N. S.Friendly service from beginning to the end and from all the staff including the manager. Family friendly place as we were 6 adults and a toddler. Decent lunch menu and we ordered omelette (£7.25) and cod fish cakes (£7.95). Big portion at reasonable price. Tasted great. Highly recommended on Newland Avenue.
J. K.We haven't been to Larkin's since before the Pandemic and it has always been one of the best places on Newland Ave and the good news is that it continues to be so.
The food is still top notch, with the bolognese burger that I had living up to their high standards set a few years ago. With our group having Pizzas, burgers, chilli garlic chicken, steak and vegetarian curry & salad, the variation of choice on offer is still very good and should appeal to everyone's tastebuds.
There is also a large variety alcoholic drinks, with many guest beers from indie brewers. The only complaint I have, and it one that I have with many restaurants, is the lack of diet, caffeine free drink options for people who are diabetic. If they could source more choice for non-drinking or soft drink loving customers, this would be a perfect.
Larkin's is a joy for those of us who love both drink and food. Vegetarian & vegans are well-covered also. With reasonable prices, lots of choice and a good atmosphere, Larkin's is still as good as ever.
P. F.We've been going to Larkin's since at least 11 years ago and it's a brilliant place - food is always good and reasonably priced, they have a great selection of beers and other drinks and staff are welcoming, friendly and helpful.
The outside area has been completely redone over the past few years with separate "sheds" for groups which have small heaters and comfy sofas undercover in the main area. They have also installed screens between tables inside to maintain some separation and account for Covid, but somehow this hasn't meant the inside feels cramped.
The pub is family friendly with high chairs to borrow for small ones, changing facility and disabled toilet downstairs.
V. I.Staff lovely plenty of seats indoors and outside food lovely steak pie nicest meat I've ever had but don't like the puff pastry top, would have been nicer still in a proper pie format .

A. B.Very reasonably priced for the amount of food you get! I was very impressed with the portion sizes. The burgers looked incredible and my wife had the pea and pesto risotto which was delicious. I had the fish and chips, but the batter on the fish was a little chewy (possibly could do with a higher temp in the fryer) I would also comment that where we were sat was a little dark! But overall, great value. We will be back.

D. S.Turned up on the spur of the moment. Table for 3 without booking and appeared to be a few available but was still busy. £13 for a starter and a main so very good value. Alpine burger is a tad unwieldy but tasted good and the people with me enjoyed their food too. Good selection of beer/ale but this isn't the type of place to serve Carling et al. Beer prices are on par for the area. There is outdoor seating but, strangely, a lot of this was given away for an outdoor Christmas tree shop... Overall it is a great place to eat but there is so many identikit places in the area that it doesn't feel special.

The food was delicious I had the chicken ham and blue cheese pie! Very filling and the sauce was amazing, lots of chicken and the extra sauce in a jug was a brilliant addition. We will definatley be returning. (Each table is separated by a screen and it felt really safe as well).
P. W.We went in quite late and had to order our food quickly. I had steak and Stilton sauce which came with chips, a mushroom and a tomato. The steak was cooked to my liking, I enjoyed it very much.

Only gripe was that we asked to be placed in a no smoking area outside but were next to a table that chain smoked all night leaving our clothes stinking. To be fair, this may be because the chap seating us said he would tey to get us a better table and perhaps didn't realise about the smoking areas. Still, it was only a minor thing and I can't fault the way staff treated us. Would not hesitate to return or recommend.

The layout is great, the staff are SUPER friendly and the service was quick. Plenty of options available too. Plenty of hand sanitiser available, without it feeling 'clinical'. A great environment which retains the upbeat nature with the 'hustle and bustle' of a good night out. Loved it!

m. w.Great food as usually. The pulled pork burger defeated me but i gave it my best shot. Sat outside in the private booths great for 6 people. Booked table as it was a saturday and was seated quickly. There are jo heaters but that didnt matter, i was told before hand so we could wrap up. Keep up the great work everyone. Good selection of drinks and ive never had a bad meal here. Always my go to when taking people out for a nice lunch.

M. N.The whole family went there Wednesday night lovely food all different types of foods. Huge portions. Staff very polite and friendly, couldn't do enough. Good ambience. Voices echo so it seems loud. There was ten of us and everyone was happy with their food. Would recommend it to friends. Good value for money.

Was gutted ehen they cut all those trees down and there always seems to be some noisy/samey music going on when i ealk past BUT it was nice and chilled when we were in. Food was decent and not too expensive. Interior is dine really well. Nice decor. Toilets miles away but disabled one downstairs.

T. T.Easily the best pub in Hull. It draws an eclectic crowd, who enjoy craft beer or just want prosecco. The beer garden comes courtesy of live local music, a canopy and a log burner.. a large indoor and outdoor space caters for the churn of friendly people on Newland avenue. Bohemian living meets urban shic in this wonderful watering hole. Overall a fantastic atmosphere and a great space to enjoy good company :)
