W. M.First time at this restaurant, food very good and portion sizes excellent. Staff very attentive. Only downside, was that I did not know it was very dog friendly. I like dogs and have no issue with them being in a beer garden etc, but not in the restaurant itself. It is a personal thing and that is the only issue I have and reason for 4 stars and not 5.
Thank you very much for the update re- booking area within restaurant which I could have booked which is less dog friendly. Will be back, will score you 10/10 .

P. D.Rachel and Amy took great care of us. We brought our 2 young children on the way home from seeing Santa and they made sure we were seated quickly, warm and happy. Perfect service from them both.
D. C.Chose The Tickled Trout because it has a dog friendly area for dining. We were not disappointed, food was good, service was efficient and staff very welcoming. Nice atmosphere although a little quiet when we visited. Prices were fair and we will be back.
M. J.It's a chain (Vintage Inns). It's got a good menu of interesting meals and a nice selection of drinks including some local real ales (not just Doom Bar!). A few things missing off the new menu which was odd but what we had was well made and tasty.
B. G.We went to the tickled trout for brunch, it's something they've recently started doing. Staff were very welcoming and friendly. We had a dog with us which was fine and staff were good with the dog. They have bowls that you can put water in and biscuits for dogs. We got the fully cooked English breakfast, eggs royale both with orange juice and tea. The fully cooked English breakfast was much bigger than i thought it was going to be! It was so good and filling that I had to walk home. The eggs royale look really nice. Orange Juice was really good too. Would definitely go back. Service was excellent and breakfast is worth the money.

S. H.our visit was great, this is the 2nd time this month we have been to Tickled Trout and we cannot rate the staff, food and atmosphere highly enough.
We dealt with Laura but also at least 4 other staff members during our visits and each time everyone is friendly and welcoming.
on our first visit Laura even ran over the app and its benefits, this resulted in us downloading the app which in turn resulted in us visiting again sandwiched in between a visit to The Commodore in Helensburgh.

The starter was skimpy, but it gave us a good laugh, also, please give the hallway leading up to the toilet a much needed lick of paint, the walls and doors were absolutely filthy, so grubby in fact that I opened the door with my foot!

Food excellent, portion size very good, (beef rib was excellent), dog menu is a great touch, choice is very good, prices as expected.
The less good:
Lack of flowing fresh air, was quite stuffy, could do with some open windows, ordering server had, honestly, a rather irritating way of speaking where she "sang" everything she said, might seem petty but everyone at our table found it to be irritating, as did some others at nearby tables we could hear commenting on it.
I can't imagine she speaks like that in general conversation so not sure why it's necessary here.
Anyway, great place to eat, will definitely go again.

Nice surroundings inside and lots of seating outside too which will be lovely in the summer as the restaurant is situated in some nice countryside.

Food was amazing and very reasonably priced, definitely better than your standard pub fare. Had calamari to start and the super green salad for a main, was really tasty and would definitely have it again. The rest of my family had steak and fishcakes and again were 10/10.
We all had desserts and we all agreed they were the best puddings we've had in a long time! The "flower pot" was really unique and the cheesecake was unreal. Service was great, our waitress was really kind and the manager was very friendly.

L. A.This place is a gem. Charming building, decor and staff. Outside seating with a lovely view on sunny days and warm traditional interior for the others. It's the food that sets it apart, all the pub grub classics, just better. Large crunchy, crumbly fish and chips, rich flavoursome burgers, think I need to go back and test... everything else on the menu. Yum!
C.My daughter and I went for dinner to the Tickled Trout a couple of weeks ago. Great parking,and easily accessed. The meals were lovely, with plenty of choice on the menu. The service was good,very attentive, everything was served promptly,and at the right temperature! The bathrooms were reasonably clean, and great care was taken to ensure Covid safety measures were adhered to. All in all an enjoyable experience.

S.What an amazing place to eat out, a stunning location just outside Glasgow's busy centre, came here after exploring Bearsden the starting location of the west highland way and was not disappointed. We were greeted so warmly and service was speedy and efficient. With a table of 6 this can sometimes be an issue for the kitchen but the trout handled it brilliantly and we all received our food at the same time after only a short wait! Will definitely be returning with my family and would recommend this restaurant to anyone, thank you!

B. W.Apart from the waitress spilling lemonade over my grand daughter's trousers, then later she dropped a knife when clearing the table and hit my trousers and two grease marks appeared it was okay. The food was good and was enjoyed by the five of us. Accidents do happen, twice with us took the shine off a bit.

G. M.This used to be a great place to eat. Calamari starter was ok but main meal left a lot to be desired. Steak was one of the wort I've had in quite some time. Kids liked their Pizza though the better halves main was "just ok". Cheese cakes went down well with the kids but my sticky toffee pudding had a massive salty surprise mid way through it. Wasn't in the best of minds about the place after the poor steak but this was the final nail for me. Can't say I'll rush back.

R. R.Part of a Mitchell & Butler chain, but don't let that put you off. A few miles outside Bearsden down a winding country road lies this beautifully restored and converted pub. With a well designed spacious interior, this is very much a dining rather than drinking pub that is comfortable and airy. Plenty of outside tables too. Excellent food, fast professional and friendly service.
M. B.Had lunch there I had fish and chips which was a reasonable portion and my wife and her sister had chicken pie which was large portions . Was asked if we were having a pudding and I said I'll have a sticky toffee pudding and Ice cream and was asked if it was to share of which I don't do . When my pudding came I would not have been able to share it as I can eat puddings and I could have had another two . Waiter asked me if I liked it I replied it could have been bigger so he offered me another free one of which I declined as time was running short so he said next time the puddings are on him which was nice for him to say

Nine of us, ranging from 9-month old to an almost 90-year old in a wheelchair, went for a post festive family meal and we got accommodated fairly easily.
The staff were a bit pushed but were welcoming and friendly.
The only reason I dropped a star is because we never got the mayo we asked for and the blackcurrant cheesecake turned up covered in raspberries.

M. F. B.We love this pub restaurant and have been going there for over 15 years. The food is great but when we were there last couple of times last week thought the service seems to have deteriorated somewhat. Hence the 3 star rating. E.g.. given a glass which had not been properly cleaned and had lipstick stains on it, no cutlery, inattentive waiter. We wouldn't have bothered but we had taken friends from down south there for the first time and they were not impressed. Hopefully our next visit will be better as we do love the location.

A. M.I had the scampi from the lunch menu and it was quite nice except for the chips which were tasteless and not worth eating. There was spiced carrot soup available but not, apparently, for those having the lunch menu, so I had to make do with one of the three dull starters. It was not made clear by the waitress which customers were actually allowed to have the soup. The place has a cosy atmosphere but the food is standard pub fare. Could easily be so much better.

Food for kids served quickly and was of an excellent standard - as was all the rest of the meal; delicious. Chefs clearly care what comes out of the kitchen - staff on the floor do you proud. L. H.I often go when visiting my Dad because the food is consistently good. I really enjoyed the veggie burger with seasonal vegetables and excellent chips yesterday. The worst thing about the desserts is having to choose among them. My favourites are the trifle and Eton mess.
January 2016: Great pub food, very good value. Waitresses very helpful. Desserts fabulous, a selection available in mini format!
Our sausages were on the overdone side & butternut squash dish had too little dahl but the waitress was open to our observations.

M. K.Went to the Tickled Trout for a meal on my husbands birthday with our 3 year old son and 3 months old baby daughter. We love the way the place is done up. It is very homy rustic and cosy, yet very modern and spacious. Staff are always very kind and relaxed. Food was yummy. Husband had a steak, my son and I had cod. Deserts were very delicious. All portions plenty big. We do not go out much these days because of the age of our children. When we do so, this is one of our usual places of choice for drinks or meals out. Always a welcome treat.
I. M.Lovely country restaurant with a great selection of food. They serve delicious fosh and chips, awesome steaks and some really good vegetarian dishes too. Really good for families with young children too. The staff couldn't be more helpful.
K. C.We had a lovely meal today to celebrate my brother’s birthday and the service was good. We ordered a sticky toffee pudding for desert and it came with a scoop of sorbet which was unusual as it’s normally served with vanilla ice cream 🤔. The little ones enjoyed their fruity ice lollies for desert, but they should have ordered the chocolate brownie with icecream instead so that I could have eaten their left overs 😋

n. t.The food is lovely, particularly the lamb koftas for starters, however it takes a very long time to get served and hospitality isn't exactly their forte, the starter was served within 10 minutes of ordering and we waited 37 minutes after finishing the starters for our mains whilst having the dirty plates with us right up until them being served, due to the long wait, my wife asked a member of bar staff if we could have our mains as we had finished our starters a long time ago... The answer from the member of staff was "if they were ready, they would have been served to you" i think that was quite rude of her to say that, a simple apology with an explanation of the hold up would have went a long way instead of the condescending remark, however, like I said, the food was lovley and cooked to perfection but I don't really think the staff are very attentive and never once asked how we were or how the food was, and I must admit, I've never ate out and had to sit with dirty plates right up until receiving the main meal, it didn't appear to be busy at that point either, the place has a lot going for it foodwise. , anyway I will leave it there.
