Reviews of The Three John Scotts - JD Wetherspoon

Very, very crowded and noisy a real drinkers pub rather than a place you'd want to eat in.The beer was cold thou and I got to tick another Wetherspoons of my list but it won't be one I'll return too.
D. C.
Can often be VERY busy and for good reason. The tables out the back are in a bit of a sun trap and they have gazebos up for shade. The bar is clean and they have some great and unusual beers on. Overall it's a very pleasant place. Food is typical weatherspoons value. Nothing great but it does the job :)
J. B.
Cheep and cheerful. Great Atmosphere. Nice Staff. Good Food and good deals. I had the Delhi deal. Halloumi Wrap with an alcoholic drinks for £6. Can't complain.
K. R.
An average spoons, food was ok, baked beans and hash brown were a little tasteless but everything else about my English breakfast was nice
T. S.
Great pub, we had a meal, everything was spot on. We took our grandson and there was a colouring in sheet and crayons available, he loved it. Beer festival on as well, nice ales. Dont think you can go wrong in a Whetherspoons.
S. L. (.
Great for a couple of drinks, loads of seating areas. Nice large beer garden. Beautiful building which use to be the post office. Staff friendly and kept themselves busy.
H.
A nice location, being inside of an old post office building. They even have a beer garden at the back that allows for more tables, should the weather cooperate. Staff is quick and efficient. Only small hitch really is that if you order your spirits straight, they give it to you in a cheap-feeling shot glass. The other spoons further into town (Admiral of the Humber) serves them in a lowball glass, which is a better presentation.
J. N.
Staff great place clean nice atmosphere. Veggie sausage need sorting on the breakfast. Couldnt even get fork through or knife to cut them. Had 3 veggie breakfast in 3 different wetherspoons and all been like this. These sausages need to be cooked fresh as dont keep well in warmer or change to a veggie sausage that does keep.
C. T.
For a "ultimate " breakfast i was not impressed with the portions. The toast was burnt on 1 side, the eggs were too well done but apart from that it was ok
J. d.
Large old post office building, very spacious with plenty of standing room and seating. Vast range of drinks at very reasonable prices. Didn't eat but there were plenty of happy looking diners and although the menu looked quite usual for this chain, it seemed very popular.
J. H.
It's actually good food at a great price. Close to a car park that's free after 6pm. Wife & I had steak club (all clubs run every day now lol) medium rare, with shroom, peas, chips and half a Tom. For the price with drink, 11 quid each is good value. Plate was hot too
H. W.
Had a lovely breakfast here. Was quiet as it was Monday morning. Lovely food that came really quickly. Was hot and well cooked. . Pub was clean and well kept
L. M.
Food was lovely. Ordered a non-alcoholic drink and was asked to show I.D. I get it's part of the job but non alcoholic beer and I'm getting asked for I.D? Hoping to get my refund soon. Will be going to the other spoons from now on.
T. M.
Nice pub, friendly with a quick service.
A pretty large pub with lots of seating and wasn't too busy when I visited.
The Cask Marque QR code was behind the coffee machines but accessable.
The toilets are downstairs.
The beer was good and reasonably priced.
R. K.
We had a lovely breakfast with cup of fresh coffee. Nice atmosphere, spacious and clean. Staff very nice and helpful
M. I.
Breakfast at the spoons. It is what it is reasonable quality for cheap prices. So can't complain, feel I will a little bit. The bacon is incredibly thin.
P. W.
Nipped in while visiting the Museams Quarter. A lovely big old building (as is usual with spoons). Big and spacious inside with a lovely beer garden outside. Usual standard good spoons fayre. Doesn't shout out at you from the outside so you may miss it
S. W.
fine for reasonably priced drinks and food and great for breakfast - it's a Wethers so does what it says on the tin!
D. R. W.
Dropped my wife and daughter off at
The Three John's and didn't see them again till 6am.hic
Good night 😴 was had. By all.
K. T.
Best prices in town, good beer and well organised bar staff. Food looks good too.
H. H.
Great breakfasts will try dinner next time, fast service
J. B.
Its literally a spoons, we all know what they're like, and they gave me a decent amount of chips for those that count. Carpet wasn't too bad either for a spoons
K. M.
Outstanding!! friendly staff with a smile sprinkled with lovely cocktails 🥃🍸🍹 defiantly worth a visit... thank you ❤
S. W.
Nice Wetherspoons inside and outside eating and drinking. Nice courtyard patio area.
C. H.
We are spoons fans .you can go wrong the price you pay for food and drink. Staff at Three John Scott's very friendly good service 👍
K. H.
I lost my bank card here and someone had kindly handed it in. Very friendly place, lovely people.
A. B.
Good food, good service, cheap drinks. What more could you want
A. M.
Spacious pub in the old post office building. Toilets is in the basement where the safes used to be so I'm told by a regular.
R. C.
Great beer garden and a wide range of beers all at fantastic prices. Beer was really nice.
J. B.
Hubby likes the big breakfast good value and tasty too he never leaves anything haha. Service quick via app. Staff very tentative.
J. K.
Very friendly staff the beer is very reasonably priced and the food is excellent highly recommend it
K. B.
Hate to like the place. Good food, served quick, and easily affordable!
A. H.
Staff very attentive and courteous. We ate and were impressed by the Manager's Specials. Tables were cleaned repeatedly and the ambience nice Door Staff were pleasent and helpful. I will certainly return.

J. S.
Nice pub, typical wetherspoons. Disabled access into the pub could be a bit clearer, but otherwise, had a pleasant pub with friendly staff.
C. C.
Food is amazing and very cheap drinks staff are amazing thanks you
R. C.
Very friendly staff good food
Good atmosphere good menu always happy to visit good value for money
D. H.
I love going in that pub great food and drinks 🍸 and the staff are very friendly 👌
t. s.
Huge 'spoons, fish and chips were really bloody good, a couple of lovely porter/stouts on. Also t he chicken nuggets were delicious
C.
Good atmosphere
Food was ok
Took quite long to arrive 30-40 mins
h. S.
Always a great experience with great price food and drinks. The environment is great.
R. S.
A very elegant and impressive building, the former Post Office establishment in Hull. Named after 3 vicars of the same name who served in the church across the way.
It has a very historical background and this is illustrated on the story boards in the Wetherspoons itself - go and read them when you visit.
It's a long building with a beer garden as well.
The toilets were downstairs for a change! Ladies were clean and tidy.
Staff pleasant and friendly and the service good. Local beers available and a good selection of wines too. Food served quickly and staff checked to see that everything was all right - which it was.
We'll visit again when next in Hull.
M. D.
Very nice indeed. Our second time we have been there for a breakfast.
G. F.
Gluten-free menu used to be a lot larger but has reduced, like many places, since the beginning of the pandemic. However staff are knowledgeable about what is safe and there is little risk of cross-contamination.
Y. F.
Good food at a decent price...down side its a bit out of the way
G. S.
Dropped in while my car was in for Mot. Unlimited coffee for £1.20. Amazing
D. S.
Another Wetherspoons pub in a lovely old building. Cheap grub and craft beers. Free WiFi. The burger was a bit too dry for me. The coffee deal is great. 1.25 for unlimited coffee. You pay 1.25 and get a mug, you then go to the coffee machine and refill as often as you like. Good selection of cheap craft beers
A. F.
Had Eggs Benedict there. Somehow it was like warm. Tasted ok though
D. F.
Nice beer and the food was very good....
Overall great value for money and I would highly recommend
J. E.
Had breakfast here while going to The Deep for the day. Friendly staff, good food and quick service.
k. a.
It's ok as meeting place ,& u can get cheap beer
V. F.
Took my daughter for her 21st birthday meal. Really good evening fast professional staff very polite and friendly. Did all the ID requests. Fabulous meal.
D. C.
Went in for breakfast Sunday morning before going to The Deep. Would have given them 5 stars, but forgot one of the 5 breakfast ordered. Housed in a lovely build with loads of history. Worth a visit just for the history of the building
G. S.
Good selection of beers etc and great prices...a couple of the party had food and found it very enjoyable. Staff friendly and helpful. Long walk to the loo...lol
S. G.
Wandered into this 'spoons' when passing on the way back from visiting the local museums. The place made for a welcome shelter as the good old Yorkshire weather had taken a turn for the worse.
Presumably another ex-bank, so a large interior with plenty of places to sit.
We took our 3 children with us, we all wanted food and drinks, which we ordered on the app whilst sat at our chosen table. Food arrived within 10 minutes and was provided by friendly staff. We enjoyed it so much we ordered dessert too!
k. b. b.
Enjoyed a good evening. Good food of excellent value and beer only 99p a pint
P. M.
Nice pub but the table service at times, leaves a bit to be desired. Hardly anyone in pub one day but our beer was left on the bar & had to collect it but was told they were just going to deliver it. This has happened a few times. Also some parents let their children run around screaming.
I. D.
It's a lovely establishment lovely atmosphere great staff. Highly recommend it for a quiet time.
C.
Same as with all wetherspoons good pub but the food app is horrible and doesn't really work well
C. A.
Great in here plus got good sized beer garden
k.
Always a good experience here. Food's fast and good and service is great
E. D.
My first time in The Three John Scott's in Hull, the staff lovely and food so yummy had a great night there
M. L.
My grandson took me for lunch was really nice.
K. I.
Very nice place with nice range of bear's, good food, very nice bear garden and friendly staff!!
P. C.
Typical Wetherspoons, Good beer, decent pub grub, all at good prices. Does get very busy across lunchtime.
Guest beers improving after the whole covid thing, more on offer now, and the changes to some of the draft beers and ciders are very welcome too.
J. S.
Good selection of beers on tap more than anywhere I've been in a while
P. D.
Good city centre Wetherspoons pub, set in an impressive an historic old building. The pub is comfortable and decent. Good vibe and it's cheap. What's not to like?
T. S.
A good selection of beers on sale here. Food is average, staff are accommodating. Apparently there hasn't been a fight here since 1999.
A. M.
Another great wetherspoons pub. Just visiting Hull on a rainy day and popped in for a meal. We were not disappointed. The quality at the price was excellent and the extra bonus of very pleasant, helpful staff made a cold wet day better. Thank you Wetherspoons.
C. S.
Didn't look busy but had to wait 10 min for them to catch up with orders, we were told it was to clean some tables but we could see lots empty and set, whereas the bar atea was lined up with drinks orders, think and extra pair of hands would have been welcome. The service was excellent once we got seated tho.
S. T.
Typical weather spoon, food was good.quite a long wait but in our case that didn't matter. Staff were freindly and efficient. Clientele very noisy and quite boisterous which seems to be the norm.
S. D.
Good food at a good price. Nice atmosphere.
G. M.
Nice staff and great prices. Not too busy .
D. H.
Nice size public house. Staff were friendly and polite. Drinks usual Wetherspoons prices etc. Sat outside in the Sun in the beergarden. Was enjoyable and will do it again soon .
S. B.
Typical wetherspoons great offers fast service sat in far left corner both with view of garden nice
P. R.
Cheap and cheerful good food cheap rounds big pub plenty of seating another good place to meet to start a night out.
n.
Been here a few times.
Good quality food and the service is in a good,
Food arrived in good time when ordered on the app.
Overall a good pub for food and drinks.
M. T.
Typical Wetherspoons pub, reasonably beer in reasonably surroundings at a good price
S. D.
Lovely food/drinks great prices too 👍🏼
M. H.
Busier than your average Wetherspoons when I visited which made service very slow, but the staff acknowledged this and were really trying hard.
There was a decent choice of cask and the usual Wetherspoons keg options.
The building itself is a grand, imposing old edifice and really impresses.
I. W.
👍
J. C.
Always very busy. Staff friendly. Great place to start off before heading on a pub crawl
M. R.
We love a nice brisk walk to Three John's on a Sunday morning where we can have a quality beer and coffee at fabulous prices But best of all is the quiet ambience of the place ideal for a proper chat I've had to drop a star because they've stopped selling John smiiths a bad decision Tim. I for one very rarely frequentl the place any more
j. a.
One of the better Spoons I have visited and certainly better than The Admiral of the Humber.
A. N.
Great service, reasonable prices
D. S.
Great service and staff were helpfull and polite. 😁
k. w.
Good fast service meals are priced fairly and very good
D. W.
Had a traditional breakfast and coffee for less than a fiver set me up for the day ahead 😀
S. T.
The service was good but all the tables were sticky inside and hadn't been cleaned so had to go sit outside. We had gone to about 4 different tables and all were the same. However the food and drink is always nice and the service.
t. c.
Agreat afternoon in the beer garden with great atmosphere
J. J.
We all enjoyed our breakfast we didn't have to wait very long and it was lovely and hot which is what you want
G. B.
Even though busy, we were served drinks and food (ordered on the app) within 10 minutes. Drinks arrived after a few minutes. The food was great and was fantastic value.
T. D.
Good food and drinks
K. P.
Nice place to go and have a nice quiet meal and a drink
S. S.
Albeit we visited on a weekend, but this ‘Spoon is very relaxed. An older style character property in the Old Town with a good team working the bar.
L. H.
The food is always better and warmer than the other wetherspoons pub
J. T.
Food OK, order on app, furniture in need of sprucing up, food a good price and good sized plate, drinks very reasonable. Staff friendly, everything bought to your table.
A. S.
Very busy but decent outdoor seating, could do with some heating!
J. R.
Real nice place a bit nosie at first but first great company to be with
J. H.
Food was piping hot and didn't have to wait long. Great service. 1st time I've been in. Will use it again.
M. S.
Easy atmosphere and outdoor seating area.
D. G.
Great choice of beer and food in a great location. Good prices too. Cannot be faulted!
Z. H.
Good food and good prices set....always good for events for a meal or a snack. And prices overall reasonable ....and good place as a starting point x
P. S.
Really comfortable enjoyable afternoon in this bar. Very good value for money! We ordered 3 main meals and 3 alcoholic drinks and it only came to £21 and this included doubling up one of the burgers. Can't be beaten on price, and the good really was very enjoyable. Service was good, with a very extensive range of ales and other beverages. They also have wheel chair access round the side once you ask at the bar.
d. c.
Visit here regularly and always enjoy it. Lovely staff, good table service. Great place for food and child friendly . As always will pop back again.
R. S.
Its a nice Pub near the old town to go for a drink after shopping and easier to get our taxi home from
L. M.
Great food for the price, cheap drinks too
s. C.
Usual what u expect from a spoons, there is another one closer to the busier part of town
N. P.
Great place.staff BRILLIANT and friendly.Food spot ON..RECOMMENDED
s. b.
Food good staff friendly nice atmosphere
A. B.
Typical weather spoons except for great staff. Will go again
N. C.
What you'd expect from a Weatherspoons, nice relaxed atmosphere, clean, good value, nice food and with there app it's easy to order your food and drink at your table to save queuing. My disappointment is that when ordering mixed grills through the app there is no option to select how you like it cooking, and when asking at the bar I was told that you don't get to choose because it just all goes on the grill together. It wouldn't take much to hold the steak back a little.
K. S.
Always a great place with friendly staff
J. F.
Absolutely beautiful food. Lovely staff, could not do enough for you. There was 11 of us including children all meals came relatively at the same time, all hot. The burgers are fabulous great price and you get a pint with it. Highly recommend.
K. K.
Good fast table service. I personally am a standy up man, my wife was sat and I was simply leaning on my own stool (outside) but it was demanded I sat down. Quite bizarre to say we were in the smoking area, by ourselves and it was my stool 🙄
S. M.
Good pub Good food Good reasonable price
N.
Only really experienced this place on a night out. It's usually the place to start for a drink. The wait in the queue for the bar means there's time to warm up from the cold outside. There's lots of room to stand and there's seating areas beyond the bar area. Good cocktails and the staff serve you as quickly as they can when its busy.
B. P.
Great place for cheap pre drinks
S. W.
Having booked a function was surprised on the day that no one knew anything about it. Despite this the duty manager found space for us to hold our function and everyone had a great day.
Lovely place and very friendly staff with great food.
Hope to return again soon
A. S.
Good atmosphere and friendly staff. Not bad on your pocket either
k. W.
Wow no wonder there popular, bit bossy the main bar lady shouting where to que, but hey ho the beer is really cheap. 👌 great atmosphere :)
P. M.
Been here a few times now, for either drinks or food and drinks depending on the occassion. Last time we came it was for food and drinks. Drinks are great food was slightly cooler than it should have been. we had mixed grills and the lamb wasn't hot, not a big issue but should have been hot in the first place. Anyway it hasn't stopped us deciding to come again in 2 weeks time and hopefully this time round food will be top notch
J. M.
Had a nice meal with the family, no issues with the visit. Made the order via the app rather than at the bar, which worked better than expected. You just don't have an ETA on the order.
J. M.
Gets busy in here, as do many other Wetherspoons pubs, but staff are pretty friendly, and food is good. Sometimes they offer daily specials, which are really good value. Nice large beer garden at the rear. Good choice of ales.
H. M.
The food was wonderful and a great price. There hot chocolate was so good , I had to get another one. My one gripe was in the ladies toilets not one of the stalls had toilet tissue in them. And hardly any hand soap. This is why I only gave then 4 stars.
R. M.
Lovely place to stay, on the cinder trail and very close to Cleveland way, so walking, cycling perfect, also close to Robin Hoods Bay, this place itself is great, all very clean and staff very helpful
J. J.
Service was a bit slower than usual(we used the app) but waitress apologised when she brought our drinks apart from that things wer good
R. S.
great place to meet old friends with cheap prices
R. D.
Solid Wetherspoons and not so busy as the Admiral.
A. S.
The service at the bar was slow and unfriendly. The food and drink was excellent and great value . The gents toilets were a disgrace. One loo seat off, one door with no lock and the other with paper and water all over. Do the staff not check these and is there no maintenance programme? Disappointed.
m. a.
Perfect pub. Food was great
D.
Nice friendly staff good food
A. C.
A typical Witherspoon's pub good prices, no overly loud music so you can go and have a chat ond some good quality beer without having to shout at each other. They do good food at reasonable prices as well.
E. T.
A decent breakfast. We came on a day when the delivery was running late so they had no avocado or black pudding. Will come back quite happily though as the food I did have was delicious.
P. H.
Bar staff were brilliant shame the meals weren't my pastrami was lovely fresh and plenty the chips were awful cold and old.
The chicken in the curry was hard the nan was good but the poperdums were dripping with grease so bad had to ask for extra serviettes to mop up the oil The toilets were not very nice and had not been checked one toilet was unusable. dirty. 3 toilets had locks that didn't work no toilet tissue no soap in dispensers so a disappointing visit
H. S.
I've only visited here the once but I was the busiest pub I've been in! This was around 8-9pm and got quieter from there. They were advertising Mulled cider by the bar, but didn't actually have any to sell as the offer hadn't started. Why advertise then? Only had drinks, I haven't tried the food.
m. b.
Very good will be going back food very good very hot
S. E.
Even though there are restrictions in place, it is still a nice friendly place to enjoy a drink with friends.
I enjoyed it more because you could only be seated at a table and with it not being crowded made for better conversations.
R. G.
The food was nice apart from the eggs, wasn't cooked, slimy. Waiting time was good.
S. H.
Long time prices wonderful amsthere great
A. S.
Great service and good choice of beers and food. You can order from your phone on bar always prompt service.
Very good ambience and feel to the pub set in the Old Town of Hull.
R. F.
The place isn't as bad as some Wetherspoons and the food was good but there was some confusion over drinks, I'd asked for G&T with the meal as per the offer and was given a dearer once and charged extra. When I brought this up I was made to feel like I was trying to cheat them some how. I returned the drinks as they asked and they did eventually refund me, but their customer service leads a lot to be desired. I know some might have just accepted it but it came to almost £10 for the 2 drinks. My mum and I don't eat out often, and use places like this because cost is a consideration, so the £10 was a big deal to us.
H. E.
Spacious and well presented pub. Traditional pub menu, the food was delicious, drinks were cheap. We arrived as a party of 7 without booking, all of us ordered food and it arrived quickly.
M. N.
Fantastic building, loads of room, food as reliable as ever, beer amazing value. Don't know how they do it.
C. F.
Had a lovely meal great service felt safe and comfortable.
F. F.
Scarlet and Fatlad met up for a couple of swift ones before heading off to Hitchcocks for a fabulous meal.
C. D.
Service is quick, prices are great. Steak night is on a Tuesday, curry club on Thursday, fish and chips on Friday and Sunday brunch - all get you some meals cheaper.
S. 1.
Nice pint and very good price.
K. “. H.
Good food, though couldn't get the hang of their app, for ordering food, must be getting Old. Food quality was a 9/10 nice and hot on arrival.
One comment, perhaps there could be a bit more choice on the Menu!
K. G.
Went there today with s friend. Friendly fast service, good food at reasonable price. Was a busy popular pub
k. G.
Good pub lovely building and great staff. 5 stars for pub. Though food would rate 1 star as the chilli was chilli literally cold not even heated last time we came but a great place for drinks.
P. D.
Poor service, dirty tables and little social distancing but all fairly standard for a spoons at the moment. Food was good once it eventually came and for the price can't go wrong
P. B.
Good Leatheredspoons, food was quick and ok. It's usually very crowded though
J. B.
Due to covid app service only, drinks arrived within 5 minutes, small plate selections arrived shortly after, baked potato arrived 40 minutes after ordering, no apology, great pub but no integrity from management to admit they made a mistake.
D. R.
We had a fabulous experience here. Wonderful staff who could not do enough for us x thank you so much.
N. H.
Nice staff and great prices. You don't feel ripped off at all. Will visit regular.
B. R.
Very busy... standard wetherspoons experience..
C. J.
A lovely restored building in a good location. We ate here twice during our visit to Hull. Excellent and attentive staff when the pub was busy. Ordered and paid using the Wetherspoon App......just amazing. No queuing and food and drinks brought to your table.
K. S.
The beer garden has been extended and far better. The bread buns with the burger are still disgusting however.Like eating papermache.
R. P.
Food nice, and a nice pint of worthy
t. r.
Good meeting place good food
N. P.
Cheap and cheerful as with all Wetherspoon's pubs. The food was terrific, nicely kept ales, friendly staff... Sadly, spoilt by a large proportion of the clientele, however, who looked as though they were missing Yates' Wine Lodge, a bath, a dog on a string... Sounds harsh, but if you go out for a family Sunday lunch it's a tad daunting.
G. V.
Massive beer garden. Use the app for best service. Good food. Would recommend.
S. B.
Great steak dinners again tonight and excellent service - Thank You!
Shame that puddings were not great nor cheap. Even at 2 for £5 they really weren't good value but obviously a H.O. buying issue!
R. H.
Delicious food at great value, extremely friendly and fast service. As for the Eye Candy serving drinks behind the bar, I'll happily share my Godfather with you anytime. 😉👌🍻
L. P.
Busy pub. Lots of hard working staff. Huge list of flavoured gins! All drinks are so cheap compared to anywhere else. Food is great too!.
H. N.
Nice place, nice food and prompt polite service
J. T.
Good priced drinks
P. H.
Went in this place today for a few drinks, and used the new app to offer our drinks, which according to the manager, we should receive them within 5 minutes no matter how busy they are! After waiting for 25 minutes, I decided to cancel and get a refund. Not a great service.
S. S.
Best place to eat and socialise
K. H.
Quick visit at lunchtime, used the Weatherspoon's app to order. Quick table service of my drink, closely followed by a lovely pizza. All good.
L. S.
Great Wetherspoons that supports local breweries. Decent pub grub as long as you don't expect gastro pub style home made meals. It is what it is. Personally I avoid Saturday nights because it can get very busy, but if you like crowds on a Saturday this is a good place for groups to meet.
S. B.
Weatherspoons pub in a very attractive and historic building in the old town of Hull. I had the breakfast there and it was excellent given the price, never ending coffee is a bonus as well. It was an outdoor area to smoke, vape also. A downside is the steep set of steps you need to climb to get into the building. If you're able bodied, these won't be a problem but if you an issue with stairs, be aware.
C. M.
Well, decent Weatherspoons fare in Hull. Big place, the old Post Office, all the usual traits. Very cheap drinks and food, not enough staff to go around. What there are were very good however. Had a curry, Lamb Rogan Josh. Excellent, surprisingly. Jalfrezi also very good indeed. Gets very busy, would advise arriving early when you can. Very decent though! Recommended. Worth the fourth star just down to quality to value ratio.
C. D.
Great meeting place for your night out or day of shopping. Its a Wetherspoons so as expected. Great drinks selection and even better prices. I've not eaten here so cannot comment on the food. But as I say it's Wetherspoons.
j. s.
Large breakfast & i had the veggie breakfast both looked great. Was good until i tried to cut through my quorn sausage, it was so tough couldn't get knife through it!! 🤔
J. B.
Tired Wetherspoon establishment - not helped by the weird layout. Could do with new carpets and refreshed artwork even. Meals were very quick to arrive. Standard beer selection with a crowded bar.
O. C.
A fleeting visit for a quick pint. The Doombar was on point ... Nice building too ...
T. G.
Great food good prices
R. F.
Yeah, well I love it, the staff are great, not keen on the tall tables and chairs, but then I'm only five foot 2inch "n" a peanut tall, so hey, there you go, I walk in three John's and it's like, "where's Gulliver travels",
T. F.
looking a bit tired but well kept beers an friendly staff make up for it
i. s.
The service has really improved.Great service thank you.Served quick and staff are really nice and friendly.
H. i. w.
Food selection was poor but didn't taste too bad for the money I suppose. Been to better Wetherspoons, mind you that was a few years ago so maybe the standards have slipped across the board.
s. c.
Just typical standard issue weatherspoons (well a slightly better one than others in the city!) Situated in the "old town" part of hull, and a good meeting point to go from to gwt to other pubs. Still up hill and down Dale to get to the toilets but quite a clean place and staff are friendly ... if your in wheelchair I am unsure how you would get in as big steps to get in the venue.
J. r.
Enjoyed the food, however as families are allowed in this pub the amount of ladies toilets, surely one or two could be made into a baby changing facility. Not very nice or hygienic having to change a babies nappy in a cubicle on the floor.

Three John Scotts is in walking distance of my Uni, HSAD, Meaning its a go to for lunch if we have some extra time. But it really does depend on what time you go, as the peak periods can cause ridiculous waiting times to be served at the bar. I would 100 percent recommend getting the app as its easier for you to order and probablt easier for the staff to cope with the amount of people coming in.
The food is also a hit or miss, however its a wonderful atmosphere, the staff are quite lovely and you can usually always find a seat!
M. F.
I've had to knock a star off! Great, reasonably priced food. But standing patrons crowding the dining areas when the pub is half empty, without challenge, just isn't on!!
n. l.
Had large mixed grill and a pint of Strongbow darkfroot, stake was cooked just how I like it (medium rear), was busy warm and welcoming, ordered off the Wetherspoons app and drinks came with in 5 minutes shortly followed by the food all in all a good meal and pleasant place with nice and helpful staff
P.
Love this pub great value for money and food is very good . excellent service by very friendly staff
L. S.
What can I say about here it's brilliant only been in a afternoon and it was lovely the food and deco was very nice not like is sister pub you wouldn't think they were part of the same chain maybe the management from here needs to go and sort the other pub out
L. W.
Very good polite staff and a good atmosphere
N. L.
Amazing food. I liked it
D. J.
Cheap alcohol but no compromise on quality. Food is actually not bad and decent prices. I love their crumbed deep fried scampi.
J.
Wether spoons is the people's pub. Great value, pleasant service, always busy, and Tim Martin looks after his staff and supports UK suppliers. What's not to like.
L. M.
Very well organized on a hot and busy Saturday evening. Staff on the ball with serving and cleaning etc.
R. S.
Pub was OK, like a
Most spoons, unfortunately we been asked to leave pub, due to some difficulties with water supply
P. D.
Great, shame they've stopped the Pancakes. Good service, vigilant around social distancing, very reassuring.
T.
Cheap and cheerful which can't go wrong for what we had ordered. Very Busy. Enjoyed company and local folk down to earth. 👍
R. F.
Typical Wetherspoon pub. Cheap and cheerful. Refillable teas from £1.20 is amazing value. A comfortable spot, with pleasant staff. A great option for breakfast too.
C. R.
Only one vegan dessert on the menu and they didn't have any of that in stock.
J. S.
Always great service and friendly staff
J. S.
Great for cheap drinks but the toilets (men and ladies) absolutely disgusting!! Most of the cubicles are blocked and completely unusable. Sort it out!!!
D. D.
Visting at 22:00, ordered a drive thru burger which came without dressings sent back to kitchen, apology was made and a fresh burger prepared (with extra toppings): good service all round.
I. T.
Good range of beers and food at a reasonable price. The inside is attractively designed as you would expect for a Wetherspoons pub, and it has a large outdoor seating area.
M. B.
Have found wethers ok-enough precautions n still keeping a pub/drinking atmosphere -doing best they can to keep everyone happy -n people keep their distance -which is nice 😊! !
D. B.
Brilliant food relaxing atmosphere. Would call again
G. H.
Excellent service and great food and very reasonable prices very worthwhile. Me having a cocktail lol
J. H.
Love the diversity of people and beers.
Relax or party both areas available which takes your fancy...food too
Staff welcoming and friendly/ fun.
T. R.
Food was not as good as on previous visits. In fact the veggie options are rubbish. The food was barely warm and the plates were cold, therefore halfway through the meal the food was cold. Not nice when you are having a breakfast.
J. &. R. D.
If ever we're in Hull City center early morning we will go to Three John Scotts (Wetherspoon) for breakfast. Never crowded so a relaxed time. Plenty of choice and cheap too. Plus keep refilling tea or coffee free after the paid first one.
Over the years this has been a great meeting place with family and friends for a night out. All the usual variety of drinks you would expect from a Wetherspoon. Now we're older and drink less we'll meet up in the afternoon here and just have a couple of drinks. Nice atmosphere.
P. B.
Wetherspoons are like the Macdonalds of pubs. You know what you're gonna get, how much it'll cost and that it'll usually be to a certain standard. That said, this is one of the most popular daytime pubs in Hull centre. Always good mix of clientele, staff helpful and friendly and any grumbles dealt with proper. First choice for me and my family. Could do with a revamp though.
C. B.
Very nice place very clean food nice the mixed grill very tasty and filling well recommended
A. S.
Was absolutely rammed on Friday. Tried really hard but could only find two people in the pub called John Scott, and a third called Scott Johnson, which, I felt was frankly a poor effort on his part. Beer was cheap and food was fine, though. Five stars.
J. V.
Good food, good service and wide selection of drinks, order from your table using your phone beats queuing at the bar, great for the kids.
g. d. s.
Good and clean and £14 for 7 drinks good value

A delicious meal, at a very reasonable price. Decent ales on tap, and a nice atmosphere. The Three John Scotts is where I usually choose to eat when I am around Hull!
K. O.
Nice pub in Hulls old town. Lovely place. Nice food. Good beers and wines. And a nice big beer garden. I use this pub a couple of times a month.
I. L.
Lovely time here with the family!
R. B.
Nice place to eat you get what you pay for, better than several other Wetherspoons pubs that I've visited. Staff are courteous and efficient, I do recommend it.
A. L.

T. S.
My friends and I had a afternoon out in 3 johns Scott's and was quit looking forward to steak night as we usually come out on a Thursday which is curry night and was very disappointed that they had ran put of steak by 4pm in the afternoon. Why call it steak day when its really only steak few hours
M. G.

A very large and busy pub. They do lots of food. And the drinks are cheap. 2 kopperberg and a pint of doom for just over £8. Always busy and a popular meeting and eating place.

R. L.
I like wetherspoons, but a bit slap dash, lack of condiments and not cleaning the tables.
D. F.

Quick service, good food at good prices, in the centre of Hull. Great place. Surprised there is only one coffee machine considering the size of the pub.
J. G. M.
Cheap bear and cheap food. Does exactly what it says on the tin!
D.
Have my breakfast here every weekend! Cant go wrong. 2 breakfasts and 2 refillable coffees!! For under ten pounds.

A. S.

Food was nice but waited at the bar with a debit card for over 10 minutes to be told money only and lost my place in the queue.
R. A.
Food, beer are good, but not enough staff. Not as good as it used to be, seems to have gone downhill. Due to lack of staff
n. h.

Great value for money
J. S.
Prompt service, decent quality and great value in a secure environment.
M. K.
Perfect place for lunch in Hull city centre, great value for money being a Wetherspoons pub, the old Post Office building and close to the Museum Quarter, Hull is a beautiful City.
l. b.
Great food and great drinks at a reasonable price for the portion you receive. Very warm atmosphere.
S. T.
An average spoons with an oddly railway waiting room feel. No complaints other than watch out for manager specials: a peri-peri chicken without peri-peri sauce is just chicken.
L. J.
Great food and drinks, everything reasonably priced. Great place to start your night off, good atmosphere.
L. S.
Good range of drinks at reasonable prices, great bar staff and beer garden. Better than the place went to next ;)

Place is nice and clean, and service is very quick. However the seating isn't great for party's of 5 or more so seating can be a bit cramped.
S. S.
Great food at a reasonable price. Enjoy a meal with your family and friends. Friendly atmosphere.

Good selection of drinks, quick service at bar.
Food ok for a quick bite.
A. H.

It is a typical Wetherspoons, reasonably priced and generally decent food. On this occasion though it was burger night and they had run out of burgers at 7.30pm 🤐
J. T.
Lovely meal 10/10 staff 10/10
S. H.
Food and the gins are top of this world we go just for the gins and table service app which whoever thought of that is a brilliant idea just to sit there and be waited on even when the bar is full good stuff 3 johns Scott's
T. H.
Beers good -prices good- service not so good. Seems like if your not eating you take a back seat in the service stakes.
I. C.
Fairly typical Wetherspoons, with some treasures on the pumps. The porter was a particular success. If I'm ever in the vicinity I'll pop in again.
A. W.
Staff are accommodating, i am gluten free and these guys will change any menu option to suit my needs
F. “. S.
Service can be a bit slow, beer and food are as you'd expect from a Wetherspoons, although the beer selection is larger than most
A. S.
Excellent location, well looked after, good selection off drinks, average food and cheap prices. Good place to drop in or start a night out.
M. H.
Cheap Drinks, reasonable food, just needs some background music or tv's.
S. L.
Good 👍 food
J. J.
It's ok for a value meal and drinks, never enough staff so always queuing but the staff are good.
J. D.
Generally it's okay but it seems to be short staffed of late, empty glasses sit on tables and it's hard to find a place to sit that isn't covered in food or drink.
J. H.
Great place to eat drink and meet friends. Staff are always pleasant and help full.
H. G.
Good choice of food and all looked great! I choose the chicken and avocado salad, that was lovely. Will be back!

P. M.
Very busy but excellent service only short wait even though they were full to capacity will use again on your next visit.

Wheterspoons wheterspoons whetherspoons. What can I say? The bar is long, the floors are sticky and I'm about to get ickity drunk on the cheapish beer that's here.
I. H.
Had our breakfast, fantastic deal! Large breakfast with coffee and free refills. £6 each.... bargain! 😁👍
A. W.
Nice pub but smell of food was off putting
N. J.

b. o.

D. J.
Alright place, need some more a adds as it's always long wait on bar for a drink. Nothing more to expect its just another weatherspoons. Not my first choice but will still go as I know what I can get for food.
