R. S.Having recently moved from Manchester to Kirk Ella, this is one of our local pubs. It's a chain pub with a good selection of beers, spirits and wines at competitive prices. Chain pub food which is fine. We normally have nachos and other nibbles while there. Nice friendly staff, been in several times now and always felt safe, no signs of trouble. Go with grandchildren aged 5 years and 10 months and I am happy to take them there.
R. H.Really friendly staff. Good value meal which was really tasty. We really enjoyed it. I had the surf and turf, it was exceptional, much better than the usual you would expect. The prawns were so fresh.

Seemed as though 1/4 of the menu wasn't available, and there seemed to be just one lad serving all the food, however he was very efficient and friendly.
Food was good, service was good, ordering through the app wasn't.
K. K.Nice pub, very nice food, drinks at a reasonable price and a small disco area on a Saturday for a bit of a boogie with friends, lovers or relatives. Positively, I'd only been in the establishment for two minutes and the friend of a lady unbeknown to me informed me how devilishly attractive her friend found me, this sort of thing never happens to this roving reviewer. However, hearts had to be broken and dreams of a bright future lost as I informed her of my relationship situation.... but I digress! A great night was had by all, even my friends who, seemed to have turned into little old men loitering around the same table all night moaning about the price of energy and what twiddle twaddle electric cars are! However The Beech Tree is the sort of place you can do this and all can still have a very pleasant evening. Therefore upon this visit The Beech Tree gets a gleaming 5 stars.
R. B.The menu is good. The place is understaffed and it took over 3/4 hour to get starters out. We were not advised of the delay. Cutlery for our party arrived in an untidy heap. A diabetic in our party started to hypo because of the long wait so I got bread and butter brought to table urgently. Two slices cost the same as a full bread loaf. My pasta carbonara arrived having turned to cardboard under the hot lights so I ended up with a replacement eating on my own. I will say the young man who was waiting to table was brilliant at his job and handled the situation well.

T. S.Had a lovely afternoon here yesterday meeting up with old friends we haven't seen due to lockdowns and international travel restrictions. The staff were great. Couldn't have done enough to help and the chef did himself proud considering they didn't realise we would be eating and there were 15 of us!

b. r.During these strange pandemic times we have got used to booking a table, but now, with no eat out to help out offers this requirement was not needed. But we had booked a table some people behind us hadn't and were able to sit where they wanted. And that was a surprise, the place was surprisingly busy for a Wednesday lunchtime. We ordered a 2 course meal, 1 and 3 courses also an option, and a sign of the times social distancing was observed when ordering meals and drinks. We were not waiting long for our meals considering how busy the place was, and when it came we had no complaints. The whole process of ordering the meal, the service provided, the ambience of the place in these trying times, could not be faulted. Well done The Beech Tree, how long this attempt at reopening places will last I have no idea, this opportunity was eat out was a pleasure that cannot be taken for granted in the future.

S. C.The Beech Tree offers a pleasant environment for socialising. Plenty of room both indoors and out. Decent choice of alcoholic beverages. I only gave 4 stars as my fish and chip meal wasn't the best I have had for the price. (Based on other similar local offerings). But don't let that put you off, the other meals looked good.
R.Visited this pub a number of times over the last 6 months as it's not far from where I live. Food is excellent and offers a good variety and the drinks aren't badly priced.
A Friday and Saturday night is usually rather busy but the atmosphere is good and I've never seen any trouble.
The pub has a large car park and the staff are always friendly and polite.

One man said to me 'oh glad you are leaving! ' and the women on there table we also rude! Just because our little girl was playing and having fun! For that reason I don't think we will be returning!

It was surprising good. The Salmon Salad was very good, well cooked salmon, tasty well seasoned unfussy salad - very nice - my friends had fish and chips all very good. Needed more help though - one waitress and one overworked server at the bar - it was busy and they were run off their feet. But I recommend it and return.

R.Ok for a drink. Got a pie that had no more than 2 small pieces of steak in, the rest was gravy. Would've complained but the person that took my plate didn't care to ask how the food was, not did anyone else for the duration of the meal.

Nestled between kirkella and Anlaby, it resides in an affluent neighbourhood, and, especially on Friday and Saturday night, it is awash with teachers, retired and otherwise, young professionals, 40 + couples and groups of well presented, well preserved ladies, as well as the occasional large family gathering. It is a large, yet cozy gastropub, with a pleasingly random collection of art, kickbacks, and a big, coal effect gas fire, open on both sides, which brings a magnificent warmth to those long dark autumnal evenings. The food is excellent quality, a small dessert menu, yet with enough naughty food to make even the toughest diabetic quake in Their boots. In point of fact I had to take Insulin after just looking at the menu. There are the usual attractions, quiz nights, carveries, discounts, cocktails 2 for one. It is part of a. Ember Inns chain, but has a unique flavour, which does it credit. One caveat, for those wanting a quiet rendesvous, stay away from the weekend evenings, when it's best to book a table, even for just 2. Very popular, all round excellent value for money, please pop by, but do book if it's an evening around the weekend. Do It.
