotch choice for newbies like me. Reasonable prices and friendly staff. Highly recommended, a real great souvenir I will keep from Scotland.
C. A.
Excellent traditional pub with a great range of whisky. None of the false theme park stuff you find in so many other pubs nowadays. Staff are professional, knowledgeable and helpful. Just wonderful. Go there for a beer and a whisky. You know it makes sense.
R. S.
Amazing bar, the staff are so friendly approachable and knowledgeable, a real credit to the place and their craft.
Whiskey drinkers of any knowledge are welcome here, they really do make you feel welcome.
P. C.
Booked whisky tasting and wasnt disappointed. unrivaled selection of whiskeys and the tasting was tailored to the group. great background into each of the 5 selected whiskies including why taste and colour achieved. good selection of other drinks available and great atmosphere. well worth a visit
B. W.
Brilliant. Very highly recommend if you're visiting Glasgow and would like a drink, especially whisky! Even if whisky is not your thing they do a variety of gins etc, something for everyone.
Staff are extremely helpful and helped me pick a float to enjoy different flavours based on preferences I told them. The float comes numbered with a sheet that contains all of the information about the whisky which is nice to read whilst enjoying the drinks. Same with the gin, they helped my girlfriend pick a gin that she really enjoyed!
Definitely worth a visit when is Glasgow!
K. K.
Best whisky bar in the world! Drank great whisky and learned a ton from Andrew. Must stop by if you love whisky or are at all curious. And if not, they have good beer too!
s.
One of our favourite pubs whenever we visit Glasgow.
Always vibrant, always busy and fantastic bar staff.
If only more pubs were this good.
K. S.
We had a tasting menu to try 5 different Scottish whiskeys. (Perfect for sharing between couples) It was fun and great to know what sort of Whiskeys we both like. The pub was beautifully decorated and had a lovely atmosphere. We’d love to visit again!
R. F.
The best Whisky pub & publican in Glasgow, amazing selection, with the most knowledgeable staff. If you’re not for sure what to pick just tell the barman what you usually like/don’t like in your whisky and they’ll point you in the right direction. It does get busy but just relax and enjoy the chat, usually some friendly locals mixed in with the tourists and the team works hard pouring a shocking amount in a short time!
R. L.
The Pot Still is exactly what people say it is - a traditional Scottish bar stacked with a ton of whiskeys, sells hot pies till late, and it's usually very lively - but the staff are brilliant and part of the fun of visiting there. This isn't a big bar and it can get busy so don't hold that against it, it's a popular place to visit for locals and tourists - but that's the point, you have to visit it, at least once. Treat yourself to a few drams and one of those pies!
t.
Fantastic atmosphere. Good pints and draught options including Heverlee which I love. Whisky selection is incredible and the pies are a nice Scottish addition to a fairly touristy drinking spot. Staff are knowledgeable and you get served quickly. Malt of the month is value for your money. Loses a star for the toilets. Were pretty grim when I was in on a busy Saturday night. Just felt quite tatty which given how much money they must be taking shouldn’t be the case
S. H.
Popular for a reason. Biggest and best whiskey selection I've ever come across. Ask the barkeeps for recommendations. They will take the time to explain and won't let you down.
A. W.
Great experience!!! Had my first whiskey tasting here, the bartender was so nice and friendly to gave all of the relevant information about which whiskey I should get. All other patrons were nice and vibey as well. Recommended place. Great crowd. EVEN GREATER selection of drinks.
R. J.
Fantastic place to visit. Amazing selection of Malt Whisky and the staff were all really friendly.
VERY busy while we were there. It was a Saturday afternoon in Glasgow City Centre, so you would expect it to busy.
Check out their online menu/price list too. It talks about them doing Whisky tastings. I also asked one of the staff about it and it sounds fantastic. We will definitely be booking that!
All in all a fabulous place to visit. Just remember you are in a 'pub', so don't be expecting a fancy wine bar or something!
Highly recommended if you are a whisky lover.
J. B.
Great whisky recommendations from the staff, excellent atmosphere. Don't miss this while you're in town.
C. A.
Cool! The guys from the bar very friendly. Great scotch whisky, but also nice for some pints😎
N. W.
Incredible experience. The knowledge of the staff here is fantastic. I had the great pleasure of drinking Whiskeys that I would not have thought of (without their guidance). I couldn't recommend this place highly enough.
J. C.
Fantastic pub set in the heart of Glasgow, the knowledge of Whiskey is immense. 100% need a visit, you will not be disappointed.
N. C.
I believe that this is essentially the temple of Whiskey. You get to experience an amazing selection of Scotch that would satisfy everyone.
If you're unsure which one to pick, go for one of their "Flights". A round of 6 whiskey to enjoy together with an informative leaflet that helps you enjoy your time.
e. p.
The bat tender has excellent knowledge of whiskey. They will ask you the taste you would like, sweet, smoky…etc. Once you make the choice, they will selection several types for you to smell. And you could make a decision by smell. Of course you could order a set of whiskey tasting. It’s alway true by smell!
S. J.
Great place to try a huge variety of Whisky from across the world.
Despite not being a Whisky drinker I enjoyed 2 measures of Redbreast 21. Not cheap but sooo good. We met a lovely young couple- Jordan & Abbie from Seattle USA and spent the evening discussing different Whiskies and how to improve the flavour with a few drops of water.
Great night. The guy serving us behind the bar was so knowledgeable too 🤗
M. T.
A great place to go. We had time to spare in Glasgow and went here. It was quiet at the beginning of lunch time. I enjoyed the Scottish coffee and my husband his wee dram. A great selection. We were really impressed with the prices too. Also enjoyed the pie meals...just the right size for a lunch time snack
O. R.
Excellent staff and great local beer selection.
The variety of whiskey is staggering.
A true gem.
J. W.
This place is fantastic. From the moment you walk in there is a great, friendly buzz about the place. The staff are so knowledgeable and friendly and assist you in picking your whiskeys. A must visit in Glasgow!
A. G.
Honestly if there is one pub you visit in Glasgow you need to make it this one. Yes, it does get crowded and yes it is loud. But that adds to the charm. Their whisky selection is incredible and every member of the staff was welcoming. Even if you don't know much about whisky, they are still helpful. You will find a great mix of locals, tourists, whisky enthusiasts and all around great people.
M. O.
Booked a whisky tasting about a week in advance. Choose the style of your preference (we asked for local, small distilleries) and the knowledgeable barstaff will plot a whisky adventure. There were no other bookings at the time so our guide sat with us at the table, providing a private 1:1 whisky tour of 8 varied selections. He explained the reasons for the selections and helped us identify characteristics of each, including the type of barrel, effect of aging, etc. My wife and I gained a great deal of knowledge and experience from this tasting and it set the bar for the rest of our Scotland travels. The bar itself was bustling for 4pm on a weekday. It's a popular spot and rightfully so. Looking forward to visiting again when in Glasgow. Highly recommended!
H. G.
Bartenders really knew their whiskey! They were happy to recommend even though they were busy. Will be coming here again next time we're up in Glasgow.
D. E.
One of the absolute best whisky bars in Scotland, amazing selection and very reasonable prices with highly knowledgeable and friendly staff. Csnnot recommend highly enough!
A. H.
The barkeepers are all very knowledgable, and will provide an excellent selection if you mention your preferred style, price point and experience level with whisky. This whisky bar has more options than you can reasonably explore in years.
It was fun watching them clamber up the ladders or shelves to retrieve bottles they clearly did not engage with on a daily basis. The malt of the moment was well curated.
There is a small food selection, and the pub definitely becomes crowded in the evening.
Easily located in central Glasgow.
G. P.
Such a great pub with a huge whisky range, plus cask beers too. There's no whisky list but the staff are brilliant and will choose bottles for you depending what you ask for. All round top place, my favourite pub in Glasgow.
C. B.
A very cool bar with an excellent selection of whiskies. The bar tenders are quite knowledgeable and helpful with choosing good whiskies. I had the Tour of Scotland flight which was well worth it. I highly recommend a visit here I'd you are in town.
D. J.
Oh my gosh! What a great place to try a dram or two. VERY helpful staff. Definitely stop and ask for something tasty
I. M.
I absolutely love The Pot Still. It's perfect for pints with friends where they have a great selection of beers and ales, to a quick dram or better still, a night of adventure exploring the unbelievable Whisky Gantry. Hundred and hundreds of interesting drams, from standard range to very rare expressions. There is something for everyone.
Did I mention the team behind the bar and the management team are great craic and full of knowledge and banter.
B. F.
They don't just give you a shot here, the bartenders curate a selection then let you smell a number of whiskeys to come up with the fit. Highly recommended!
S. M.
Great atmosphere very friendly, huge choice of Whisky's and Beers ..great Pies 😋. Can't wait to return 🥃🍻🥮
B. C.
In for one drink on Monday evening .not many seats available, but fantastic range of whiskey.
G. M.
Wow. 800 whiskies to choose from can be overwhelming, but the staff was helpful in choosing what I'd like. Excellent spot to pick a whisky from all over Scotland.
v. b.
What a place. Hundreds of whisky at all type of price, bust mostly accessible. A very knowledgeable and easy going staff. Everyone in Glasgow should give it a go at least once!
i. y.
Proper Glasgow boozer. Unrivalled whisky selection decent staff and central location. I'd choose this over the high street chains every time.
G. J.
The Pot Still is an experience. Whether you're an experience whisky drinker or an amateur like me, the Pot Still has something for you as seen to by an extremely approachable staff. The bar itself is a bit unassuming but I think that definitely adds to its charm. If you find yourself in Glasgow city centre, it's a must try.
V. W.
So good. Rich choices of whisky and local beer. Authentic. I really like this spot.
M. D.
Had a lovely couple of hours on this pub. Fantastic atmosphere and excellent Scottish real ales.
M. A.
First time in Glasgow so take this with a grain of salt, but everything was fantastic! They allow toddlers (my 1.5 y/o nephew) to sit it. They aren't judgemental about how much you know (or don't) about whiskey, and the food is great! 100% recommended if you want a bite to eat and a drink, and 1000% if you like whiskey.
B. Q.
Fun night. This is similar to wine tasting- except they do whiskey. We did not do a flight but only sampled two. The bartender was attentive and focussed on serving his customer. Scottish experience.
I. B. R.
The best distillery in Glasgow. Very king and knowledgeable staff.
G. C.
A must see. Awesome selection of whiskey. Bartenders will help you select. Only one issue, it is small and very crowded. You can set up private tastings.
T. R.
Phenomenal whisky offering and friendly staff willing to make fair recommendations to someone who knows very little about whisky. Small pub but nice atmosphere and a must visit if you want to sample some Scottish whisky
A. k.
Amazing Whiskey collection and Draught/ Bottled German beer collection, pie not so good, was ok but expected the pie better.
N. S.
Friendly, knowledgeable staff… and drinkers. Incredible find. Unexpectedly… for a pub in Scotland - they stock my favourite Indian whisky! Will return
L. B.
A great spot to grab a pie and a drink. Would love to come back for a whisky tasting.
H. R.
An excellent bar with a great array of whiskies and knowledgeable and friendly staff. A very lively and popular bar. It can be often difficult to get a seat, but the atmosphere is enjoyable.
A. S.
Amazing selection and the staff is super knowledgeable. They will cater to your tastes and price point, 100% recommend coming here.
R. B.
Lovely pub with an incredible selection of whiskeys and even better service and recommendations. I haven't found any place in Glasgow that could live up to the warm, welcoming atmosphere and classyness that this places has to offer!
L. B.
Phenomenal value for money. The Pot Still pie is square sausage, haggis, and black pudding wrapped in pastry and topped with mashed potatoes. It's £4, about 1,000 calories, and I'm ordering three next time. One of the best malt whisky selections I've ever seen too.
A. J.
I absolutely loved this pub. Fantastic atmosphere; knowledgeable, helpful staff; great whisky selection and super pies. Why go anywhere else?
A. C.
Lived up to the hype! Massive selection of whiskies. Staff were knowledgable, organised and friendly - very impressive given how busy it was. Pricing was good. A must-visit for any whisky fan
I. U.
Best staff, best whiskies 🥃, best advice. The place where you truly feel you are in Scotland 🏴❤️
Try the pies!
J. A.
I cannot say enough about the staff at this place. They know their whisky, and take their time to walk you through recommendations. Some pretty rate drama here as well
P. J.
Very nice pub with so pleasant staff. Perfect place for whisky lovers and even beginners. I can just recommend!!!
S. M.
Brilliant wee pub in the heart of Glasgow, amazing selection of whisky and good beers.
Always very busy so expect to stand for a while until you get a seat but that's part of the experience.
G. S.
Great selection of whisky, great atmosphere and knowledgeable staff
S. S.
My favourite in Glasgow. A must if you enjoy whisky.
D.
Tasty Scotch Pie and beans plus a nice pint of Tennents, what more could you wish for at lunch time?! Whisky's a plenty if a proper liquid lunch is your preference.
H. M.
Had the chance to stop by this remarkable whisky haunt for a very unique Kilchoman. Bartender was very attentive especially considering the crowd making waiting a painless experience.
E. s.
What a great place - so much whisky and so friendly - even if you don't drink whisky and are asked to choose for other people as it is your round - I smelt a lot of whiskies!
V. V.
Awesome ambience and a good place to visit for some drinks.
K. S.
If you like your Whiskey this is a must visit, even if you don’t it’s just a great little pub. Friendly chatty staff and what seems to be a nice mixed crowd of customers.
A. V.
Best bar in Glasgow, period. Go here if you love whiskies, these guys know their stuff inside out. They are packed even on Sundays.
Be prepared to hang really close with the locals, who will embrace you and make you feel welcome. Ask for Oran (sp?) …he’s a bonafide rockstar
D. I.
Great pub. Obviously an outstanding selection of whisky but also a good range of beers. Staff are always friendly and helpful
C. L.
Not too crowded even at popular times. Quiet enough to have a chat without shouting. Knowledgeable staff. Warm atmosphere.
J. C.
Excellent bar. So many whiskies to choose from. Great atmosphere.
M. M.
Staff helpful and knowledgeable. Directed me to a peaty Islay and explained the barrelling process
H. P.
The ambience and knowledge of the staff always make this place a must visit when in Glasgow City centre for any whisky lover.
M. H.
If you want to try the proper Scottish whisky that is your place. The bartenders got huge knowledge about what they are serving, they will describe you the place that particular whisky comes from, the bucket and taste.
Z. G.
Great place for whiskey tasting "very helpful staff". Great selection of Scottish beers. Other than the difficulty of finding a seat this place was grand.
S. M.
The most incredible whisky tasting. We went in with an open mind setting a budget and letting Frank the whisky wizard curate a flight for us. We were asked what we liked (completely different ends of the spectrum i.e. delicate v. the peatiest, but agreed we wanted unusual drams) and we both ended up being in awe of the selection.
Frank was very knowledgeable, adventurous in his whisky endeavours and fun to talk to. As geeks we were able to pick his brains and go in depth about the geography of the distilleries as well as the process of distilling the whiskies we were tasting - latter not all the same, one even used smoked water! We ended up taking around 3 hours of Frank’s time including a commercial break to have some pie to avoid getting completely plastered. It was the best whisky tasting experience and we had I’ll be back whenever we drop by Glasgow.
J. P. (.
Huge whiskey selection! The staff is great with their recommendations so don't be afraid to done in blindly and let them help. There is no menu of all the whiskey options so it can be overwhelming for a minute. Didn't get a chance to try the pies. It can get a bit cramped as it is a bit of a smaller bar, but worth the stop.
A. W.
Best whisky bar in Glasgow imo. Lovely place to dive into for respite on a busy shopping trip! Amazing selection of whiskies on the beautiful victorian gantry. Fine selection of pies as well.
D. M.
£42 for a single measure of Glenrothes 25yr was gifted to me by a lovely friend. And it tasted just as lovely as much as it cost.
D. G.
Best place I’ve ever been. 800+ whiskies, friendly and super knowledgeable bartenders. Will absolutely be back and recommend to anyone who is new to whisky or who already loves it. Absolutely could not recommend this bar enough!! Will be back every time I’m in Glasgow.
N. d. L. D.
Great whisky recommendations, huge selection of whiskys (over 600!), very friendly staff. Super animated and noisy (don't hope to make a phone call inside ;-) ), but that's great ambiance for you!
K. F.
Lovely Scottish pub with a grand selection of the good stuff! Warm service, friendly staff.
A. T.
A fantastic gem of a bar. Great friendly atmosphere. Wide selection of draught beers, foreign bottle beers. Vast bank of malt whisky. Knowledgeable staff.
T. C.
Wow! The whiskey selection here is out of control!! I might die. Wish I could come here everyday. Great service and a ridiculous amount of whiskeys to keep anyone happy. I really appreciated the bartender's suggestions and her knowledge is on point!
S. T. G.
They have tour of Scotland six whiskey flight for 17 pounds that is great if you are new to Scotch
W. C.
I made call after call to many different distilleries and pubs to no avail when attempting to book a last minute whiskey tasting as it was something I absolutely had to do while in Scotland. In my quest to find somewhere to do such, I called this place and Sally informed that they usually like to have the tastings booked a week in advance to arrange someone to go through everything with you and give a thorough explanation of each whiskey. This wasn’t quite the news I wanted to hear, so I pressed on trying to find another pub. In the end I went here with my girlfriend and met Sally in person. She explained what my options were to go about a whiskey tasting and my budget and everything. She thoroughly explained each whiskey and held great conversation with my girl and I for the duration of our visit. The pub is very classy, well kept, and clean. The crowd that it tends to attract is also very friendly. This was definitely one of the highlights of our trip and I look forward to visiting again if I’m over back in Scotland. Until then….Godspeed.
J. F.
My favorite place in Glasgow. Had to go twice! The bartenders are all incredibly knowledgeable and helpful and they have an unparalleled selection of whisky. Ask for recommendations, you will not be disappointed. They also have the most delicious little homemade pies. I discovered many a wee dram that I absolutely loved and likely may never try again. What a wonderful time! Can't wait to go back.
J. B.
Limited selection of pies, but good hits with the Pot Still pie (3 layers of deliciousness) and the Scot pie. Great deal for a dram of the monthly whisky. Impressive selection of whisky bottles. Surprisingly, the menu did not list any prices, but the bill ended up being very reasonable! The staff was extremely focused on COVID rules, with an elaborate 1-way system and polite notice not to step anywhere close to the bar.
S. K. F.
Lovely pub to chill and hang out. Well stocked of alcohols.
G. N.
Great whisky bar, small but amazing selection of whiskies. We have been in a couple of times over past couple years, never had a tasting session but will keep it in mind if we staying over always pleased to be given recommendations. Knowledgable staff.Oh and their pies are really good too.
d. b.
This place defies description, the Mecca of whisky bars, any whisky drinker must visit during their lifetime. Staff will deliver a colloquium of the whisky industry to ensure you get the style of whisky you desire. Friendly locals, great atmosphere, I love it!
B. G.
Friendly staff and an amazing choice of whiskies. Very down to earth pub.
J. F.
We had booked a tasting of different beginner-friendly whiskys, but got so much more. We got a conversation for almost two hours with one of the staff, introducing us to the whiskies he had picked for us. Not a lecture, mind, a conversation. Relaxed, interesting, and pleasant.
Would highly recommend this place for whisky lovers as well as for beginners or even those of the whiskycurious persuasion.
J. H.
A must stop for whisky lovers. The walls are decked with every dram imaginable and the staff are on hand and eager to help whatever your budget. We were given thorough and interesting recommendations and then witnessed other patrons all receive unique and different recommendations based on their preferences. Measures are generous 35ml pours and are served in beautiful stemmed nosing glasses so you can really appreciate your drink.
S. M.
The best bar in Glasgow! The staff is super friendly and very knowledgeable.
J. O. M.
Quite possibly one of the finest pubs on the planet. I don't live in Glasgow, or Scotland for that matter but I'd happily make the train journey every week just to call the Potstill my local.
It's shelves are creaking with some of the finest whisky ever produced and yet there are few venues I've ever visited that can be both so granularly specialist while remaining so accessible, humble and warm. A place for everyone.
E. F.
Amazing pub with warm atmosphere , a wide variety of quality whiskies and knowledgeable stuff to guide you choose the right one for you. A must if you love whisky and you are visiting Glasgow.
C. H.
A Scotch drinkers delight, friendly and knowledgeable bar staff laid-back atmosphere one of the great British pubs
D. M. S. S.
Found this amazing little corner of Glasgow's watering hole history.
They happened to have the hard to find Lindores whisky that my friend was seeking for ages as it comes from their ancestral family land where the old Lindores distillery has been revamped.
N. S.
Can't speak highly enough of this fun whiskey bar. The staff is ridiculously knowledgeable and walked is through a variety of different whiskeys to get us the right fit. The bar is full of character and a great spot to spin up small talk with the locals. Highly recommended for any visit to Glasgow!
A. B.
Great whisky bar, very kind stuff and great recomendations to drink
B. L.
Really traditional pub in heart of central Glasgow. Was very busy on a Friday at 5. Large after work crowd. Good vibe, amazing choices however had to really look around for a spot to squeeze in. Was an easy walk from our doubletree hotel or any other in city center. Would say it is worth a stop
I. M.
First visit to this great wee pub last month. Been back since and a gem of a place if you like a malt. Enormous choice and knowledgeable staff.
J. C. (. a. J.
Very good pub not far from Glasgow Central Station. 4 cask beers on handpump when I visited. The pub specialises in whisky and has about 750 different malts available!
S. M.
Brilliant place! The barmen really know their stuff and are happy to spend time advising you. Great authentic interior as well.
S. M.
Best whisky bar I'm glasgow hands down. Knowledgabel and friendly staff and one hell of a selection of whiskys all contained within a thoroughly unpretentious pub setting.
S. H.
Wonderful whisky bar! Staff know their whiskies! Fantastic atmosphere and we learned a lot about whisky this night! Loved it!
b. c.
Fabulous pub on Hope Street. They say, they have 700 whiskies, and who am I to argue with that? They also have a great selection of beers, so it's not just a 'whisky' bar. Fantastic atmosphere there on a Thursday night, buzzing. Staff are very nice, and I can't believe their whiskey knowledge. Watch all the cameras come out when staff take to the ladder up to the top shelf. It's great craic. A must do when you're in Glasgow is

Great whisky bar, huge selection with real ales and friendly staff.
Today a simple lunch
M. B.
Amazing selection of whiskys. Polite staff that can guide you to try something new based on your taste.
J. H.
Fist time wiskey drinker and they were great. They walked me through a bunch of kinds and smelled a ton. I chose two and was only able to finish one. The experience was awesome, if you like scotch this is the place.
I. B.
I enjoyed the time at The Pot Still. The variety if whiskies is absolutely amazing added to the fact that I could find a Portuguese beer there (Super Bock).
H. W.
5/5 what a place !
the selection of whiskies is simply mind blowing
the staff was friendly, knowledgeable and you felt very welcome !!!\also it is cheap, average of 3 pounds for a whisky !
would recommend, cannot wait to be back
thanks
W. W.
My personal favourite when it comes to whisky pubs. Over 700 bottles and the prices are always fair.
The place is normally filled with people all having a great time, never once have I had any issues in here.
Staff are happy to chat and there are plenty of them so you don't wait too long for a drink.
G. M.
One of my favourite whisky bars in Scotland!
Whatever dram you fancy, Frank is more than likely going to have it
J. K.
Fantastic experience, a true delight. Staff are incredibly knowledgeable and the range of whiskies are excellent and well priced. Even the beer selection is decent with a focus on local breweries.
G. M.
Love this place. Amazing whisky selection, quality on tap and there is always a welcome air in the bar. Could spend days on end in this joint!
M. H.
Don't go here. Unless you want to make friends, have great drinks, get served by great people and have a great time. Spent too much here but what awesome memories!
L. C.
Great choice of whisky and fantastic for a people watch with different tourists and types coming into the bar.
M. L.
Great atmosphere, staff take the time to talk to you about the drinks they're pouring, and they make quality recommendations when you're trying something new. It's worth checking out even if it's super busy. That really just adds to the fun
C. K.
There are some great pies here!
S. M.
Great range of whiskies and knowledgeable staff to help you find something new to try.
R. G.
Great pub to visit in Glasgow. Huge selection of Whisky, friendly knowledgeable staff and great atmosphere.
D.
Brilliant, nice staff, amazing selection, malt of month is genius and good value. Wish they'd do some something so the prices were clear and you didnt have to ask each time.
W. G.
One of the best pubs in Glasgow, great atmosphere, friendly staff, and you will always meet someone to talk to.
A. M.
Best whiskey selection I’ve ever seen. Great place for tastings.
C. G.
An amazing range of whisky and staff are lovely and knowledgeable. I wasn't sure what I wanted but staff helped focus my tastes and brought options out for me to smell before deciding. Also tasty pies for food on weeknights, the haggis one was great!
M. T.
Amazing selection of whiskies. Helpful, knowledgeable staff and a great atmosphere. Decent pies too if you fancy a quick bite with your dram. Always worth a visit if in Glasgow.
S. M.
Absolutely cracking wee boozer. Plenty of whisky to satisfy any kind of drinker and some lovely beers, too. Cosy, comfortable, and buzzing.
J. J.
Lovely old pub, if you're a whiskey fan this is the place for you. Staff was very friendly and informative
S. J.
Vibrant beer and whiskey bar, traditional with an amazing buzz, very popular and rightly so, I've never seen so many different whiskeys in a pub and the staff seemed to know their stuff and be able to recommend a drink to suit your taste. Real ale and bottled drinks also served. This pub is about 5 minutes walk from Glasgow Queen Street railway station and easy to find. When really busy you may need to stand but it's a very social pub so sharing a table with strangers not an issue.
M. S.
Such a great pub! With over 700 different types of whiskey, I don’t think you can find a better pub to try some of them out! They also do amazing whiskey testers so you can try more different types and read about them as you sip them! Absolutely great, will be back 100%!
R. P.
What a fabulous bar, if you are in Glasgow you really must try to get in and sample at least one!!
The staff are so friendly, knowledgeable and polite. Thank you, my tot to my grandfather was a memorable moment. He would have loved it too.
N. C.
We visited because we thought we should. I had given up whisky years ago and my two companions didn't like it at all! However, the bar staff were awesome in guiding us to a whisky to try from the hundreds of bottles in this whisky library; the atmosphere was buzzing and convivial. Save to say, we all found our taste for whisky. Great place to visit and enjoy something a bit special.
T. M.
Had a great night in the pot still met a father and son shared some great drams and lager with them. The staff are very knowledgeable about whisky and happy to help you choose a whisky to suit your taste and pocket. A great whisky bar
C.
Easily one of the best whisky bars in Scotland - unreal selection and very friendly and knowledgeable staff. 35 ml measures and you get every drop.
They also do a pie so you have no excuse to leave.
B. M.
Superb selection of whisky. Not just core range whisky but some special bottles picked up from over the years. We will be back.
L. V.
This place was amazing! They had such an amazing selection of whiskey and the staff was super knowledgeable. I wish we could have come back a couple more times.

T. N.
Great whiskey flights! Very much enjoyed the Highlands vs. Islay flight.
M. O.
Great selection of Scotch and whiskeys without breaking the bank. I thought it was more reasonable, relaxed, and fairly price than lots of American places.
M. H.
Love this bar. Great pub atmosphere with friendly staff that really know their whisky and they pack a legendary arsenal. I could spend days there. Highly recommended.
B. f.
Great selection of whisky - over 700! Friendly, helpful service and wonderful atmosphere. Put it on your list to visit
C. I.
This is a truly fantastic pub. There is a great, okay world bending selection of whisky, I believe 200 or so. More importantly this is a place to talk, savour the flavour of whisky, and put the world to rights.
E. I.
This place is absolutely amazing! Dog friendly, a huge range of whisky and beers. Very nice vibe.
B. P.
An old favourite. Great place for biggest selection of whisky. They do normal drinks too.
R. E.
Brilliant traditional whisky pub. Recently won another major award and had been very friendly and welcoming every time I’ve been in. A whisky range to die for, including a few exclusive cask-bottlings of their own to buy in the pub. Can’t rate this highly enough.
J. G.
Very friendly staff and some outstanding whisky treats.

K.
It had to have one of the best selections of whisky in Scotland
P. B.
Diddy bar in the centre of town serving an incredible selection of booze, best known for their Whisky.
Always mobbed, best of luck getting a seat. Great for a quick scoop before dinner in the city or relax after with something stronger.
D. S.
Great pub fantastic whisky knowledge and always got good beers on tap 👌
T. S.
Just love this place a real place to get a proper whiskey experience

Not only will you be able to find every whisky under the sun here, but you'll also find really friendly and knowledgeable staff. It's a very small place so be preapred to stand while enjoying your whisky.

A. A.
Unique place with every whisky under the sun.
s. f.
The best bar so far with excellent and very famous bartender who is an expert on anything that is drinkable
A. B.
This is just a fantastic bar, staff are very friendly and their knowledge is top notch. Also a 35ml, always helps!
F. H.
I can see one big problem : how to survive with the whiskey one can have at home after visiting the Pot Still, a big problem indeed. If you thinl you can, just go and visit the Pot Still!
D. B.
Brilliant. If you haven't been - GO.
They had over 750 different whisky's and knownthe detail and background of then all.
Just say what flavour you like and they will have a whisky suited to you!!!
S. F.
This place was the best. It lived up to the other reviews. Even though the bar was plenty busy, the bartender spent many minutes with me explaining and recommending various whiskies. 💯 recommend.
m. f.
Was friendly and very cosy. A good old fashioned pub.
E.
This is the best whiskey bar in town. I really enjoyed my time at this place and came back multiple times. The staff was friendly, selection never ending, and prices were very fair for what you got. If you like a laid back environment.. and whiskey.... go here if you are in Glasgow.
j. r.
Great pub, great vibe, brilliant service.
Huge whiskey selection and some good cask choices. Loved the meat pies especially the chicken curry.
M. W.
Incredible range of whisky. Excellent, will be back tonight
a.
Great collection of whiskies, very busy both nights, great place for a dram. Or two...
c. o. r.
This place is brilliant - the display of whiskies is truly awesome and it has a wide range of beers and quite a few wines too. It's a traditional pub with regular seating and people come and go for a dram and a chat and it's very friendly + it has no TV! - just good company. My favourite pub in Glasgow!
b.
Superb selection of whiskies, probably unrivalled in Glasgow. Small, and can get very busy at peak times/days, might be best to make a booking if you want to hold onto your table for a few hours, there's plenty of whiskies to try in that time! Never tried their pies, but they did look good. Oh, and a quirky mix of music which is right up my street.
S. M.
Great whisky bar, nice atmosphere, knowledgeable staff.
D. W.
What an atmosphere, what a selection of whiskies, what an evening. Staff were excellent. I gave a general guide for the rare type of whisky I was looking for; they were up and down steps and ladders till they gave me a selection of five of the type I'd been looking for and all done with enthusiastic smiles and banter. Soon, very soon.
P. S.
Great collection of Whiskeys. The Pot Still is legendary. No visit to Glasgow would be complete without going to The Pot Still.
A. H.
Best whisky bar on the planet, second to none dram selection. Fair prices and unique experiences. A bucket list destination for any whisky lover.
K. W.
Excellent glasgow pub with the largest whisky collection I've ever seen brilliant atmosphere and character and the staff were spot on too magic it will be my first port of call when I visit glasgow from now on cheers ten out of ten
W. E.
Very reasonable prices for the pies (around £4). I would particularly recommend the Pot Still pie, which had a brownie-type filling along with the meat).
R. S.
Great city centre whisky bar. Knowledgeable staff and tasty pies.
R. P.
Amazing selection of whiskys, my Canadian guests loved it.
M. F.
Wonderful, endless, selection of single malts. Nice ales too.
K. P.
Enjoyed a great Saturday afternoon with a few friends in the pot still. Fantastic selection of whiskies, relaxed atmosphere
H. R.
A great place full of friendly locals. Our favorite whiskey for £5 for two!
C. M.
Proper pub with a massive Whiskey selection. While they do serve warm food it's a far cry from being a gastropub. Very friendly staff.
A. B.
Amazing range of whiskies, a must during a visit to Glasgow
W. S.
The staff were great. Although my friends and I came at peak hours, the staff took their time in answering our questions about whisky.
L.
Huge selection of whiskies and ales.
However, the menu on the web is not updated and several whiskies were sold out while still on the web.
S. K.
One of the highlights of my trip to Scotland was visiting this place. Cozy atmosphere, helpful staff, and of course tons of whiskies at a good price.
D. C.
Traditional pub with an amazing selection of whisky. The bar staff really know their stuff and will happily help you to choose a dram, bringing out a few bottles they recommend.
H. B.
Favourite whisky bar in Glasgow with very knowledgeable staff 👍🏼
G. B.
Well they do nice collection of whiskeys as specified. Plus you can make a pre booking for whiskey tasters. Small area but you can easily find other whiskey lovers there.
p. r.
Huge selection of whiskies with very friendly & knowledgable bar staff
J. H.
Place was fun and inviting staff. Offered many options of whiskey and could describe most in detail.
T.
Incredible amount of whiskies, prices are reasonable and the staff knowledge is amazing. Very cosy though, so getting a table is a little tough.
k. b.
Great selection of whisky with a good atmosphere and friendly attentive staff. A wee gem of a pub in the city centre.
M. R.
Best Pub in Glasgow!
E. M.
Busy and noisy pub with real ale and more whisky than anyone could want.
D. H.
.......more than Whisky......if you're in Glasgow never missed it 🥰✌️
M. E.
This place is a legit Whisky Library guys!
A "must visit" pub when you in Glasgow!
Had a great time and tasted and tasted and tasted some more...
Will definitely come back again!
B. R.
Best selection of whiskies in the world! Great service!
j. m.
One of my favourite pubs ever. They really can't do enough for you. Really it's for whiskey drinkers but you can get a decent pint and a pie. But the real draw is the lovely pub and the staff.
A. W.
If you love whisky it don’t get much better than this. Very knowledgeable & friendly staff and an incredible choice. Tried 2 of the 4 real ales on offer - plus a few malts of course. A totally unique place & a highly enjoyable visit…more of an experience really!
V. O.
Absolutely brilliant tutored tasting with Frank on Sunday. I've got zero whiskey knowledge though my OH has a fair bit, and he gave us a great selection of six to try and talked us through the differences, how they're made, and a history of whisky in Scotland. We later went to Clydeside Distillery for a tour and found Frank's to have been much more informative! (We also didn't get to try their whisky after all, boo)
B. E.
Top notch pub in the centre of Glasgow providing a fine selection of drinks
J. F.
Great place for a beer, cider, or ANY type of whiskey; they purportedly have 700 different brands. Helpful staff, but limited seating for 50 max.
M. H.
The staff were very knowledgeable. It takes a while to get served, but that's because the staff spend time with each customer to make sure you get exactly what you want. Even if you're not really sure what you want, the staff will...
S. M.
Great pint amazing range of whiskies. Really great place to visit. Pub food wither a meal or just a wee snack. The choice is yours! The range of whisky brings people from all culture in for a visit and to wet their whistles:)
i. g.
Somehow similar to visiting a library, oh if every book was so exciting as those spirits and ales
J. S.
Great selection of whisky, excellent & knowledgeable staff, lovely atmosphere. Can't wait to visit again.
J. G.
Beer ✅ whisky ✅ pies ✅
Possibly the greatest pub on this planet.
E. A.
Amazing selection of whiskies and beers, great people attending and lovely drinkers..
G. C.
Awesome atmosphere. Really knowledgeable staff. Great pub.
P. W.
It shouldn't be allowed....what chance does an honest whisky lover have I ask you?
F. S.
This place is a must visit. It's on the top of my list whenever I come to Glasgow.
J. H.
Great bar. Wonderful atmosphere. Frank the man gave us a whisky tasting/smelling tutorial on the fly when my partner was stuck for what to order, a really nice touch considering he was serving so many people. Super friendly and this feeling prevails even in a time of no music being played in any bar in Scotland. Would 100% recommend. And we were here because a mate lived here for years and said we had to go...
A. N.
One of the best pubs in Glasgow. Brilliant service, reasonable prices and shelves full of great whiskies.
d. m.
Easily my favourite pub in Glasgow. Wonderful range of Malt Whisky, cheery staff, great traditional Scottish Fayre, friendly locals and an intimate ambience. A proper Scottish Pub.
V. G.
Great choice of whiskey, staff explains full details about hundreds of whiskey sorts
V. R.
Excellent selection of whisky. Probably widest I've seen in Glasgow.
O. C.
Incredible array of whisky. I'm not hugely experienced in whisky, but after telling my waiter my rough tastes I was bought a whisky from a distillery I've never heard of that blew my socks off. These guys really know their stuff! Partner had gin and while we were hoping for a few more options there is still a good variety
D. K.
Great pub....
Incredible selection of whiskies...
D. C.
Amazing selection of whiskey and the staff will listen and talk through options to match your preferred taste.
S. B.
The paradise of whisky! And not only. It is amazing the number of bootles. I loved it. If you come to Glasgow, you have to test it. 👍
G. H.
Bar staff had phenomenal knowledge and great customer service. Fun evening!
J. J.
Fabulous spot for a quick drink or more. Tremendous selection of spirits on offer.
d. c.
This place is amazing! I highly recommend it as a stop well made! Exceptional staff and experience.
L. F.
Great selections of whisky. Nice mix of locals and tourists.
And pleasant knowledgeable staff
M. L.
Whisky heaven. I asked for a few Bruichladdichs and was promptly shown bottles worth £30-£50 per 30 ml serving! These guys aren't fooling around. And there are plenty of reasonably priced options (£5-£7 per serving).
R. W.
What a great find me and my pal from Cumbria where amazed with the real ales and volume of whisky's they ha food looked pretty good as well
P. L.
Whiskey galore and pints of Guinness to ease the burn - a quest for life's liquid vitality.
T. E.
Fantastic place in the city centre to sample 750 whiskies. Okay, so I didn't sample all of them! But there are a hell of a lot of whiskies for all tastes. Deeply impressed by the location, the whiskies on offer and the staff. Especially the staff. If you are in Glasgow City centre and you want a taste of what Scotland has to offer, go there. You won't be disappointed if you like a good single malt. Loved it.
R. M.
They really know their stuff here. Have a huge selection in the shelves and are willing to extend themselves to give you recommendations and tell you where to buy whiskey, even telling you what part of Scotland and which distilleries to go to. They have a good amount of seating space, but there are so many people who come here that it's pretty packed most the time. Definitely highly recommend it, all these reviews can't be wrong!
L.
Incredible! If you love whiskey then there's literally nowhere better than The Pot Still to explore a wide variety of whiskeys!
S. P.
Visiting Brazilian friends wished a Whisky Tasting. They were delighted by the experience. Notes furnished descriptions and there were 6 whiskies to taste. First rate.
I. M.
Fantastic experience! They have over 700 varieties of whiskey and the bartenders can tell you about each and every one of them. For someone who is not a scotch drinker but was willing to try, they managed to get me a scotch based on tastes that I'm familiar with. I thoroughly enjoyed it. The place has a great atmosphere too. Highly recommend it!
J. S.
What an excellent place to educate your taste buds and improve your understanding of all the different Scotch whiskies out there. Trying one of the tasting sets will help educate you about the wonders of Scotch whisky.
G. C.
Fantastic cosy pub, well recommended
Bar staff very friendly and helpful especially when it comes to whisky and anything else really.
m. w.
Staff were so friendly and hospitable and their recommendations of beer and Whiskey were right on👍👍✅✅
N. D.
Superb selection of the best whiskies. Knowledgeable staff and a fantastic, traditional Scots pub. Good choice of craft beers as well.
K.
Best whiskey bar in Glasgow. The staff is the friendliest you will find anywhere! And they are family owned!
L. C.
Delicious comforting pie with smooth local whisky. Definitely worth a stop!
R. L.
Great little pub, small but rocking place, friendly staff with a good knowledge of whisky, and they have 750 different ones 😀
A bit busy between 5 and 7 pm, but otherwise fine. Highly recommend.
D. T.
Perhaps the best place in Glasgow to meet random, interesting people. Oh - and discover a peerless range of malts!
K. &. B.
If you are particular to a malt dram or two don't miss out the opportunity to drop amazing atmosphere and selection of whisky 🥃
G. C.
Best pub with 750 whiskeys to try...get whisky of the month for budget experience
M. W.
This place is a Glasgow institution. It would be a great city centre pub even if it did not have the single best whisky collection I have seen anywhere. They also have a great selection of real ales. It can get very busy so best enjoyed outside peak times.
T. T.
Not sure if there are any places with a bigger selection of whiskeys…
B. Z.
Great scotch whiskey bar and everyone is willing to help out. Let the experts guide you to an amazing experience. Couldn't recommend more! And don't forget the pie 🥧
B. R.
This looked a very welcoming pub from the outside so I popped in to grab a pint and something to eat. They only served pies, great for a snack but not proper pub meals. Its quite small inside and the overall feel of the place was great, I particularly liked the use of the barrels in the gents. Staff were friendly and the service was faultless. This is most definitely a whisky pub with countless hundreds of bottles of whisky behind the bar, probably a must go to place if you like a whisky and don't mind paying for it. If like me your not, then your better off buying a pint somewhere cheaper than here.
F. C.
This is quite simply one of the best pubs in the country. Dazzling collection of whisky and nice local beers. The staff are so friendly and full of knowledge. Very professional and respectful of covid regulations with the added bonus of now having table service making best of a bad situation. Long live the Pot Still *raises whisky glass*
I. H.
Ever popular which doesn't happen by accident, warm welcome, very large selection of whisky plus a few local ales and at least one gin and one vodka too 😀
S. W.
Aye love this pub, cracking place to go when my wife and I go to Glasgow
A. T.
Totally loved it! Huge variety of whiskies at very reasonable prices!!! Must visit place when in Glasgow!
J. A.
Friendly service, nice atmosphere and (as expected) some incredible whiskies.
The only disappointment was they proudly advertise pies 'all day' but at 8pm on a Friday evening they only had one pie left (pre-cooked in a heated display) and none could be ordered like a usual pub kitchen. We were disappointed as that was another reason we came and assumed the kitchen would cook more to meet demand/make some money/match their advertising. Still had a good experience though.
C. M.
Lovely place with a decent range of beers and an amazing range of whiskies. Great value and the staff are fantastic too.
K. H.
Incredible selection of whiskeys, quick and friendly service, warm atmosphere
R. B.
Great place. Great selection of whisky possibly my favourite whisky bar in the country. I worked in a whisky shop for four years so I feel like I know what I'm talking about here, don't believe the poor reviews. The owner is a lovely guy. Seriously if you're complaining about poor voddy and coke or the fact it doesn't have a massive beer selection you need to have a wee sit down and think about your life. This is a whisky bar and a bloody good one
C. G.
A friendly traditional pub with great selection of real ales. Effortlessly good.
N. R.
Fantastic pub with an amazing selection of whiskies. A must visit of your looking for a traditional Scottish pub in Glasgow.
S. D.
Great pub! Excellent atmosphere nice mix of locals and tourists with an amazing selection of whiskey,if your visiting Glasgow this place is a must!
w. d. h.
Gorgeous rustic pub in a city that is still growing with new establishments. The choice is extensive but look through the menu and take your pick.
G. T.
Amazing selection of whisky and knowledgeable staff to help you decide. Popular with locals, work crowd and tourists. Draft and bottle selection is also good. It's not a massive place so seats are hard to come by at busy times. Great atmosphere when it's busy though.
G. R.
Great choice of whisky although need to update there online menu for them.
G.
Superb selection of whiskies and very knowledgeable and friendly staff. If you've the time I'd suggest spending a few hours here which is very easily done. Tell them what your taste is and in a matter of moments you'll have several bottles plonked in front of you. Feel free to pop the cork and have a good nose they're not precious about that sort of thing. Only down side is I can't get here often enough!
P. V.
This place offers an amazing choice of whiskey. The staff is very friendly, the mood is always warm and welcoming.
Don't hesitate to ask a staff to discover a whiskey strong or light, smoked or not etc. They'll always have excellent advices and will make you discover new tastes! If you're bold enough, go for the malt of the month! An authentic pub in the heart of Glasgow!
M.
Excellent Glasgow pub. Whisky specialist and real ale bar. Staff are great. Well worth a visit.
a. r.
A great pub, and a very warm welcome. Very helpful owner, who helped with choosing a whisky 🥃 loved it.
S. W.
Was out with a couple of friends and we were caught out by the stormy weather. Traipsing around the city centre, looking for shelter, continually told that there was no room at the Inn (due to Covid restrictions, for context). Walking up Hope Street, we passed by 'The Pot Still' and had a nosey in, to see if there was any room for us. The guy at the door showed us to some very welcome seats.
Very cosy, comfortable wee pub, with a decent selection of beers and a stellar selection of whisky's. What is obvious is that the really friendly staff are really knowledgeable about the drinks on sale and will happily discuss (or hunour/listen to ramblings) the stuff on the walls.
Would thoroughly recommend the pub to anyone, regardless if you aren't a fan of whisky.
P.
The staff is really friendly and super knowledgeable. We told the bartender the type of whiskey we like and our price range, and he selected 3 whiskeys for us to choose from. He gave us the background of each whiskey he selected and why he selected it, which was very informative. Great overall experience. The steak pie was great too!
A. &. R. A.
Phenomenal! Excellent selection of Scotch. Knowledgeable staff.
b.
Great time this evening at the Pot Still. Learned a lot about regional Scotches while having several! Friendly, great atmosphere! Thanks
J. K.
Great wee warm and welcoming pub.
But it needs a friendly doorman because although there was plenty of standing room, foreign travellers took one look and moved on as there were no obvious seats. A lot of important custom being lost there.
As a Glaswegian in the know, it's fine for me.
Great selection.of quality malts on offer by knowledgeable inn keepers.
F.
Yes, well worth a visit. Steeped in history with a plethora of whiskies.
F. C.
THE place in Glasgow to drink whisky. A small bar but with an incredible selection of whisky. The bartenders are really kind and thoughtful. They are super willing to help you decide which drink is for you. Good beers as well. A must for whisky lovers and also for people looking to try some good SC whisky.
R. K.
The best whisky selection bar none, visit this place immediately.
D. S.
Superb friendly and knowledgeable staff. Good buzz about the place, though very busy. I went with two charming young women who recommended it, and am an instant convert! Fantastic selection of whiskies at reasonable prices. Not to be missed.
T. F.
Excellent place for whisky lovers
E. F.
If you want to experience some good whiskey and don't have time to visit all the distilleries thus is the place for you. The staff are extremely well educated on their product, not just the Scottish stuff, and are only too happy to share their knowledge. When you go the place will be full and noisy. Great atmosphere!
M. C.
Went in for a wee dram and ended up having a few more. They have a huge selection of whiskeys to try. The place was full, but we managed to squeeze ourselves on a corner bench. Service is great, they can help with recommendations whether you know whiskey or not.
B. C.
If you find yourself here in the evening on a weekend it's packed and loud and you will struggle to find a place to sit. Go in the week in the day time and you will find reasonably priced good food, nice atmosphere and the most incredible selection of Whisky anywhere. Some of this will doubtlessly warp the wallet of some patrons but you will find something.
C. B.
Hadn't been in a while, and i was pleased to see it had kept the same style as years gone by, great spot to go for a few alcoholic beverages
L. S.
Often overlooked gem. It's a cozy little place with a nice selection of drinks. However, if you're a whisky person, you'll need many return visits before you make it through their whole range. Something for almost any palate. I also seem to remember this place being featured on a show with James May and Oz Clarke.
K. A.
Fantastic choice of whisky. Hundreds to choose from. Pub grub consists of pies....very tasty. Clean toilets. So ticks all boxes with me.
S. C.
Don't miss it on a visit to Glasgow. Great atmospheric pub. Even stocks the best Whiskey .. .... Jameson 👍
T. B.
Absolutely amazing! Extraordinary service with an individual presentation of every dram!
N. T.
Fantastic whisky bar - 35cl measures ! Malt of the month is only 2.50. Lots of character inside and helpful staff. The hot pies looked good too ! Well worth a visit - busy at weekends so go mid week for a seat.
H. S.
Must visit for whiskey lovers. Friendly staff, helps you in picking your drink based on your preferences.
A. S.
The reviews do not lie. This place was truly an experience. We went in to the super crowded bar and were greeted at the bar within minutes. The lovely bartender asked what we liked and gave us each 3 recommendations which she let us smell. Very nice atmosphere. This is a must stop in Glasgow.
S. A.
Still the best whisky bar in Glasgow with great staff who have an excellent knowledge. They can always find you a golden nugget you've never tried before. Prices are really fair and atmosphere is brilliant.
M. S.
The best whisky bar in Scotland. Cracking staff and great atmosphere. Love it.
E.
The bartender went in depth about the whisky choices. I asked for four whisky at about 20 £ from Speyside or non peaty. She went above and beyond and made it seem like no big deal that she spent time choosing and explaining the differences to me. The reviews were correct; this place knows their whisky, has lots to offer, and treats you like a friend vs a complete newbie at whisky. We read after the fact that they have a good selection of pies to try. Go and make your own flight of whisky with the help of knowledgable staff and try the pies!
W. A.
Stopped in in a Tuesday evening and while busy, was served in short order. Extremely knowledgeable staff and brilliant recommendations for new whiskeys to try. Highly recommend if you want to expand your knowledge on whisky and try to also expand your taste!
C. E.
Can't remember much but I think it was the place responsible for everything that followed
p. d.
Great service quickly served although very busy
C. C.
Busy as always. Really good pub with great staff. Good choice of beers and if you like a whisky you are spoilt for choice.
B. J. p.
Fantastic pub, the water take time to find a great whisky for me. Fully recommend.
A. H.
Fantastic evening as ever. Superb selection of whiskies and extremely helpful and knowledgeable staff. One really nice touch this time was marking our glasses according to the whiskeys we had ordered.
A. B.
The choice in terms of whisky is amazing in here. I plan to show this place to everyone I know visiting Scotland and loving whisky as much as I do! It surely is a nice spot to eat and drink though it is sometimes crowded. I'd definitely advise you to give it a try tho, it totally worths it.
M. S.
Popped in for an afternoon drink on Tuesday. My husband had the malt of the week which was excellent and well priced. I'm not a whisky drinker so the young lady behind the bar, very helpfully recommended a delicious gin from Skye. While sitting at the bar, I noticed several people come and ask her advice on whiskies and beers. She appeared very knowledgeable and helpful. This is a great wee pub and I'll definitely be back when I'm in town.
T. M.
I personally like malts , their is a fantastic choice here for all budgets. Also like my craft beers , their was a choice of 4 craft beers which I had time to enjoy with friends before heading of to the football.
K. N.
Fantastic whiskey bar! Barkeep was well versed and knowledgeable; willing to find the perfect spirit for your taste! The Pot Still boasts 700+ whiskeys to choose from, so you can keep visiting for a while! Strongly recommended for anyone visiting Glasgow.
J. S.
Majestic. No other word for the Pot Still. The team are passionate about their whisky, of which you have hundreds upon hundreds to choose from. If you are not sure, or would want a recommendation, staff are more than happy to spend some time with you going through what you might fancy.
The bar itself is cosy, enough seating but can be busy through the day. Hearty pub food on offer, however not tried.
K. K.
You'd love it if you are a whiskey connoisseur. With greatest selection of scotch and amazingly expert bartenders this place is heaven. It is reasonably priced too. 80% of the crowd that you'd find here are Glasgow Scots so you know this is the place frequented by locals. I even found locals of age 60+ and 70+ ladies and gentlemen having a good time. Get to know what the Scots do (and drink) by just spending a couple of hours here. Finding a seating place could be difficult if you are alone, and impossible if you are a group of four so be prepared.

Probably the best gantry of whiskey I have ever seen.. wow

Amazing whisky!

Friends have told me to give it a try "You will really like it". So we visited. Busy. Difficult to find a seat (but found one). Full of character. Full of characters. The beer's great. Fantastic range of whiskies (had every one I could think of). All at pretty good prices. Enjoyed our visit! Returned to it the next night.
D. J.
Without doubt, the best pub I've found in Glasgow. By a country mile. All depends what you want of course. I love well kept beer, the staggering array of Whiskey and the way the staff and locals are with new faces. It's dripping with character and they can certainly help with new Scotch experiments. Thank you all.

Three sassenachs found this bar by chance during a short trip north of the border. A great atmosphere, good beer and amazing selection of whiskies. We were made welcome by all and had a great night. Cheers!!
J. P.
Brilliant little pub with very friendly staff who are happy to chat with you and talk you through some of the collection. Must be thousands of bottles of whisky, from single malt Scottish whiskies, to Japanese, American and malts, grains and blends.
Good whisky of the month at £2.50 was actually a Tamdhu 10yo, one of my favourites!
They also have a good range of beers and gins, and the food looked good too.
The most expensive is over £76 per 35ml measure (we asked) and cheapest under £2. There's something for everyone here, whether you're a beginner trying your first dram, to an enthusiast wanting to try something rarer.
D. R.
My first visit to Glasgow couldn't have gotten off to a better start. Dominic and Chris are an absolute credit to the pub, and to the city. Between them they picked me out a great whisky (the very exclusive Blair Athol 10yo) and recommended some great sites and bars to check out during my stay. The pub itself is a wonderful mix of hip 'n' homely and has such a welcoming vibe. The pies looked (and smelled) delicious too but I was too full of pizza crunch to partake this time. I'll be back.
D. A.
Brilliant selection of whiskies ( best of any pub in Scotland) and a great atmosphere
S. M.
If your looking for a whisky they probably have it.
M. P.
Great pub for whisky lovers. Here you can find whisky nearly from any destillery in Scotland, including "unknown" ones. Any type you like, with any age, from any region and with a wide range of prices and quality. Very relaxed atmosphere in a not big place, which makes to place cosier than average pubs. Only draw back is that almost always full packed with people leaving very little room for even moving.
C. L.
Cozy place with a huge selection of whisky to choose from, but more importantly, the staff is excellent. They would patiently ask for my preferences (smooth or spicy, rich/light etc) and bring over several bottles for me to consider while explaining each one's characteristics.
R. L.
GREAT selection of whiskies. If you like whiskey or kicking back and relaxing while enjoying a pint with a side of atmosphere, this is a place to visit. Also, the people working behind the counter know their stuff if you're curious to test uncharted waters. You'd be sorry to miss it.
N. L.
A nice traditional bar with lots of dark wood. A great selection of whiskies. Staff who are happy to help you select if you want. A few decent draft beers (usually!). Great atmosphere. And pies. Almost perfect.
A.
Amazing selection of nectar! Great service.
M. T.
I told the bar tender I like chocolate and he recommends this delicious whiskey. 🥃
C. B.
Beautiful bar with a fantastic selection of drams.
I. K.
Good pub, lovely people, very nice whisky 🥃
T. Q.
Friendly local. The beers are good and well priced. But it's the whisky selection which makes this place special. If you want to try a whisky before buying, come here. The choice is mind-blowing. Recommended.
P. D.
More than impressive collection of whiskies. Had my first taste of a lot of whiskies I never knew existed here. If you enjoy a dram, you'd do yourself a disservice if you don't at least pop in for one. Where else will you hide from the rain?
N. M.
A big variety of whiskies. The service was great. But the music is too loud.
K. M. F. m.
Traditional Glasgow pub, no TV which is great, and the staff are very knowledgeable about the 300 whiskeys that they have
D. K.
Traditional Scottish boozer with the emphasis very much on whisky. Not really my kind of place, but I can understand why some would rate it number 1 in Glasgow.
s. d.
Knowledgeable staff. Great selection and great atmosphere. You could probably come here every night and never have the same whiskey twice. The staff make recommendations too so if you know what type of drink you like they can find your new favourite dram.
J. P. G.
An absolute classic! I can't think of any place with more different whiskies than The Pot Still. The shelves look like taken out of a library, only with whisky... Incredible.
The bartenders are really helpful and know, whether you have tried many types of whisky or it's your first time, they know exactly what you're looking for. Don't miss it!
P. S.
This is the best pub for people that love whiskey! There is a huge variety of excellent whiskeys at reasonable prices. They also offer a malt of the month, again at a great price. The atmosphere is amazing!
A. C.
Had my first meat pie ever here and it was scrumptious! Gets crowded so go early!
K. T.
Nice for tasting whiskey, but need improvements.
It has a really big collection, mostly of whiskeys but also you can dronk other spirits. Service was ok, prices were normal. A good place if you want to taste rare or ordinary spirits. Music was almost muted and lights were too bright. This is the reason for the "missing" star..
J. E.
Over 800 whiskeys on offer, great original Scottish pub
d. l.
Outstanding selection of whisky, the owner was very passionate, knowledgeable and friendly. Always have a well priced malt of the month on and decent draught on tap. The only downside is that it can get very busy sometimes.
C. M.
A great place with a few good real ales, many (very many) good whiskies, and bartenders who know both well.
R. M.
This is an amazing pub, with a great selection of local beers on draft and a not to be believed selection of whiskeys. It is not a restaurant, however. The kitchen closes at 5pm and afterwards you can get a pie at the bar but nothing else. Still easily earns 5 stars.
H. E.
In an attempt to introduce a friend (new to Scotland) to real whisky, we chose to visit The Pot Still on a colleagues reccomendation.
There is a vast selection of whiskies available and the bar staff were very friendly and incredibly knowledgeable, suggesting several drams based on our individual tastes, which was much appreciated as it gave us all a chance to try something new.
The atmosphere inside was plesant and although the interior decor isn't entirely to my taste we all thoroughly enjoyed the place.
An absolute must for whisky lovers!
G. C.
Great pub. Amazing range of whisky (and a few whiskeys too!) Great beer on tap and keg all in a proper old school pub atmosphere with friendly staff and pies too. Doesn't get much better.
R. T.
Whiskey collection is off the scale, draught beer selection is quite limited. Good place to visit during weekdays, at weekends outwith the covid madness - it's rammed.
E. M.
Oh my goodness, we love this place! I went for the first time in April 2017 when I visited Scotland also for the first time. It was so great, that this one bar helped me make the decision to GO BACK TO SCOTLAND THREE MONTHS LATER. This bar is an example of why bars in the USA are garbage. 😆 Everything about this place is perfect. Sooooooooooooo many whisky options, the atmosphere is excellent, the prices are wonderful, and the servers are so hospitable it just blows me away.
The second time I went the server recognized me and even remembered what whisky I like! Seriously, we love this place and we gotta get back to Scotland soon so we can go to The Pot Still!!!
R. F. P.
So the truth is...I am not really a Scotch Whisky person. But I've never let that stop me. I go in and ask for a nice bourbon that they won't mind adding a splash of coke and then I am presented with a vast array of options. This pub is one of Glasgow's gems for locals and for the visiting tourist. Word of warning, it's a busy place...However, the service is crackin' and fast.
l. b.
How very remiss of me not to have written a review of the very marvellous whisky emporium The Pot Still. Better late than never. There's a very good reason why scotch-lovers from all over the world beat a path to the door of this city centre bar. It's in all the guide books and has just won Whisky Bar of the Year. They don't mess around with fancy food here. Yes you can get a pie from the pie warmer on the bar or some other simple snack, but the main event is whisky and my goodness they have a lot of the stuff.
J. K.
LEGEND! This place has a wonderful vibe and a the best selection of whiskey anywhere in Scotland! I tried to find another place with better variety and failed - this is the one. Protip: Go for one of the less-shiny bottles on the side-wall instead of the more designer-bottles behind the bar. You won't be disappointed.
J. C.
A perfect boozer with a good selection of beers and extensive whisky selection. My only reservation is that their food is disappointingly limited and pretty below par, but everything else including the warm atmosphere and surroundings makes up for it. A must visit if you're passing through Glasgow.
C. P.
Beer selection a bit limited but still enough to keep it interesting, including some Scottish fruit lager I'd never seen before. Whisky selection is incredible though and I heard the staff helping customers make a selection. Nice wee place.
P. F.
Lovely place for whisky and ale! I'm not sure if there is a Scotch whisky they DON'T have. As for ales, they have Hobgoblin and others on tap. Friendly staff. Glasses not always clean, but even if you drink half the pint until you realise it they will replace it with a new full one.
B. R.
Went in for one, stayed for four. Frank was spot on with his recommendations. Went to Jamie on distillery in Dublin and bought 4 old fashions. Went to The Pot Still and had 8 amazing whiskies for less. And learned more about whisky too. Must visit place in Glasgow for whisky drinkers. Or anyone who wants to see a true Glasgow pub. (Also sells good beer 😆)
L. B.
Fantastic, knowledgeable staff - I told him what type of Scotch I liked and he pulled down 5 bottles, narrowed down what I wanted then offered me a cheaper and a more expensive, rarer option. Of course I went the rarer, the cheeky bugger probably knew I would too. I also got some great advice about which distilleries near by have the best tours. My partner who doesn't love scotch was able to get a nice IPA. If you're there at the busy times you won't get a seat, so stand and enjoy your scotch.
S. C.
One of my favourite haunts
Great staff, all very friendly and knowledgeable. Good food, pies and toasties.
Amazing range of whisky, to fit every pocket, and an ever rotating selection of beers.
What's not to love?
M. T.
Fantastic Whisky bar that should be on everyone's visit list.
D. T.
I love it when bar staff know everything about the whisky they serve. I go here to learn and to drink oh and eat too sometimes, those pies ain't half bad
M. A.
I have visited this place twice so far and it was awesome both times. The staff is superb friendly and will guide you through your whiskey tasting journey. We went for 10Y+ and radius of 35 km. It was fab! If you are a group of folks do a reservations in advance, if you are 2 or 3 guys the max you should be good. Many thanks & anytime again. Slainte Mhath.

For people who would like to experience authentic Glasgow pub atmosphere, this is the place to be! (Photo blurred on purpose :))

Excellent authentic bar in the heart of Glasgow. Always an eclectic crowd. Very friendly and knowledgeable staff
s. A.
Fantastic pub, friendly staff and great service. Considering the pub was packed, they knew who was to be served next and the service never faltered. Great selection of whiskey. Can't recommend enough.
J.
This is a place to visit if you enjoy Whisky. Great atmosphere and over 1000 varieties of Whisky they tell us. I have enjoyed three fine Saturday evenings here while visiting Glasgow.
P. C.
Amazing selection of whiskey. Great atmosphere. I took some American visitors over and they loved it. Exactly what they wanted to experience. Staff are always ready to advise you to.
r. r.
Small but welcoming bar in Glasgow central. Friendly staff and a good pint of Guinness. Specialties are the whisky's of Scotland. Can get busy due to the location and bar size.
S. W.
Awesome whisky bar. Amazing blend of Glasgow locals and tourists seeking out the best of Scotch. Their knowledge of whisky is excellent, helping the amateur expert to the daunted beginner.
R. G. (.
Fantastic pub with amazing whisky and really nice staff - could cheerfully live here
W. R.
Very groovy joint. Old school pub. Great beers and huge range of whiskeys. Knowledgeable staff. Malt of the month is always a good bet for a chaser at £2.50 a dram, if you're that way inclined.
S. R.
Everything you'd expect from the city's number 1pub. If you don't find something you can enjoy here just give up. You can feel the tourist attraction feeling when you hear the patrons speak. Also don't ask me how but you can feel the authenticity of a true Scottish pub and not just a trap.
I'll be back and maybe try something next time.
N.
Great whiskey bar in Glasgow. Go to this place with a full stomach if you really wanna appreciate your time there. Unreal range if whiskeys, displayed on shelves and handled like you would find books in a library via a rolling ladder. Great experience even if I can't remember leaving.
N. H.
Whiskey lovers dream. Traditional pub with over 750 whiskies. Knowledgeable staff make this a great place to enjoy a few drinks.
M. H.
lClass pub, proper Scottish Glasgow pub with an amazing whiskey selection. Staff are brilliant I hope they are paid well. Old school feel, very reasonable prices and friendly local feel aswell as tourists
t. t.
Wonderful selection of whisky and frank is so knowledgeable about anything whisky related you ask him .hes like a walking encyclopedia. Very homely feeling place always good whisky specials on too. Just go in you'll love it.
R. M.
Nice old fashioned bar. Most reasonable priced drinks we had in Glasgow. £3.30 for a small wine, £4 for a large wine and £3.70 for a pint. They don't show sport which might be an issue for some people.
W. S.
As advertised, a traditional pub with a wide variety of malt whiskeys. Rather compact, so it might be difficult to find a table around the traditional busy hours, but definitely cosy with the ambiance you're probably looking for if you're looking for a pub that serves good malts. Very convenient location near the Buchanan Street area.
O. C.
Got me hooked on whiskey, great staff with good recommendations.
K. L.
One of my fav places in Glasgow! Great array of whiskies, got to try lots to find your favourites! 😉 Always very busy in evenings, but this creates a fun atmosphere!
D. T.
Amazing Whisky Bar! Bartenders are more than happy to provide recommendations and guided nosings. So glad I was able to make it here during my stay in Glasgow.
C. P.
Nice selection of whiskeys, knowledgeable staff behind the bar... old fashioned traditional pub... Will be back
B. B.
Great staff, ale and whiskey!
M. W.
Excellent beers and a great pub atmosphere. Excellent Whisky Bar.
A. A.
One of the best whiskey pubs in the country! Alongside that you have a lovely atmosphere, brill staff, and some great drinks on tap. Would recommend!
D. L.
One of my favourite bars in Glasgow. The Pot Still has an excellent atmosphere and although from outside aprears like an old mans pub, they have a diverse age range of patrons.
The service is good and whiskey is great.
Will always go here when in the town
J. L.
Great, authentic place. Huge variety of drinks and very knowledgeable and friendly staff! Current safety regulations are perfectly in place which might mean you need to wait for a bit, what's totally worth it!
C. M.
Nice pub if you want to try various beers and whisky at affordable prices. Even the toilets are classy.
F. S.
I have never seen as many whisky's in one pub and we met two very nice Scottish gentlemen.
R. D.
They're like a whisky museum. I don't know for sure but I'd definitely go so far as to predict that they have more than a 1000 whiskies under the roof. The guys behind the bar know their whisky and also try their best to cater to the customers' needs. Un-missable.
C.
Absolutely amazing selection of whiskey. Fantastic beer selection and fun knowledgeable staff. get the daily soup early, was a little bummed that they were out by the time I was ready. Oh well, you snooze you lose.
E. H.
If you have a rough idea of what you're looking for in a malt (or a blend), the friendly staff will make a few recommendations with a description to let you decide what you want. And in my experience they have always been spot on.
If it's busy you'll still get first class service. If it's quiet then even better.
They also treat their cask ale well (good temperature, poured properly).
I've not eaten here regularly, but when I have the pies have been excellent.
J. v. s.
Great place to try scotch whisky. The bar is crowded so you will have to patient, but it is well worth it. Bartenders will make recommendations if you don't know what you prefer.
Thanks for helping us find cadenhead tamnavulin.
A.
Friendly service and great food!
D. H.
Best whisky bar anywhere, hands down. Over 700 bottles available! The bar staff are all extremely knowledgeable and will help you find a dram to your liking.
K. T.
Unbelievable number of whiskies on offer. Do try one of their specialist pies, you won't be disappointed. Proper pub. Don't miss it.
E. L.
Great whiskey and scotch variety in a cozy relaxed bar. A great spot to try some local scotches in a low key, well-kept bar atmosphere. We found a few new favorites while we were here.
T. “. O.
Wonderful knowledgeable staff, the place to go to sample some rare brands of whiskey.
They stock in excess of 350 brands, we never tried them all, hic, hic.
N. Z.
Really cozy bar with a great vibe, in a beautiful old building. Even though we weren't able to order food, (the kitchen is only open for lunch) they had savoury pies for sale. Didn't try them, but we had some beer and hung out for a while and thoroughly enjoyed the place.
J.
Awesome pub, friendly staff and punters, amazing whiskey collection
A. I.
Love this place. Great range of beer and whisky. Staff and regulars are all super friendly. Can't beat the malt of the month for £2.50. Best craic in Glasgow
R. B.
Awesome selection of whisky. Keen, knowledgeable bar staff. Great ales. Everyone chatty and friendly. A "go to" destination for me when in Glasgow!
n.
Superb whisky bar. Randomly stopped by during my stay in Glasgow.Staff are nice and professional.
I would not hesitate to recommend to all the tourists:)
