M. C.Very nice local pub, not a chain. Unusual and retro decor. Mainly pies ( appear to be home made ) with a large range of fillings including vegetarian, gluten free and vegan choices on the menu but a reasonable selection of other items. Good atmosphere and fairly busy, a good sign in a local when there is plenty of competition in Old Town area.

G. B.Lovely pub serving lots of different ales and ciders. Ordered the pie with chips it was ok didn’t get a lot and was quite expensive. I had difficulty cutting the pie as it was quite hard maybe Sharper cutlery would have helped.

s. g.Dennis the landlord is mine excellent host and his beer is most well kept. Add in a superb pub dog in Toby plus a first class clientele and you are assured a good evening and/or day. Can't comment on the food but the Gannets seemed happy with what they were putting away.

j. f.Ist time visit. I really like this pub. It's cosy, barstaff pleasant, quirky decor, with various timepieces hanging from the beams (!) and an otherwise nautical theme. You can try the guest beer before purchasing a pint, and say hello to the pub dog.

l. c.Called in here for tea. Such a friendly pub. The staff were very welcoming and helpful. The food was superb. I had a Ceaser salad which was one of the best I’ve had in a long time. We sat outside and enjoyed the quiet atmosphere.

Overall opinion is that there is Room for improvement but food reasonable and drinks a reasonable price
P. M.Paid £9.80 for 2 pints Carlsberg. Vastly overpriced especially for run of the mill lager. Because of this, we won't be returning. Don't mind paying slightly more but object to being ripped off.

Stopped in for lunch on a day trip to Hull and wasn't disappointed. Quirky decor, several ales and decent enough bar menu. The chips were amazing and the staff were very friendly. The chef came out and chatted to us and we were very happy with this place.

Asked for a meal with substantial changes due to dietary needs and the chef was most helpful . prepared my meal EXACTLY as I had asked for it. It was absolutely delicious and extremely good value. M. x.Great looking pub , atmosphere , and drinks but vegetarian dish I ordered looks like the one you can by in asda at ready meals section. Is that not supposed to be cooked from scratch? If i wanted to eat frozen ready meal from microwave ,with are not to nice in taste I would do it at home , and not for 10 pounds . If your cook need to do vegetarian dishes he should try Hitchcock down the street to see how's done. So do it properly or take it of the menu. Never gonna eat there for sure.

C.Chilled out old school pub in a good location to start or finish an old town pub crawl. Large choice of beers & spirits. The only pub in this area of the old town with a jukebox which makes it a favourite for me. Oh and the scotch eggs are amazing.

B.Called in for a quick pint with the family after a exhausting day looking round Hull's Museums, The pub is set back from the street and is surprisingly small but very cosy we did not eat but it looked very popular for people ordering food from what we saw the food looked amazing especially the burger and pie, The young lady behind the bar was very polite and helped my partner choose one of the speciality ciders they had on tap which she loved don't remember the name but it was Rhubarb Cider... Next time we visit Hull we will be back to sample the food.
