Reviews of The Regal - JD Wetherspoon
A. B.
A lovely converted 1930s cinema with a lovely atmosphere. Make sure you go to the end and see King Kong and the 2 Oscars. Food was tasty and service was swift. Recommended.
D. B.
Great restaurant if you looking for something a bit more upbeat. There were lots of people all having a good time. The drinks were cheap and the burgers were really good and reasonably priced. The restaurant was clean the staff were friendly and helpful. Most importantly even though it was busy the food came out quickly and was well cooked.
Will definitely go again.
S. H.
The three ales on were in excellent condition and the table service was the usual speedy experience
L. S.
Been quite a while since I've had chance to go out for an afternoon pub meal. Fancied a quick bite before shopping and definitely didn't want to have any more fast food drive thru's.
Went to The Regal on a Saturday before Gloucester played rugby. Didn't know what to expect service wise, but read a sign at the bar saying that we could order from our table using the app. The app was really straight forward, ordered food and drinks for myself and my daughter. Modified her burger to have no salad and extra bacon and cheese and modified my burger to have halloumi fries in. Paid on the app also.
There was about a 10 minute wait for drinks to arrive. Which wasn't bad considering the amount of people there. Food came not too long after, looked amazing. Portion size was great as mine included onion rings too. Chips and burger were super hot. Only downside was the burger still contained salad, bonus being more for me!!
Didn't get offered any sauces and a quick scan of the room didn't help find a bottle of much needed ketchup either. Without the usual condiments for such a meal, the food was still 9/10. I would definitely go again!
A. C.
Big open space for outside drinking. Large venue with loads of seating inside. Not enough ventilation in the toilets.
J. S.
Atmosphere is normal
Working collective is friendly, good listeners, communicative.
Music is great for different people, you will not be bored.
Dancing place is small, hope they will better it through time.
Unfortunately hygiene is not good, especial if you use toilets.
P. C.
My Grandson wanted a cooked breakfast, so we went to the Regal, had a good breakfast both enjoyed it.
J. G.
The breakfast was delicious and so fairly priced. You can't beat it! The restaurant was clean, nice ambiance and the staff were very friendly. No complaints here.
E. G.
I go for my Steak and chips. Lovely Pub with an absolutely beautiful Garden area. Go check it out I guarantee you will not be disappointed. Friendly Staff. Good value for money.
j. G.
A great place to meet with friends, for a few drinks and food. Rock and Roll bingo on a Monday @7pm, with the lovely fun manager Chloe 🤩🤩🤩 highly recommended x
R. W.
5 stars is underrated I won't lie. The regal does Rock and Roll bingo on a Monday night (7pm 😉).
My mate won 4 times so far whether it be shots or money, and I've been close to winning every time I've been.
Chloe is the one who runs it and shes an absolute laugh.
If you're in Gloucester, hedge your bets and play. £1 for a ticket ain bad lads!
Prizes for every round is just the cherry on the cake.
m. M. 1.
Very reasonably priced and quite a big selection of food on the menu. It has a very nice, friendly atmosphere and all the staff are very friendly.
K. S.
Ordered traditional breakfast and tea, unfortunately the food was cold so it wasn't exactly a great dining experience.
S. M.
Another great place again good food not expensive friendly staff got served straight away.
J. R.
Could do with wheelchair accessibility to the rear as well as the steps, but overall very clean and polite staff
K. S.
It's a really nice place to chill out. The decorations are amazing as well (sorry that I forgot to took a picture of it,as it's on the ceiling). The service is great, food look gorgeous and so do the taste.
D. J.
Popped in for a couple of drinks on my day off .. Had to clear a table to sit down .. cleaned it with wipes I carry. Noticed when taking food out the staff are walking past dirty tables instead of collecting empty plates etc on their way back. Even the person in charge is spraying onto tables instead of into a cloth, the cleaning products are being sprayed by people eating and drinking.. All need a lesson or two on how to collect and clean tables .
P. 2.
People here very well trained they are very helpful and is a special needs person need help special needs person need help they will act defined time to help that persin time to help that person yes it is get very busy sometimes it is get very busy sometimes but I find every time I go here they're always There was also an event going on but meant it was extra busy Is the opening of the new area That Right net to the club
M. B.
I don't believe it .... toilets that are easy to find in a wetherspoons ... its a miracle... its a redesigned cinema and the is still parts of the old building left.. the ceilings arestill in place aswell as a King Kong .. Great pub ... with wheelchair lifts in place ..
P. J.
Absolutely love coming here on a Monday to play bingo with Chloe! She’s the best!
J. W.
The regal is a good place to go, especially for students and on Music Bingo night that Chloe runs (best manager 🙂)
J. M.
Good location in the town centre. It's a few minutes walk from the Transport Hub (Bus Station), with the Railway Station across the road.
Bus service is very frequent.
Plenty of Town Centre parking within a few minutes walk.
It is a big place and might have been a Picture House in it's past life. No photo's or info on the walls to tell you, that I could see.
It has an old side which faces on to the Town square and a new side which is all glass.
It is a nice and airy place, with a good atmosphere.
Good service and food very good as well. It is the normal Wetherspoons menue for food and drink.
G.
They have a good deal for Fish and Chips only on Fridays. In general, good place enough... DJ on Fridays and Saturdays till 2:00 am )))
G. S.
Good food and service at a budget friendly price... oh and the beer is nicely chilled.
L. C.
Such a nice place, recommend rock and roll bingo with Chloe on a Monday.
L. G.
Great place to meet friends , Chloe the manager is fun on a Monday at bingo x
J. W.
Quick service but the food is not very nice .
C. R.
Food has always been great. Staff are always friendly. I would of given 5 stars if the hot drinks machines worked properly on a regular basis.
P. M.
Decent for the location. Great place to start a night out.
J. M.
Plenty of room. Great outside area. Good service and food good for the price
c. d.
Absolutely lovely place, bingo night was so much fun !
E. A.
Nice meal and good service, I use the app so just go in and sit down. Always like the food you get and a nice atmosphere
O. B.
Superb interior design, very nice staff and delicious food.
S. K.
OK food poor ..asked for rare steak came out well done!
S. D.
As an older male.......Cheap, excellent beer.
Bit loud for me to tell you the truth.Llots of kids on a bender ........ but no trouble. All G.
P. S.
Food as expected, friendly staff, good service.
Pub decorations in theme as for old cinema (King Kong)
K. L.
Lovely pub very big nice two tier seating out side
M. W.
Lots of atmosphere with half of Gloucester rugby supporters getting refreshed before the game. Saying that service was quick
D. J. D.
Good experience with my disabled partner.comfortable environment with good honest food.will definitely revisit occasionally whilst in town..
J. D.
Just your basic weatherspoons, toilets are rank made me feel sick.
Food is standard.
c. r.
Not the beat of the chain but friendly staff . The food is better these days for sure ,after the lockdown it was struggling to achieve the quality tbh . Back up to speed . I had a curry and my partner had the burger Meal . Beer good all for £16+ what more can you ask for for that sort of money .
D. P.
Food ok, fast service. Toilets are horrendously disgusting. Both ladies and men.
m. w.
Food was OK. Bar service a bit slow better use the app.
c.
Nice wetherspoons, quick service, nice to seat by the large windows. Food was good and warm.
D. B.
A little bit dated inside but as with all Wetherspoons drink very well priced the surprise was the food. Handmade pizza was very very good ( a bit spicy for me ) but everyone else loved it. Service was excellent. Plenty of atmosphere for sporting events and telly's galore.
k. s.
Had lunch here today. Wonderful pub set in an old cinema. The king kong feature was fantastic & had lot of cinema memorabilia. Had the lemon & herb chicken with halloumi cheese, & coleslaw for lunch, was a fantastic meal. Lovely citrusy chargrilled taste to it, the naga sauce was very spicy but full of flavour. Wss a wonderful meal & would definitely have it again. The food was served pretty quickly, staff were really nice & polite. Was a massive selection of beers, ales & spirits to choose from at amazing prices. Beer starts at 99p a pint. Highly recommended this venue.
S. C.
Lots of very jolly people at 6pm..! I understand Gloucester won the rugby that afternoon!
Good food.. had to wait a while but all good 👍
J. H.
Lovely food, we didn't have to wait long either.
J. S.
Sympathetic use of the old cinema, very nostalgic. Decent food & beer, cheap prices.
What I loved about this place is that they appear to be offering opportunities to those that have had few of them in the past. Great to see, well done Wetherspoons.
B. M.
I visited gloucester Kingsquare with my daughter and grandchildren so visited the regal for a spot of lunch and a few cuppas. Thoroughly enjoyed our lunch
A. J.
Excellent food
B. J.
Good food at a good price and the potions are good and filling. Good service as well
A. T.
Ok for a quick pint and i had the pizza very nice thanks.
D.
The place is lovely but the food was a little disappointing. The potato was dry as it was a cheese jacket potato there wasn't much cheese on it.
S. H.
Good food and drink at a very reasonable price
D. H.
Meal was excellent and the Steak cooked to perfection just the way I like it. Covid 19 precautions working well and social distances were well observed.
A. H.
Took a while - 25+mins - for drinks to arrive via app, but enjoyed the food and had a nice time with the family.
D. W.
A good Wetherspoons with lots of seating available to choose your own private spot. There are friendly staff, with efficient service at the bar and delivering food. They have great drink options which regularly change and at the best price in the city.
R. B.
Loads of space, great atmosphere, good coffee and refills. Quick food if you need it at a cheap price. Bar open late for party time - with a small dance floor.
B. P.
Drinks we cheep and happy staff we very help full with my orders
D. C.
Very nice food. Quick service. Friendly staff. Only downside was the 3 drunks in the corner even though they didn't cause any harm. Staff were quick to stop them smoking in the wrong area
M.
Great place for the price. The Buttermilk chicken burger is an amazing choice on the menu, and the staff were very helpful when it came to modifying the order. The refillable coffee is a great addition, as well as the ice cold drinks. A huge thanks to our waiter Callum. I've had him a few times now, and he's always given me a good laugh and conversation during the order.
L. P.
Mathew gave great service and was well presented and gave me a smile so must say was a great experience
L. b.
great place to go lovely staff and environment!
D. J. B.
Quick service. Yummy food. Cheap and cheerful.
j. d.
Typical Wetherspoons, wide choice of Ales and good food.
J. W.
Good beer and shorts and lovely staff.
K. B.
Had managers special and pint for just over £8 great.
a. b.
It's a spoons so says what it does on the tin. Plenty seating but was quiet on my visit. Nice touch the toilets are not up a million stars. Good outdoor seating area on warmer days.
M. W.
Hmmmmm what can I say?? Well it’s a Wetherspoons pub with a Hollywood theme. It’s not incredibly clean, but not extremely dirty either. It’s ok and quite large being an old converted cinema. It’s a good place to grab a breakfast and start your day. There are worst Wetherspoon pubs out their, but this is not one of them.
S. B.
Nice place for breakfast.Good conversion of a disused cinema into a eatery
J.
As always like any other Wetherspoons it has great food at a very good price! Be warned though at busy times like evening get there early to save yourself disappointment from no seating as you can not reserve a table here. Other then that yummy place to eat.
R. G.
Great food, friendly staff ! Highly recommended for everyone
C. H.
The food was cold when it got to our table and had to wait what seamed like forever
C. J.
Standard wetherspoons, good cheap food, friendly staff,
R. S.
Excellent service fantastic food nice setting pleasant atmosphere good price
C. W.
Well we went in for food three times in a week and I tried a different meal each time. Couldn't fault the food at all or the staff, everyone I dealt with were always polite and friendly.
D.
Great food lovely atmosphere friendly staff huge pub loved the fact it used to be a cinema. Really lovely place def worth a visit x will be coming back next time we are in the area x
V. H.
Its a spoons you know what your getting
To be fair it was very busy due to a rugby match but the staff still managed good service
A. P.
Main breakfast nice but my eggs benedict not so nice
K. W.
Excellent value for money. Great service ' friendly staff
e. a.
Brilliant fantabulous Chloe I love you
D. H.
Prices are good. Pizza was cheap and nasty plastic cheese and doughy base. Not as good as previous visits probably due to Covid and staffing levels.
A. c.
As always with Witherspoon's, there was plenty of choice for food and drinks for a reasonable price. The service was quick and professional. The pub itself was beautiful with an outdoor seating area. Would definitely recommend.
p. m.
Great place for a drink and a meal friendly atmosphere staff are friendly and helpful
D. J.
Today the drink took ages to arrive and then it was the wrong one! (Changed without issue once notified) And table clearance was an issue. But the food was as expected
K. V.
Ok , staff were lovely. App was easy to use . Food was just ok came in mins and was ok - chicken burger wasn't that hot . Table was sticky always feel its abit grubby in there
J. H.
Food is great ! So much choice and the atmosphere in there when full is brilliant. We'll be back for sure.
M. P.
Had couple pints. Great place
A. L.
Your typical weatherspoons. Cheap grub and busy on the weekends!!!
I. M.
Good serving, nice place, nice decoration, awesome flowers on the terrace, friendly waiters
H. “. W.
Good food excellent as always
g. f.
As with all weatherspoons great prices for drinks and food and a nice outdoor area to relax and enjoy the night.
P. B.
Loads.of scantily clad chubby birds with ample back fat and bingo wings. Slow service but as cheap as chips
P. K.
Top bar.. toilet not 4 miles away as they normally are in the spoons
S. R.
Ultimate burger and a beer for lunch in here today.
A. A.
Family-centric affordable restaurant and pub. Very pocket friendly and decent traffic.
Free coffee refills got me hooked 😁
R. K.
I love this place, a large place, set out with various characters of the silver screen, staff always very friendly, good food and drink, cater for inside and out, plus great prices, what's not to like. 😀👍
c. j.
Went here with two friends for lunch. Used app to order food and drink. App use was good. Drinks arrived promptly (chosen beverage wasn’t available, but bar staff gave me some other options). Food arrived shortly after with a very generous portion of chips with the meal. Can’t fault the food service at all. Strict COVID rules weren’t that apparent at the bar with a few people drinking at bar (not being served). The pub number needs to be much more prominent for the contract tracking to be used.
M. S.
Great value food and drink. Most meal's come with the choice of a drink with your meal. The puddings are gorgeous. Friendly, happy and helpful staff. Can get very busy at times but you can 9/10 get a table&seat.
Myself&my family go there regularly.
G. B.
Lovely old cinema brought back to life as a community pub nice decor and good outside area too. Great service with a smile.
B. S.
The Regal is great fun! It's the sort of place you can imagine someone walking up to someone else and punching them in the face and then shaking their hand and buying them a drink.
A. Q.
Awesome range of guest Ales. Best Wetherspoons in the country.
j. “. s.
I've given 3stars because wetherspoons could do with an update, the place is looking alittle tired, the food is ok, nothing to rave about, maybe they could update the menu as well, but if your hank marvin, starving and you're not to fussy what you eat then this is for you..
E. G.
I visit here every time I come to Gloucester. Conveniently located right off the bus stop. Great place for a first or last stop!
I. G.
Staff friendly and efficient and food is good.
A.
Good prices and good service, perfect for pre drinks before clubbing or for a relaxed night out with my friends.
w. t.
What a lovely place for drink. Hugh space, plenty of seatings as they convert this place as pub. It was an Old cinema before n they used this space well. Love the indoor n outdoor seating. Service is cool as well as staff.
R. L.
Great man for the drinker, he represents what the pub stands for, a cheap drink and food for the working man .
L. C.
beautiful building and garden, loos downstairs.tables not as clean as you would hope and silly magazine's on table that I would think is a massive infection risk as they were filthy.food was good, quick service but not very busy when we went
R. L.
OK Wetherspoons in the centre of Gloucester a short walk from the bus and train stations. It was a bit rowdy when we were in but it was Saturday afternoon. The Regal as the name implies, was a former cinema and the interior is themed accordingly. Decent food as always and very reasonably priced drinks. You can't go too wrong with a Wetherspoons.
J. G.
Stopped for breakfast when changing trains. Breakfast muffin was rock hard!
C. L.
Lovely place, lovely staff.
Ordered the chicken burger. Bun was brioche unfortunately (what's the deal with sweet bread and savoury fillings?) and the chicken was rubbery.
First meal in Spoons that I didn't enjoy
T. M.
Lots of space, cheap alcohol, next to all the bus stops and shops
R. P.
A good wetherspoon clean staff lovely
A. W.
Nice food and great beer
J. A.
Amazing interior, old cinema converted to pub. Keeping with original cinema theme. Staff timely and polite. Best weatherspoons experience so far.
J. C.
Good food and served quickly, but trays full of empty plates sitting on tables for quite a while.
G. E.
A beautiful old cinema that has been sympathetically converted into a pub, but it could do with a little love now. The seats were dirty and the tables sticky.
The staff were friendly and helpful.
We only stopped for a drink on this occasion.
A. C.
Myself and my partner had our .meals And drinks.there today it was busy and got about 20 minutes wait.got our meals with in that time approx 10 minutes.meals nice.drinks nice staff nice.
R. H.
Always visit on my way to Castle Grim.
Great staff.
But just a request.
Encourage more table service in favour of Qing at the bar please.
R. A.
A typical spoons pub! Beers good and plenty of choice at a good price. I've eaten there a few times, mainly breakfasts and have always had a decent meal. The staff on the whole are helpful.
C.
I like Wetherspoons but it's just the regal isn't the best in Gloucester.
J. B.
Nice food nice staff nice drink nice prices lovely old building ,👍👍
A. B.
Lovely fresh coffee. Very enjoyable.
D. L.
Great place. Good service
R. S.
So inexpensive and the food always arrives really quickly and piping hot. The staff are friendly and helpful although obviously rushed off their feet. One of the few pleasant places left to get a proper meal near Gloucester city centre these days.
s. s.
Called in for coffee our first visit to this spoons. Was quite busy with breakfasts. Which looked good. The staff were very friendly behind the bar.
One waitress was clearing tables very efficiently!! Tables were wiped ,menus tidied ,and chairs pushed in. Parts of the pub could do with a refurb . Will visit again when in Gloucester.
P. B.
Fast food service. Less than ten minutes to receive some paninis with chips. Tasted good and was hot. Pleasant service by the lady clearing the tables, asking if everything was OK. Pleasantly surprised for a cheap lunch.
d. s.
1st time coming here, the staff very friendly and helpful, the meal was hot, tasty and filling. Loved that you can get free refills on hot drinks, there is a lift by the en to get down to the bar, also upstairs seating by entrance, but ir you want to go outside area no lift but about 6 steps, only other problem is only to hotdrink refills which are by entrance so you have a walk dodging people to get to table, if you had a sloap to go up for outside and another place for hot drink refills would of got 5 starts
j. s.
Nice Saturday night there last weekend , only went for 1 drink with friends , 4 of us in total . We have now all got Covid 19 isolation notifications to isolate for 7 days. It was the only place we went to and signed in . Cheers Weatherspoons . Puts you off going out at all at the moment. Ive now lost a weeks wages and had to cancel all my weeks plans . It just isnt worth the risk , so many unvaccinated young people in one place.
S. W.
Great place to meet up with friends.
D. B.
One of the most impressive wetherspoons I have been to. Service is friendly, the bar itself is spacious. There are a lot of different areas to the bar. Seating is comfortable, beer garden is nice. The drinks deals are brilliant as always, you get what you pay for in terms of food and its typical pub grub but it does me. Definitely come here again with the lads for a smash up.
C. A.
Good food and nice atmosphere :)
A. K.
I had a 6oz burger with the fries, and i can honestly say i really enjoyed it! The burger was a decent pattie, and was cooked just how i liked! The staff are very attentive and polite. Its always worth a visit when were in town doing a bit of shopping!
g. p.
Brilliant fp food is lovely aswel
m. u.
Good customer service, food good and hot. Well the mixed grill is. Keep yourself to yourself and it's all fun
W. G.
Cheap drink. Nice breakfast.
If I could crucify Tim Martin and Boris Johnson back to back on the same cross. I probably would
G. F.
Will modify review if eating here affects it. As far as drinks go, the prices are fair and all is well. The building looks to be an old cinema and it's beautiful. There aren't stools at the bar sadly so you can't really generate that close atmosphere as all the seating is in a restaurant setup as it's also a restaurant, but that's just the nature of the venue. I'd like to see stools at part of the bar so it's easier to meet people.
P. B.
If you've ever been to a Wetherspoons then You know what your getting. Food is a decent standard for the price. Not somewhere to go on a first date or for a gourmet meal but nice enough. Great selection of drinks and this Wetherspoons in particular is nicely laid out with different levels and plenty of seating. The beer garden is very nice. Great place just to pop in for lunch or a relaxing drink. Staff were very helpful friendly and smiley too.
s. H. s.
Staff are lovely, thank you to the young guy who got a wet cloth for my son who fell and cut his knee. Also to the lovely lady who was eating with her family for giving him a plaster. Food was absolutely lovely.
B. B.
We arrived at prime busy time Saturday evening and managed to find a table for the 4 of us. Using the Weatherspoon's app, which is such a life saver, we ordered from the table. Our food and drinks arrived promptly and everyone was happy with the typical Weatherspoon's fare. A slight mix up with one drink was easily and quickly resolved at the bar. The only negative really was how dreadfully sticky the floor was by the bar. When I asked the staff they said that it had been a busy day and they couldn't clean midway through the day. That's a fair point but it did let the place down slightly.
D. A.
Typical Spoons pub.
Great place with good quality 'cheap as chips' food plus the usual good selection of ales. One of the larger Spoons boozers with plenty of seating.
You would probably get a seat here at 9pm on a Saturday.
An all round good experience.
R. L.
The Regal is very spacious, multi-levelled and welcoming. It used to be a theatre back in the day and fronts an over head display of movie props. If you want very good value for money then come here, food is perfect and the drinks are classic Wetherspoons prices. They have a little library of books that you’re free to read should you fancy it. Staff are good at their job and the regulars aren’t too bad either.
M. E. J.
The Regal is a good place to met up with friends and hang out for a bit as it has a cosy atmosphere and is right in the centre of town. It's also quite a big place and has lots of places to sit. I also love how they make use of the building to add decorations, it really adds to to the feels of the place. The food is nice enough but it's a bit sad you have to pay extra for chips, should really be included. The staff are okay but sometimes look like the don't know what they're doing.
S. G.
Visited with my friend, we both had jacket potato. It was absolutely delicious, compliments to the chef. Food was hot, well presented and excellent service. Thank you for helping to make our day so lovely
N. N.
Went for breakfast always good
S. B.
Pre rugby beer 🍺 good service
B. G.
Looks like an old converted cinema. Unfortunately I fell down the stairs when entering and sprained ankle. Had to go to the hospital to get an x-ray. People there said I wasn't the first to have this happen to me. The staff were really good about it and tried to help me but I think the pub should consider adjusting the stairs to make the steps bigfer which I think would make them less dangerous.
Was able to walk so we still had lunch here. Food was nice but they got the order wrong. Ordered a vegetarian brie and sweet chilli pizza with extra mushrooms and it arrived covered in chicken. They swapped it but the extra mushrooms were missing. I didn't complain as it seemed wasteful to make a third pizza just for some fungus.
F. W.
The staff are really friendly, the food arrived withing 5-6 minutes, the portions were perfect and the food was yummy. My only complaint is that the table was slightly sticky. But it didn't ruin my experience :) Overall, a wonderful place to go and eat out at for a bit of good food.
S. L.
Always value for money. Excellent
J. E.
Food is basic and cheap, typical deep fried stuff, boil in the bag etc. but for the price I can't fault it, the atmosphere isn't bad, especially out of peak hours. Frequented by a whole range of different people. Just a place to go if you don't want to cook and you'd like to just sit and have a drink with your meal. Didn't give a five star because sometimes the tables haven't been uncleared, but that is expected during busier times.
D. C.
It's not a bad place to drink. But much better bars just a short walk away. If you go into at night you will be waiting a long time to get served. The staff are friendly but there is no system to managing the bar and you end up waiting a lot longer than you should. Food is ok but like I said much better options within walking distance.
A. M.
This place has had a reputation in the past, but has got it's act together. Good service (good enough to make the Hatherley Manor look poor). Good staff, good coffee, good breakfast. If they reconnect the smoking heaters I will go the extra star
C. N. H.
It's a Wetherspoons. The food and drinks are cheap and the atmosphere is a little depressing. It's a Wetherspoons.
Go to the one in the docks. It's much better. It doesn't look or feel like a Wetherspoons until you see the trademark blue and white plates.
M. W.
Went for breakfast two days running. Must say it's the hottest Wetherspoon's breakfast I've ever had.
Staff friendly and cheery and very welcoming. Served both days by the same lady, superb member of staff. Happy and bubbly. Definitely recommend this particular Wetherspoons for a very hot breakfast
S. J.
You know what you're getting from a Weatherspoons. Curry night. Curry, starter, pops and a pint for under a tenner. Can't go wrong. Good choice of ales. Fast service On the night we were there clientele were OK. Of course curry won't be up to the standards of a curry purist but it was good enough for us!
M. S.
Chloe is the best person in the world
C. N.
Bit hard to find because of building work, nice outside area. Typical food and came quickly and hot, efficient staff.
M. G.
Gathering place for start or End of evening 🙂 And still is but with Kings Square all looking good will be so much Better 🤓 Kings square much better but more please
T. M.
Spacious and clean. The staff were kind and welcoming and the food came out promptly.
S. W.
Popped in on way to rugby so was very busy but still able to get a table. Very impressed with the table service app on the phone. Food turned up after twenty minutes which instead could of spent queuing at the bar given the numbers in there. Very reasonable price as well and enjoyed the food.
S. H.
Nice atmosphere in old cinema. Even film reels on the carpet! Usual food and service. No complaints.
d. p.
I personally think it's overpriced for my budget but my nan and Auntie and family absolutely love it there they always have food there so I'll give a free stars
C. B.
The building was great being an old cinema but food not so
d. m.
Cheap and cheerful, good range of beers and good food at good prices
M. G.
The food is always amazing and the staff
x. s.
Chloe is the best host going
C. W.
Great food & drink as usual. Very popular, just a bit shabby, could do with a facelift
A.
Ambient was cozy and welcoming, which is more than what can be said about the staff. Ordering meals and drinks via app is great and that’s worth one star. Downside of the app that it doesn’t do same promotions that are being advertised on the physical menu and you don’t get an option to additional info or requests - like no ice in the drink.
Menu and prices are ok, I had a steak - ordered Sirloin as Rump wasn’t available and I ended up with Rump -not an accurate order but I welcomed it. Steak was GREAT and chips were chips.
We also ordered some drinks in person and interesting fact that food came before drinks.
All in all, I’ll probably come back for the steak.
P. B.
Very noisy due to a rugby match being shown. No problem but you don't show football and once with a group of pensioners was told we were too loud (there were only four other people there at the time)
A. B.
Some good value for money offers, IF you look for them !
B. M.
It's Spoons, so you get Spoons! Staff are good, food is Spoons standard but service is great, particularly for how busy it is they do put it our at a high rate. They don't scrimp on portions either in my experience. Looking for a cheap meal/drink? It's a decent Spoons!
J. B.
Great value pub with a brilliant choice of drinks including premium alcohol, which is also a good price. There are plenty of good quality meals to choose from and they have regular week day offers.
I like using the Weatherspoons app, which saves you having to go up to the bar and ordering. So it's nice to get table service and much quicker than queuing!
S. A.
Well run establishment conforming to covid rules. Excellent food and beer. Its a crying shame it has to close. If everywhere had behaved in a sensible way we could all be moving on to a bright future.
K. G.
Went twice whilst on holiday for a few days. Food and drink good and reasonably priced. A bit cold as there seems to be a draught flowing through the building. Service was good on first visit. However encountered a really rude barmaid the second time and ended up walking out in disgust. My partner was totally ignored whilst waiting at the bar.....twenty minutes later a 'regular' walked up to the bar and was served immediately...when my partner complained she was told (rudely)...he was before you and then carried on laughing and joking with the other customer whilst continuing to ignore my partner. Apart from this one young lady, the rest of the staff were great. Show's how one bad penny can ruin a visit.
N. S.
Went in for something to eat on Saturday lunchtime. Very busy due to Rugby being on. Despite this was served quickly and food was good. Very interesting interior with cinema props. Would be good to have more photos of the building before it was a pub.
C. J.
Very competitive price of food and drinks.
Fast service, but very few people wearing masks in a crowded environment.
J. F.
This popular old cinema The Regal is always busy but we choose it less these days because it has become gruby and shabby. The menus are always sticky yuk, the seats are discusstingly shiny with grime ingrained into the upholstery, the air vents above our table by the entrance we're thick with black dust.
We continue to use it because I am disabled and we can park right outside. The food is always fresh, we had some sharing platters fir £10 two spicy prawns and one chicken both come with dips it is plenty for a light lunch when you don't want a huge plateful. The staff are freindly, I wish they could have a refurb soon it's shabby and puts you off, I never use the toilets because there were several out of order last time I used them and you have to push open two doors to get in. Its is not a shiny and clean place I wouldn't take my mother in that's a certainty. Shame because it's handy for the shops. This pub has a lot of competition nearby so it needs to pull its socks up soon or risk losing regulars.
P. A.
A typical large Wetherspoons. It was quiet when we were in on Thursday evening, though it perhaps had more life than anywhere in town.
It has a basic selection of beers and ciders. I'm not really sure how they make their claim of 30 craft beers and ciders at the entrance, unless you double count each tap and bottle.
Not a bad pub, and good prices. Just lacking any buzz when we went.
M. J. “. R.
An excellent Wetherspoos, used to be a cinema. Large open plan on different levels. A large fenced off beer garden, that is quite a sun trap. Friendly staff, food was great, our steaks were cooked exactly as requested.
j. g.
Reasonably priced food, popular dishes on menu, quick and efficient service and a pleasant environment. Couldn't ask for better at the price.
As the name Regal suggests, the building was originally a cinema and retains much of its original 1930s character. Outside space with tables for those who prefer to dine al-fresco. Check out the historic prints of past cinema celebritys displayed around the walls and see how many famous faces from the past you can name.
D. B.
So convenient, great food, Staff are extremely helpful. The only downside is the amount of time it can take to be served. That's not down to the staff, who are working very hard. It's merely the size of the venue. Have used it quite a lot since it opened and will continue to do so.
S. H.
This establishment serves reasonably priced drinks which also comes in a large range as well and the food is sold at competitive prices. This pub have got the full 5 stars but unfortunately the tables weren't wiped down well and it wasn't the tidiest, the staff did come across as a little simple harsh to say but fair, and although the food was really well cooked and really tasty it looked like s**t on a plate
B. 1.
If you want to stop and have a drink or a reasonably priced meal, this place never lets down. The Toilet facilities were not very impressive, of the 3 cubicles 1 had a broken lock which did a token effort and another had its toilet roll dispenser ripped from the wall. The floor was sticky and it also appeared there was sick or something else around and up the base of the toilet.
R. J.
Usual wetherspoons. Huge bar area and friendly staff.
J. F.
Nice atmosphere and kindness personal 🙂
A. R.
Very good selection of alcohol, for a cheap price. Food is great, I normally go for the burgers, curries or overloaded chips (big bowl of chips with cheese and bacon on top). It's great for pre-drinking before going out. I normally leave before the night club like music comes on as I like more pubs than nightclubs but it's the best of both worlds. Even have an app to cut queue lines and have staff delivery service to your specific table.
R. S.
It's a nice old hotel with sun terrace and usual refinements. Food good value, unremarkable side salad- poor. Chips good. Thank ye god's for tartar sauce...ooo ok and sweet young staff: never heard of Martini or vermouth also not on the tariff Hey and these prices ! XX
M. R.
Not a very clean environment
Cutlery was very dirty even though I searched thoroughly. Food about average. No healthy alternatives. My son enjoyed his burgers anyway.
V. W.
Not to bad pandemic rules kept, meal not bad, place has a outside seating but was not busy when we went, yes l would go again if in the place.
K. T.
Great pub just lacking on staff due to covid. Food was good and cheap if you want a cheap meal out
j.
Standard 'Spoons. Called in for a cuppa to warm up while waiting for a train home. App didn't work for ordering but staff were ok
J. H.
Standard large scale Wetherspoon experience; it's a good place to go if there's a big group of you or you want a fair priced family meal. I've always found the staff to be friendly & accommodating. They don't show Sky Sports; only sport on terrestrial TV like the World Cup etc.
S. G.
Saturday is a busy day. Food looked good.but Didn't eat but maybe next time. Beer was good and price excellent. Male lavs could have been better maintained.
D. W.
Indifferent opinion. It is a Wetherspoons and the service isnt dissimilar to other venues. Food was hot and served quickly. Visited early evening and the table we were sat on also sat on the dancefloor that was being cleared for the evening. Felt a bit rushed to finish. Quite lively later on and DJ played music. Quite a large venue also. Refurbished cinema from exterior facade.
K. B.
Excellent service and top quality food well worth a try. I took a friend there, and he is now a regular customer.
C. B.
Lovely place, nice pint and very impressive display of King Kong in the old seating area. We were told it doesn't light up - that's a shame, would have made a great photo 6😁👍
J. D.
Food is as you'd expect from a spoons. Staff are fantastic and polite. On my visit, they had some very difficult and aggresive customers and they dealt with the issue as best they could
C. T.
Good atmosphere great choice of drinks and good food, at a reasonable price.
T. L.
I do enjoy it here, food very nice and presented lovely, but the wait at the bar is crazy..... Definitely need more staff on the bar, and focus them on a session each.. or maybe if waiting staff see bar getting bust they join the bar team and help out for a short while!!!!!Also wish they had a little music in the back group.😳
J. P.
Sometimes OK but has more regular drinkers that others in Gloucester. Not as suitable for children as some Wetherspoons but they are allowed in. Set in old cinema with some of the features still in place. Small outside area but very smokey.
r. t.
Great value on food and drink
S. C.
Great atmosphere for the game.
Food and beer are really cheap but they could do with warming the food plates. Plate was cold and food barely warm when served which quickly went cood.
C. L.
Big, cheap and a bit depressing in the day but there's always a table and it's inexpensive. Also the tea is just over a quid with free, unlimited refills. Food is good value and staff are friendly.
J. D.
Euros final, no seats inside, but the door staff or manager, let us sit on the table by the gambling machine, they made us a table number and were very helpful, even came to our table to take our orders, couldn't fault the night at all!
B. M.
Well what can I say, the staff are great . The only reason I didn't give it 5 stars is because the woman who was rather drunk and flashing her knickers was using too much foul language and constantly slagged men off 🙁, cant beat spoons for people entertainment though 😉
I. H.
Changing my rating from 4 years ago from yesterdays visit. Plenty of seats still but couldn't pay on the app. Then saw my curry was ready on the hotplate for 5 mins before a waitress delivered it to my table. By that time my naan bread was dry.
S. W.
Sadly, first time I've had to complain about about a wetherspoons steak. The chef clearly does not know how to cook a medium rare 14oz when it's too thick. I wasn't impressed that the waitress claimed to have thrown my steak away when I was served up.my old steak that was now very overcooked. Thanks to the manager for the full refund.
N. H.
A converted cinema Wetherspoons, with some cinematic props overlooking the main seating. Looking a bit tired in some areas....we sat at two different wobbly tables, with really loose tops,I told a staff member, who replied,'yes we know'.Well fix them or dispose of them!
They have doormen/bouncers on evening's ,who seemed a bit selective. They stopped two teenage lads coming in,but there was an all male party of about 12 men getting progressively more drunk, and swearing loudly, this is supposedly a family pub..we left!
E. M.
This is the most typical place to go and grab some food and drinks. Their prices are so affordable & it is one of the most well-known restaurant chains around UK.
I really like that in their menu they add the calories of every dish. If you are a diet pro, you can still find a healthy option for you. They serve from burguers, fries, quinoa salad, appetizers, pizza and others.
I had the chance to eat a burguer and it was so delicious. Moreover, they have amazing deals with burguers + friends and a drink. Best price guarantee.
R. W.
Very busy pub great atmosphere great beers what more can I stay
E. E.
I give The Regal four star's as the food is great, atmosphere is nice very friendly staff and always happy to help however the one let down is that you don't get served in turn of going up to the bar. The regulars seem to get served first which is unfair and annoying. Another positive is they do have a mobile app that you can use to order through if you are able and have a smartphone.
M. W.
Good, cheap food. Friendly staff. What more could you wish for?
C. h. 2.
Well worth a visit .you know what you're getting and they don't discriminate against those with hidden disabilities .5 stars guys and gals
T. S.
Typical Wetherspoons pub. Lively, big and busy. A popular meeting place for pre match food and drinks. Get a table and use the app to order. The service that way was great.
D. M.
Lovely venue but the place must be even better in summer when the patio level can be used in the sun. Very good food, great value for money and plenty of offers on the menu. A good range of drinks too.
L. P.
As a member of the royal family I believed that the 'Regal' would be a regal place, I was astonished by the lack of servants. One would think that they serve water from the tap. I was very quickly made aware of the lack of stables to store my horses on my travels. All in all I would say it is not fit for a king, but maybe a lord.
H. S.
Had a good time good food
E. C.
My wife and I visit quite often and have a meal and a pint. Staff are always great as is the food, for the money. I highly recommend the chicken caesar salad and the Shanghai noodles with shaved rib-eye.
J. R.
There is not much you can say about a wetherspoons but i enjoyed coming here. Because it used to be a theater/cinema years ago the exteriour has a lot of character. What made it nice though was the fact the made a point of it inside. We sat up where the stage used to be and as you look back towards the pub the have a whole city at night there. Really didnt expect it. Breakfast there was lovely. We be popping in here for breakfast again on my next visit.
S. P.
Not the best Wetherspoons around, but the food was hot and good value for money.
Could do with a bit if a overhaul...
r.
Not the best Spoon's but certainly not the worst the enjoyed a good breakfast but tea was terrible no boiling water......
J. E.
quick service, affordable prices, lovely atmosphere, but unfortunately still had the typical stickiness of a wetherspoons
D. C.
Service can be slow as the place is very popular and there is never enough staff. The app is good but it has limited beers on it so you often have to queue. Food is good
S. C.
We went for a drink three times whilst we were in Gloucester and the staff were nice and friendly.
It looked like it wanted some refurbishment. They were carrying out some work in the men's toilets so maybe this is under way.
G. B.
Great place for lunch ..wheelchair access. No long waits service was on key👍💗
A. H.
Large pub. Used to be a theatre and worth a look. Good selection of beer. At the back of the pub is a out door seating area where you can smoke.
C. S.
Good but slow service
C. M.
Not bad Wetherspoons with large outside area. A choice of real ale styles, and bangers and mash were tasty and good value. Friendly efficient staff.
r. p.
Food excellent plenty of staff really good service everyone obeying covid rules even a toilet on the ground floor haha pleasant afternoon
J.
Lovely weather spoons, very warm atmosphere and the food is pretty good as well. Can get quite busy at lunch time however and so finding a seat can sometimes be a struggle
M. S.
Hot and tasty food. Staff were friendly and quick serving food orders. W.C. (men's) was clean and tidy. Would happily go there again for a meal.
J. W.
Staff, as all Wetherspoons. Under paid over worked. Place in good spot. Be patient in busy times, due to lack of staff
D. M.
First class service and very good beer
N. T. J. H.
Very good pub chain priced everyday food and drink items indeed !! If in town centre on your days off work, a must go place with your family and friends for all age groups in and around Gloucester, Cheltenham, rest of county !! Staff very friendly, and helpful, a good food day is curry offer day on a Thursday all day from early on to food still served upto 11pm in the evening here !! Very good nice chicken masala and korma Currie's served !! Go for it ! Everyone pls !!
R. K.
I only went in for a pint well my tyre was being changed.. not that busy and got served straight away.. I have been there in busy times and it can take a while to get served
M.
Well. It's a wetherspoons so I can't really say a bad word about it. It's nice to know that there is a dance floor in it too, the lighting situation throughout the afternoon was a little dull but apart from that amazing service.
M. B.
It's OK. Food was not great but lovely friendly staff
A. P.
Staff not interested in keeping there coffee machine clean
Never have the milk full
the chocolate dusting was missing when I enquire they say can't find it funny haven't had any for 2 weeks
It only takes staff 2-3 min once an hour to check on the units and give them a wipe down they even flash yellow when needing assistance soon and red when they stopped working
Coffee is important but not to this branch of wetherspoons
Also why am I able to order coffee on the app and select what I want but the staff still bring the cup we only use the app when with disabled family members so it then unsociable for one abled body person to then get up to make 2 or 3 coffees what if they were on there own
S. S.
Good ambience with great prices!!
L. S.
Food was great, we didn't have to wait long, fantastic prices even better when you can have as many free refills of coffee or tea as you like.
M. V.
Plenty of room inside, due it being a former cinema, however, does become crowded and rowdy on evenings/weekends. Interesting movie theme decor within the area which would have been the auditorium.
K. C.
Good food good beer
P. R.
Food not bad but they can't do tea
J. V.
Lovely place, good beer, cider, food and service.. although not a regular, always felt welcome.. returning here with my friends every time we stay in Gloucester:-)
S. W.
Always enjoyed the food but my last visit the fish wasn't cooked was nearly sick
K. C.
Always nice food, pleasant staff. Very busy but it was lunch time. Lovely clean toilets
M. F.
Great spoons with a fantastic atmosphere....lovely to have music and a dance floor 👍😊
M. P.
I love you Chloe
R. S.
Converted cinema nice glass window where screen used to be
C. H.
The restaurant is nice, food is good and helpful staff. However the toilet is not very clean and doesn't smell very pleasant.
R. W.
The Regal is an excellent place to eat. The prices are great and the staff are very friendly. The food is filling and very hot plus it is extremely tasty.
J. A.
Amazing venue and great service
J. M.
Loud in the evening and night. Decor is very classic of a UK bar / pub. Bar serves quickly and there is a good amount of space even when the place is packed.
M. S.
Friendly atmosphere. Helpful and friendly staff. Great food and drink. Great prices. Kid friendly at certain times.
Can be noisy at times but there are quiter places to sit.
J. G.
Very strictly controlled portions good value for
money but suitable for lunchtime only wouldn't
Suffice for a healthy appetite typical town centre
Pub bit frayed around the edges
S. M.
Excellent table service through the app. f0ood is always nice and served quickly. Can always get a table. food and drinks are great value for money
J. M.
Very good ,only had a coffee great fan of wetherspoons
L. S.
Staff very helpful and quicker than most wetherspoons pubs....Great value for money
R. F.
Usual good food and great service.
T. W.
Out of all the wetherspoons I've been to this one has got to be my favourite, great views of the bus station from the back, friendly staff and the venue is generally very well kept!
D. K.
Called in for lunch with my wife had chicken naga might not of been the best choice on the hottest day of the year but curry and a drink for £7.15 a good deal.
T. M.
Cheap as chips
Love there beef madras curry and good value
M. M.
Can't go wrong with the food at a Wetherspoons. Buttermilk Chicken Burger was perfection, and at a great price with a drink (around £5.10).
D. S.
Great food. Staff very friendly only thing that let it down was the state of the toilets. Damage to walls and floor not clean
S. F.
I had sirloin steak, which i asked for medium but it was served well done but the price including a drink is very good value. Service is also good woth bar staff very attentive
L. B.
Nice quick service, obliging staff . A nice pleasant experience.
d. h.
Nice place with plenty of space
H. t.
They do the pizza here and it's very nice, thin crust italian style(my preference),12 inches, under 6 quid, they are good here because I'm on a low carb diet(well apart from the rare treat) and they will do me a gluten free breakfast with a sausage to replace the beans,at no extra charge(it's not gluten I'm avoiding it's carbs),the breakfast is always very nice as well, only £3.19,good value
B. G.
Always a great place for any occasion. The only fault is that the menus are always dirty. Don't let it put you off though. Food is great.
D. E.
Good food with efficient service, tables a little sticky though!
d. b.
During our weekend break in Gloucester we visited the regal for food and few drinks,we had a great time it was extremely busy but service was spot on .great atmosphere so we thoroughly enjoyed the night out ,it was just around the corner from the new Inn of which I highly recommend to stay at ,
J. G.
This is where every night out in Gloucester should start - I've also never had a bad meal here. I can't get enough of their halloumi wraps and pitchers of Pimm's!
L. G.
Cheap beer.... Great
J. B.
It's not to bad really, enough people there but quite if that's what ur looking 4, toilets clean, bar staff really friendly too, I'd go again
G. S.
Good solid place for cheap food. Consistent quality. Poor cleanliness. The dirtiest carpets and loos I've ever seen in a Wetherspoons. It needs a good clean.
J. M.
It's a 50/50 chance you will get everything you ordered on your first attempt. They normally run of curry on curry night and steaks in steak night. Portions seem to keep getting smaller.
T. S.
Always worth a visit. Good price and food night relaxing place not your typical spoons with a 5 mile walk to the loos
J. J.
It's a Wetherspoon. You should know what to expect by now.
m. w.
Great service, food was very tasty and plenty of we had fish, chips, mushy peas and curry sauce. The toilets were lovely and clean, great atmosphere
A. P.
I was delivering near by but it looks OK.
P. D.
It's a Wetherspoons pub, so you know exactly what you're getting. Can be very busy on rugby match days. Best part is a huge King Kong fighting bi-planes in the original cinema balcony!
R. S.
It's what you would expect from Wetherspoons. Cheap food, cheap drinks, range of people from all walks of life.
Packs out on a Friday or Saturday night, easy to get a table any other time.
A. S.
Lovely looking place..... Just like any other wetherspoons food wise.... Cheep and cheerful
G. P.
It's what you expect a weatherspoons to be.
C. G.
lovely friendly staff. Nice safe outdoor dining and great food.
M. L.
Nice place to go to for dinner and a drink after a day out shopping before you go home.
k. h.
Standard wetherspoons pub. Toilets could do with an upgrade. Staff pleasant. No issues with food. Can always grab a table.
A. C.
Decor is dated but cheap drinks and alright food what you expect from spoons. Turns into dance floor on Friday and Saturday nights.
A. B.
Handy for a quick drink or meal before you catch your train
J. P.
Staff are great, good interactions and always very happy 😁 well done the management!
L. C.
Good food, nice beer, great coffee and amazing old fashion interior design gives you that unique experience.
J. W.
Typical Wetherspoons pub, spacious with wide windows at rear with outdoor seating. Five real ales on handpull and usual lagers. The standard Wetherspoons food menu.
n. b.
Beer was good food was quick fresh and great value but place was very dirty with tables not cleared of plates and glasses
L. L.
Fast service and food priced very reasonably, for a refuel with no frills
D. F.
Fab place
C. N.
You know what you’re gonna get with a Whetherspoons, straight forward, very well priced food and drink and the regal certainly delivers here. It’s a nice old (cinema) building too.
S. B.
Always a good spot to stop for a bite to eat. Friendly service and good food. Not to mention nicely priced, wont break the bank :-)
A. G.
Lovely food massive pub plenty of seats and TVs for sports, staff kind and courteous and food arrived on time and a load of drinks options with a massive bar.
J. Y.
For the price food was good definitely go back
R. P.
Haven't been here for ages, popped in with hubby for a soft drink, all good but could be a bit cleaner inside.
J. D.
Watch your step as you go in, in places it's level, at others there's a small step that sent me flying. Food and drink was good though, especially the villa Maria wine.
j. d.
Great food. Good service, nothing special. Quite a big place, so can get quite busy.
A. L.
We had such a star waitress who escalated our time at a pretty standard spoons to a 5 star. Thanks Catriona (Katrina?) - you’re a gem!
L. S.
Food was excellent. Only big bear no air con. It was so hot in there . It made me feel I'll.
M. N.
Food came out and was delicious also very friendly helpful staff and quick service which was great as it was so busy because it was a ruby match day highly recommend for a pub stop on a day out
A. W.
Great selection of Gin, shame they dont have the correct garnishes for the Gins. They have Halloumi Fries on the menu, can be a bit slow service when busy.
S. N.
Good food , good value and friendly staff
J. S.
It's OK the drinks are better than the food , as been bad unfortunately with the food
M.
A good night out, food is good, service can be very slow and some staff very rude but overall a pleasure to visit with majority of staff helpful.
R. S.
BIGGEST of Weatherspoons chain in Gloucestershire with impressive sun terrace and interesting interior. I had given a poor TripAdvisor earlier 2018 because of poor meal but that aside friendly staff and good manager. Handy position of King's Square for RDVs ...old Regal Cinema building
p.
Good food at great prices. Could do with a deep clean though as it looks a bit shabby now.
A. H.
A pint and a breakfast for just over £6 and only sat down for less than 5 mins and food ready. Lovely food and good value for money
P. H.
Great pub, great staff, breakfast is fantastic and good value
S. H.
Good atmosphere, wide variety of drinks and buy a coffee and then as many free refills as you want
J. M.
It has a lovely seating area our the back and great friendly staff
S. M.
Good place to eat. Food and service good. Very busy so difficult to find a clear
table.
P. W.
Good service, very friendly staff. Quiet and peaceful this morning. We all enjoyed our brekkie!
d. c.
Same as before the latest lock down
Poor service time but good ONCE they get there
J. H.
Good selection of food and drinks and friendly staff
B. H.
Large pub in the centre of Gloucester.Food is pretty good and very well priced.can get very busy but staff try to serve as quickly as possible .It is Everything you would expect from Weathers points pubs.
D. W.
Let's go into this pub atmosphere is good food is good and drink the access for mobility scooters to the rear is very restrictive and using the disabled toilet is very difficult
T. S.
No problems bar the temperature. Then again we were sat by the ac outlet.
Food ok, atmosphere good. Nice venue
C. H.
Large busy City pub

Typical Wetherspoons, large, bright, airy and buzzing atmosphere, great choice of cask, keg beers, lagers and ciders plus excellent choices of food, cheap and cheerful, get what you pay for, you can’t beat it.

If your having a breakfast just make sure you let them know how you like your eggs. Friendly decent staff. Its a Like from me!!

Always good cask beer, 4 stars because of the run down ambience and (usually) slow service.

Sticky floors and cheap food and drink, what a wetherspoons normally is! A resident DJ on the weekend is always a reason to go. Food is the same good quality as expected from a wetherspoons.

During the day a good place to get a drink and a chat but in the evening, especially on a weekend, it is very busy and sometimes you have to shout to be heard.

Great real drinkers pub with plenty of lively atmosphere, with friendly bar staff and great value meals.
