Welcoming atmosphere, warm and friendly. Can tell the owner is passionate about the business- very talkative and attentive. All customers/regulars bring positive vibe to the establishment. Feel safe and comfortable enjoying my night here. 5*, would recommend to couples and small groups of friends

What a great little boozer with a wonderful choice of real ale, gin and even a wheat beer for me! Lovely helpful staff and the atmosphere is so warm making people feel at home. A really sociable old time pub vibe

What an excellent tiny bar. With room for an intimate few (can't imagine more than 15-20 people in there), this was a friendly bar, a great stop off on our way to the theatre. Barmaid chatty, as were the regulars. We were made to feel very welcome. Thank you.

I've been to this little pub a few times now and love it. Being a real cider fan I'm a big fan of this pub as it has a good selection of real ciders to try. Very welcoming staff and locals to chat to. Recommended to anyone looking for a unique friendly pub.
Firmly on my list of fave pubs in Hull.

Top place really quirky micro basement bar, I went in with my girlfriend and straight away made very welcome massive variety of drinks for such a small place, the locals chatted all night to both of us such a laugh and local knowledge as well about the city, would recommend the cheese platter as well super place

Small below street level bar. Good tap and bottle selection. No WiFi. Friendly service. Not cheap, about 1.90 a half pint.

Only just realised I haven't left a review of this. Tony runs a quite marvellous pub, a real community asset. Friendly, welcoming and has a range of decent beer. Bar snacks such as sausage rolls usually available and the cheeseboard is really lovely. Not the largest venue, but packed with character. An absolute delight.

Great little place, "Proper" small bar of a type that's fast disappearing in England. Good ambient atmosphere that incites sensible and logical conversation, a fast dying asset at far to many establishments.
Will certainly call again when in Hull.
B. M.

Absolutely tiny little pub but quirky and full of character. Fantastic selection of local ales, ciders and wines most of which I had never heard of and never knew existed. However, it was a most entertaining time sampling several and learning about them from the very knowledgeable host. Excellent choice of little known continental spirits too. Definitely visit again.

Cosy, friendly, just a lovely little place right in the city centre!
It's like walking into a friend's house, a friend who's turned his double living room into a local pub, and has a whole bunch of different beers for you to try .. and cake!
It was a really nice meeting place for us before a meal, but I'll definitely head back and spend a little more time there

This small venue in a basement is easily missable from the road but real ale drinkers need to pop in. Only 3 casks on with a few boxed ciders but the 5 stars is for the company in there as well. The ale was well kept, the host (Tony) was very friendly. As a non-local, it is so nice when hosts give a good welcome. The locals in there were also very friendly (northern folk deserve full credit). Will be in Hull every month so will definitely be popping in here. Thank you Tony.

(Translated) Happy happy hour nothing exceptional.
I took a negroni but had very little negroni.
Little taste and too much ice

Buon happy hour nulla di eccezionale.
Ho preso un negroni ma di negroni aveva ben poco.
Poco sapore e troppo ghiaccio
