Wow what an excellent pub. So friendly. Great staff.

Went in for the Europa league final and arrived around 2:30pm which was 5 and a half hours before KO. It was busy already and a decent atmosphere was building. We stayed for about 2 hours but decided to leave as there clearly weren't enough staff on. We waited 45 minutes at the bar for a round and there didn't seem to be any order to how the 2 bar staff were serving. Some customers came to the bar and got served quickly but others were waiting ages. Probably just been unlucky and I'd try the place again to see if this was just a one off because of the occasion.

Amazing we pub under the circumstances, tried several places in Glasgow on Saturday and none came close to the service at the toby jug the staff are so friendly, fast and cannot do enough for you, we have came back Sunday today and my partner wanted a bloody mary, they had no tomato juice but Margaret went to 2 shops so we could have this outstanding service especially with everything going on what a pub and staff will deffo be back 😊

Nice place to have few drinks with friends. Cheap drinks and snacks.Cool ambience. Also has screens to watch your fav team playing live. It's a bit crowded after 6 PM, you will get table if you reach before that. This place has reserved and unreserved seating. Close to Central station and bus stops.

Been a few times since it was renovated inside at the back and it's such a nice bar to chill in. 98p Tuborg's everyday of the week!!! 😁😁😁 Food was lovely as well, had a hotdog and fish n' chips which were spot on. Some odd characters in now and again but apart from that everything good.

I love the Jug, great atmosphere, cheap alcohol, nothing overpriced, karaoke, does exactly what you want of a Glasgow boozer. Right across from Central station too and a short walk from local hotels and takeaway places too. Great little pub.

Nice wee pub in an ideal location, right next to Central Station, its always busy as you can imagine, and its well known for 98p bottle of beers (usually Tuborg), amongst other drinks promos and also quite popular for its reasonably priced food, although the Girlfriend and I have yet to try the food. We don't frequent this pub as often now, as they changed their on tap Dark Fruit Cider from Strongbow to Magner, which just isn't as nice. However we did go here on Thursday Dec 12th for the football. Generally have no problems in this pub, was served by a younger brunette bar maid probably around our age (28), ordered a pink gin & lemonade, which was served nicely in balloon glass with all the fruit garnishes and a pint of Heverlee, always a bonus when pub has premium lager on tap. So when girlfriend and I had finished went back up to order and was served by an older brunette barmaid and I asked for a double pink gin this time and a bottle of Tuborg when she poured the gin she served me it in a pokey champagne style flute, bear in mind this is a double, so I said excuse can you put it in a bigger glass please, she said "Naw", I thought she was joking, so I said can I have it in a bigger glass please, she still said Naw, the big glasses are for the fancy gins, getting quite annoyed and on the verge of telling her stick it, I said that is a double can I have a bigger glass please as my last gin which was only a single and was served in a gin glass, she retorted who served you then put in double hi ball, eventually, but filled it up mixer to less than half way, and then I said could you fill it to the top, I never said please this time, so she had the cheek to retort "Please?" despite getting blunty told "Naw" by her the 3 times I politely requested a bigger glass, I never said please for lemonade I should have but I was starting get very mythed with her stinking attitude to a simple request. I work with customers as well, although in retail and not the food and drink industry, so I know customers can be pretty difficult or down right ignorant. I was a customer making a reasonable request the only the reason to be told you can't a particular glass, should be if they dont have any left because they are all dirty, never had a problem any where else asking for a particular glass ie, long drink glass, craft beer glass, etc. If I want a double spirit and mixer in a pint glass thats my choice, as long as you aren't cheeky about the request, which I wasn't. Had we not been here to watch the football I would have told her just keep the drinks. If she had been a customer speaking like that to Bar man/woman, I would imagine she would get refused service, if i was the bar man, I'd certainly refuse service.

Love this place. The staff are amazing all do froendly and welcoming. Their new luch menu is budget but nice witha good choice of home made meals. The music and atmosphere is always a bonus in here and i love their drinks choices from bottled to pints, cocktails and they even sourced me alcohol free lager and wine which was lovely and its tgat attrntion to their customer's requests that makes ne return again and again

An excellent 'community pub' in close proximity to Glasgow Central Railway Station. You can get 2 bottles of Tuborg for a total of £1.96- has to be amongst the best value in the City. Good looking barmaids who are happy to be sociable too. Food served in rear lounge. For a one hour 'pop-in' - it's hard to beat!.

This is a good bar and attracts a variety of people due to being situated across the road from central station. I would give it four stars if it wasn't for all the crazies it attracts, mainly due to 99p a bottle of Tuborg. Busy most nights but can get particularly rammer at weekends, has an outside seating area too but it's right on a busy street littered with all sorts of loons. Good for sport too

Not really for me, the drink is very cheap, this makes it very busy and noisy. If your after a family place then this isn't the bar for you, but if your after a night out where cost is the priority then I'd recommend the Toby jug, it'll be right up your street.

I absolutely adore The Toby Jug! It is less than a minute's walk from Glasgow Central station. In the station pub, a glass of wine costs almost £7. In the Toby Jug, a BOTTLE of wine is just under £6. You can get a bottle of lager for less than a pound and a jug (of potent) cocktail for about £8. A 3 course meal (soup, fish n chips and apple pie) is a fiver!!! There's even a veggie option. Those prices bang in the city centre cannot be beaten! The Toby Jug has comfy couches, clean toilets, lots of TVs (for football), karaoke on a Saturday night and lovely staff. It is a wee hidden gem. It is in no way pretentious. A wee bit "rough n ready" even, but I've never had any trouble there. Opposite in fact - have spent pleasant hours with strangers there. There are seats outside for smokers and a bouncer on the door. The only thing that is not good about the Toby Jug is the empty bottle bin/trolley next to the bar. The bar staff throw empties in it constantly and the noise is horrible! I mean, really bad. If they moved that elsewhere and took the ham out of their lentil soup for us vegans, the Toby Jug would be perfect! 😁
