A. D.Beef and Ale pie was bloody lovely! Everything was perfect and service was great too. Nice little pub.
A. J.Four of us enjoyed great meals here, after a sunny pint in the beer garden on Good Friday. The chef even suggested a vegetarian upgrade to my wife's salad which was a thoughtful touch. A dog friendly bar area meant we could bring the dogs too!
N. B.Went for a meal tonight with family. There were 10 of us and we had a fantastic time. The food was of a high quality and good size portions. We also had people with food allergies and the staff made sure that their food was safe.

Came here as two adults and two toddlers, they don't have a children's menu (as you might expect) but the kids did share a generous tasty pizza and basket of chips. While we opted for the fish and chips from the lunch menu, at two for £12. Next time I'd likely order from the main menu as the portion was a little small for me but suited my dad fine. Just over £30 for lunch and drinks for four, can't quibble.

L. S.Nice to see a proper local thriving. They offer nice drinks and incredible food at low prices. Every portion is huge (I recommend the steak and hob goblin pie), everything seems fresh cooked, curries come with home-made naans... all in all a lovely dining experience.
The pub is clean, of a decent size has a pool table, and a large smoking area. Staff are friendly, polite and remember the regulars (I'm remembered for always ordering the mixed grill and failing to finish it).

B. C.Lunch today using a birthday present Groupon voucher. The menu is extensive and the food is excellent. The lady behind the bar although rushed off her feet had everything under control. She was polite and friendly all the time we were there.

L. D.Lovely home cooked food at really great prices just a shame 2 of the meals arrived so much later than the 1st one meaning that one of the group had almost finished eating before the others had their food. We visited on a Thursday and stayed for the weekly quiz night which was good fun.

t. k.I had the Sunday roast which was a good size for the price. There could have been an improvement on a couple of items. But I enjoyed it all the same. The kids meal of chicken nuggets and chips was a good size portion. I would recommend a visit here.
C. J.Beautiful food but long wait. Went for Sunday lunch after hearing lots of positive things. Very cosy pub. Unfortunately the Sunday lunch menu is fully set without variation (i.e. we both ended up with the odd item we do not like on our plates for want of a choice). Portions are generous and great value for money. Good quality food and very fresh vegetables. Time between ordering food and actually getting served sadly took about an hour (even though the place wasn't particularly busy).

C.This lovely pub never disappoints, took my wife for a beautiful Valentines meal, my first time eating oysters, they were delicious and certainly won't be my last time, the food was exquisite all 5 courses, the Hosts and the staff were excellent as always, great food great staff great atmosphere, by far our most favourite place to eat and drink in the area. Well worth a visit you won't be disappointed

S. B.It's been a few years since I have visited this place, and was really surprised of how much better the pub was. The food menu looked alot better and the food was great too. Overall a nice atmosphere and worth visiting.

Such an interesting place to be. Top Notch. I would like to see Coke on offer, as well as Pepsi though.
L. W.Had an excellent afternoon tea and food was delicious. A a vegetarian I often worry about if going out for food but the vegetarian selection was amazing and nothing was too much trouble. Will definitely be recommending and returning.

H.We were there for a wake and although the food laid on was good and one of the bar staff was a lovely guy, the girl behind the bar was not very helpful and a bit surly,, I have been going in there for many years and have always really liked it so it won't change my mind about it but on that occasion they could have been a bit more accommodating
