Love this pub, Emmie and Roger are fantastic with the best pub dog ever. We have eaten here now quite a few times and are never disappointed. New Year’s Eve was brilliant and the food was certainly upped a notch, although the sticky toffee pudding defeated me. The band were really good too, hope they have more nights like this. Be back very soon

Dinner for 4. - 15/12/22 Bitterly cold night outside but warm welcome inside. Fabulous food- 2 of us had the superb pies. One had the Duck which was cooked perfectly. We had a visitor with us from Finland who wanted to try the English Fish and chips, no disappointment here. The staff and manager are all friendly and courteous, the highest praise though must go to the chef. Thank you. B. Taylor-walker

I visited this pub with my parents as it 's likely to be my new local. The stafff are charming and accommodating, and whilst on first glance I thought the menu was perhaps a little limiting I was wrong as all of us had difficulty in narrowing down our choices to just one. The food was fantastic - really decent quality and flavour, we all loved our starters and mains. Portion size was great too, even for a man with an appetite like mine! All in all, thoroughly recommended and I'll be visiting again, whether it's my local or not.

Excellent Sunday lunch - delicious Turkey, juicy and full of flavour, and tasty Haunch of Venison. Properly cooked fresh vegetables, and great crunchy roast potatoes. Followed with a light and not too sweet Bakewell Tart and custard. Sunday lunch does not get any better!

Fantastic village pub that was extremely accomodating with our large party and various last minute requests! We had the Christmas party menu and the food was excellent and full of flavour. Certainly well above the level of service and quality you might expect for a small village pub! Also very reasonably priced and a very good selection of drinks and ales (Mojo the Dog was also very friendly!) Would absolutely return!

Came here for fathers day with the famalam ( family ) and it could not of gone better. From the very friendly waiting staff who showed us to our table and took our drinks order to the other member of staff who took our food order, you are treated extremely well. Now let's start on the food I can only go by what everyone else had and they all thoroughly enjoyed their meals. I believe they had the corn fed chicken, sirloin of beef and the rack of lamb, which I also had. My meal was maybe one of the best bits of lamb I've had in a long time perfectly Cooked ( lamb needs to be pink 😍 ) and the carrot was a game changer. We all really enjoyed the serving plates of roast potatoes and cauliflower cheese ( which could rival my mums ). The roasties were done to perfection. The deserts were next and I think nearly all of us had the Belgian waffles 🧇 And surprise surprise they were lovely. The salted caramel ice cream cutting through the sweetness of the waffles and fried banana perfectly. In most of my restaurant/pub reviews I normally ask myself would I visit again. On this occasion I really don't think I need to ask it as its such an easy answer. The only question is when are we next free on a Sunday for a visit or even better get a babysitter and come for a date night. I'll definitely be seeing you guys again.

This would have to have been one of the best, quiet English country pubs to relax with a cold beer after a day of relations finding in the local grave yard. Loved the atmosphere and to think that that the forefathers would have sipped beer here too several 100 years ago

Whilst at RIAT we stopped here for a few drinks. Didn't really feel like the staff wanted RIAT people there to be honest. Few comments about it being too busy and be glad once it's over. Thought they'd appreciate the trade
