B. L.What a lovely welcoming pub with good food. My husband and I have twice visited The Royal Charter before visiting someone in the home opposite. We travel up from North London and it so nice to feel comfortable when walking into a pub where you are not a local
and even remembered from the last visit. Thank you So much
P.Just ok, food was average place was very quiet it was a week day lunch though. Had our food not once did anyone come over to do a check back on food. We had finished and our plates were still on the table 40 mins later. When lady came to collect our plates didn't say a word. Customer service is so important these days but unfortunately it didn't exist in the Royal Charter today:(
M. R.Quite a cosy, friendly pub. I felt quite comfortable even though I was a stranger. I was in the bar so can't comment on the food quality but I had a lovely pint of Mansfield smooth. Certainly not a pub to avoid

J. D.Spontaneously decided to take the family for a meal and drinks. Table service due to Covid restrictions but that wasn't a problem. We were not waiting long before our drink order was taken. Food was delicious and the young lady who served us was very polite and friendly and nothing was too much trouble. Great value and service. We will be back again soon.

We visited for lunch, staff were friendly and food was great, we appreciated there being a gluten-free option on the kids' menu for our daughter which she enjoyed. Never been here before but will be returning 👍

G. T.The pub itself is amazing the rustic design, and the atmosphere is very warm and welcoming. The staff was very friendly and polite and extremely helpful throughout these hard times. Although we did make a food order while the food was all warm and toasty, unfortunately it wasn't upto scratch as other pubs in the local area. Now it maybe because they can't get ahold of meats they could get before I don't know. But the beef patties in the burger tasted shabby. And the chicken burger wasn't as par as I thought it would be. If it wasn't for the atmosphere of the pub it would've been a lower rating.

The buffet they put on was brilliant and the place was laid out perfectly, would love to come back under different circumstances. Really nice place.

From the first contact with Mel I had confidence that she would deliver and she did. I received many compliments from family and friends about the buffet. P. C.Great family friendly pub. Good prices, and standard pub grub type menu, again at good prices. (the mixed grill is great value at less than £8). The staff are friendly, and theres a great outdoor area, with play facilities.

Only issue is I've been 3 times and twice the service was slow, waited a long time for our mains even though we ordered starters everyone seemed preoccupied so I had to ask for cutlery and mains to be prepared. C. D.Pretty good food, burgers are nice, fish tastes a bit like frozen prepacked food. Ordered a mixed grill which cost 13ish quid, not sure why, meat was lovely but not much for the money compared to other places.

The outside alfresco area is always immaculately clean and well tended.
With a Great Child Friendly area, From toddlers to teens, in full view
(so you can always keep that all important 'eye' on your children at all times).
A great time every time, we always come out knowing we won't go to any other place locally.
👍Well done Royal Charter for a 5***** Rating.👍 Just to put the proverbial icing on the cake we book all our main venues here, Parties, and Xmas / Boxing Day lunches.

k.Good place if you're under 30 just to have a pint or if you're over 30 a good place for a meal as the food is all freshly cooked and it's not too expensive either!
