Reviews of The Crown Inn Dilwyn

On a hot summer ☀️ day you can chill out in the garden enjoying tasty ice cream 🍦 or well chilled pint.
Good pub to visit although we only came for few drinks and ice-cream so cannot comment on the meals. …

The burger was cooked to perfection, friendly staff and lovely quiet pub. Desert was presented beautifully, the fruit used was fresh and sweet. Overall a nice little place to have a relaxed afternoon and I'm leaving with a full stomach 😊 …
J. W.
Only popped in for a pint but very welcoming. Next visit will be for food I'm sure.
S. L.
Went he for lunch, never been before. Menu wasn't huge but we all found something nice to eat. Young lady running the bar was very friendly, 5 tables occupied, nice atmosphere. Will definitely be going there again.
L. C.
Excellent local pub. Great welcome and the staff were so accommodating. Food was great with a good selection. We will be back
J. R.
Very popular pub much loved by the locals. Great atmosphere and friendly. Nice garden behind and tables in front. Regular music; highly recommended
K. M.
Great home cooked food, super friendly staff, large gardens. Great choice of food
H. E.
Excellent food! Swift service, without being rushed. Nice atmosphere and lovely village setting. All that a traditional village pub should be. Some of these big chain companies could learn a thing or two.
Well done to all your team.
Sunday roast was amazing, as were the puds! (We were a table for 10, with Jill, Dave, Toby & Linda.) Thanks again! 👍👍👍
C. P.
Wonderful village pub set in lovely peaceful location.
We had a lovely meal here with a reasonable menu and good atmosphere.

Fabulous food, welcoming friendly staff and great clientele. Will definitely be back to sample a Sunday roast. 👍 …

Only popped in for quick drink on the way back home but it was a very nice place to visit

A lively evening with a 3 piece band, most enjoyable. We had food which was of very good quality.
The pub is not large but of reasonable size with 2 bars plus outside areas. It is also in good condition and clean. Didn't use the loo so cannot comment.
I'm happy to recommend this pub for all occasions or just for a drink.

A wonderful place to eat divine Italian food of superior quality. We were delighted to be able to sit outside under a huge marquee, feeling very safe, but protected in case it rained. Thoroughly enjoyed the amazing food and attentive service.

Great food and a lovely atmosphere. What more could you ask for. The serving staff were super

What a fabulous, archetypal, village pub this is. The staff were really friendly and helpful; the menu was not massive but very thoughtful. The food was exceptional. You should try it.

Def worth a visit

Nice outside seating area and social distancing measures are kept. Good customer service. Nice selection of beers and cider on tap. Had traditional pub grub for dinner, burgers and fish and chips, which were disappointing.
S. H.
The social distancing was excellent, the food was great and the atmosphere was very friendly. I had the bacon and brie ciabatta and my wife had fish and chips, both were excellent. My son wanted the whitebait starter as a main which they happily did for us, and as the portion size is large he was very satisfied. All in all we will go again.

This gorgeous village pub in Dilwyn is well worth a visit (and many more visits.) The food is absolutely amazing, cooked by the great Chef Max and on front of house is his Lovely partner Maria. As I am local it was natural I would come here but after many years of waiting for great leadership it has finally arrived. I brought my gran here who is an extremely fussy eater and she absolutely loved it and and has asked to come back several times (great achievement for someone who makes a complaint at every meal out)
Their takeaways are also fantastic which has been great during this recent lockdown. Maria and Max also have have amazing staff and the whole team has created a wonderful atmosphere. Everyone is welcomed with delight whether local or not.

Probably the best Sunday Roast in the area by far.

Solid country pub. Love it. Go. Support them. Good honest fair...pour a good pint and a decent Espresso Martini! 😁👍 …

Fantastic pub with wonderful owners and staff. Went here each day of our stay in the village. We ate here twice and the food was of great quality and very reasonable. The locals are very friendly and all were only too happy to engage in conversation.
S. R.
A nice place in a wonderful village with amazing people. The chef is a very good Italian cooker and prepare beautiful meals. If you stop here, taste the food with one of the very good beers, you'll just enjoy.
D. S.
Brilliant little pub, super friendly staff, cracking food by the actual Italian chef, and sensible Covid considerations. And even slightly better now they've had a lockdown spruce up, and the fires constantly roaring. You cannot go wrong!
A. H.
Lovely real pub . Old fashioned charm with pub and restaurant. Very friendly staff and locals. People dress up here to eat out. Has some accommodation. Set in lovely country spot. Quite small inside but cosy feeling. Not far from Bird of prey centre and Three Choirs Vineyards so could be a great day out in the area.
D. J.
Popped in for a quick lunch during a bike ride. Excellent food and service and Covid precautions. Tables outside front and back under marquees with staff taking orders for drink and food. Really friendly service. Thank you 👍😋 …
S. B.
Pleasant service, 2 Sunday lunches, 1 pint of Butty Bach and a diet Pepsi for £25.
Yes please.

Stopped here around teatime whilst on route to Shrewsbury from South Wales.. Situated in the middle of a quiet, picturesque village literally 2 minutes off the main route.. Nice food, prices were above average, the atmosphere was quite oldie worldie traditional country pub, with wood deco, furniture and the pub also had the woody musky ale smell... very pleasant, friendly landlady serving behind bar too.. would defo stop there if up that way again...
J. T.
Lovely pub full of olde worlde charm. Happened upon it by chance, after taking a diversion to avoid traffic on M5, bit of s long way round, but well worth it, just so that we could have a swift 1/2 on the way home🥰 …
D. E.
Visited today and had a lovely meal . I had roast beef and wife had tomato and asparagus soup with a salad the food was fantastic and the staff were very friendly and helpful , even had a dairy alternative for the wife's coffee , we will definitely be visiting again soon .
D. F.
Very friendly, good portions of decent pub food.

Veggie lasagne only veggie option. Long wait time for service and food was OK. Only 2 deserts available on a Saturday night. Disappointed after hearing good reviews.

I was here for the Leominster Morris Wassail and had a glimpse of an unfussy, unspoiled country pub with a very strong sense of community. The decor is perhaps a bit plain, even basic - it's not the most picturesque interior, there aren't lots of nik naks hanging from the wall - but that's probably as it should be, all the more genuine in a way. A decent local cider on tap (Robinson's Flagon) and a few decent looking real ales. There was a magical atmosphere on the night of the Wassail which felt like a million miles from city life and as a Londoner I was spellbound.
